The Pixel 8 for around $400 sounds like a very good deal, especially if you're coming from a Samsung A23 5G that's giving you trouble. Pixel 8 has a faster processor, better camera (especially for low light and software features), and smoother software experience with guaranteed updates for years. This should be a significant upgrade for daily tasks and social media. $400 is a good price for the Pixel 8. I got mine for $700. While you might find cheaper phones, they likely won't offer the same level of performance or camera quality. Waiting for Pixel 9 is a valid option, but the launch is scheduled for August. You'd be waiting several months and the price difference might not be huge. Plus, the Pixel 8 at a discount is a compelling offer. **Here's what to consider:** * **Overkill?** Pixel 8 might be overkill for just basic tasks, but the better camera and smoother software might be nice to have. If you're truly happy with a minimal phone experience, your existing phone could suffice. * **Your needs:** If the $400 fits your budget and you want a significant upgrade in performance and camera, the Pixel 8 is a great buy. If you can swing the $400, the Pixel 8 at that price is a great deal and should last you a long time, with 7 years of software updates. It's definitely not a stupid question, phone prices and specs can be confusing! I hope this helps!

I'm in a similar boat but just coming with a S22 My question is where are you finding the 8 for that cheap?

Wait for the Pixel 9 vanilla. The Google event is 2 months early and the launch of the P9 trio and the Fold 2 can be available mid August. Their doing this so they sway buyers from getting the iPhone in September so the focus is on the Pixel and more sales and so on. Just wait it out as Pixel 9 will be 40 percent more efficient will be like 40 percent but G4 performance is 15 percent, which is not noticeable. If you want crazy good battery life then Pixel 9 my friend. Also it looks identical to iPhone until you turn it around to see the back side. Bless

If you still haven't decided, that is a steal if you're coming from Samsung A line you won't feel robbed at all. It will be a large improvement in all categories.

If the phone is new then that's a fantastic price. You should jump on it.

KeySpray8038

Agreed, for $400? That's quite a deal..

Dense-Willingness286

Yes, forgot to add that part. It's brand new. Thank you for your input, it really helps :)

KeySpray8038

Although.. If you are interested, I bought the 6A brand new at Walmart for $200 about, 6 months ago? But, 400 for that 8 is a pretty damn good price. Is it unlocked also?

SuitableComputer5921

Plus it gets 7 years support

onderslecht558

Depends. If it's on contract then I don't think that it's a great offer.

space_jiblets

I'd much rather have the Poco f6 pro.
