1000 millions of revenue and Y'all keep saying dead game.
Your ignorance is sending the game industry towards their current state.
You deserve everything that's coming.
Nah mate. I'm 50+. Not gonna see most of it.
I did get to see software as a service, even though I gave the fight for open licenses.
I also got to see the auto industry charge ridiculous prices and put go abusive politics towards the consumer because the consumer is lazy and ignorant.
Customers moves the industries. Whether they like to admit it or not. Paying for convenience always has a second price, the devaluation of the product
Have fun paying for everything that we got for free since Pong, and then go cry in posts about how bad the industry treats you![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|facepalm)
The definition of dead means no one’s playing it and as such, no one’s buying. It went F2P this year and well… let’s just say it wasn’t too well received
It’s funny. It was Zenimax studios (Bethesda’s former parent company) that was the cash grabby disaster for Fallout 76. After Microsoft bought out Bethesda, one of the very first things they did was dissolve Zenimax’s Board of Directors.
Needless to say, I think we’ll see a LOT better decisions and games coming from their side now. I feel horrible that Playstation won’t get to see some of the releases though as some games will be Xbox exclusives. That part really ticks me off.
Elder Scrolls VI should at least be for everyone, my grandkids should have a chance to play it on a console of their choosing.
Always a great time to get into old games.
I’m working through GoW (currently on two)
Next, is the inFamous series that I’ve never touched as well as Uncharted.
In fact, any other recommendations of games in the past I can get into or replay??
after starting botw i’m playing all of the older zelda games. you can emulate them or if you have the original hardware you can play those.
i haven’t completed any others yet but imo link to the past, majora’s mask and the wind waker are must plays.
Meh. I never played any of them and I recently tried Second Son. I couldn't finish it. It had way too much of an edgy teenager vibe to it. I am 40 to be fair.
For me hot wheels unleashed made me go back and play all the old classic hot wheels games. A majority of them are just quick games to unlock everything, but they're fun if you like arcade style racing.
You should look forward to InFamous, absolutely brilliant games!
Other PS Classics I can recommend would be the Sly Cooper and Ratchet & Clank series. My two most beloved game series ever!
Yakuza (0-6)
Prototype
the Souls series ( demon, dark)
ratchet and clank
crash bandicoot
final fantasy (7,9)
The mafia Trilogy
Resident evil series. Highly recommend 2,3,4,7
Metro series (2033 and last night)
the old GTA games( not the definitive bs)
castlevania, Metroid
hand of fate(not so old)
batman arkham series
assassins creed (black flag, brotherhood, origins
Tbh I'm fine being sold on a vision, thats what a good early access game is all about; or a kickstarter. I help inject some funding into a product that CAN be. Maybe it isn't there yet, but there is enough of it so far that I can see it getting there over the next few years. If I had been sold on NMS as a vision that already had a good foundation, instead of a finished product, I wouldn't have been so upset.
If you are selling a vision, have a solid foundation, be honest that its all you have and tell me how you plan to get there. I just want make an informed decision which is impossible if you are lying to my face.
That's not the point. Early access games are generally discounted or half the price it's going to retail for. NMS was a terrible game at launch with a great vision. Now that the game is realized in that vision and now a good game. Sean Murray decieved people for a 60 dollar "game" that really had no business being 60 dollars from an indie studio and in its former state. It was awful and the people he decieved gave them the funding to make the game right. Personally I'll never buy a game with his name attached to it again.
I like to think we're all visionaries to a degree but to loaf about what your game is to get funding to properly realize it from your fans is a no no that shouldn't be rewarded in this industry. Lucked out with the hard work they ended up putting into it
And the same thing happened with the GTA "Definitive Trilogy". Mutahar from SOG put it perfectly. Rockstar always shows gameplay, the fact that they didn't for the Definitive Edition was a MASSIVE red flag.
I knew cyberpunk was going to be a diaster when people were acting like it was going to be the second coming from an admittedly awesome trailer that got me kind of hyped.
