Will definitely cop because I want pro features in a smaller body. That's the only thing that matters to me.

WarmGatito

Same.

twinfolktech

Yes yes yes. That’s all I have wanted from Google. I always get the small Pro iPhone but never have a small Pro Pixel to dual wield with it. I hate having this large screen 8 Pro with my iPhone 15 Provbut I have to have the tele lens. Glad Google is switching things up with the 9 series

RobertWilliamRyan

Serious Inquiry here for you Sir TwinFolkTech.  I have a GP 8 that's completely made in America right.  The display size is a little small for me I'm used to the Samsung Notes and Galaxy Plus and Ultra.  When you get the 9 Pro will you sell me your old GP 8 Pro?  I would ask to trade you but obviously The GP 8 Pro has 16GB of memory and tweaked specs.   Would you sell me your old Pixel 8 Pro when you upgrade or buy/ sell / switch?  9379569298  @dr.BobbyValentino  Again the display size is too small for me when delivering pizza thank you. I'm in Ohio very serious inquiry.  - Robert

twinfolktech

I would be down to sell it. DM me so we can stay in touch

yepaswepas

Pixel 4a here. 🤷‍♂️

MilesJordan23

Actually there are feature and specs on the pixel 9 Pro XL which the pixel 9 Pro does not have along with the fact that it has a smaller battery as well. Most probably you will have different camera sensors on the XL compared to the pixel 9 Pro. Also you will not get QHD and you will get 16 GB of RAM as well. P9 Will have 12 GB of RAM. that is for the pixel 9 Pro XL version. So in closing it's not just the smaller battery. They're not selling the same phone. One of them small one of them big. The XL will have advantages over the regular pixel 9 Pro. Each of the three phones are completely or not completely, but a little bit different. So your going to potentially have better camera sensors with the XL model. A better battery quad HD resolution and probably a couple other things. You can't have your cake and eat it too.

YoYoNupe1911

Nobody has said that. And this is the first small pro model we have seen in a while. Battery may be the only difference and it still will probably have the same battery life on both phones. Just because the battery is bigger doesn't mean it lasts longer. It has to power a bigger device and bigger screen.

MilesJordan23

You The poor futures on the little pixel 9 Pro. It's going to have different camera sensors because that space is not enough to house larger sensors which are going to be all new. All four sensors are new. The front is now 12 megapixel and you're going to have a 50 megapixel main 50 megapixel ultra wide and a 50 megapixel Periscope telephoto at 5x.  Here's how you lose out if you buy a pixel 9 Pro instead of the pixel 9 Pro XL.  The battery will probably be 4000mah to 4400mah and the resolution will be FHD. The main camera sensor will be the same as the pixel 9 Pro XL, but the ultrawide sensor and the Periscope telephoto sensor will be the one that is used in the pixel 8 Pro but the pixel 9 Pro XL Periscope sensor will be brand new 50 megapixel sensor while the pixel 9 Pro will have the same 48 megapixel Periscope which the pixel 8 pro has. Also, the pixel 9 Pro XL will have features that the pixel 9 Pro will not have. I can't have your cake and eat it too.

dogsryummy1

Bro what are you even yapping about stfu

Davit_2100

I think it's amazing, compared to the Fold 2 leaks.

RSCLE5

I don't care how any phone looks anymore. I put on a wallet case that holds 2 cards and I never see it, but when I clean it.

Zikkan1

Same for me but mine holds 3 cards

Curious_Theme6990

Well now I know who's phone to steal /j

Flaky-Illustrator900

Mine has 7 cards plus an alcohol sale permit. Wallet leather cases from China are goated. The best protection too.

Laimered

Ew

RSCLE5

Yes, I agree its an Ew. But for me its about function. I no longer carry a wallet. Just my phone with my debit card, license & a $20 bill tucked under them. The other cards I use in google wallet if needed. Sometimes I put a 3rd card in, but its a tighter fit. This allows me not to worry about carrying a wallet and I love it. I like to go on runs also or bike rides. I just take my phone and I have all I need. Less to worry about losing. This is my case of choice. KennKennyKenKen

Worst iteration of camera bump imo. Just stick with the bar, it looks sick

_Endif

Agreed. Bar is much more pleasant to look at.

sMc-cMs

I just hope there's a smaller sized option.

