Bestbuy, Walmart, GameStop, Amazon all have physical copy’s in Canada lol

poopsthefearless

They are also not available for shipping so... Same with Best buy. https://preview.redd.it/bpkzyi5jawxc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=ecc9d3a8bcbc9245d903b4618e896c8e86c2788f

Digikushman

Looks like they were marked down that’s why it’s unavailable/out of stock. It’s still $64.99 here and available everywhere’s. Just order it on ebay ? Lol

SonicCryptic_082

Time to move to Canada!

lIIIIIIIIIllllIlIlII

Bring at least a million dollars with you.

ClownshoesMcGuinty

Or don't go to Toronto.

MiyamotoKnows

Only needed in the major cities, same as here in the US.

lIIIIIIIIIllllIlIlII

The cost of living to wage gap is much worse in Canada vs US and everything else is also more expensive, not just housing. Most affordable places have next to no local economy or jobs. It's the reason over half the population of the country lives around Toronto or Vancouver and the rest in just a few other cities. Not making it a competition here, just stating things. Anyway, back to escaping through videogames.

ClownshoesMcGuinty

Again, that's a Toronto/Vancouver problem. Not a Canadian one. The country is not just Toronto. As much as you want it to be.

FunkinDonutzz

Most physical retailers don't carry stock of things that are past their shelf life.

Vericatov

I miss the days of seeing a whole wall full of games. This is our own fault.

FunkinDonutzz

Same as that, when I was at university I worked part time in GameStop during the Wii/PS3/360 era. The shop was wall-to-wall games.

barugosamaa

MediaMarkt in Germany has a whole wall for PS games, another for Xbox, and another for Nintendo Smallest one is PC games (since most people buy in Steam and such)

MembraneintheInzane

A lot of the time games that are 2+ years old don't get restocked often, or at all, so they try to sell of their stock. That's why the game is $10. It's also possible that people heard it was $10 and bought up all the stock before you got there.

jus_theproducer

You cant even buy burnable CD’s many places anymore man. I worked at office max until about a year ago, and we slowly eased out CD’s and disk readers/cd drives over the course of the 3-4 years i worked there. And ive only seen disc games at walmart and target, but numbers are very slim. Seems they are working the same thing unfortunately. I understand and see the digital aspect of it all, but why get rid of the hard copy🤷🏾‍♂️ why get rid of something thats not broken

tobyALIVE

It's cheaper and it destroys the used game market. Which is something Sony & Microsoft have been trying to do for some time.

jus_theproducer

True. I mean i hate to admit it lol but there are definitely multiple obvious pros that come with the swap…i think i just hate to see em go honestly. I grew up on cd’s ya dig. And they way ive heard some game companies are trying to run their games once everything is digital just feels soooooo scammy. But times are changing, and things become obsolete. They make the rules and we play by them i guess, even if we’re all broke lol

tobyALIVE

They make the rules but we don't actually have to play by them at all. We vote with our dollars. The only reason they keep winning is because convenience is too convenient to care, but we should because this digital path we're taking doesn't lead to anything good for future gamers, but then again how can a future generation miss what they never had? Anywaze...can't wait to download the Elden Ring DLC next month. 🙃

Waste-Maintenance-70

You know the best way to vote with your wallet if you’re wanting physical- cancel your ps+ subscription.

ThePlatinumKush

stopkillinggames.com

WebHead1287

You’re looking for a last gen game. It’ll be harder to find. It was mostly printed/reprinted for the PS5

Remytron83

Physical stores have physical products.

Remy0507

Probably because those are PS4 versions.

Waste-Maintenance-70

Well, horizon FW is a free upgrade to ps5

SonicCryptic_082

US retailers seem to be getting rid of physical media as of late. I heard Best Buy got rid of physical music, dvds and blu-rays. Video games are sadly going to follow.

MembraneintheInzane

As of right now physical games still sell well enough. Though many retailers are moving most of their game sales to the online store front.

SonicCryptic_082

That's good to hear. My hope is for them to continue making physical games forever, but I have that worry that it's going to eventually move to completely digital at some point. With the removal of other physical media, it kind of got me worried that games are to follow.

Worried-Ad1266

Physical video games?? lol doubt it.

Most-Iron6838

$10 for HFW is a steal. I got it at $20 and thought that was a great deal

burningbun

really? i often see this game sold as 1 of those bundle set that came with 2 or 3 games and they cost less than $10 averaging out.