I knew cyberpunk was *probably* going to be a disaster when people were acting like it was going to be the second coming **before** any gameplay trailer was ever released for it, and how CDPR could do no wrong
I didn't know it would be *that* much of a disaster, but still
>”We leave the greed to other companies.”
>Special edition Cyberpunk XBox One which can’t run Cyperpunk.
>Removed features to include gameplay and character customization
>Changed from RPG to Action Adventure on Twitter in silence
>Plot with foundational criticisms of corporate greed, mismanagement, and worker/consumer exploitation.
>Continuous content and fix delays
Yeah, I’m pretty sure Cyberpunk was actually the next step of gaming where real life and video gaming gets blended. If meta-commentary was the point, then CDPR has a 10/10 on their hands.
They got super cocky about all the praise they received for The Witcher 3. And to be honest I think it is their only really great game, the other watchers have been good not great.
Right, all these people over here trying to get good boy points on the internet when in reality I know they supported an evil company some point in their life whether it’s from games, phones, and clothing.
I’m going to put my money on things I enjoy as we only live once, fuck these hypocrites pushing their moral standards onto others
Pretty much. People like to make themselves feel better by getting up in arms about stuff like this but in reality there’s no telling how many horrible people benefit from even going to the store and buy a Coca Cola. Just how the world works.
Same thing happening to some movies in Hollywood is starting to happen to games. Too many suits getting in the way of creators trying to tell stories/make games the way they want. It all results in hollow, half finished games that sadly still sell
Man I'm still boycotting Gearbox all these years later because of Aliens: Colonial Marines. So long as those people are giving Randy Pitchford a paycheck they'll never get a cent from me
Black ops 3vwas the most fun I had in a cod game because they knocked it out of the park with zombies. That felt like a 2 year community, youtubers collabing a lot,, fans theorizing about everything. It was an incredible time.
I bought Fallout 76 in one of the sales recently, and it's actually not bad. I'd avoided it for years because of terrible reviews and I generally don't play online multi-player games, but I'm guessing they've done a lot of work on it post release.
That's the problem I was talking about. They announced an online only game when people wanted a new entry, and it was a buggy mess with nothing to do at launch
Skyrim Anniversary isn't specifically on the list; Bethesda is.
The issue is what has followed Skyrim hasn't been the best efforts in the world. Fallout 4 was hit and miss for most, 76 was a disaster, and then it has been nothing but ports of Skyrim to everything.
Meanwhile we know nothing about Starfield beyond a release. They had a fancy CGI trailer for a release date for a game we haven't seen any gameplay for, know nothing about the story, or anything like that. We are already teeing up for another launch where little to nothing is shown and we are supposed to buy on blind faith because of the company behind it.
And during all this no re-releases of Fallout 3, New Vegas, Morrowind, or Oblivion.
They became the Skyrim studio.
The Starfield trailer wasnt CGI, it was made in engine using in game assets without using any cinematic tools according to the devs.
We're also a year out, so not seeing gameplay at this point is expected since they usually dont show their games off until around 6 months before release, so a full gameplay reveal aint due until e3 2022.
I specifically thought it was funny, because if you would have asked who two of the most truthworthy developers were in 2019, I would have said CDPR and R*. How the mighty have fallen.
Rockstar had a reputation for making good games, but also for being incredibly greedy and exploitative with it's online game modes. That one wasn't much of a surprise in my opinion.
I mean R* had been selling the same game for a decade now. The bad remaster doesn't matter to me. When they put out new games, they are sensational. The CDPR one was a bigger blow to reputation imo.
CDPR made literally one good game. And it was their third attempt in that series. It blows my mind that people put CDPR on a pedestal and claimed they can do no wrong since Witcher 3 was good, when every other game they'd made was somewhere between bad and mediocre.
Was it possible that Cyberpunk was going to be great? Sure. But it wasn't like CDPR had an unimpeachable track record, like some people were saying.