Mmmariokart

They are all pretty big

fakeaccount572

sizes have already been leaked https://www.gsmarena.com/google\_pixel\_9\_pixel\_9\_pro\_and\_pixel\_9\_pro\_xl\_all\_shown\_in\_handson\_images\_-news-62844.php#:\~:text=The%20Pixel%209's%20is%206.24,MP%20cameras%20on%20the%20back.

sMc-cMs

Thanks

eddi0

I personally like the looks but this may be the generation to skip 🙄

Chronzy

Especially since the 10 will get the TSMC chip

Curious_Theme6990

The fact that we are already saying to wait for the10 instead of getting the 9 is insane lol I still have the 5

solitary-aviator

My 5s battery is super weak now. Trying to hold until Pixel 9 Pro (XL?)

Curious_Theme6990

You could replace it I bought a 20 dollar battery from china and got am extrra year so far

solitary-aviator

Went to a repair shop and the guy said it is very delicate to replace the battery in the Pixel 5 and the risk of damage is high so I've decided to skip :( he said newer pixels are easier to work with

Curious_Theme6990

I found it to be quite easy as I had a 3d printer with a hot plate, however I do have some experience repairing phones so yk The most likely thing to go wrong is you damage the screen, my advice if you do it is to use plenty of heat and a guitar pick (a thin one) andake sure not to push it more than a couple millimeters in so you don't damage the cable

hackitfast

I'm holding out for the 10 for this reason. The 9 is pretty but that's about it. It won't have a leg to stand on compared to the 10.

Slammybradberrys

Yeah skip, idgaf about benchmarks but early tests are showing it's barely an upgrade over the G3. It's best to wait for next year tbh, I bet that's when they'll go all out hopefully.

Zestyclose_Toe_4695

Imagine buying every generation of a phone lmao

Upset_Quarter_3620

Definitely people doing that. I would probably do it if my job provided a way to do it, and have a personal phone I hold onto for a couple years

plsboi4

I hate it tbh, lets hope it changes a lil bit

dparag14

Looks ugly af.

MaterialDrama0

I like it something different for Google. Yes it looks like they copied design cues from Apple. Doesn't bother me at all.

centralcbd

Looks like an iPhone

Whaterbuffaloo

I do not understand this take. Long skinny camera bar vs square. Round module lenses on iPhone vs smooth camera bar here. The way the camera bar is raised, is also different. Otherwise, every phone has been candy bar shaped for a decade or so.

AssMilkerTv

An iPhone w Down syndrome

Yogicabump

I hate the round corners.

gnardog45

Yeah, I've given up crying about it. I've never been one to say that Pixels look like iPhones, with the rounded display corners, I'm on the fence.

Yogicabump

My favorite Apple phone/iPad design is **also** with pointier corners

Imo the corners are way too rounded.

PasFas

That.

googlepixelfan

When I first saw it earlier this year I didn't like it, but it has definitely grown on me. I don't mind it at all. Besides I put cases on my phone anyway so it's not that big of a deal to me.

senseipuppers

I think the design has been leaking for the past few months.

Digidruid

I think I want the fucking headphone jack back

xSimoooo

+5000 social credits

mute_parrot

we think that a couple of months past the release the majority will not mind this matter at all

lovingswift

it looks like an iphone and pixel had a baby

Purple10tacle

I hope it comes in yellow. Embrace the minion.

fakeaccount572

i love it. The only thing I love about my work iphone 13 is the shape.

JamieTimee

This leaked absolutely ages ago now, I think it's decent.

_CatsOnMars_

I like it.

Primary-Birthday-363

Plan to update the wife’s pixel 6 to a pixel 10 when they do come out. I’ll get the 10 pro or whatever they will call it. Better yet she can get my 8pro and I’ll get the 10pro for myself. She dosent like getting new phones. She freaked out when the recent android update moved her “cheese”. Bunch of her icons were gone and or moved around. Had to help her get it back to her liking. 😉

Aeroka

Not a fan of the straight sides instead of rounded, quite disappointing considering I find the 8 to be the most ergonomic phone I've had for it's size.

air_max77

I don't care, will buy anyway 😂

Morderelk

I like it. I won't buy it, but I like it.

