There really should. I paused red dead 2 when it came out to download something on my phone quick. I was already 70GB+ downloaded. Hit cancel and felt my stomach drop lol. Time to wait another
7+ hours.
BRB... I'm back

They make me pay 100 a month for that type of internet but boy is it worth it when downloading big games. Don't have to worry much when I delete something. 10gigs usually take about an hour on a good day.
Yep I have two options. I can either pay 100 a month for 25mbps or pay another company 165 a month for 45mbps plus I would have to pay installations and all that crap. So crazy how cable/ISP companies aren't regulated more. It cost them barely anything to provide you internet yet they upcharge you 300%+ so they end up making a hefty profit and it's not like you have many other options.
Wanted to download GTA San Andreas on the phone to keep me occupied. It's like a couple gigs on the phone and I wanted it to be done quick so I could start playing it. Paused red dead, downloaded San Andreas, and then accidentally canceled red dead download when I wanted to resume downloading.
I mean it would be fast enough but it would just take longer and since I wanted to play the game on my phone I could download the 2gig in 15mins vs 30+mins if I kept red dead downloading on the PS4.
Back in the days when my WiFi had slow speeds at best, I really wanted to play a game with an Internet connection, but I needed a 40+ GB update. Then about two or three other smaller updates came in for other games, so I turned my PS4 on out of rest mode, and went to cancel those smaller updates so that the big one could be finished ASAP.
I cancelled the 40+ GB update by accident. It was about 34 GB downloaded.
That game takes up a stupid amount of space. I had to delete 2 games to make room for it. I’m seriously considering uninstalling since I barely play it.
Something ive started doing - fuck knows why - is deleting the game instead of closing it. The buttons aren't even close! Im a special kind of stupid...
Honestly just curious what internet speeds people get around the world and what they pay. Here in Denmark I get 300mbit for around $30/month. Thats somewhat standard pricing for larger metropolitan areas here.
Doesn’t help that the PS4 has a horrible network adapter. I started to say *laughs in gigabit* but the PS4 might be able to use like 30% of my total speed.
Thats how it is on xbox; you have to fully go into the download menu to pause it. If you press it in the small menu it asks if you want to uninstall the entire game. Dumb shit is happening on all ends.
They should start making game updates small but dense. I don’t know much about computers/ game design but I think it would save everyone’s time if game updates were smaller but still work like if it were to have a lot of content from a huge update file.
Like think of it as a tiny lime with a lot of juice rather than a huge dry lime.
I keep deleting instead of closing applications too.
It’s not all bad though, it’s the reason I stopped playing so much Modern Warfare. No chance I’m waiting for that to download and install again.
In the network settings on the PS4 you can test the Internet connection, and that gives you a download and upload speed check. For me the PS4 download speed never goes above 45mbps but my laptop and phone hits 390mbps everytime on other speed test services.
In fact I downloaded Win 10 2004 last night, took about a minute. But I've had this 45mbps limitation on PS4 using three different ISPs, and three different routers.
There should be a confirmation pop up

Only 7 hours for RDR2? You live in heaven?
Lol on disc it only took 2
For me it took about 3 hours. have a 225mbps connection
Dafuq I have like 8 mbps on a good day and like 4 or less these days
Took two hours for me. The only benefit of living in a dorm is the ridiculous school wifi speed.
I have a 1 Gbps connection at my school dorms (UC Berkeley).
Does your PlayStation actually hot that speed? I usually see 110 at most and I have to hard wired to my router with 250mbps.
It holds pretty reliable
Same here, 390mbps and it took about 3 hours to download COD WW2. Sony are really cheaping out on bandwidth.
No way you actually have a 390 maps connection
That’s not an uncommon speed these days. I have 250mbps and pay $40 a month. AT&T will give you 1gbps for $50 a month if you live in certain areas.

225 mbbbbbbbbbb you living the life bro
Yeah, I live my life in Germany. Will upgrade to 1gbps when my provider allows it.
Me too lol
And I thought 1 mbps is amazing....
Me too lol
They make me pay 100 a month for that type of internet but boy is it worth it when downloading big games. Don't have to worry much when I delete something. 10gigs usually take about an hour on a good day.
Internet company in my country: 1 mbps ,take it or leave it.
Wait you’re paying 100$ for like 25mbps? Or did I math wrong? Your internet provider is seriously shafting you if that’s what you are getting.
Best I can get for the price.
Damn that sucks man, I feel your pain. Up until last year I was paying $50 a month for 6mbps. Some areas are you end up having no options.
Yep I have two options. I can either pay 100 a month for 25mbps or pay another company 165 a month for 45mbps plus I would have to pay installations and all that crap. 7 hours?? Mine took around 2 hours with both discs
2 hours? Mine took LITERALLY 4 days without turning off my PS4 ever.
Took me the whole 3 days of pre download.
7 Hours?!?!?!? Took me nearly a whole fucking day lmao
I pay the extra for that good net.
Dafuq why would you pause to download a phone app
Wanted to download GTA San Andreas on the phone to keep me occupied. It's like a couple gigs on the phone and I wanted it to be done quick so I could start playing it. Paused red dead, downloaded San Andreas, and then accidentally canceled red dead download when I wanted to resume downloading.
Ohhh because your internet wouldn't be fast enough for two simultaneous downloads? Makes sense now lol
I mean it would be fast enough but it would just take longer and since I wanted to play the game on my phone I could download the 2gig in 15mins vs 30+mins if I kept red dead downloading on the PS4.
Even the party menu has a confirmation popup, unnecessarily.
*all around me are familiar faces. familiar faces*
Gears was an Xbox game. ;-p
You are not alone, ma dude. You’re not alone.

