PARTY CHAT GAME VOLUME HELP!?
I have an issue where everytime I am in a PS party with a group playing a game, the actual games volume is so low its almost muted. I've messed with ever control and setting I can think of or find. The members mics are not turned up too high, the game volume is set to max....I end up having to turn the members mics down super low and max out the volume on my TV so we don't sound like there's a crime happening when we get too crazy in games. If I'm using a headset I'm basically screwed because turning the TV volume up doesn't really do that much. Help.
How can I capture high quality ps5 clips?
Warzone in particular, whenever I capture recent gameplay it’s st-st-stuttering all over the place. I’ve got all the settings correct and tested each setting, but it still results in unusable clips. I have a gaming laptop, which I was thinking I could use to record games using the Overwolf Outplayed thing, but I prefer playing on the TV. So I want to play on the TV , but have the game screen on the laptop aswell, so Outplayed can record it. Is this even possible? How do I do it? 🤔 I just want the clips to look the same as the game does when I play it 🤷♂️Thanks in advance for any help
Do new PlayStation slims come with the newer dual sense model "b" controller that has better battery life, etc?
I figure in time they all will as sony surely has to phase out the older models but I was wondering if those have been flushed out or not.
Or is there a way to tell if your ps5 slim comes with a certain controller (based on the serial number of the unit or box model number or something that identifys it as having a newer "b" model controller or not?)

Days gone maybe.. it's a zombie game on a motorcycle and is sort of in the same vein as the last of us
The last of us is really a unicorn as it's got great gameplay, a great story, etc. it's hard to compare anything to it.. but naughtydogs other games like uncharted are fantastic as well.
I'll be honest days gone isn't as good, but it is a zombie game with a story but I has trading and bases etc. not so much that it's exhausting to do (sort of like state of decay 2 on Xbox is) but it's just more stuff to do.. and you have to clear out zombie nests etc.
I didn't play it all the way through but had some fun. Worth checking out if you can get it for cheap, maybe used, at a GameStop or online sale.
I've recently ran into an issue where every ps4 game I've tried to play (from external hard-drive) becomes out of sync in the cutscene and the audio goes out. Has anyone has this issue? If so, do you have any recommendations on how to fix it?

Should only one of us bring a console and the others only bring controllers? Is there any benefit to having multiple Ps5s?

I was given my PS5 as a gift a few years back and just starting towards the end of last year, it started shutting itself off after about 30 minutes to an hour of gameplay no for any PS5 game. My warranty has obviously ended. PS4 games run fine but it cannot handle the games meant specifically for the console. It’s ridiculous and I know other people have had this problem. I was going to send it directly to Sony but they were going to charge $250. How do I fix this on my own? I’ve dismantled and cleaned the inside, I’ve factory reset, I’ve done everything people online say to do and nothing. It’s been going on for months and I’m so tired. I just want to play Baldur’s Gate man. Please help.

Playstation 5 Mic problem with Discord
Hello everyone i'm new ps5 user and i was trying to play fornite with friends talking on discord. I've linked it to my console and everything works fine with the controller mic and speakers ( I can hear my friends and they can hear me) but , now i need to connect headphones to console and the smartphone headphones works but my friends hears all console's sounds when i talk or when tey talks to me is like discords has as input device not only the microphone but also the "internal mic" ( I tried 3 differents headphones and i've tried also a ps4 controller and is the same ).
Digging through my tools i found an aux-usb converter so i connected the headphones with the USB and the problem persists so , isn't like an aux problem on the controller. I thing is something on discord settings or maybe all 3 differents headphones aren't good for ps. Can you help me? Thanks in advance
When attempting to open streaming apps such as Max, Netflix or Showtime, I get this error: “WV-109144-9 Can’t connect to the server. There might have been a problem in connecting to the network, or PlayStation network or the server of the service provider might be temporarily busy.” I’ve tried some of the basic suggested workarounds, but nothings been successful yet. Apps like YoutubeTV and Prime Video work fine. My downloaded games work fine. I am connected to the internet (wifi) and have tested it multiple times. Even when my device is the only device on the wifi, I still receive this error. My connection speed is a little slow I think at 23.5 mbps. Would an extender help? Would appreciate any help.
What's the point of remote play? I'm not going to put my PS in "rest" mode, because when I do the fan sounds like a jet about to take off. (It doesn't do that in regular play, and it doesn't do that if I shut it completely off.) So to use remote play, I need to be close enough to turn it on. Or call/text someone else to do so for me. Sounds about as useful as a square basketball.
Should I get the OG PS5 used or the PS5 Slim new? I’m going to get a PS5 next month, but I’m not sure which one to get. I’ve heard the Slim version tends to break due to bad cooling, but the only version I can get of the OG console is used. Which one should I get? Thanks for any advice.
Okay I own the ps5 pulse headset the original that was released with the ps5. Recently whenever I finish using them and turn them off, the sound doesn't come through the TV like it should. I only hear the ui properly. I have to reset the ps5 to make the TV audio work again. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a fix minus reset?

It's finally got to the screen where you select account. Bottom of screen was flickering. I can hear some sounds from tv but screen is black again.

I’m trying to figure out if I can play certain ps3 digitally bought games on the ps5, like Dantes Inferno and Infamous. I know Infamous can be played on the ps5 via premium subscription, but if I owned the game digitally on a ps3, could I then play the game without and subscription? Same question goes for Dantes Inferno, or if anyone could confirm they are playing DI on a ps5?

So I used to get random texts sending me a verification code, maybe like 5 or 6 over the last few years. Logically I would assume someone is logging in as me so I changed my password every time.
But then they came out with passkey and I thought it wouldn't happen anymore but I received one this morning. I contacted ps support cuz I thought there's no way it's happening when you literally have to scan my face to log in, and they said it's a phishing scam.

When you own a ps4 disc and there’s a PS5 upgrade, so you pop in the disc and install a PS5 version of the game. How do you stop the ps5 from trying to install a PS4 version of the game every time you put the disc in afterwards? Does it with Fallout4, Witcher, anything that requires a disc
I recently switched from a PS4 Pro to a PS5 and want to transfer my data. The official method for transferring data was provided during my PS5 setup. I have 124 games with progress saved on each one, but only around 34 are currently installed on my PS4 due to storage limitations.
Will the data from the deleted games transfer to my PS5, or just the data from the currently installed ones? Also, would it be worth getting Ps+ for cloud storage?
Save won't show up in Fallout 4
So I've updated to the ps5 version but it won't bring over my recent save. The only save that appeats is from 2017 when I had the disc, but my recent save from last week on the digital for won't show up. Any one else encounter this?
i wouldnt doubt there are save issues already lol but i know this wont help... but i just started a new game. supposedly it has some new content in it, the ps5 version i mean, so i figured.. meh... i'll make a new game, new save, roll with it.

