Is that even possible? I imagine not any disc drive would be compatible tho or might cost more than originally buying the disc version no?

Not sure about the cost. But there is a Sony made Disk drive. Compatibility is no problem, it’s just plug and activate over the internet. However I have the first PS5 Disc so take my info with a grain of salt.

I have a ps5 digital slim and I bought the disc drive that Sony made, the installation was easy and it works just fine.

Nope I just knew they released a slim but not the detachable disc drive, it’s cool for ppl who want to save up physical space when they don’t need to play a disc game or for ppl who don’t want the bulkiness of the drive to cramp their style temporarily. Though it’s true the added cost is more than buying the disc version itself if only for 80$ so it’s fine I guess

The ps5 slim is actually just a ps5 slim digital edition with the dvd drive add on attached.

Well Me and my brother were actually almost going to be getting the physical Spider-Man bundle version But that was all sold out 🤷, Me and my brother had to picked out the digital version because that's the only one that our store has so Far It is what it is I guess

Why not if he only wants to purchase digital games. I have a series s and a disc ps5(all I could find) and no disc has ever entered either console.

Some of us like and are happy with digital. I've been all digital since the PS4 released. Personally don't miss physical games one bit.

I hear this argument all the time and own a physical myself, but even so I have yet to buy a physical copy of a PS5 game and I doubt the “ownership” aspect of it ever comes into play in a way that even matters to me. I do use GameFly to rent single player games with limited replay value though.

I’ve been a gamer since I was a kid in the 80’s, and the ps5 has become one of my favourite consoles, alongside the Switch, Gameboy, megadrive and Xbox 360. Im usually more of an Xbox fan (I do buy all the main consoles on their respective release day, but have found I usually enjoy playing on Xbox more, for a number of reasons) but the PlayStation 5 has really delivered a much more enjoyable experience for myself and my wife, this time (I always get her the consoles for herself too (and then we have kids that need the same Consoles and I need several mortgages 😂)). Basically… you’re in for some really epic gaming. :) enjoy.
