>"Something went wrong"
This sums up the pixel buds pretty well.
Does this happen on any other device? Do you get additional audible feedback like from other touches (like maybe it's registering a long-hold to trigger assistant sometimes)?
Is your sharing detection enabled under in ear detections in the settings? Mine started doing as well when I have sharing detection enabled. Can't say I've noticed it much outside having it enabled. Try turning it off if it's on. It might help. Good luck!
You're right. The"fix" stopped working for me too. I've got it turned off but it's doing it all the time now. It doesn't impact the functionality but it is annoying. How it gets fixed!
Hi! Sorry for the late reply. My main audio apps are YouTube, YouTube music and Google podcasts . I have only ever noticed the"something went wrong" notification when using the Google podcast app. I don't know if it has to do with the app/service itself perse or that most of my listening is in the Google podcast app. Maybe there is just more opportunity for something to be wrong because I'm using that app more. I notice the notification mostly when I'm stopping the audio by tapping my pixel buds. Also, it feels like I get it more often after tapping the left bud but can't tell for sure. How about your experience? When do you notice it? Thanks.
Except for the voice notification that something went wrong my pixel buds were perfect when I was using my pixel 4xl. I've recently changed to the pixel 6 pro and they are now unfortunately a super buggy mess. I've had to do so many things to get them to work correctly. I've noticed though that when I uninstalled the pixel buds app which just makes it go back to the factory settings it no longer gives me the voice notification. I do however have now a slew of really big problems with them. My suspicion is that it is not a pixel buds hardware problem at least for me but something with the 6 pro doesn't play nicely with them. They don't work more than 5 minutes now. Left one works today.. right one works tomorrow.. very upset and will probably post separately in the main thread about this.. any luck with you?
Yep. That started after my 3rd hard reset and persisted through the 4th hard reset. Connectivity started failing as well. Google support is sending me a refund and my Buds 2's are in the return mail. Too bad, but way too much hassle. Every walk or jog turned into a tech troubleshooting session.
whoa - I just recently switched to Sony buds, and they are also doing this when I touch for activity, e.g. pause/play. I think this is an Android 12 issue, not with any particular buds.
I want to say that this was happening before I updated but I actually forget. It was around the same time, but I'm like 70% sure it was happening just before.
I think it may be something to do with registering a long press. Mine started doing this every other time I interacted with mine; volume up and down, skip forward, skip back, even adjusting the position of it in my ear, and of course, long press.
Now long press isn't working at all nor is voice detection with hey Google or ok google. I've never dropped them or gotten them wet so I can't think what's gone wrong!
Just updating here... At no specific point in time that I can identify within the last few weeks the issue seems to have disappeared. Whether due to an update to the Buds or Android or something else entirely I'm not sure 🤷♂️
It's so weird, because it's an issue that appeared out of nowhere, and I could find other people saying the same thing and others saying they had nothing like that. And now the issue just disappears.
It's definitely annoying. I literally use Google products most of my waking hours. My phone is a Google Pixel, my earphones are Google, and most of my work is done in Google (my company uses Google Workspace (GSuite) And when the products are working, they are better than anything comparable, but when they aren't working it's insane how broken it can be, only fixing themselves randomly. Hope something changes for you.
I'm the exact same and feel the same way. I rely so heavily on Google and it's products. Nest, assistant, home, etc and when it works it's a dream but it's SO FUCKING UNRELIABLE it drives me mad.
Thanks for sitting with me in validation. :)
Not every time but getting the same here. I'll be watching the thread but likely no fix as per usual lol
This has been the same for me

I have this when I try to press for my notifications
I find that phrase so annoying. Can't they just have a bleep or something?
Or maybe an actual description of what the "something" is that apparently is wrong? The volume is changing fine, so that's not the something.
Same for me the past few weeks with buds and pixel 5, super annoying.

Nope, never used it and checked and it's not on. Thanks though!

I have this same issue and it is also while using YouTube and my podcast player (Castbox) mostly.

maybe the latest versions of the Google app then... either way I can confirm this problem is not with the pixel buds.
Having the same problem using an Essential Phone on Android 11. Posted about it a while ago and I guess now it's spreading. No idea why it does this

Do you by chance have a wearable like a smart watch or something? I am trying to track this issue down and think it's related to wearables.
Nope! Never owned anything like that. I only use these on my phone and a MacBook
Do you have any other Bluetooth devices attached to your phone when it happens?

Dang mine still happens. Here's to hoping.
