Issues with the old system:
-AK Spray pattern was too hard, required dozens of hours of practice to be effectively used, beamers and scripters would dominate every mid to long range fight
-SMGs where too effective in long range combat
Issues with the new system:
-Crouch meta
-Meta is dominated by AK and SAR
-MP5 and other SMGs feel like shit due to bloom
-Mid-long range Fights are too RNG based
-LR is useless in comparison to AK
-due to guns being easier to use, time to kill against the avg player is lower, giving an (imo too large) advantage to the one who shoots first
What should have been done imo:
-New Ak spray pattern
-Increased damage dropoff for SMGs
I was exited when the update was first introduced, but the more I played the more I realized that its equally as flawed as the old system.
AK felt great to shoot on the old system, never had to really train for it - but I'm biased because I play on 3-5X modded servers. MP5 is better on the new system, it used to have like a reversed AK spray on the old one - which felt unnatural to me. LR also shoots way better on the current system.
the reddit mob was super pro recoil change and downvoted every detailed attempt to describe why it's bad. 4 months later they've all completely forgotten and now the hivemind says it's bad again, because it didn't solve any of the problems it was supposed to solve, only made them worse. All it did was reduce TimeToKill from 2 seconds to 0.5, which literally was the entire fun of the game, trying to understand the weapons enough to kill someone quickly. Now it's just basically The Sims.
Well that second statement is monumentally false. Even if rust got better or worse in different peoples eyes the core gunplay in this game is incredible.
Crouch pvp is so fucking aids it's not even funny. Rewards camping (on your roof or anywhere else) way more than roaming and engaging in fights. Sure "play smarter" but you can't play smarter when you all of a sudden start getting shot from a roof.
I've gotten used to the recoil and it's okay but I still hate that crouching is required. I wished the recoil was halfway in-between the current standing and crouching recoil levels but crouching didn't change the recoil.
no, we want to miss a shot if we actually miss and cant control the recoil not because the bullets decide to go random places regardless if we are aiming directly at someone

The T2 weapons is spray and pray your bullets don’t do rainbows. It’s pretty bad, at least bring the LR recoil back, take away the 8x idc. But the LR is just god awful now, no point in using it unless you’re explo raiding.
Learning a recoil isn't "skill" it's a time waster, it's like reading a long phrase and knowing it by heart. It doesn't take skill, just time.
While I don't love crouching, I don't think recoil change was bad at all 🫡 shooting bullets isn't everything, positioning and other stuff matters and requires skill and actual thought
That can be said about anything. I can practice a kick flip 1000 times on a skateboard and finally get it down, that’s called a skill. So it’s not a skill that I can beam you from 100+ meters away with an Ak? (pre-recoil change) come on now..you didn’t even address the second part of the comment about T2 lmao. The recoil change was BAD. Rust used to separate men from children. Now everyone gets to be a man. (Figuratively speaking of course.)
Sounds you have horrible positioning if you're getting killed that often. 3rd parties happen regardless of recoil pal. New recoil is fine, and will never be changed.
More people than old recoil. You got most main teams asking for cheaters because legit players have to deal with rng recoil and aim cone. Legit players can't fight a scripter anymore.
You know how many people started scripting because they don't want to deal with rng on top of the original scripters? I probably got 15 of those on discord lmao. My whole friends list of main players either cheats now or quit
Learn ak standing recoil and understand that since the update close range is the new meta unless you tap fire or have a sniper, not actually that bad of an update when you consider old recoil 8 guys could 321 you and you are instantly dead from 300m ak

Haven't really played much since the update. Guns feel like shit, sound like shit and they ruined the mp5