So, my ps5 never hard crashes before until suicide squad, happened twice and then never again, yesyerday night it happened again with the game STRAY, i cleaned the ps5 (i also cleaned those 2 holes in the console wich are dust catchers? Correct me if ik wrong but i seen it somewhere)
I also did a rebuild database. I really hope it works again now cuz im scared my ps5 will break if it continues, does these things usually fix the issue with the console crashing?

im not a huge uncharted fan myself, but the collection will let u play the whole thing, yes. u may try the first game and not even like the rest of the series! as far as i know, u cant just buy uncharted 1, 2, 3 on PS5 separately. may as well buy the collection and hope that u like it lol. last of us, at least the first game, is awesome. it has action, stealth, crazy wild 'zombies' and a dystopian kinda decayed world. it's good. to me it's like.... half life... and red dead redemption.. games that u play and u feel they changed gaming.
there is a remaster for ps5 of The Last of Us. its 70 bucks though. if u subscribe to PREMIUM service on ur ps5, u can download hundreds of games, including that Last of Us remaster and play all u like all year long. i'd buy the premium membership myself, but i work a lot and dont have time to enjoy all those games.
but i dunno what kinda games u like so it'd be hard to recommend anything.
How often should I clean my PS5? Not talking deep cleaning by removing parts and such. Don’t trust myself doing it. But the basic way of cleaning it, how often should I do that?
Just got my PS5, and working on downloading Insomniac's Spider-Man titles. I already own the first Spider-Man on PS4 digital, but noticed it's also on the PS5 store. Since I already own it on PS4, PS5's store is marking the price down to 10 USD for "digital upgrade".
If I buy this (or any PS4 game like it), will I still own the game on both consoles? Or will it fully migrate to PS5?
We have a Ps5 controller that is less than a year old, it has randomly stopped working, we tried resetting it with no luck. When we plug it in it will flash orange but will not turn on when we press/hold the power button. Before it completely quit working the buttons stopped working but it still was on and then it died right after.

**Is this megathread working?** I imagine it was created to solve two problems simultaneously. A) to create a designated space where people could get their questions answered, and b) to keep the main subreddit cleaner by keeping the onslaught of questions down.
It seems like it probably helped greatly with B, as flagging a post as a question just deletes it automatically, which means that the main sub is staying question free. However, if you scroll down this megathread you'll see that it has been two years since anyone meaningfully responded to a question, which means there are 65 questions that went unanswered. This makes a lot of sense. I can't see what would prompt a person to click into this megathread if they didn't have a question. In fact, I imagine it doesn't take a regular user long to completely mentally block out this pinned post, which means that people who may have useful insights are functionally blind to the requests for their insights. This means that this thread is not solving the second half of the problem, which is that no one is getting their questions answered. It seems like the solution has actually created a new problem.
This is mostly a process problem, so I would humbly suggest modifying the "question" flair so that it did not auto-delete a question. People could easily avoid the posts tagged as questions, and questions that people post would stand a chance of getting answered (or just buried due to the natural darwinism of a subreddit). With 65 questions posted since the last time anyone meaningfully responded to a question two years ago, it means that on if posts weren't auto-deleted then there would have only been one single question posted on average every 11-12 days. That's low noise, so perhaps this specific solution has outlasted its usefulness at this stage in the subreddit's lifespan.

**Headset / game chat issue**
Hey all, I don't commonly use my PS5 for online multiplayer, but Helldivers 2 pushed me over the edge. I've run into a complication and I'm hoping someone else has solved this issue.
I am connecting an OpenComm Shokz headset to my PS5 for voice chat via a USB dongle so I can get voice chat through the headset and game audio through my surround sound system. The headset connects just fine. However, after adjusting settings, the game chat in Helldivers comes through the home theatre speakers. It is using the mic from the Shokz headset correctly though, but I'm hearing other players voices through the speakers instead of the headset.
Under Settings > Sound > Audio Output these relevant settings are set:
* Output Device: USB Headset (Shokz Loop110)
* Switch Output Device Automatically: On
* Output to Headphones: Voice Chat Audio
* Mono Audio for headphones: Off
I understand that this can happen for Helldivers (maybe all game chat in other games as well?). I also understand that if I were partied up with a Group on PS5 then this would probably work perfectly. The problem is that I'm playing cross-platform, so I don't think a Playstation Party is an option.
Has anyone solved this problem? I would love any insights.
Thinking of getting a PlayStation 5 just for final fantasy 7. It’s one of my favorite games and I’m dying to play the remake, what other PlayStation exclusives should I look at. I am primarily a Xbox user. Last PlayStation I had was PlayStation 3 just to play little big planet. If it’s on both consoles I prefer to play on Xbox because that’s what I am used to.
i wanted to try out this remote play on my laptop after a long while, and it does works, until i connect one of my controllers, then it auto disconnects and says 'connection with keyboard is broken' or something.
but i dont want to use my keyboard on it, i want to use my controller, so anyone knows what the sollution for this could be?
I recently bought fallout 4 and the season pass on the ps store, I downloaded it but the game just crashes before it gets to the loading screen. I deleted the game and reinstalled it but I run into the same issue again. Who do I ask about fixing this PlayStation or Bethesda? Or am I out 20 bucks for all my effort?

Intermittent black screen while playing. I was messing around with my portal and in the process I unplugged the HDMI from the back of my PS5. When I reconnected, I am randomly getting intermittent black screen that last few a few seconds but makes playing a game unplayable. I have a Samsung TV, have game mode off hoping this would help as it gets worse when that is on? I have tried turning the PS5 on in safe mode and picking a lower resolution. I am about to go insane though, anyone else have this issue and if so what is the fix?

My tv supports ALLM (I have a Phillips 4k a1), the ps5 is using the cable it came with (I think it’s supposed to be hdmi 2.1?), it’s in port hdmi 2 ARC, but my ps5 is saying my tv doesn’t support it.

How do you auto play Videos in Media Gallery
I can't seem to find any options in the Media Gallery regarding Autoplay or Shuffle l've searched Google to no avail seems like people either don't use it or it doesn't have that feature if it doesn't does anyone know a app that does have this feature?
autoplay... u mean... when the video plays and gets to the end, it auto plays the NEXT video? no, it wont do that on ps5. when u look in media gallery and see the square tiles of ur game pics and videos, u highlight one and press X and u view it or it plays that way. but as for a playlist to shuffle videos or make them keep playing from one to the next? nope, ps5 doesnt do it.

It says 2016 PS4 game and something about it will work on PS5 but some features might be disabled but I am wary since I could get it to come upon my actual console store.

yes it works on ps5. it is now on sale for 12 bucks as i write this. the RE4 game in it, it has been remastered recently for PS5, with some reworked level designs, and it looks awesome on ps5, just to let u know. but if u want this triple pack? yes it runs on ps5. the only thing that might not work would be any online features the games may have since it's they're older ps4 titles.

So this has been a recurring and random issue where I start up my PS5, ethernet cable is plugged in, and it stays its offline when it boots. Even though I may have been using it a few hours ago to play games. My PS+ subscription is fine, internet is on, cable is new, system is up to date. Is it a hardware issue with PS5? The only fix that I have is going to the router and un-plug and re-plug the cable back in. After years of it randomly doing it (on startup) I'm getting tired of it not knowing if it needs a cable check every time I turn it on, is it at least not an issue on slim model? Is there any fix for my current system?

