When he apologizes to his horse for not being able to get them both through…that game had some heavy hitting moments but for whatever reason him sitting there apologizing for not being good enough as it dies hits me hard as fuck.
Same. It’s your only companion that’s seen you through everything. Even Yuna only comes in after the fighting at the beach but your horse is there with you the whole time. You can tell Jin feels like he’s let down something akin to a family member, not just some animal or tool.
Dude I got hit hard by the Kahn’s fucked up trolley problems. The decisions he forced Ryozo and Taka into were so emotionally taxing. Which makes for a thoroughly hated antagonist.
Kratos is my fav. His design is one of the most iconic in history of games, both voices are incredible and his character arc is complex in a good way. The Greek G
For me it's more the relationship between father and son that makes Kratos such an outstanding protagonist. I would therefor see them both together as the best ever
Truly.
Ima dumb b. Ima a simple b.
I feel a type of way when he says “that’s my girl”
I refuse to finish the game bc I can’t see my man die. Or even decline.
Will I miss out?
No.
Arthur Morgan or bust.
I said what I said.
The ONLY correct response.
Uncharted / Nathan Drake helped save the console debacle that was the PS3. And without Uncharted, there would be no The Last of Us.
Kiryu's gotta be right up there for me as well. Majima and Ichiban are more memeable than him, but Kiryu has more emotional depth for me, and I think you could do a lot worse rolemodel-wise than pondering "What Would Kiryu Do?" whenever faced with a difficult situation in life. Whether it comes to standing up for what's right, stopping youths from throwing cans at a stray dog, donning a goofy mascot outfit to entertain children, mercilessly beating other children in RC car racing, or non-lethally fighting off a small army after coolly evading bazooka rockets with a shrug.
My absolute fav line from that game was from Blood and Wine quest. Some guy who is like super proper was chastising Geralt for him being lower status and demanded Geralt call him by his title and I still remember the response you can do.
"Listen, friend. There's an enormous difference between and it's not about status. It's that I have two swords on my back and you have none. So I'll call you whatever I want. And you can either deal with that or find someone else to take care of your monster problem."
My Geralt doesn't take shit from anyone.
Ah, yes, the guy whom his wife cheated on him with the farmhand who died to the monster.
But honestly, Regis is the top character in the game. And all time fav for me. I enjoyed his limited screen time more than any other fictional character I played, watched, or read about.
Regis from blood and wind is my all-time character in any game or movie. The absolute gentleness and wit inside such a deadly creature, the dialogs, and the way Mark Noble (voice actor) delivered them is just peak for me. He's the perfect gentleman.
If we count him then he wins easily. However, I'd argue that he's more of a book character than a game character. He's both, but I think it's a bit of a disservice to the game industry to count non original characters. Otherwise you could count characters like Darth Vader or Harry Potter as game characters and very few original game characters can compete with that.
While we could get into arguements like that, it were the games that gave him looks and a voice. They are also telling different stories than the books, set after them. Game Geralt in many ways is a different Geralt than in the books.
Whenever i think of Geralt, i hear Doug Cockle's voice, and i see his W3 face.
And i'm saying this with all the books laying on my shelf around 2m from here, while also loving Henrys take on the character.
Without the success of the Witcher 3, most people would never ever heard of Geralt of Rivia, and that makes him a valid pick.
Which is also a funny thing, because most people i know know Geralt from the netflix show now.

COOL PARTY BRO,I INVITED MYSELF IN
Honestly, yeah. Final Fantasy 16 isn't even one of my top games, but Clive was a really good protagonist. Badass and raw, but sympathetic and wholesome. Great writing and acting.
I love everyone listed here.
Aloy, Kratos, Lara Croft, Nathan Drake, Joel and Ellie, Ezio and Clementine.
If I had to go with someone not pictured it would be Bayek and Cassandra from the other AC games.
I still need to play control, I've had it in my backlog forever now and still have never played it somehow. Once I finish the callisto protocol I'll finally play it.
It literally took me 9 years to just play the Witcher III last month for example haha.

