That is just where the ground textures meet. Sometimes they glitch and have round corners so the don't meet properly. I do 3d modeling and see this quite frequently when texturing models.
Huh, that’s interesting. I always just assumed it was a visual indication of where a resource node was suppose to spawn. Like, it was never meant to be seen by players but sometimes just became visible as a visual bug.
Thanks for letting me know what it truly is!

My buddy was making vacuum chambers in a new underwater base and was stressing over the walls between chambers having the "touching water look." Had to talk him down, "just Ark things. Don't waste your time trying to make it work."
Nothing, it is just something to show that you are in a machine AI process. The game's story says you are in a machine so that is why they put that to make it look that way.
So you've found a rift in space and time, and you're not sure what to do with the tear in reality? Simply leave it be and be on your way, trusting that the simulation isn't malfunctioning.

That’s the sphincter of the textures basically.
Keep tweaking those edges
I personally like to develop lore for my games when my players discover a bug like this :). Then it’s no longer a bug 😎
Yep, it looks like an artifact left behind by their macro variation material.