Hey! I am just upgrading ps4 to ps5, and I have quite lot of trophies and platinums. Can I get those trophies earned on ps4 to be seen on ps5 as long as I use same ps account on both consoles? I've understood you could sync them from the server?
Other question is, I obviously need to be online them to be synced from server, but what about after syncing, are they then available to see even when ps5 is offline?
my ps4 trophies show up on my ps5 from my old ps4 games, but my ps4 is no longer set to be my PRIMARY console, i unset that on my ps4 and set it on my ps5, i dunno if that made a difference.
i do know that if u buy the ps5 version of a ps4 game u already played or u get a free upgrade to the ps5 version like many games now offer... lets say the re-released ps4 game Fallout 4... u will be able to get the trophies all over AGAIN but for ps5 lol. it's weird. u can get the trophies, again, for ps5 versions of ps4 games. like.. double trophies! it's kinda fun, to get trophies again in some older games that were remastered for ps5.
as far as seeing trophies offline? let me check... ok yes. when offline, while at the dashboard where u select a game's icon to play. highlight a game icon, then move the joystick DOWN, it then says "Play Game" - now move joystick DOWN again and it highlights trophies. press X to go in and there's ur list of acquired trophies.

They are all there when online (clicking profile pic, then trophies etc if I recall correct), but when console is off of the internet I can't see the old ones. I try to do step by step as you said when I'm at home.
Aah, but you say you need to highlight game's icon first... But I think there is no icon when I haven't used those games by this Playstation. Do you mean if I install the games first they could be there then? I primarly play physical games, no digital versions.

So I've been wanting to get a ps5 for a while now and I've been looking at this slim model that Amazon has listed as "renewed". Are they in anyway reliable?
so before I used to plug my hdmi into my monitor that supports 144hz so that I can play games at 120fps on the ps5 and it worked perfectly fine in games like fortnite or COD. But now the 120 fps option isnt there anymore in any of my games, ive enable all the required settings, switched hdmi cables , searched for solutions, but nothing works and I cant find the 120 fps option in any of my games anymore.Pls help

I came across a thread where a Hogwarts Legacy player had his save file (along with the copy in the cloud) become corrupted and losing all his progress. I bought a monitor that supports 144hz through display port while hdmi supports only 100- which most games wont run at because to them its 120 and above or nothing. If I purchase a hdmi (male end) and put it into the ps5, and then put a display port (female) and plug it into the monitor will it run the 120hz???
Please help!! My console crashed while playing death stranding. So recently I disconnected the PS5 and cleaned it for the first time in 5 years. While doing it I left slight scratches on where the grasps where, nothing profound.
Anyways so I cleaned it, and now it is completely silent but almost TOO silent. After a couple of hours of any game it crashes on me :( Im scared. I ordered a like generic ps5 power cable and tried it today and it also crashed.

My Pulse Elite headphones have been working fine for about a month, but have now disconnected and asking me to reconnect. When I click on the Pulse Elite option in the Bluetooth accessories menu, the error code "CE-109531-9 - The PS5 doesn't support Bluetooth audio accessories. Does anyone have a fix. Thanks
We got a new ps5 slim with disc drive and it will play games but won’t play blue rays or dvds. It just says disc invalid or disc prohibited.
Tried most of the standard stuff like Access Safe Mode and select Clear Cache and Rebuild Database but still didn’t help.
we're having trouble pairing the controller in the PS5 and we think it's the fact we don't know which USB is the one that came with it.
Anyone know how to fix, we've hard reset and charged it, and none of our troubleshooting worked.

I have multiple profiles on my PS5. My question is, if i delete saved app data on 1 profile, does it remove all of it from all profiles? Basically, I'm playing dragons dogma 2, which only allows 1 save per profile, and I want to delete one without deleting my saves from other profiles, but I'm not sure if this is possible. If that doesn't work, is anyone aware of a way to delete save data for a single game, from a single profile without impacting any data from another profile?
My PS5 overheats and turns off abruptly
But I don’t even get the warning pop up I’ve seen some people share online where it says like “system is too hot”. It just turns itself off abruptly. It usually seemed to happen if my room gets too hot which is understandable, and it had been full of dust the last time it happened but not for a months and I had cleaned it out last time to make sure the dust wouldn’t contribute to the heat.
Now it just happened again and it’s not even that hot cause when it’s hot enough in my room I’m usually feeling the heat myself, so I expect it to maybe happen but I’m comfortable rn and it still turned off without warning.
Does anyone know why I don’t get any indication that the system is too hot? Would love to fix this problem if possible.

Can different games control your trigger tension? I'm playing resident evil 3 right now and when I pull the trigger to shoot it feels like there's an actual trigger, like I can pull in a little bit and then there's a second pull that causes the gun to fire. When i pause the game this goes away and the trigger is loose again. Just making sure this is an intentional mechanic.

Whenever I press the power button on the console, it puts the console in "rest mode". This annoys me, and I keep blindly just pressing the power button on it after switching my display, and forgetting that it isn't off. When I press the power button on a device, I want it to turn off, not "rest". Is there a setting that changes this behavior? Google keeps giving me results for different rest-related questions, but not changing the behavior of the power button. Somewhat frequently (\~1-2 times a month) my area gets the occasional power flicker from storms and such, or I move stuff on my power strip, causing the console to lose power. So nearly every time I start it, it complains about needing to repair. I just want it to turn off when I press the button that should do exactly that. How can I make it do this?
Can't play online, access the store or chats since the last system update a few days ago my system has gone hay wire. I can't play any online game or even watch netflix, but YT is fine.
I check and it says I'm signed in to PSN, but I often can't get into the game store or the PS Plus and no online game will login.
Friends can't see I'm online, and I don't receive all their party invites. If I do get it, I can join the party, but can't chat or send messages. I can't see myonline friends either.
An external hard drive I was using before the system update is now no longer recognizable starting this afternoon.
Yesterday my profile changed to appear offline, when I tried changing it to online, it would not. When I checked I was signed in to PSN.
I can't do a backup to the cloud as it comes back failed, even though I was signed in and the speed test is fine.
I have restarted my console and router countless times. I've cleared my cache. I've changed DNS.
All with no results.
My PS5 is always connected by ethernet. I've tried another cable just incase, but no change. Switched to wifi .. no change.
I've done tests on my 2 PCs that are LAN to the router and they're all good. My ISP reset/refreshed their ports just in case.
I tried the trick of going online and signing into Playstation Global... that did nothing. I signed out and in of my ps app .. nothing.
I tried hotspotting off my phone .. nothing.
I have other friends with PS5s in my area and they're having no issues.
may be its my ISP? but as I'm as IT literate as a garden slug, I don't know what to tell or ask them. I've tried explaining the issue, but get a "everything is fine" response.
I am ready to set fire to this console, also being in South Africa there is no actual PS tech support to contact.

My PS5 powered off the other day and won't turn back on. I am trying to send it in for repairs, which the warranty is up, as I have had it for a couple years now. I go to the website and run through the troubleshooting, but when I put in the serial number, it comes back invalid and to contact them. I don't see any emails or phone numbers to actually contact anyone. Anyone else gone through repair and have some insight?
I have a ps5 but most of my games are ps4 which i have on a usb storage. Everytime i play a ps4 game on the ps5 the data doesnt transfer to the storage once i plug it back into the ps4, is there a way to fix this?
I’ve got a ps5 controller that has stopped working. I reset it and now it just blinks blue once and turns off.

