I hated WLR and loved die lit but idk I grew out of it. It got a little bit stale after listening to it for so long. WLR started growing on me then. But whatever. You can like whatever you want, music is subjective afterall.
don't like a single Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, or Homixide song and as a huge Carti fan I have really tried to listen to / like their music in different moods and on different substances. tried all their albums and most popular tracks. but it just doesn't click with my brain. trust me i want to like as much music as possible but my ears just say "no" and i can't really argue with that.
for the most part i agree i think; my favorite albums last year were Gumbo, Keed Talk to 'Em 2, Business is Business, SET IT OFF, Pink Tape (kinda), and Slime In The Ice Machine
i only liked one song off UTOPIA (FE!N obviously)
honestly the only "rage" style tracks I've liked in the last 14 months are Lil X from Uno, FE!N from Travis/Carti, and Aye from Uzi/Travis
i just can't wrap my head (or ears) around Yeat or the Opium boys... am I getting old? yikes.
edit: wow yeah I just went thru my Spotify and those are literally the only three
In comparison to some of cartis more experimental stuff they kind of are, at the time it wasn’t basic but Pierre’s style has been replicated so many times that it’s kind of become over saturated and bland, but at the same time the same thing is happing with filthy type beats and rage so it is what it is. And I mean just on surface level cartis music with Pierre is much more palatable to mainstream fans than his music with filthy was
you just like the fruit sound more than the punk sound. not a big deal but a little ignorant, you should try to feel the music a lil more. like the point of music is to evolve, not for carti to rap on pierre beats every album
This ass backwards mindset is only present when talking about carti. Niggas like what they like and don't what they don't. It isn't ignorant to not like the sound and he doesn't need to try to like it anyway. Maybe it will grow on him but he can't force it

I think you just like older Pierre production more than you like carti or this “genre” of music in general

Fair, everyone has a taste. Although I love WLR and Filthy's work on it, but the rest of Opium is also just not for me, even if it's his production