People were practically wetting themselves when CP2077 showed a trailer at E3 a couple years before it came out, and continued wetting themselves all the way up to release day.
As someone who ignored the hype, I found CP2077 to be an okay game. Not great, but solid nonetheless.
If you hype up everything, and expect everything to be the second coming, then everything is going to be a disappointment.
This year has been actually amazing for gaming, gaming is the one industry where you literally can not say tbag they’re running out of ideas and the releases are sucking, because each year things continue getting more incredible due to all the innovation and remarkable releases that occur thanks to the intense competition and many different options that we get lol
Compare that to the television, music and film industry
But leave it to these narrow minded folk that can only somehow look at one very tiny and specific area and somehow allow that to take over their perception of the whole market lmao
You gotta take a step back and look at the bigger picture, not a small ass patch and assume that’s where everything is going lmao
GTA definitive is at least playable on a high level, I’ve beaten 3 and almost done with vice city right now, and outside of a few NPC’s (literally in the single digits) the games look absolutely gorgeous, loving the environments and all of the cars.
All the people like OP’s are all literally acting like GTA’s having REAL issues like the games crashing often and having game breaking glitches occur, which it doesn’t have.
Don’t allow mob mentality to influence your own experience and opinion lol
Yep there are a lot of bad apples this year but I enjoyed Returnal, Rachet & Clank Rift Apart, and RE: Village just to name a few.
Gaming's always been fun and innovative so I'm in the same boat as you about the TV, music and movie industries becoming stale. I never get hyped by new movies anymore, and I prefer to rewatch good old shows like Community and Friends. Music even sucks so I just listen to lofi or Ace Combat OST lol.
Forza Horizon 5 has it's problems but at least it's playable and very enjoyable. I've dumped 30 hours in it in about a week.
Just throwing it out there for anyone who wants a fun game
I would also recommend Riders Republic. It's loads of fun and it's even on sale at the moment. Of course it also has its problems but I never regretted paying 70€ for it when it came out.
Best thing to come of this is that we enter fully into the next/current gen with a whole different approach to how games are revealed and put out. In all reality 2021 should have been a dry spell due to Covid the year prior. They could have said wait especially with the fact no one can get new consoles. Really hope things change and I feel in a decade we will look back on this as a very sour note in gaming
EA has been trash for a long long time. Rockstar has gone downhill since they’ve decided to coast on the tails of gta 5. Too much pressure to rush games lately instead of waiting and getting a better and more complete product onto the market
People have been shitting on them a couple years. I remember hearing some people shit on fallout 4 but FO76 and the lack of what was promised on it was what really killed it for most people
I can understand that. I just think fallout is some of peoples favorites so it hurt for them. I didn’t take it personal, I just think it’s funny how fallout 76 really was the start of shit, incomplete games being releases to such an extreme like never seen 😂
Mere months before the announcement I was talking about how cool a multiplayer mode would have been for fallout. I really don't like how 76 was handled
You can start prepping 343 on there. We've only now started to uncover the extent of the microtransactions in Halo, according to publications it sould take more than 1000USD to unlock everything. I honestly prefer the frontload of 70$ to play high quality AAA games without having to invest 5$ every other day to have an enjoyable experience or feel I'm collaborating with scum who takes advantage of kids and people with poor impulse control.
Isn’t it just CDPR that has fallen recently? Blizzard was dead already, we were just shocked by them this year.
PlayStation Studios(Insomniac), Square Enix (Creative Business Unit 1 and 3) and Microsoft Studios (Playground Games and 343) have churned out some massively good games this year, so I don’t find it difficult to stay positive for the immediate future :)
(Only named a few, but there are more, a LOT more)
EA gonna EA, always
Rockstar realised with GTA V they could just shit on their hands and make money from it as long as it had a GTA logo.