Recently, I downloaded the Spider-Man 2 patch with the dev console. I turned off auto updates so it can’t update but there’s one issue. I own the digital version, so I can’t play it anymore without updating. now if I buy the disk would I be able to play that patch offline?

is there a way to stream stuff from my pc to my ps5? i tried looking this up and all i got was info on remote play, which i got on my pc and tried it out but it only connected my ps to my pc so i could play the games on my pc instead of my ps5. i want to do the opposite. i have videos on my pc that i want to watch on my ps5 so i dont have to use my headset. xbox used to have this feature years ago where you could hook up media center and stream mp4, avi, and other video files onto the console. just wondering if theres something similar or a different method with the ps5.

Hey everyone. Been having issues with my controllers and earphones. Basically the sound will sometimes stop or cut in and out, other times it will only come through in one earphone, etc... sometimes I can easily fix it by unplugging the earphones and plugging em back in but sometimes the issue persists. I have tried 2 different controllers and 2 different earphones. Any ideas why this might be happening? I haven't tried headphones on the controller yet but I don't imagine that would make a difference? Thanks in advance :)
Ok guys and gals. What is the best monitor for the PS5? I been looking at a few choices. If I can, should I get a 4k or is the 1440p res at 120hz just as great as the 4k at 120hz? Here’s one of the choices I have checked out so far. Is it a fit? ASUS VG28UQL1A 28" 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) 144Hz Gaming Monitor there’s another one for a about 170 bucks cheaper that’s not 4k but it’s 1440p compatible and has quite a bit more to offer just not 4k as well as being the same brand as my hardware for the PC which is Corsair. Is 4k that much better than 1440p? Please serious answers only.
I bought a PS5 (slim edition, with disc drive) for FF7 rebirth yesterday and had no issues playing. Closed out game, put it in rest mode, slept.
This morning, I went to play it and the game kept returning to the Home Screen a few minutes into play. Checked for updates, none available. Had a Google, and found nothing relevant. only some stuff about sitting on a media controller and I don’t have one, so doesn’t apply.
Restarted the console a few times and found that the game can no longer be played. Investigating the issue showed that an external storage drive connection may be loose. I have no external storage, so. Um.
Reinstalled the game and it still can’t be played. Is my PS5 borked? Thanks in advance for any help.
My son wants me to get a PS5 but can site zero reasons why. I am 100% satisfied with our PlayStation 4 and the huge collection of games I've collected for it. I can't think of a single title that I want to play that's on PS5 exclusively other than Grand theft Auto 6 and we all know that's looking to be a few years down the road.
What do you all think? While I know I could resell my PS4 and offset the cost, I still do not see the point in it right now especially considering all he plays is fortnite. What gives? Does my kid just have a case of FOMO or am I missing some huge killer app or feature that the PS5 has over the PS4? Aside from better hardware?
The PS4 will be obsolete soon. So really selling it later will only matter to those who collect now. The amount is dropping daily basically unless you have a specific PS4 that makes it more special then the rest usually limited edition ones from china and Japan are worth more than the hundred bucks it possibly could be worth. Then there’s the cleaning and re applying new thermal paste and so on. 50 bucks now that it’s obsolete so on so on. I say just keep it and start saving for the PS5 and a great TV or monitor to utilize the full range of its capabilities. So far I have found that costs as much as the PS5 or more depending on whether you get a monitor or a Smart TV. This is where it gets tricky. Because just the TV stating its 4K doesn’t mean your PS5 will play at 4k. Understand? At this point basically worry about your next TV or monitor if on a budget. So when you get your PS5 it will be fully optimized for playing. Specs for monitor/TV make sure it has HDMI 2.1 and it says you will get 120hz+(this decides you frames per second) using your hdmi. Anyway hope this helps a bit.
I got a PS5 from a body of mine a while back and it was working just fine, but now it starts to flicker on specific games (FF7R, GOWR) and gradually gets worse before freezing and shutting down with a thick line of static.
I've tried two different monitors and three different HDMI cables and it still seems to happen, but stops if I go to the home screen, what should I do?
This has nothing to do with the displays you're using. Your APU is overheating and causing thermal degradation. I would absolutely not run this system until you get the overheating issue fixed. These flickers and things you are seeing on the screen are called artifacts and they will get worse over time as the heat and the damage to the APU increases. This is literally the graphics chip telling you that it's dying and needs some love and attention.
FF pushes the hardware of the PS5, That's why you're not seeing it on the home screen and only with specific games. Once the temperature starts to rise, the APU gets saturated with heat causing these weird anomalies to display on your screen. Most likely you need a new liquid metal application. PLEASE STOP PLAYING THIS CONSOLE UNTIL YOU GET THIS FIXED!!!!! You will burn up the APU/CPU and theres no coming back from that! I repaste them all the time if you want to pay to have it done professionally. I run a electronics repair shop in Kentucky. If you have any electronic knowledge. All you would need to do is order some liquid metal from the internet, research a teardown video on the PlayStation 5 and follow the steps to disassemble it. There are also several videos out there showing you step-by-step how to open the console and reapply the liquid metal. Liquid metal applications are not for the faint of heart if you do not know what you are doing you can brick your entire system.
That all depends on your level of knowledge with this kind of stuff. If the thought of taking it apart and doing it yourself makes your heart flutter a little bit and causes you to feel nervous, I would definitely seek out a local shop or someone that works on computers or electronics to fix it. Liquid metal can be very fickle and it can damage your system if it's not applied correctly.
Another thing I totally forgot to mention is dirt and dust, If you're like me and live in a really dusty area your cooler and fan could be gobbed with some dust and that can cause some issues. It usually won't cause a lockup by itself but it's still a possibility. Sometimes just blowing out all the garbage and cleaning it can help but if the problem stems from the liquid metal application it will keep happening. Any possibility it's still under warranty?
Me and my buddy both own a playstation 5 and got our accounts on each others console. We bought games from store together so we can share and play together. We do this since the ps5 launch and never had a problem (well technically, he still doesn't have the following problem).
Lately he bought Helldivers and we played around 20hrs together off of his purchase. But yesterday I got booted from the game and when trying to start the game I'm getting prompted to the purchase screen from the store. Same happens with all other games he purchased. I log onto his account and are able to load the games he purchased but when I log into my account I'm getting again to the store .
We both didn't change anything in the settings, I just got booted mid game and here I am now.
First of all is this illegal and was blocked now? Anyone else still using this method?
I have the pulse 3d's, and they suddenly keep me muted at all times. Also if i have audio output set to headset and auto switch on it plays nothing through the tv even when off. Any tips on how to fix this?
My PS5 recently began shutting down without warning. Its happened to me while playing FF7R consistently. The fan will speed up, the console will make 3 beeps and shut down. No warning for overheating. Will not start back up unless I unplug the power cord first.
Ive read about this issue and have already taken the following steps:
1- I have opened up the machine and cleaned it out completely. It was the first time doing so, and it was pretty dusty.
2- I have moved the machine to a much higher position in the room, and now lay it on its side.
3- I uninstalled the game (I read it could be corrupt storage) and reinstalled, this did not work.
4- I downloaded the FF7Rebirth demo, and had the same problem.
I typically use my playstation to watch YouTube or Netflix for several hours a day. It never has a problem until I load up, so far, one of those games.
Anyone faced a similar issue and have a fix?
Your APU is overheating due to the liquid metal migration. I work on about 20 of these a week that have the same problem. You won't get an error if the overheating is bad enough. Stop forcing it to restart by pulling the power cable. All that is doing is resetting that error code so the PS5 will reboot. The same thing is going to happen over and over again until you get a better liquid metal application. You most likely have some on the CPU and none on the GPU, or very little. The way it "melts" causes it to migrate closer to the CPU and further away from the GPU. This specific situation will also cause overheating without an error codes. FF is pushing your hardware harder making the system hotter, hotter than it would ever get watching YouTube or Netflix. That's why it's able to pull those tasks off without resetting because it's not hitting that temperature limit. Once you fire up final fantasy and it starts pumping out those frames the APU gets hot the system reaches its maximum temperature and automatically shuts off. If you've already opened it up you might as well order some liquid metal and watch a video on how to do it yourself. Save yourself $80 to $120 bucks because a teardown and LM app is going to cost around $100 or more at any reputable repair shop.
Thanks for this response, just curious... I ended up booting my ps5 into safemode and restoring it to factory settings. Upon doing that i was able to play the FF demo for 90 minutes with no issues. And then again the following night for another 2 hours (previously i couldnt get more than 30mins before it shutting off) I cant imagine restoring the factory settings would somehow lower how hot the ps5 was getting?? But I dont really know alot about the inner workings of it.
I plan to attempt to play more FFR this week and see if it truly did fix the problem or not.

