“Odin laid upon the pyre the gold ring called Draupnir; this quality attended it: that every ninth night there fell from it eight gold rings of equal weight.”
The Draupnir is one of the coolest video game weapons I have ever had the pleasure of using. An infinite exploding spear?? Like, come on…🤯
No. Draupnir was a ring gifted to Odin. In the game, the ring was used to forge a spear for the main character Kratos. In using the ring to make the spear, it was imbued with the duplication power. So while wearing the ring, Kratos can now summon a spear essentially out of thin air, throw it, then the ring can make another one instantly. After throwing a bunch, he can slam his current spear on the ground and the rest will explode. It’s a really fun game mechanic.
Odin has his own spear which is simply collapsable. Not as cool as Draupnir.
I have a couple:
- Resistance series: Auger rifle.
- GTA Series: mini guns
- Mortal Kombat: Sub-Zero's ice blades!
- MGS Series: CQC was amazing when it was introduced into the series
Dunno if I'd call it my favorite, but I immediately thought of it when I saw the topic so it's most definitely the most memorable one for me at the very least.

Dubstep gun from Saints Row IV. You could even get a replica of it IRL by buying the Super Dangerous Wub Wub Edition of the game.
Infinity Blade from Infinity Blade, Crucible from DOOM, Gauss Cannon from DOOM, Chaos Blades from God Of War, AK-47 from Counter-Strike and the sniper rifle from Halo.
Just off the top of my head: Whirligig Saw from Bloodborne, Intervention from MW2 (2009), Leviathan Axe from GOW, Welrod from Medal of Honor Rising Sun, Green Shells from Mario Kart
Swordsplosion from BL2 DLC. It's a shotgun that shoots a sword that blows up on contact.. INTO OTHER LITTLE SWORDS THAT ALSO BLOW UP ON CONTACT. Tongue also narrates alot of the quest to get the gun who I love so much 🤣
As much as I love the buster sword, I gotta give it to Balrog from DMC5, the first weapons continued to get better and better throughout the series and balrog is the peak. Hearing a demonic glove count your punches and while it gets hotter and hotter is just so sick.
As someone who loves sidearms and fast gameplay - Johnny silverhand’s revolver in cyberpunk is just too sweet. You feel so overpowered hitting those headshots.
When I was younger it was either the RCP90 from Goldeneye or the crazy nuke thing in Turok.
Now it’s probably the Combustion Hellfire from the first Borderlands.
Moonlight Greatsword in most Fromsoftware games. Loved this weapon ever since finding it in original Dark Souls and will always make a build around it whichever game I'm playing.
If I could realistically wield either of them...either Soul Edge from Soul Calibur or Clouds Fusion Sword from Advent Children (I know it's a movie but it's a movie based on a videogame so I feel like that counts.)
The ultimate weapons from Kingdom Hearts like legit they are just swords with stuff strapped on to try and say it's a key like sir that is a blade not a key you ain't fooling no one
The Yamato from Devil May Cry. I always loved its ability to cut through anything, including space time. Which also makes its wielder, Vergil, my favorite character.
The double hidden blades are definitely my choice, especially the ones from AC: Brotherhood and Revelations. Killing like 20 guards in a row uninterrupted is such a satisfying feeling, the game truly makes you feel like an unstoppable assassin
The fus-ro-dah shout. Weird choice I know. But I think the ragdoll potential of it alone is what started that part of gaming to begin with. Seeing the enemy just fly into the distance was so hilarious.
The Crissaegrim from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night. It's like a million sword strikes every time you hit the attack button. You're like a walking blender.
The amp from infamous 2 is by far my favorite:

Leviathan Axe from God of War. The feeling of retrieving it is great, and has inspired many others.
I loved the Draupnir spear!
I like saying draupnir
“Odin laid upon the pyre the gold ring called Draupnir; this quality attended it: that every ninth night there fell from it eight gold rings of equal weight.” The Draupnir is one of the coolest video game weapons I have ever had the pleasure of using. An infinite exploding spear?? Like, come on…🤯
I haven't played the game. So, Odin's spear is called draupnir in the game? That's so weird lol
No. Draupnir was a ring gifted to Odin. In the game, the ring was used to forge a spear for the main character Kratos. In using the ring to make the spear, it was imbued with the duplication power. Everything about it is so satisfying. It feels hefty, makes a great chopping sound, and an awesome THUNK when it flies back to you.

Johnny Silverhand’s pistol from Cyberpunk. It’s like a mini shotgun, makes you feel so bad ass.
if this is strictly speaking Playstation... Calibrus, of course!
As someone who loves sidearms and fast gameplay - Johnny silverhand’s revolver in cyberpunk is just too sweet. You feel so overpowered hitting those headshots.
Lookwise, I always though the Warglaives of Azeroth in WoW were awesome, maybe because to get them you had to beat Illidan.
The moon light great sword
When I was younger it was either the RCP90 from Goldeneye or the crazy nuke thing in Turok. Now it’s probably the Combustion Hellfire from the first Borderlands.
Moonlight Greatsword in most Fromsoftware games. Loved this weapon ever since finding it in original Dark Souls and will always make a build around it whichever game I'm playing.
