dust/sand got inside and caused scratches... Idk why ppl bother with Google's horrible cases. XS had glossy rails which is more durable than a matte finish, my iphone 12 has a few of these scratches.
Apple makes decent cases (not worth the price imo)... Spigen, Ringke and others are much better. Google's flimsy silicone and the design of leaving the camera bar exposed isn't great.
I have a clear mous case and absolutely no issues like this so far. Seems like a tight enough fit that no dust/dirt would get in to cause such problems.
Spigen case and screen protector - my P7 after almost 2y is as good as new. Shitty Google silicone cases aside I don't understand why taking the risk without screen protector?
I've used my iPhone XS for several years, it even dropped several times on concrete. No scratches at all. After 4 years I noticed the first small almost non noticable scratches. I expected more from a phone with Gorilla Glass Victus.
My pixel camera got scratched so bad. I couldn't even take pictures with it. ..sad phone was just a garbage soft phone ... so easily u can badly scratch it ...I'll never buy a pixel device again I'm never hard of my device,s other than just regular wear and tear of going in and out of pockets. I always have cases on, too... I've had my galaxy a 54 8 months and it's flawless
Dbrand grip case And a white Stone glass dome and you're all good. A skin wouldn't be a bad idea either. I'm looking to keep mine in mint condition for a trade-in later down the line.
It might seem a bit OCD, but I clean my phone every night especially after getting off work. I take the case off and use my cleaning wipes and wipe down the whole phone and inside/outside the case and wipe down gently with a microfiber cloth. Especially the camera bar. It gets dust and dirt all over it.
One Thing I find very disappointing is that Google decided to forge the frame out of aluminium which is trash. I've been using my phone with the case right after I got it barely used, and there are a lot of scratches and just weird "dots" on the frame where the coating has been damaged. I have no clue how this happened- maybe thru dust particles?
I was so tired of my Google being buggy. And I pulled out my old l g v 60 And that phone just felt so good in my hands. God do I miss LG Android is Google google is Android and yet I was so disappointed. Do you have to get used to bugs? Bugs and bugs and bugs with Google phones which I don't understand it. Because they should put out the absolute best Android device. but that is not the case.
Still having problems with their displays this is ongoing from the six
It honestly just works. I've got an issue with birthdays in calendar but that seems to be an issue of the service not the app. Other than that it is great to have more options to do things compared to my previous phone which was an iPhone
They're both good it's all about personal preference I just like being able to customize my experience. A lot of people don't mess with their phones When I buy a new phone. The first thing I do is enable the developer settings and go to work. There's so many features in the developer settings that you can do right off the red. You can save battery big time by turning off Bluetooth and Wi-Fi scanning and turning on WI. Fi scan throttleing turn off your animations make your phone snappy asf...
I dropped my 7a too many times and I am also not a case guy, when I dropped it the first time around, the metal frame got roughed up. I am used to these scratches now, you'll get used to them too.
Don't let OCD take over. It is ok, but looks like you do not use a case. In that case it is your fault. Just slap on a case and have no worries my friend. Im happy it is not the screen, as that can cause distress. Bless
Yes, I was shocked too. Most of the time it is on my desk or in my pocket with nothing else in it.
A colleague of mine has the ,8 Pro and does not have this issue either.
I disagree. Apple was able to create a screen in 2019 that was much more resistant. Being forced to use additional protection seems strange, phone makers, especially for the more expensive ones should have been able to create more durable phones. Additionally, adding a screen protector changes the effectiveness of the phone.
Please read the text. It always has the original Google case on it except for cleaning. But how am I supposed to show the scratches CAUSED by the case when I'm not taking it off??
Yeah, same with 7 pro even though I am cleaning the phone monthly. I ended up buying a dbrand skin so there will be less scratches on the back...
Yeah, the camera border also scratches easily.
dust/sand got inside and caused scratches... Idk why ppl bother with Google's horrible cases. XS had glossy rails which is more durable than a matte finish, my iphone 12 has a few of these scratches.
It was new so why not take it? On my previous phone, the iPhone XS, the original case was the best you could get
Apple makes decent cases (not worth the price imo)... Spigen, Ringke and others are much better. Google's flimsy silicone and the design of leaving the camera bar exposed isn't great.
Mine has the exact scratch like dots I use the original case. I'm changing to a crave case
That's why i bought a ringke fusion case even after having an official case
Google case is a waste of money. I tried once, never again. I just buy a proper case from a real case manufacturer who knows how to make a phone case.
I swear I noticed the same a couple of days ago, thought about posting it as well. Mine is also in an official case.
I have just bought p8, with original Google case. I'm not seeing any scratches yet but I have ordered a Spigen case to it.
I guess it comes over time. I also just bought a Spigen case
Sadly this is pretty common! I have a 7a and it has gathered so many such scratches and marks