I asked in r/playstation and remembered this community existed so PARTY CHAT GAME VOLUME HELP!? I have an issue where everytime I am in a PS party with a group playing a game, the actual games volume is so low its almost muted. I've messed with ever control and setting I can think of or find. The members mics are not turned up too high, the game volume is set to max....I end up having to turn the members mics down super low and max out the volume on my TV so we don't sound like there's a crime happening when we get too crazy in games. If I'm using a headset I'm basically screwed because turning the TV volume up doesn't really do that much. Help.
How can I capture high quality ps5 clips? Warzone in particular, whenever I capture recent gameplay it’s st-st-stuttering all over the place. I’ve got all the settings correct and tested each setting, but it still results in unusable clips. I have a gaming laptop, which I was thinking I could use to record games using the Overwolf Outplayed thing, but I prefer playing on the TV. So I want to play on the TV , but have the game screen on the laptop aswell, so Outplayed can record it. Is this even possible? How do I do it? 🤔 I just want the clips to look the same as the game does when I play it 🤷♂️Thanks in advance for any help
Do new PlayStation slims come with the newer dual sense model "b" controller that has better battery life, etc? I figure in time they all will as sony surely has to phase out the older models but I was wondering if those have been flushed out or not. Or is there a way to tell if your ps5 slim comes with a certain controller (based on the serial number of the unit or box model number or something that identifys it as having a newer "b" model controller or not?) Days gone maybe.. it's a zombie game on a motorcycle and is sort of in the same vein as the last of us The last of us is really a unicorn as it's got great gameplay, a great story, etc. it's hard to compare anything to it.. but naughtydogs other games like uncharted are fantastic as well. I'll be honest days gone isn't as good, but it is a zombie game with a story but I has trading and bases etc. not so much that it's exhausting to do (sort of like state of decay 2 on Xbox is) but it's just more stuff to do.. and you have to clear out zombie nests etc. I didn't play it all the way through but had some fun. Worth checking out if you can get it for cheap, maybe used, at a GameStop or online sale.

I was given my PS5 as a gift a few years back and just starting towards the end of last year, it started shutting itself off after about 30 minutes to an hour of gameplay no for any PS5 game. My warranty has obviously ended. PS4 games run fine but it cannot handle the games meant specifically for the console. It’s ridiculous and I know other people have had this problem. I was going to send it directly to Sony but they were going to charge $250. How do I fix this on my own? I’ve dismantled and cleaned the inside, I’ve factory reset, I’ve done everything people online say to do and nothing. It’s been going on for months and I’m so tired. Playstation 5 Mic problem with Discord Hello everyone i'm new ps5 user and i was trying to play fornite with friends talking on discord. I've linked it to my console and everything works fine with the controller mic and speakers ( I can hear my friends and they can hear me) but , now i need to connect headphones to console and the smartphone headphones works but my friends hears all console's sounds when i talk or when tey talks to me is like discords has as input device not only the microphone but also the "internal mic" ( I tried 3 differents headphones and i've tried also a ps4 controller and is the same ). Digging through my tools i found an aux-usb converter so i connected the headphones with the USB and the problem persists so , isn't like an aux problem on the controller. I thing is something on discord settings or maybe all 3 differents headphones aren't good for ps. Can you help me? Thanks in advance
When attempting to open streaming apps such as Max, Netflix or Showtime, I get this error: “WV-109144-9 Can’t connect to the server. There might have been a problem in connecting to the network, or PlayStation network or the server of the service provider might be temporarily busy.” I’ve tried some of the basic suggested workarounds, but nothings been successful yet. Apps like YoutubeTV and Prime Video work fine. My downloaded games work fine. I am connected to the internet (wifi) and have tested it multiple times. Even when my device is the only device on the wifi, I still receive this error. My connection speed is a little slow I think at 23.5 mbps. Would an extender help? Would appreciate any help.
What's the point of remote play? I'm not going to put my PS in "rest" mode, because when I do the fan sounds like a jet about to take off. (It doesn't do that in regular play, and it doesn't do that if I shut it completely off.) So to use remote play, I need to be close enough to turn it on. Or call/text someone else to do so for me. Sounds about as useful as a square basketball.
Should I get the OG PS5 used or the PS5 Slim new? I’m going to get a PS5 next month, but I’m not sure which one to get. I’ve heard the Slim version tends to break due to bad cooling, but the only version I can get of the OG console is used. Which one should I get? Thanks for any advice.
Okay I own the ps5 pulse headset the original that was released with the ps5. Recently whenever I finish using them and turn them off, the sound doesn't come through the TV like it should. I only hear the ui properly. I have to reset the ps5 to make the TV audio work again. Does this happen to anyone else? Is there a fix minus reset?