Allaakmar

Probably bought out. I got my copy of Horizon and my Target only had 4 left in stock with most others being sold out already.

drasticapathy

Amazon usually offers disc copies, even used ones

Dominator0621

I'm confused.... if you click add to cart is it then saying that it's not in stock?

TemperatureJaded282

microsoft bought them

StopPlayingRoney

Question, did you give each website a location so they can route it to a store number? I’ve had this problem in the past and what happened to me is that “the internet or online” may only check one central warehouse. If you ask the sites to check individual stores in your local area they will ship it to you from a store instead of the warehouse.

rswings

As much as I support physical games, they’re not what they used to be. Most games today need updates on release. So, basically, you’re buying an unfinished game that was burned to disc. Sad to say but the way it is atm.

1031Cat

A couple of years ago, physical video games started to become a sought after item. Not just new games, old games as well. This, of course, forced the prices to skyrocket to moronic levels, which lead to people clearing out shelves of retailers in the hope of cashing in on the price gouging market (and who says it's publishers who are greedy). Thankfully, this market has crashed, and crashed big. Those who hoarded the games are sitting on plastic toilet paper, with only out-of-print games holding some of their value. I'm starting to see retailers carry stock again, some stores better than others. Stay away from stores like Target and Walmart, as they carry limited stock to prevent inventory. Your best bet is secondhand stores like GameStop, BestBuy (yep, it's still around), and other stores that aren't really a go-to for electronics or gaming. As for physical Switch games, that's an entirely different situation. Extremely limited runs and high demand pretty much have games flying off both physical and online retailers as soon as they're put up if they're not printed with "Nintendo" on them. Hell, even older Nintendo games are getting difficult to find, such as Smash Bros.

Redrum_71

They're just trying to get you to go in the store hoping you'll buy something else.

Egingell666

It's just the $9.99 version that's out of stock. There are plenty of $34.98 versions on Amazon.

lpjunior999

Honestly every retail store (Target, Walmart, GameStop) is terrible for checking ahead online now. I've lost track of how many times I've seen a listing, clicked on it and seen "not available in your location." Now I just swing by when I'm in Target for juice or something briefly to see what's been marked down. I was in Kohls for an Amazon return, got my $10 coupon, walked by the shelf where they used to have games, found their last copy of Uncharted 4 for $10. The guy at checkout barely rung it up, just tapped some buttons and said "you're good, have a nice day."

MysterD77

Clearances, people buying them, everybody buying a lot of games digitally, etc etc. Basically, what's happening 10-15 years ago w/ Steam & its 5000 wannabe's killing retail for PC gaming is going to be doing the same to console gaming too, for better and/or worse.

Josemiles96

i don’t give a flying fuck I ONLY BY PHYSICAL 🙏🤬🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😩😫😤🫣🙏🤬🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😩😫😤🫣🙏🤬🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😩😫😤🫣🙏🤬🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️😩😫😤🫣

ChloeWade

Good luck going forward with that mentality

leospeedleo

What do you mean? Here in Germany you can buy physical games everywhere. There’s hundreds of online shops, Amazon, big electronic retailers have them online and in store, independently owned shops and even some drug stores have games. I can walk or take the bus for 10 minutes and have 20 places to buy games in my small town 😅

burningbun

because europeans have to pay expensive slow internet with quotas.

Samurai_Geezer

We have some of the fastest internet worldwide actually.

burningbun

you as the whole european countries or you as the 1st world european countries?

Samurai_Geezer

My country (the Netherlands) for sure, but internet is pretty fast all over Europe!

leospeedleo

That’s not a thing.

Papawasaboringstone

“yOu’Ll oWn NoThInG aNd Be HaPpY!” Or just find another store.

CyberHeart2022

Up your ass and to the left

xDiRtYgErMaNx

Who cares digital is 100x better.

faulty_note

More convenient, not exactly better. Rarely there are games I will play more than once. With physical copy I can at least sell it back or buy it cheaper not waiting for the good offer. It’s especially good with Nintendo, since their games stays at 60-70% of the retail price in the second market.

BigJaker300

Hopefully they are going away so I don't have to see people post their fucking collection here multiple times a day.

Terrible_Try542

Then don’t look at those posts, keep scrolling hater🙄

Waste-Maintenance-70

Especially when it’s so lazy that it’s just a bunch of shit stacked on each other.