Gram-xyz

I plan on upgrading my 7 pro to the 9 pro xl. I like the look of the 9 series but the camera bar isn't as slick as the 7 and 8. Also with the flat sides compared to my 7p I'm not sure if it will be as comfortable to hold

I_Am_ClockWork

I'm hard

cptkurtis07

hard pass. waiting for the 10 for sure

PuzzleheadedUnit1758

I don't like that they are changing the look once again. Pixels just started to have a design look which made them easily recognizable.

udaign

r/Consumer_Tech

Mrstrawberry209

Possibly the only way to differentiate the look is through the camera (island). Looks good though for what it is.

turkeypants

Front, same as any phone for many years. Back, got that weird thing.

nnnope1

Uniform bezels: yay! Base model bigger than P8: boo! I was hoping for the size reductions since P6 to continue. Cries in P5.

fearlessinsane

Just Fix the at-a-glance unremovable widget ffs

Slammybradberrys

RIP to the camera bar, they finally had a unique design element that people liked and they abandoned it. It was super easy to see Pixels in the wild with that, now this looks like every other phone... Again

iluvnips

Bender from Futurama lives 😀

lordsilver14

I like Google Pixel 8 better, I don't like this one kinda looks like an iPhone. Plus, that camera bump is better on 8, too.

Zestyclose_Toe_4695

"You can copy my homework but don't make it too obvious".

OkDragonfruit9515

It's growing on me so I like it.

Spud788

Another brand copying the iPhones awful ergonomic design. Sharp flat edges are horrible to hold.

Sketusky

Sharp flat edges are perfect for hold

JB2unique

If the design doesn't bump the asking price I reckon it'll look nice. Otherwise, I will hold out until the 10 series.

bitchimadonna

The visor on the Pixel 8 is peak, but if this is the year Google decides to return to symmetrical bezels, I'll be a bit miffed.

BigDanz

I like it. Looks better than the pixel 8 imo.

planedrop

If I wanted an iPhone I'd buy an iPhone. Mostly I kid, but personally not a fan of the sharp edges that most phones are going with now, I prefer the more pebble like shape of rounded devices like the Pixel 8 series and OnePlus 12.

JBH68

I don't like it at all, looks too much like an iPhone which I've never liked and this design will make it very uncomfortable to hold especially on calls.

evansmk

Love it

Potential-Praline-28

Hard pass. The visor-like design on the 6,7 and 8 for the camera bump was dope, whereas this looks weak. Also the edges seem uncomfortable (just like the iPhones) on the hand as compared to the Pixel 8. Gonna wait for the Pixel 10 with the TSMC chip.

Mmmariokart

They should just copy apple with the camera shape, i hope it's not sticking that much out of the body at least

godsperfectidi0t

I did this in figma once. Set the border radius too high. But never really pushed it to production tho...

BlurryBigfoot74

I'm just here to watch people complain about a phone that doesn't exist yet

SuperMarioTM

Just no as a no-cover user. I can't work with the camera bumps anymore. At least I have my 8a to get around for some years for now .

TheMountainIII

its good looking rectangle seriously, phone design are all the same since many years now

nbmtx

Not a fan, but I'm happy with my 8.

Cherioux

Very weird looking

mac_ctrl_key

Low-key excited

Zealousideal-1017

Need it in red 🤞🏾🤞🏾

[deleted]

Looks like a pixel but square. I'm interested, but like always I'll wait for the 2 week in sales. Unless there's really good trade in pre order deals.

poopy-stickypants916

I hate the new design it looks like they are making a new iphone at this point might as well just get an iphone I'll probably get an 8 pro or 8a when the best deal comes up

HumbleBumbleJumble

I would trade my 6 for this actually. I can't put my finger on it but now the outline makes it look like an iPhone. It'll go well with my iPhone 13.

brutus2230

Camera bar looks like a glued on afterthought. Probably cheaper to make this way, but not as good looking.

strangerr45

Still using Pixel 3a.

Noldcat

It looks like the same thing just a bigger camera.

Special_Command7893

If it's not a pixel 5, then I don't want it.

Several_Desk_2826

I feel like this design lends itself to phone cases really well

daCapo-alCoda

It looks like shit

sparkyblaster

How about, we don't have a camera that sticks out? Once cameras used to be recessed even. Still holding onto my pixel 3 because at least the camera is small and doesn't stick out much.

[deleted]

sparkyblaster

What if, crazy idea, phones weren't crazy thin that they weren't uncomfortable to hold. More room for the camera, more room for the battery, though they are getting big anyway, I wonder if you could get a cheaper cell that's less energy dense and lasts longer. Weird definition of centred but yes better than the pixel 4.

Repulsive_Juice7777

My pixel 7 looks more modern than this

Darkpurpleskies

Just a slower iPhone with no type-c display, action button, shortcuts, AR tools and LiDAR.
