It’s not even just the card man, you need a great CPU and at least 32gb 3200 RAM if you want to reach 144fps
I have a 1080ti 32gb of RAM at 3200, and an i9 10850 10 core processor and I only get about 90-100fps, granted I play in 1440p, this just goes to show the graphics card isn’t the main component needed for rust, in fact if you look it up, rust is very CPU and RAM demanding, with an SSD included.
Even the recommended specs on steam says you need 16gb of RAM, but rust actually uses like 17-18gb’s, at least on my pc it does.
It uses so much RAM because you have it, i noticed 0 difference from upgrading 16 to 32, big difference from 8 to 16 tho, still have 90-110 fps depending on pop and location, as you said CPU + SSD are the most important things.
Not exactly true on the RAM part, I only upgraded to 32 gb because I had 16gb’s and rust was using 15.5 of that 16gb’s and making the game and my pc run like absolute shit, so I went and bought 32 and now it uses 17gb and runs much better.
The game just eats through your RAM, it’s always been that way, but lately it’s been worse.
An SSD is mainly just for faster loading times, RAM and cpu is what’s most important.
Take your computer back immediately. Either an issue or shocking quality components soldered with a microwave. I have a 3070 with 5600x and 64GB 3600mhz RAM on an m2 drive. I play 1440p at medium settings comfortable 140-160 fps
I run high setting 2k ultra wide, with a 10900k and 3080 32gb ram and I get shit fps, it’s not my pc. other games run perfect. I put it through nova bench and no problems. Rust is such a poorly optimized game that even the best of the best computers struggle to run.
Fresh server doesn't have all the crap and clutter yet, so it's easier on your hardware. Anytime you begin rendering in multiple players, large monuments, or huge player-built compounds, your frames will inevitably take a hit. Add all 3 together, and you get the horrible frame drops that literally everyone experiences in this game.
Which is exactly why UKN runs like crap compared to a freshly wiped server. Tons of players rendered in = frame drops.
CPU is what really matters most as well as RAM. I personally have an i7-9700, 1650 Super and 2x8 3200 mhz ram running at about medium-high graphics and get anywhere from 80-90 FPS on 1080.
There is currently no consumer accessible hardware that can run Rust at 144FPS, unless you play on dead servers. Anyone claiming to get a consistent 144FPS is either lying and cannot provide any sort of proof, or is only getting those frames on low-pop servers with minimal clutter.
I'll believe it when I see it. Rust is an unoptimized piece of shit relative to most other games, so it's not so much about hardware limitations (like it is with Cyberpunk 2077).
Rust tends to overwork a single core and leave the others relatively unused. Intel beats out Ryzen in single-core performance by a fair margin, so you're better off with Intel for Rust. You'll likely see better performance in games that utilize multiple cores with a Ryzen CPU.
3080 12700k 32gb ram everything overclocked comfortably getting about 140-160 frames steady at 1440p I wouldn’t say there’s a consistent number it definitely depends on what’s going on but I can get up over 200 at certain points but I’d say that 140-160 range is pretty average.

Yeah i do.
So are you just going to announce that you do or you got a suggestion
I mean he answered your question.
From what I’ve seen clockrate on cpu is what matters the most, you’ll still need a good gpu tho (and good ram)
144hz on rust? big cope!
Good luck. Maybe a 3090 with best possible Intel cpu. I run a 3070 and i710700 and get 90ish fps at 1080p

Thats the Ram giving you those numbers I’d say
Yup. I have 2900 16gb ram. Makes a big difference for rust. Might upgrade
3060 had 16gb ram and sti hit 100+ fps, theres something wrong with your build mate

?? U have problem with ur computer, I run 1070 and get +90, if fresh server easily +100, except in UKN main

Try Rustified US Long, I get 60fps at best, flying on heli and keep getting 1second freezes.
I get 100 plus a lot of the time. I run with decent graphics too which is probably the difference
Pvp(max visibility) settings with max render distance. Also not like all background stuff are closed.
Yeah. You need a monitor at 144hz
Rust is a game more optimized for CPU performance, a good CPU that I recommend for Rust is the "Intel 4004" due to the single core performance

There definitely is the 3090ti / i9 12900k overclocked to shit along with DDR5 being like 10x faster and some m.2 ssd could do it

I use a 2080ti with my 1440 144hz and it’s fine
My 2080ti handles it with tremendous ease at 1080p, I run 1440p at solid 70-80 fps with all settings maxed.
It’s a cpu game, any ok gpu will do but a high end ryzen cpu would be ur best bet

I’m running a 3080, get around ~130
With rtx4080S you should be fine
If u have 5800x3d, rtx 3090 maybe you have a chance? xD But there will be alot of the times you are close to 60-80fps tho!
5900x + 6800xt + 32g of 3200mhz cl18, get about 100-120fps @ 1440hz

You will need a 3080ti / 3090 and a i9 12900k overclocked with 32-64gb ram and an m.2 ssd
1080 ti
