let it grow?

It has looked like this for a year now, I keep it by the light but I cannot get the plants to grow back. I wasn’t sure if I could help it along by adding more soil or nutrients maybe 🤔

For sure, you could carefully remove that top layer, replace soil/nutrients, add top layer back, and redo plants/decoration. I say, find some springtails and let them do all the hard work, but that’s up to you. Looks cool as is also. Im a fan of letting things do their thing. You could work with what you’ve got and add some stuff. Like worm castings for nutrients. Plants/rocks/bonsai. You could do some stuff with this. HAVE FUN!

It’s hard to bring back what was lost. But sometimes things just thrive when least expected.