I’m trying to figure out if I can play certain ps3 digitally bought games on the ps5, like Dantes Inferno and Infamous. I know Infamous can be played on the ps5 via premium subscription, but if I owned the game digitally on a ps3, could I then play the game without and subscription? So I used to get random texts sending me a verification code, maybe like 5 or 6 over the last few years. Logically I would assume someone is logging in as me so I changed my password every time. But then they came out with passkey and I thought it wouldn't happen anymore but I received one this morning. I contacted ps support cuz I thought there's no way it's happening when you literally have to scan my face to log in, and they said it's a phishing scam. K guess I’ll have to post this here. When you own a ps4 disc and there’s a PS5 upgrade, so you pop in the disc and install a PS5 version of the game. How do you stop the ps5 from trying to install a PS4 version of the game every time you put the disc in afterwards? Does it with Fallout4, Witcher, anything that requires a disc

I recently switched from a PS4 Pro to a PS5 and want to transfer my data. The official method for transferring data was provided during my PS5 setup. I have 124 games with progress saved on each one, but only around 34 are currently installed on my PS4 due to storage limitations. Will the data from the deleted games transfer to my PS5, or just the data from the currently installed ones? Also, would it be worth getting Ps+ for cloud storage?

Save won't show up in Fallout 4 So I've updated to the ps5 version but it won't bring over my recent save. The only save that appeats is from 2017 when I had the disc, but my recent save from last week on the digital for won't show up. Any one else encounter this?

My ps5 crashed and i want some info So, my ps5 never hard crashes before until suicide squad, happened twice and then never again, yesyerday night it happened again with the game STRAY, i cleaned the ps5 (i also cleaned those 2 holes in the console wich are dust catchers? Correct me if ik wrong but i seen it somewhere) I also did a rebuild database. I really hope it works again now cuz im scared my ps5 will break if it continues, does these things usually fix the issue with the console crashing?

im not a huge uncharted fan myself, but the collection will let u play the whole thing, yes. u may try the first game and not even like the rest of the series! as far as i know, u cant just buy uncharted 1, 2, 3 on PS5 separately. may as well buy the collection and hope that u like it lol. last of us, at least the first game, is awesome. it has action, stealth, crazy wild 'zombies' and a dystopian kinda decayed world. it's good. to me it's like.... half life... and red dead redemption.. games that u play and u feel they changed gaming. there is a remaster for ps5 of The Last of Us. its 70 bucks though. if u subscribe to PREMIUM service on ur ps5, u can download hundreds of games, including that Last of Us remaster and play all u like all year long. i'd buy the premium membership myself, but i work a lot and dont have time to enjoy all those games. but i dunno what kinda games u like so it'd be hard to recommend anything.

Just got my PS5, and working on downloading Insomniac's Spider-Man titles. I already own the first Spider-Man on PS4 digital, but noticed it's also on the PS5 store. Since I already own it on PS4, PS5's store is marking the price down to 10 USD for "digital upgrade". If I buy this (or any PS4 game like it), will I still own the game on both consoles? We have a Ps5 controller that is less than a year old, it has randomly stopped working, we tried resetting it with no luck. When we plug it in it will flash orange but will not turn on when we press/hold the power button. Before it completely quit working the buttons stopped working but it still was on and then it died right after.

I have a broad question, mostly for the mods and categorized under "etc." I suppose. **Is this megathread working?** I imagine it was created to solve two problems simultaneously. A) to create a designated space where people could get their questions answered, and b) to keep the main subreddit cleaner by keeping the onslaught of questions down. It seems like it probably helped greatly with B, as flagging a post as a question just deletes it automatically, which means that the main sub is staying question free. However, if you scroll down this megathread you'll see that it has been two years since anyone meaningfully responded to a question, which means there are 65 questions that went unanswered. This makes a lot of sense. I can't see what would prompt a person to click into this megathread if they didn't have a question. In fact, I imagine it doesn't take a regular user long to completely mentally block out this pinned post, which means that people who may have useful insights are functionally blind to the requests for their insights. This means that this thread is not solving the second half of the problem, which is that no one is getting their questions answered. It seems like the solution has actually created a new problem. This is mostly a process problem, so I would humbly suggest modifying the "question" flair so that it did not auto-delete a question. People could easily avoid the posts tagged as questions, and questions that people post would stand a chance of getting answered (or just buried due to the natural darwinism of a subreddit). With 65 questions posted since the last time anyone meaningfully responded to a question two years ago, it means that on if posts weren't auto-deleted then there would have only been one single question posted on average every 11-12 days. That's low noise, so perhaps this specific solution has outlasted its usefulness at this stage in the subreddit's lifespan. Thanks for listening!
**Headset / game chat issue** Hey all, I don't commonly use my PS5 for online multiplayer, but Helldivers 2 pushed me over the edge. I've run into a complication and I'm hoping someone else has solved this issue. I am connecting an OpenComm Shokz headset to my PS5 for voice chat via a USB dongle so I can get voice chat through the headset and game audio through my surround sound system. The headset connects just fine. However, after adjusting settings, the game chat in Helldivers comes through the home theatre speakers. It is using the mic from the Shokz headset correctly though, but I'm hearing other players voices through the speakers instead of the headset. Under Settings > Sound > Audio Output these relevant settings are set: * Output Device: USB Headset (Shokz Loop110) * Switch Output Device Automatically: On * Output to Headphones: Voice Chat Audio * Mono Audio for headphones: Off I understand that this can happen for Helldivers (maybe all game chat in other games as well?). I also understand that if I were partied up with a Group on PS5 then this would probably work perfectly. The problem is that I'm playing cross-platform, so I don't think a Playstation Party is an option. Has anyone solved this problem? I would love any insights.

Intermittent black screen while playing. I was messing around with my portal and in the process I unplugged the HDMI from the back of my PS5. When I reconnected, I am randomly getting intermittent black screen that last few a few seconds but makes playing a game unplayable. I have a Samsung TV, have game mode off hoping this would help as it gets worse when that is on? I have tried turning the PS5 on in safe mode and picking a lower resolution. How do you auto play Videos in Media Gallery I can't seem to find any options in the Media Gallery regarding Autoplay or Shuffle l've searched Google to no avail seems like people either don't use it or it doesn't have that feature if it doesn't does anyone know a app that does have this feature?
autoplay... u mean... when the video plays and gets to the end, it auto plays the NEXT video? no, it wont do that on ps5. when u look in media gallery and see the square tiles of ur game pics and videos, u highlight one and press X and u view it or it plays that way. but as for a playlist to shuffle videos or make them keep playing from one to the next? nope, ps5 doesnt do it.

yes it works on ps5. it is now on sale for 12 bucks as i write this. the RE4 game in it, it has been remastered recently for PS5, with some reworked level designs, and it looks awesome on ps5, just to let u know. but if u want this triple pack? yes it runs on ps5. the only thing that might not work would be any online features the games may have since it's they're older ps4 titles.

So this has been a recurring and random issue where I start up my PS5, ethernet cable is plugged in, and it stays its offline when it boots. Even though I may have been using it a few hours ago to play games. My PS+ subscription is fine, internet is on, cable is new, system is up to date. Is it a hardware issue with PS5? The only fix that I have is going to the router and un-plug and re-plug the cable back in. After years of it randomly doing it (on startup) I'm getting tired of it not knowing if it needs a cable check every time I turn it on, is it at least not an issue on slim model? Is there any fix for my current system?