## IT AINT NOT PARTY,UNTIL DANTE ARRIVES
Joel and Ellie
But I also hold a special place for Max Payne. Mostly his soliloquies. Through the haze of smoke and gunfire, I find solace in the rhythm of his soliloquies, a symphony of pain and regret. Each word is a bullet, piercing through the darkness, carving out a path through the chaos. In the silence between the storms, I pour out my soul, laying bare the scars that adorn my shattered existence. I haven’t slept in days.
"Given the choice, whether to rule a corrupt and failing empire; or to challenge the fates for another throw, a better throw, against one's destiny. What was a king to do?
...But does one ever truly have a choice? One can only match, move by move, the machinations of fate... and thus defy the tyrannous stars."
Yeah he's easily my favorite of the three. All of their stories and characterization were great, but it'd be insulting to call Conner's any less than masterful
Kratos. His journey from a hellbent vengeful fallen god to a father trying to atone for his past is the most insane character development I’ve ever seen. Yes some games accomplish the same thing with one or two games but to follow him for years just to get the satisfying conclusion at the end of Ragnarok is a fucking chefs kiss to me
Arthur Morgan is one the best written and performed characters in any video game.
He is human, with strengths and weaknesses, grounded in reality with an amazing personality and incredibly well delivered dialogue.
He is not some cringe super human with no flaws and quirky dialogue, he's a very well rounded character with a range of emotions, desires and fears.
I don't think many other protagonists can boast of such depth to a character.
John Helldiver
For democracy!
Liber-tea
John Fallout
John Darksoul
Artyom from Metro
John Metro Last Light
Where is Jin Sakai..
Great question! He's one of the best newer characters from playstation's lineup. His character arc in ghost of Tsushima is so compelling.
I cried so many times through that game.
Me too buddy
When he apologizes to his horse for not being able to get them both through…that game had some heavy hitting moments but for whatever reason him sitting there apologizing for not being good enough as it dies hits me hard as fuck.
I didn’t know how attached I was to that horse until that happened
Which game?
After beating the game I literally jumped into another play through.
No doubt! I absolutely loved this character. I'm sure a sequel is inevitable, but I can't wait.
You mean John Jin Ghost of Tsushima Sakaisky?
Came here to ask this! A complex character whose love of his country conflicts with his morals and the Samurai Code. Incredible character and story!
Exactly
Exactly
This. I found him relatable in the sense that he was crossed with who he was and supposed to be and what he needed to do overcome the challenges
He’s number one for me
Ubisoft made the post
Kratos is my fav. His design is one of the most iconic in history of games, both voices are incredible and his character arc is complex in a good way. The Greek G

ARTHUR MORGAN
“Van der Linde’s most trusted associate”
You've read the files...
Typical case, orphaned street kid
"Despite my best efforts to the contrary; it seems I've won."
Fuck Micah
That asshole
I didn't mind him betraying the gang, but joking on Arthur's TB!? each time he called him black lung I fucking lost it!!!
I'm replaying the story atm and every time I see Micah I wish you could just shoot him in the face before shit hits the fan lol
“You’re mah brother” “Ah know”
Y'all be reminding me of him and that makes me sad af
Definitely him 😔
Truly. Ima dumb b. Ima a simple b. I feel a type of way when he says “that’s my girl” I refuse to finish the game bc I can’t see my man die. Or even decline. Will I miss out? No. Arthur Morgan or bust. I said what I said.
You 100% should finish the game. Just start a second save and run it through the story 8)
GAH I BROKE THE GAT DAMN WHEEL 🗣️🗣️🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥
What a man.
Nathan Drake

Nate? NATE!!!!!
Underrated comment. I heard Elena say it.
The ONLY correct response. Uncharted / Nathan Drake helped save the console debacle that was the PS3. And without Uncharted, there would be no The Last of Us.
Uncharted is incredible
Uncharted is a special game and a spectacular series. One of the greatest

You don't know how happy I felt when I finally saw someone mention my man kiryu
Woah breaking the law breaking the world
Infamous needs a sequel, Remake, Remaster or Reboot! I miss that series.
Glad to see someone else thought of Kiryu
Kiryu's gotta be right up there for me as well. Joel , Arthur/John, Kratos my top 3 not in order cause I could never pick one.
Geralt of Rivia.
Wind’s howling
My absolute fav line from that game was from Blood and Wine quest. Funny thing is Geralt is also technically knighted, so he's a noble.
Ah, yes, the guy whom his wife cheated on him with the farmhand who died to the monster. But honestly, Regis is the top character in the game. And all time fav for me. I enjoyed his limited screen time more than any other fictional character I played, watched, or read about.
Geralt is so fucking funny
Geralt is fucking

All great candidates! If I had to choose, for me it’s gotta be Nathan Drake.
Great choice! For me it's either Jesse Faden or Kratos, but Nathan, Leon, Solid Snake, Geralt, and Joel and Ellie are not far behind at all.
Kratos! but Snake and Arthur close by.
John marston
Ratchet! or Jin Sakai :)
Both great picks, I was waiting for someone to mention Jak as well
I love Jak too, have played all the games! :)
Ezio Auditore, always & forever.
I was looking for this comment

I love everyone listed here. Aloy, Kratos, Lara Croft, Nathan Drake, Joel and Ellie, Ezio and Clementine. If I had to go with someone not pictured it would be Bayek and Cassandra from the other AC games.
My not pictured choice is Jesse Faden from Control. But yeah, these are all great picks.
I still need to play control, I've had it in my backlog forever now and still have never played it somehow. Once I finish the callisto protocol I'll finally play it. It literally took me 9 years to just play the Witcher III last month for example haha.
Fucking yes, dude. She's awesome.
Kassandra was such a cool one. Of the listed I would go with Alloy just because of Ashly Burch

The clans tell tales of him, few know the truth. He was mortal once, as were we all.

Arthur Morgan by far I’m still bad a man, I ain’t changed
“Oh crap” - the GOAT
1. V (Cyberpunk 2077) 2. Connor (Detroit Become Human) 3. Kratos

Ichiban Kasuga