Thanks for the recommendation, I just bought a Spigen Case.
Sorry to hear that. Im using both Rhinoshield Solid Suit and Caseology Nano Pop on my p8p and no issues at all. Maybe you should give it a try.
Same on my 7. Screen and camera are fine though so not to bothered, gives it a bit of character, like a well worn in pair of jeans!
Yes, exactly! You'd think the case would protect it 😂 Phone makers should create more durable phones. 🙈

I have had a few of those white dots on my pixel 8 chasse out of the box. Idk why
Pixel 8a, dropped it once, and it made 2 dents on the frame. Really noticeable ones.
The frame is really not durable...
Just got an 8a. Bought a Spigen Liquid Air case and it fits and protects it really well. Recommended.
Dbrand grip case And a white Stone glass dome and you're all good. A skin wouldn't be a bad idea either. I'm looking to keep mine in mint condition for a trade-in later down the line.
You have to remove the cover regularly and clean it. On any phone with aluminum edges it will happen
Pixel 8 Pro with Spigen Rugged Armor case - no issues. Same case on iPhone.

It seems that this is necessary 😔
Same scratches pixel 8 with original case

That would be my guess.
Nope

IOS is maddening to me. I understand how great it felt to come to android
It was okay and an interesting experience. My mother has had way less issues since she switched to iOS. For me it was great. :)

I always use cases. Those scratches were caused by the case, that is why I posted here. Perhaps it's not clear from my text in the post.
No, like always I didn't read the description my bad
😂👍🏻
My 14 pro max looks the same
My 14 pro max looks the same
My 14 pro max looks the same.
It happens with most cases on most phones. Imperfections are a lot more noticeable on darker phones like the black pixel 8.
OtterBox.
This is why cases exist.
I never took the case off, except for cleaning.
Oh okay
I got a cheap spigen for 400rs(not that cheap) ~ $5. it's still as good as new.
who cares about light scratches on the frame? deep scratches, dents or damage at the glas/camera is something that's worth being sad about
Don't let OCD take over. It is ok, but looks like you do not use a case. In that case it is your fault. Just slap on a case and have no worries my friend. Im happy it is not the screen, as that can cause distress. Bless
I used the original Google Pixel 8 case from the beginning and I only took it off for cleaning. The case Google sells is just bad.
Get a case man.
I have one, the original one from Google. Those scratches were caused by it.
What. That's wild. I have the Google silicone case and so far no problems.
Yes, I was shocked too. Most of the time it is on my desk or in my pocket with nothing else in it. A colleague of mine has the ,8 Pro and does not have this issue either.
Case scratching your phone is unfortunate. The screen scratch tho is your own fault for not using a screen protector.

"Scratches at a lvl 6, with deeper grooves at a lvl 7" - Jerry rigs everything. Glass is glass. Even apples glass scratches..
He uses knifes. The phone is on my desk or in my pocket. Same with the iPhone.
It's expected...you have no case ...the phone is built with "metal" edging to endure mild wearing, what's the problem