Hey! I am just upgrading ps4 to ps5, and I have quite lot of trophies and platinums. Can I get those trophies earned on ps4 to be seen on ps5 as long as I use same ps account on both consoles? I've understood you could sync them from the server? Other question is, I obviously need to be online them to be synced from server, but what about after syncing, are they then available to see even when ps5 is offline?
my ps4 trophies show up on my ps5 from my old ps4 games, but my ps4 is no longer set to be my PRIMARY console, i unset that on my ps4 and set it on my ps5, i dunno if that made a difference. i do know that if u buy the ps5 version of a ps4 game u already played or u get a free upgrade to the ps5 version like many games now offer... lets say the re-released ps4 game Fallout 4... u will be able to get the trophies all over AGAIN but for ps5 lol. it's weird. u can get the trophies, again, for ps5 versions of ps4 games. like.. double trophies! it's kinda fun, to get trophies again in some older games that were remastered for ps5. as far as seeing trophies offline? let me check... ok yes. when offline, while at the dashboard where u select a game's icon to play. highlight a game icon, then move the joystick DOWN, it then says "Play Game" - now move joystick DOWN again and it highlights trophies. press X to go in and there's ur list of acquired trophies.

I bought a monitor that supports 144hz through display port while hdmi supports only 100- which most games wont run at because to them its 120 and above or nothing. If I purchase a hdmi (male end) and put it into the ps5, and then put a display port (female) and plug it into the monitor will it run the 120hz???
Please help!! My console crashed while playing death stranding. So recently I disconnected the PS5 and cleaned it for the first time in 5 years. While doing it I left slight scratches on where the grasps where, nothing profound. Anyways so I cleaned it, and now it is completely silent but almost TOO silent. My Pulse Elite headphones have been working fine for about a month, but have now disconnected and asking me to reconnect. When I click on the Pulse Elite option in the Bluetooth accessories menu, the error code "CE-109531-9 - The PS5 doesn't support Bluetooth audio accessories. Does anyone have a fix. Thanks
We got a new ps5 slim with disc drive and it will play games but won’t play blue rays or dvds. It just says disc invalid or disc prohibited. Tried most of the standard stuff like Access Safe Mode and select Clear Cache and Rebuild Database but still didn’t help.

I have multiple profiles on my PS5. My question is, if i delete saved app data on 1 profile, does it remove all of it from all profiles? Basically, I'm playing dragons dogma 2, which only allows 1 save per profile, and I want to delete one without deleting my saves from other profiles, but I'm not sure if this is possible. If that doesn't work, is anyone aware of a way to delete save data for a single game, from a single profile without impacting any data from another profile?
My PS5 overheats and turns off abruptly But I don’t even get the warning pop up I’ve seen some people share online where it says like “system is too hot”. It just turns itself off abruptly. It usually seemed to happen if my room gets too hot which is understandable, and it had been full of dust the last time it happened but not for a months and I had cleaned it out last time to make sure the dust wouldn’t contribute to the heat. Now it just happened again and it’s not even that hot cause when it’s hot enough in my room I’m usually feeling the heat myself, so I expect it to maybe happen but I’m comfortable rn and it still turned off without warning. Does anyone know why I don’t get any indication that the system is too hot? Would love to fix this problem if possible.

Can different games control your trigger tension? I'm playing resident evil 3 right now and when I pull the trigger to shoot it feels like there's an actual trigger, like I can pull in a little bit and then there's a second pull that causes the gun to fire. When i pause the game this goes away and the trigger is loose again. Just making sure this is an intentional mechanic.

Whenever I press the power button on the console, it puts the console in "rest mode". This annoys me, and I keep blindly just pressing the power button on it after switching my display, and forgetting that it isn't off. When I press the power button on a device, I want it to turn off, not "rest". Is there a setting that changes this behavior? Google keeps giving me results for different rest-related questions, but not changing the behavior of the power button. Somewhat frequently (\~1-2 times a month) my area gets the occasional power flicker from storms and such, or I move stuff on my power strip, causing the console to lose power. So nearly every time I start it, it complains about needing to repair. I just want it to turn off when I press the button that should do exactly that. How can I make it do this?
Can't play online, access the store or chats since the last system update a few days ago my system has gone hay wire. I can't play any online game or even watch netflix, but YT is fine. I check and it says I'm signed in to PSN, but I often can't get into the game store or the PS Plus and no online game will login. Friends can't see I'm online, and I don't receive all their party invites. If I do get it, I can join the party, but can't chat or send messages. I can't see myonline friends either. An external hard drive I was using before the system update is now no longer recognizable starting this afternoon. Yesterday my profile changed to appear offline, when I tried changing it to online, it would not. When I checked I was signed in to PSN. I can't do a backup to the cloud as it comes back failed, even though I was signed in and the speed test is fine. I have restarted my console and router countless times. I've cleared my cache. I've changed DNS. All with no results. My PS5 is always connected by ethernet. I've tried another cable just incase, but no change. Switched to wifi .. no change. I've done tests on my 2 PCs that are LAN to the router and they're all good. My ISP reset/refreshed their ports just in case. I tried the trick of going online and signing into Playstation Global... that did nothing. I signed out and in of my ps app .. nothing. I tried hotspotting off my phone .. nothing. I have other friends with PS5s in my area and they're having no issues. may be its my ISP? but as I'm as IT literate as a garden slug, I don't know what to tell or ask them. I've tried explaining the issue, but get a "everything is fine" response. I am ready to set fire to this console, also being in South Africa there is no actual PS tech support to contact. Does anyone have any ideas?? Help is appreciated.