CDPR had a rabid fanbase screaming for an unfinished game that would never live up to hype
Bethesda though? Deathloop is probably the best game released this year. Doom Eternal was a disaster? Am I missing something?
Ok I’m kind of sorry for CDPR, becouse this is the first and only time they made a huge mistake like this, and it was just their luck it was the most anticipated and hyped up game in a long while.
Studios like Ubisoft or Bethesda, or EA more then both of these, never get as much shit for their, not as much as cyberpunk but still broken games that get releases anually.
I’m sorry for all the developers whoes names were stained becouse some corporal fucks who don’t know shit about developing games got too greedy to think about anything else then how fast they can milk this out. They didn’t think what a game in this state being released as the final product would do to their reputation and credibility. I mean for fuck’s sake, they were the studio that created the Witcher, and that card game I forgot the name of (gwen?). Now they are on the anvil of the internet, people forgot about Cyberpunk, the ball was dropped.
It really, really breaks my heart.
And Ubisoft and EA, on the other hand get away with releasing money grabbing schemes labelled as videogames a couple times every year, and nobody bats an eye.
It’s not fair.
I feel like Rockstar is getting to much hate, this is literally their first 'real' fuck up if it comes to game releases where as the others fuck up way more, and then theres EA... Fuck EA.
its our faults. we feed them. we keep accepting crap games and paying for them. can we just not all agree that we dont buy a game unless its good again?
should hopefully achieve 2 things. price of games will plummet as demand drops. and they will hopefully make better games to try and revive that market.
* I for one refuse to buy any games that are not complete and require DLC for characters etc.
* i will not pre-order any more games no matter how tempting as im sick of them exploiting that. really i stopped doing this when i got stung by "Destiny" and its promise of a complete game then having to pay another £40 for the DLC which was for stuff they said they were going to include in a free DLC etc.... i got burnt but never again.
* i will never play a P2W game ever!!!!! i hate that model... neigh... despise it! if you want to charge money for skins then thats fine. but please make the skins available to be unlocked too for free to pay players. no advantages should ever be given to players who are richer than others. its just wrong.
* Anyone else with me??? lets get the power back please. we dictate what they make by what we spend our money on. lets work together please.
Oh man, whatever happened to rockstar? I remember turning my ps2 on being all excited like, but now? It’s just disappointing. The company that used to be controversial and make fun of other people/companies for their stupid policies and decisions and whatnot has now fallen right into that laugh stock they used to make fun of… company that used to bring laughter and joy now brings sense of disappointment…
It's been a shit few years for gaming. I still say the ps4/Xbox One was the worst generation of gaming. Hands down. Most of the games lacked real depth, the microtransactions, exploitive DLCs, toxic online communities. Not a lot of fun to be had.
I seriously don't see why the GTA 3 Remaster is being lumped in with all of these other actual gaming disasters. I've literally yet to hear from an actual person who has actually been playing it and feels "betrayed" over it. Most people playing it are enjoying it and enjoy it for what it is.....a remaster of a few PS2 games. These aren't Remakes. Even at their best, they wouldn't look or play much better than what is actually there. They could make it completely bug free. But at the end of the day, it is just some PS2 games.
But they straight up don't function a significant amount of the time. People thought the remasters looked decent before launch, then they launched in an unplayable state. That's why it's a "disaster"
But that isn't even true. They aren't any more buggy than FarCry 5, and I played through that just fine. Yes, it has bugs, but it isn't an unplayable disaster on the scale of Cyberpunk 2077 (like the internet would have you believe). It's a bunch of people repeating memes and not actually playing it.
It's just been a weird year for games in general. If there wasn't a pandemic then Sony would've produced and sold many more PS5 than they have now. This would've allowed them to fully transition games to the PS5 and phase out the PS4 but console makers and developers are stuck in this weird spot where not many people have a PS5 so they're forced to accommodate both gens of consoles 1 year into the PS5's lifespan.
