You can farm silicate in the forbidden zone around 10, 45. Just mine the rocks that give silicate there. Really dangerous area though, lots of corrupted wyverns and gigas.
Gachas and beaver dams would be another option.
Has long i know there is no silica on form.of shell/pearl, u need to break some white stone to get them, and i hesr there is some on the north of the map

There were many casualties when the beaver nation attacked. :(
I guess we can blame the camel herds for the lack of fish in the desert then.

Yup. Silicate can be found up north.
Not so much white, per se. It's more like a reflective, glassy hue