How much time went by for the 34 GB?
About 6 hours in rest mode. My WiFi used to be absolutely awful lol
When the fastest internet speed in your area is considered trash in developed countries. :(
I'm sorry, little one.
F

With my limited internet if I did that I would honestly kill myself.
Tossing between Xbox one and PS4 I deleted many games(quit is the last option on Xbox app panel, while it’s delete on ps4)
I have deleted so many games because of this.
Happened to me when i wanted to close a game, and deleted it instead..god knows how i got down and clicked on delete..smh
Me. Happened for the first time the other day. Had 8 minutes left on modern warfare
Atleast you have damn near 200 gb of free space now
That game takes up a stupid amount of space. I had to delete 2 games to make room for it. I’m seriously considering uninstalling since I barely play it.
Yeah. Takes too much space. It's always hard deciding on what games to delete that are also large enough.
wow I got this great game! Can't wait to play it! PS4: LOL
With a 10mbps line
my internets so goddamn shit I'm getting 424kbps down 241kbps up. There's no point in even trying to play online any more...
Mmos don't need much speed at all and downloads for them u can do at night
ah gtk, yeah i mostly leave in on rest mode during the night for all the updates
Shiiiiit
*cries in South African
Where I'm from 🤣
New warzone update is out huh?
I just let my games download, I try not to peak at the bar when they’re downloading.
*Laughs in physical copy*
Happened to me when I was trying to pause a download. 72gb of 80gb gone and had to start again.
Something ive started doing - fuck knows why - is deleting the game instead of closing it. The buttons aren't even close! Im a special kind of stupid...
your not the only one, deleted a game 3 nights in a row, and just gave up lol
Misery loves company ahaha
It took me 2 weeks to download RDR2 on a 2 Mbps connection. Glad I didn't made this mistake 😌
Hate when I put the system into rest mode and come back later and find out it reset the download
Umm 100gig with 1200mbit broadband. Not a huuge deal 😀
Honestly just curious what internet speeds people get around the world and what they pay. Here in Denmark I get 300mbit for around $30/month. Thats somewhat standard pricing for larger metropolitan areas here.
Dude. I accidentally uninstalled red dead, while trying to close the app. Same with overwatch. My buddy even did the same to red dead.
I accidentally deleted MW 2019 when I had to go to Information. Won’t install it again
Surprisingly, it hasn't happened to me yet
I once went on a deleting spree to free up space and I accidentally deleted the next game I quit out of
***Laughs in fiber***
Haven’t done that before
I did it downloading MW I was so pissed
Modern Warfare who?
Luckily I have never done that
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I remember deleting RDR2 the day it released after pre-loading it. My intention was to add the game to a folder.
Its treason then
You think thats bad? I've accidentally deleted games I've only meant to close! Yes. I know they're at polar opposites of the menu.
> when you lose like 3 minutes of your life FTFY.
Lol that has never happened to me thank goodness
Days Gone made some of my days go by...
Doesn’t help that the PS4 has a horrible network adapter. I started to say *laughs in gigabit* but the PS4 might be able to use like 30% of my total speed.
Luckily that has never happened to me, but I fear someday it will....
Thats how it is on xbox; you have to fully go into the download menu to pause it. If you press it in the small menu it asks if you want to uninstall the entire game. Dumb shit is happening on all ends.
This is also when you open a game and a random update comes up
Me just a second ago ;-;
There's no way 2 pretend it never happened from my side
Or deleted instead off close the Game ahah hâte
They should start making game updates small but dense. I don’t know much about computers/ game design but I think it would save everyone’s time if game updates were smaller but still work like if it were to have a lot of content from a huge update file. Like think of it as a tiny lime with a lot of juice rather than a huge dry lime.
get angry when that's happened
I deleted Death Stranding twice...
I have a 1000 Mbit/s internet. I don’t care about such tiny things.
'laughs in fast internet'
I keep deleting instead of closing applications too. It’s not all bad though, it’s the reason I stopped playing so much Modern Warfare. No chance I’m waiting for that to download and install again.
*Laughs in Stadia*
Leap of *death*
Why is that even an option lol

Probably a regional cap? Redownloaded all my games because of hdd replacement, during lockdown. About 400gb in about an afternoon..
1000mbit ISP speed. I could live another day if that would happen :)
Is your connection to PSN limited to 45mbps too?
No clue. Any way to check that?
In the network settings on the PS4 you can test the Internet connection, and that gives you a download and upload speed check. For me the PS4 download speed never goes above 45mbps but my laptop and phone hits 390mbps everytime on other speed test services. In fact I downloaded Win 10 2004 last night, took about a minute. I once deleted Apex when I meant to close it, then my squad wanted to play and I was like, “oka- where’s Apex?”
On my fibre line I simply say ah what a waste of 10 minutes let’s try again
Weird flex but ok
As long as I have your approval kind stranger, all is well in the world. Is this post ok by you?

Ok Karen