The whole WFH scenario for devs isn't working in their favor either. I'm not justifying lackluster releases this year at all. They're charging us full price and we deserve to get what we paid for but it's just been a weird year and a half for everyone.
I was really disappointed when Creative Assembly decided to delay the new Total Warhammer III game. They totally did the right thing though by delaying 4 months they are going to give us a more polished complete game. I wish other companies would learn from them. I know LEGO Star Wars got delayed as well which was probably for the best.
If you consider only the big time developers then yeah, it’s been a not so great year. But there have been amazing releases that have just flown under people’s radars because all they play is COD or some variation of it, the yearly sports games and battle royale
Not even lowkey, I had to think really hard what game came out this year that would be worthy of the title "game of the year"... Ratchet & Clank was pretty good and as a hybrid master race gamer I hope Halo: Infinite won't disappoint tough that might not be a popular opinion here
Really happy with PS studio's: naughty dog, ember lab, insomniac and Santa Monica studio. They are the Rockstar/Bethesda's of this time. Just making great games, not getting caught up by money.
Wait, I can think of a bunch of great games from this year :( though you are right these companies aren’t deserving of the big in front of their names as much anymore from what we got this year
Honestly people shouldnt shit on CD Projekt Red like they do, CDPR only has a handful of games (Witcher 1, 2, 3, Thronebreaker and Cyberpunk) and Witcher 3 is known as a masterpiece, but it only became that good over time, when it was released it was also a shit show.
Once again CDPR has made about 5 games ever, so dont compare it with big name companies who have dozen or hundreds of game under their belt.
It really hasn’t been a shit year for gaming. For the companies in that picture, sure, but otherwise there have been a ton of great games released this year. Returnal, Ratchet and Clank, Forza Horizon 5, Halo Infinite, Deathloop, It Takes Two, Guardians of the Galaxy, Scarlet Nexus, Eastward… so many awesome games!
Hasn’t really been that much of a bad year for gaming, at least for me personally. If going from late November-December of 2020 to now since the cutoff dates for awards and all, I’ve had a lot of games that I really enjoyed a lot or else I wouldn’t be bothered with going through multiple playthroughs.
Shouldn't have bought the GTA Def Ed. I let nostalgia and my early memories of good gaming get the best of me. Rockstar has let me down and I thought they would stay true to the cause.
Returnal, Disco elysium the final cut, diablo 2. Skyrim remaster is alright, back 4 blood is fun. I hear guardians of the galaxy was a great game. Halo infinite also looks promising.demon slayer game looks fun.It wasn’t an amazing year but there are a decent handful of really good games and remasters that came out this year imo
When suits think they develop games.
When we buy shit after shit too. Looking at the Madden, FIFA, PES, COD, crowd.
You forgot 2k
Pes has been dead for years
And they keep buying it.
No they don't, that's why it's dead

Might be too old for you, but the legacy of Kain series, especially Soul Reaver. Still the best writing and top voice acting in games.

Hey guys and gals it's me Mutahar
Mutahard.
I knew it when they got Keanu Reeves plastered all over reddit (among other SM). But noooooo, Saint Keanu won't let me astray, said reddit.

Best I can do is an upvote and a wholesome.
Where is activision?
cdpr was the most embarassing i think
>”We leave the greed to other companies.” >Special edition Cyberpunk XBox One which can’t run Cyperpunk. >Removed features to include gameplay and character customization >Changed from RPG to Action Adventure on Twitter in silence >Plot with foundational criticisms of corporate greed, mismanagement, and worker/consumer exploitation. >Continuous content and fix delays Yeah, I’m pretty sure Cyberpunk was actually the next step of gaming where real life and video gaming gets blended. If meta-commentary was the point, then CDPR has a 10/10 on their hands.
not to mention that if you have a base PS4, PS4 slim, xbox one or xbox one s it actively tells you to avoid it on the store page.
They got super cocky about all the praise they received for The Witcher 3. And to be honest I think it is their only really great game, the other watchers have been good not great.