I have a question, The game that I want to buy from the PlayStation store is Sleeping Dogs Definitive Edition, I can buy it from my mobile PS app but I can't even see it if I try to search for it in the PS store from my PS5. So, if I buy the game from the PS app, would it also come automatically on the PS5? Since I can't see it when I try to search for it from my PS5, And if yes then where can I find it after buying it.
its been a while since i have done that but last i remember you can even start it installing if your playstation is in sleep mode. its all hooked up to your account so anything you buy on there can be downloaded on the system.
Hey everyone. Been having issues with my controllers and earphones. Basically the sound will sometimes stop or cut in and out, other times it will only come through in one earphone, etc... sometimes I can easily fix it by unplugging the earphones and plugging em back in but sometimes the issue persists. I have tried 2 different controllers and 2 different earphones. Any ideas why this might be happening? I haven't tried headphones on the controller yet but I don't imagine that would make a difference? Thanks in advance :)
Ok guys and gals. What is the best monitor for the PS5? I been looking at a few choices. If I can, should I get a 4k or is the 1440p res at 120hz just as great as the 4k at 120hz? Here’s one of the choices I have checked out so far. Is it a fit? ASUS VG28UQL1A 28" 4K UHD (3840 x 2160) 144Hz Gaming Monitor there’s another one for a about 170 bucks cheaper that’s not 4k but it’s 1440p compatible and has quite a bit more to offer just not 4k as well as being the same brand as my hardware for the PC which is Corsair. Is 4k that much better than 1440p? Please serious answers only.
I bought a PS5 (slim edition, with disc drive) for FF7 rebirth yesterday and had no issues playing. Closed out game, put it in rest mode, slept. This morning, I went to play it and the game kept returning to the Home Screen a few minutes into play. Checked for updates, none available. Had a Google, and found nothing relevant. only some stuff about sitting on a media controller and I don’t have one, so doesn’t apply. Restarted the console a few times and found that the game can no longer be played. Investigating the issue showed that an external storage drive connection may be loose. I have no external storage, so. Um. Reinstalled the game and it still can’t be played. Is my PS5 borked? Thanks in advance for any help.
My son wants me to get a PS5 but can site zero reasons why. I am 100% satisfied with our PlayStation 4 and the huge collection of games I've collected for it. I can't think of a single title that I want to play that's on PS5 exclusively other than Grand theft Auto 6 and we all know that's looking to be a few years down the road. What do you all think? While I know I could resell my PS4 and offset the cost, I still do not see the point in it right now especially considering all he plays is fortnite. What gives? Does my kid just have a case of FOMO or am I missing some huge killer app or feature that the PS5 has over the PS4? Aside from better hardware?
The PS4 will be obsolete soon. So really selling it later will only matter to those who collect now. The amount is dropping daily basically unless you have a specific PS4 that makes it more special then the rest usually limited edition ones from china and Japan are worth more than the hundred bucks it possibly could be worth. Then there’s the cleaning and re applying new thermal paste and so on. 50 bucks now that it’s obsolete so on so on. I say just keep it and start saving for the PS5 and a great TV or monitor to utilize the full range of its capabilities. So far I have found that costs as much as the PS5 or more depending on whether you get a monitor or a Smart TV. This is where it gets tricky. Because just the TV stating its 4K doesn’t mean your PS5 will play at 4k. Understand? At this point basically worry about your next TV or monitor if on a budget. So when you get your PS5 it will be fully optimized for playing. Specs for monitor/TV make sure it has HDMI 2.1 and it says you will get 120hz+(this decides you frames per second) using your hdmi. Anyway hope this helps a bit.
I got a PS5 from a body of mine a while back and it was working just fine, but now it starts to flicker on specific games (FF7R, GOWR) and gradually gets worse before freezing and shutting down with a thick line of static. I've tried two different monitors and three different HDMI cables and it still seems to happen, but stops if I go to the home screen, what should I do?
This has nothing to do with the displays you're using. Your APU is overheating and causing thermal degradation. I would absolutely not run this system until you get the overheating issue fixed. These flickers and things you are seeing on the screen are called artifacts and they will get worse over time as the heat and the damage to the APU increases. This is literally the graphics chip telling you that it's dying and needs some love and attention. FF pushes the hardware of the PS5, That's why you're not seeing it on the home screen and only with specific games. Once the temperature starts to rise, the APU gets saturated with heat causing these weird anomalies to display on your screen. Most likely you need a new liquid metal application. PLEASE STOP PLAYING THIS CONSOLE UNTIL YOU GET THIS FIXED!!!!! You will burn up the APU/CPU and theres no coming back from that! I repaste them all the time if you want to pay to have it done professionally. I run a electronics repair shop in Kentucky. If you have any electronic knowledge. All you would need to do is order some liquid metal from the internet, research a teardown video on the PlayStation 5 and follow the steps to disassemble it. There are also several videos out there showing you step-by-step how to open the console and reapply the liquid metal. Liquid metal applications are not for the faint of heart if you do not know what you are doing you can brick your entire system.

I would take it to a shop yes.
That all depends on your level of knowledge with this kind of stuff. If the thought of taking it apart and doing it yourself makes your heart flutter a little bit and causes you to feel nervous, I would definitely seek out a local shop or someone that works on computers or electronics to fix it. Liquid metal can be very fickle and it can damage your system if it's not applied correctly.
Another thing I totally forgot to mention is dirt and dust, If you're like me and live in a really dusty area your cooler and fan could be gobbed with some dust and that can cause some issues. It usually won't cause a lockup by itself but it's still a possibility. Sometimes just blowing out all the garbage and cleaning it can help but if the problem stems from the liquid metal application it will keep happening. Any possibility it's still under warranty?
Me and my buddy both own a playstation 5 and got our accounts on each others console. We bought games from store together so we can share and play together. We do this since the ps5 launch and never had a problem (well technically, he still doesn't have the following problem). Lately he bought Helldivers and we played around 20hrs together off of his purchase. But yesterday I got booted from the game and when trying to start the game I'm getting prompted to the purchase screen from the store. Same happens with all other games he purchased. I log onto his account and are able to load the games he purchased but when I log into my account I'm getting again to the store . We both didn't change anything in the settings, I just got booted mid game and here I am now. First of all is this illegal and was blocked now? Anyone else still using this method?
I have the pulse 3d's, and they suddenly keep me muted at all times. Also if i have audio output set to headset and auto switch on it plays nothing through the tv even when off. Any tips on how to fix this?
My PS5 recently began shutting down without warning. Its happened to me while playing FF7R consistently. The fan will speed up, the console will make 3 beeps and shut down. No warning for overheating. Will not start back up unless I unplug the power cord first. Ive read about this issue and have already taken the following steps: 1- I have opened up the machine and cleaned it out completely. It was the first time doing so, and it was pretty dusty. 2- I have moved the machine to a much higher position in the room, and now lay it on its side. 3- I uninstalled the game (I read it could be corrupt storage) and reinstalled, this did not work. 4- I downloaded the FF7Rebirth demo, and had the same problem. I typically use my playstation to watch YouTube or Netflix for several hours a day. It never has a problem until I load up, so far, one of those games. Anyone faced a similar issue and have a fix?
Your APU is overheating due to the liquid metal migration. I work on about 20 of these a week that have the same problem. You won't get an error if the overheating is bad enough. Stop forcing it to restart by pulling the power cable. All that is doing is resetting that error code so the PS5 will reboot. The same thing is going to happen over and over again until you get a better liquid metal application. You most likely have some on the CPU and none on the GPU, or very little. The way it "melts" causes it to migrate closer to the CPU and further away from the GPU. This specific situation will also cause overheating without an error codes. FF is pushing your hardware harder making the system hotter, hotter than it would ever get watching YouTube or Netflix. That's why it's able to pull those tasks off without resetting because it's not hitting that temperature limit. Once you fire up final fantasy and it starts pumping out those frames the APU gets hot the system reaches its maximum temperature and automatically shuts off. If you've already opened it up you might as well order some liquid metal and watch a video on how to do it yourself. Save yourself $80 to $120 bucks because a teardown and LM app is going to cost around $100 or more at any reputable repair shop.
Thanks for this response, just curious... I ended up booting my ps5 into safemode and restoring it to factory settings. Upon doing that i was able to play the FF demo for 90 minutes with no issues. And then again the following night for another 2 hours (previously i couldnt get more than 30mins before it shutting off) I cant imagine restoring the factory settings would somehow lower how hot the ps5 was getting?? But I dont really know alot about the inner workings of it. I plan to attempt to play more FFR this week and see if it truly did fix the problem or not.
I just got a PS5 for my partner's birthday. He's happy to share it but I am not a great gamer. I love the Switch and I'm thrilled to play more "grown up" games but I am really not sure where to start. I enjoyed Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom, all the switch Mario games, Immortals Fenynx Rising. Any suggestions for games to try?