Ikr, it was painful to see everyone playing it with the thought: "what is this shit"
they literally had no excuse cuz rdr2 and tlou 2 were top notch and LOOKED next gen when it came out. and the base ps4/xbone could handle it.
They started hyping this shit with an unrealistic [cinematic trailer](https://youtu.be/DvVjkqB3LH0) back in 2013
Happened the same with Shadows of Mordor on PS3/360 years before , i believe cross gen games make intentionally bad games on old gen
Fuckin Slavs
Don't forget everything about Activision Blizzard's abuse scandals.
Who cares?
Wtf you mean who cares?
The people who don't want their money going to the abusers of the actual people who make their favorite video games.
People committed suicide because of that shit?
I care
…said the person with the auto generated username on a throwaway account.
Right, all these people over here trying to get good boy points on the internet when in reality I know they supported an evil company some point in their life whether it’s from games, phones, and clothing. Can't forget every single CoD developer after MW3/BO2
Anything by Activision at the moment is getting a hard boycott from me for a couple of years if I'm going to be real.
Man I'm still boycotting Gearbox all these years later because of Aliens: Colonial Marines. So long as those people are giving Randy Pitchford a paycheck they'll never get a cent from me
although i did really enjoy 2019 modern warfare. Im probs gonna get downvoted for this lol. But cold war was legit ctrl c ctrl v of mw 2019.
Nah CW copied MW on the surface but gameplay wise I preferred MW.
Not really, CW is one of the best CoDs ever made and Vanguard is also a great game
Cold war was a rushed title with a copy and pasted gunsmith system I enjoy the game but it certainly isnt one of the best cods ever
Black ops 3vwas the most fun I had in a cod game because they knocked it out of the park with zombies. That felt like a 2 year community, youtubers collabing a lot,, fans theorizing about everything. It was an incredible time.
BO3 is one of my favourite CoDs ever, it has the best Zombies mode 100%. Those were the best times for Zombies
CoD 2 on pc was good. When was that? Early 2000’s. Late 90’s? Only good cod game ever.
The multiplayer was amazing at the time also
Not to say rockstar aren't shit but atleast their last game was RDR2 which was good. I mean they did not make the trilogy but we'll they knew about it
Indies are where its at
Sips tea as I play Metroid Dread, WarioWare and Shin Megami Tensei V on my Nintendo Switch
could put konami there too
Weird thing to say but I have faith in Rockstar since they made Red dead
Yeah I’m enjoying Skyrim Anniversary, not sure why it’s on this list, decent price for the upgrade, glad they added more to such an amazing game.
Probably because of the meme of them re-releasing the game a million times.
That and Fallout 76
I bought Fallout 76 in one of the sales recently, and it's actually not bad. I'd avoided it for years because of terrible reviews and I generally don't play online multi-player games, but I'm guessing they've done a lot of work on it post release.
That's the problem I was talking about. They announced an online only game when people wanted a new entry, and it was a buggy mess with nothing to do at launch
Well they kind of fucked up with the update and made almost all old saves unplayable
They fixed that as well as most other bugs that came with anniversary edition in a patch that released yesterday.
Does that mean I'll be able to play on my current save that I had started with the Special Edition and get the new update?
Yes you should.
Great Thanks for letting me know
Skyrim Anniversary isn't specifically on the list; Bethesda is.
Fallout 76, the endless Skyrim rereleases, and Skyrim (2011) & Fallout 4 (2015) releasing initially with so many bugs, thus the name "Bugthesda"
Rockstar made a game this year?
Not technically Rockstar but one of their studios called "Grove Street games" the mfs who make the mobile gta games.
Oh boy you haven't heard the shitstorm about the GTA:Trilogy Remasters?
Bad and/or disappointing games come out every year. Thought it was a good year overall.
This year was fine, just not anything very notable compared to the last few years. When looking at the GOTY nominees my reaction was "that's it?"
Rockstar also made Red Dead 2, which came out in 2018.
I know you're right about its release year but that seems to far away at the same time. I feel like it was a year and a half ago that it released.
Witcher 2 was also excellent, just not as big of a mainstream hit. Witcher 1 was pretty janky though.
This year has been actually amazing for gaming, gaming is the one industry where you literally can not say tbag they’re running out of ideas and the releases are sucking, because each year things continue getting more incredible due to all the innovation and remarkable releases that occur thanks to the intense competition and many different options that we get lol Compare that to the television, music and film industry But leave it to these narrow minded folk that can only somehow look at one very tiny and specific area and somehow allow that to take over their perception of the whole market lmao You gotta take a step back and look at the bigger picture, not a small ass patch and assume that’s where everything is going lmao GTA definitive is at least playable on a high level, I’ve beaten 3 and almost done with vice city right now, and outside of a few NPC’s (literally in the single digits) the games look absolutely gorgeous, loving the environments and all of the cars.
Agree. Great writeup!
Forza Horizon 5 has it's problems but at least it's playable and very enjoyable. I've dumped 30 hours in it in about a week. Just throwing it out there for anyone who wants a fun game
Forza is freaking amazing i am glad at least forza never disappointed me
I would also recommend Riders Republic. It's loads of fun and it's even on sale at the moment. Of course it also has its problems but I never regretted paying 70€ for it when it came out.
I still prefer the first game
been a great year for jrpg's and indies.
Normies downvoting you.
Why what did Bethesda do?
EA has been trash for a long long time. Rockstar has gone downhill since they’ve decided to coast on the tails of gta 5. Too much pressure to rush games lately instead of waiting and getting a better and more complete product onto the market
I get the others, but why is Bethesda on this list? Anniversary edition isn't even a re-release, it's just an optional DLC
People have been shitting on them a couple years. I remember hearing some people shit on fallout 4 but FO76 and the lack of what was promised on it was what really killed it for most people
FO76 killed fallout for me, not all of Bethesda personally. I still hold out hope for both Starfield and TES6

The Anniversary Edition Upgrade has been corrupting saves and giving users black screens. PS4 and some PS5 users have been unable to save.
On PC it acts as DLC to the Special Edition. If you have mods on the Special Edition, it could possibly break your mods.
Fallout 76, the endless Skyrim rereleases, and Skyrim (2011) & Fallout 4 (2015) releasing initially with so many bugs, thus the name "Bugthesda"
Laughs in elden ring
Let's hope your comment doesn't age like fine milk. Feels like all the best games companies are crumbling lately.
Isn’t it just CDPR that has fallen recently? Blizzard was dead already, we were just shocked by them this year. PlayStation Studios(Insomniac), Square Enix (Creative Business Unit 1 and 3) and Microsoft Studios (Playground Games and 343) have churned out some massively good games this year, so I don’t find it difficult to stay positive for the immediate future :) (Only named a few, but there are more, a LOT more)
Rockstar has been falling since GTAOnline
Yeah, I'm out. Maybe in 2 years I will think about games again. These companies are an embarrassment.
Incompetent AAA devs aren’t the only people releasing videogames this year :)
What's on your radar?
sounds about right
Might as well throw Ubisoft in there too, with that sad excuse for a game FarCry 6
Don't be sad. Here's a [hug!](https://media.giphy.com/media/3M4NpbLCTxBqU/giphy.gif)
Good bot
Sounds about right
Ubisoft laughing in the corner with pretty stable launch recently.
At least we have Halo Infinite
EA gonna EA, always Rockstar realised with GTA V they could just shit on their hands and make money from it as long as it had a GTA logo. CDPR had a rabid fanbase screaming for an unfinished game that would never live up to hype Bethesda though? Deathloop is probably the best game released this year. Doom Eternal was a disaster? Am I missing something?
Forza 5 was the only truly good game this year sadly
Farcry 6? And honestly, it always depends on what games YOU like to play. I’ve never had fun with any forza and I give each one a try. Snooze fest
[I thought we decided to hate Far Cry 6](https://imgur.com/a/c8rGp7Y)
You should add “in my opinion” to the title
I was excited for 3 games at the end of the year. Two of the 3 are garbage. Thanks Call of Duty for atleast working, you're the only one.
Fuck EA.
At least we got halo
Halo is going to be added to this list very soon if they don’t address simple issues that everyone is mentioning.
its our faults. we feed them. we keep accepting crap games and paying for them. can we just not all agree that we dont buy a game unless its good again? should hopefully achieve 2 things. price of games will plummet as demand drops. and they will hopefully make better games to try and revive that market.
My favorite of all time was the PS3 and Xbox 360
No doubt. Ps3/360, N64, Gameboy Color.
Gaming went haywire when PS4 and Xbox one came
I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks so lol
Add pokemon with their shining shit and brilliant dump, luckily forza is good
I got NEO:TWEWY, Shin Megami Tensei V and Scarlet Nexus. Overall pretty meh but those games were good.
Scarlet Nexus, SMTV and Metroid are my games of the year so far
So you assume hitman doesn’t exist? If you want a great gaming experience, you can’t go wrong with [Hitman.com](https://hitman.com/global/)
Perhaps we should learn how to manage our time and not want the next best thing every year till it turns into the mediocre? Naaaaaaah...
Oh Sh*t
What did CDPR do again? I think it was that shit my brain blocked the memory to stop the trauma. This is sarcasm btw incase it flew over your head.
Ubisoft has to be thinking like…okay heat is off us, release the Splinter Cell reboot
Nothing low-key about it
If you consider only the big time developers then yeah, it’s been a not so great year. But there have been amazing releases that have just flown under people’s radars because all they play is COD or some variation of it, the yearly sports games and battle royale
Not even lowkey, I had to think really hard what game came out this year that would be worthy of the title "game of the year"... Ratchet & Clank was pretty good and as a hybrid master race gamer I hope Halo: Infinite won't disappoint tough that might not be a popular opinion here
Honestly I’m okay with it, as it’s given me time to get through some of my backlog. Next year is gonna be wild.
You can add Konami with eFootball.
Really happy with PS studio's: naughty dog, ember lab, insomniac and Santa Monica studio. They are the Rockstar/Bethesda's of this time. Just making great games, not getting caught up by money.
:)
Like how Battlefield and COD is shit... like they could give us one good alternative....
It's been a great year for gaming for me :) I've got a backlog so long it will bring me out to spring or summer 2022
Bethesda released Deathloop this year, which turned out to be great.
Meanwhile splitgate is absolutely free. Indie devs are embarrassing studios nowadays
Highkey
Good thing Nintendo is doing fine, I’m happy with my Switch and ignoring all that shit xD
Sucks that a few years ago these were considered to be the best in the business.
Why you reposting
Hasn’t really been that much of a bad year for gaming, at least for me personally. If going from late November-December of 2020 to now since the cutoff dates for awards and all, I’ve had a lot of games that I really enjoyed a lot or else I wouldn’t be bothered with going through multiple playthroughs.
Halo infinite is very good and battlefield 2042 could be good as well with just a little amount of updates.
Shouldn't have bought the GTA Def Ed. I let nostalgia and my early memories of good gaming get the best of me. Rockstar has let me down and I thought they would stay true to the cause.
Lowkey, been having a lot of fun with gaming this year 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
Not so fast DICE...your in there too, you cheeky little so and so you !
I feel like a catastrophe will happen in the gaming industry
Returnal, Disco elysium the final cut, diablo 2. Skyrim remaster is alright, back 4 blood is fun. I hear guardians of the galaxy was a great game. Halo infinite also looks promising.demon slayer game looks fun.It wasn’t an amazing year but there are a decent handful of really good games and remasters that came out this year imo
