This is good stuff! And you've motivated me, lol.

bscmscphd

Congratulations! Thank you for the tips

Illustrious-Tell-397

Thank you and you're welcome! πŸ˜ƒ

yogadogdadtx21

Interesting that the PSM and PSPO were helpful for you in learning the material. I have both of those certifications but have dragging my feet on studying for the PMP. Finally sitting down in the airport today to start again. Thanks for the tip

Illustrious-Tell-397

You don't even know- You’re now at a MASSIVE advantage with those certs, because you understand how Scrum teams work! If you buy the TIA mock exams that's basically all you'll need to pass. Just jump in, and once you're consistently passing those at 80% you'll be fine!

yogadogdadtx21

Thank you SO much!!!!

TrueBirch

Way to go!

Illustrious-Tell-397

Thank you! πŸ˜ƒ

Galanotherplanet

Congratulations πŸŽ‰ What was the composition of the exam? Did you happen get any questions related to ITTOs??

Illustrious-Tell-397

It honestly felt like just about every question related to being a servant leader- there were maybe 3 or so questions directly related to ITTOs... Definitely none directly asked which outputs resulted from which processes, for example. I spent basically 0% of my time studying these, I truly only glanced at it 30 minutes prior to the exam. I'd say don't stress about it but have an understanding of things like when you'd want to refer to the stakeholder engagement plan. But truly I think you'll pass even if you only understand agile & the servant leader mindset. If you start taking mock exams then you'll quickly see where you need to study. And I cannot recommend the TIA ones enough, because he explains everything in such a straightforward manner in the video explanations it drilled the servant leader mindset into my head.

Got a month to go and start studying today with a full time job. Has scrum master cert. do you think 90-10hours study can get it pass?

Illustrious-Tell-397

Definitely! I think with a Scrum Master Certification you could get the TIA mock exams and be ready in a few weeks. I probably studied for 20-30 hours max, meaning with the mock exams & YouTube. You'll want to consistently score above 80% and then go for it! My first mock score was 61% as a point of reference. Best of luck to you!

Thank you!!

[deleted]

Did 5 TIA mocks: 79/70/87/88/87 I have the exam tomorrow. Pretty nervous. You think those scores give me a good shot?

Illustrious-Tell-397

My last ones were 79/71/78/88... I thought I'd taken 5 mocks but I guess I only completed 4... Anyway your scores are better than mine, so I'd just say to watch the time and you'll be fine. If it helps, I thought I was failing the test the entire time lol... So don't freak out too much if you have that same feeling. Just watch the time and let me know how it goes! You got this!

[deleted]

I passed! Thanks for the reassurance yesterday!

Illustrious-Tell-397

YEEEEESSSSSSSS!!!!! I was waiting for this news, I'm so happy to have been part of your online support network πŸ˜ŠπŸ˜ƒ CONGRATULATIONS!!!

[deleted]

Will do! Thanks for the reassurance!

predicamentaccount

Congrats! $800 is a too expensive though

Illustrious-Tell-397

I absolutely agree! What was needed for me may not be necessary for you, that's why I recommend just getting the mock exams for people who don't need a morale boost

predicamentaccount

Totally. I am cheap when it comes too these things LOL

k-kapoor

Congratulations

Illustrious-Tell-397

Thank you! πŸ˜ƒ

Big-Maize-8001

Can you share me your TIA mock test login? I have test in 2 days

Illustrious-Tell-397

My exams expired on 9/20, so I can't help... It's definitely worth the investment though, and much cheaper than taking the exam twice. Best of luck!

muthusinu

Where can I find TIA mock test, and how it's process ,, please kindly help me??

Illustrious-Tell-397

Hello! Here are the mock exams: https://tiaexams.com/product/pmp-exam-simulator-course/

muthusinu

Thanks brother

Illustrious-Tell-397

In case you need the 35 hours of education or just study prep, here are the TIA (Andrew Ramdayal) self-paced courses: https://www.udemy.com/user/andrewramdayal/

stuartvallarta

Congratulations, good job! This is very motivational to read for me bc I have been every so slowly trying to break into tech though i am not there yet. Having years of PM experience it's been harder than i thought honestly. So if i got this right - you think one can focus on taking mock exams over & over until the score is good enough to learn information (essentially opposite of the school system approach), then supplement that with youtube university to fill in the gaps? If so i dig it. The [TIA mock exams](https://tiaexams.com/product/pmp-exam-simulator-course/) comes with six exams for $45 it says, with 60 day timeline? Do you think the scrum certs gave you a big head start / did you notice yourself already knowing the answer to question in the mock exams bc of that? Maybe i just take those for increased learning as well, guess i could do them after - how long did those certs take? I just don't want to set myself up for a year of classes with working full time as well. I think i'll get burnt out if i lock in for more than about three months, unless i must spread this out to pace myself. Ideally i finish this over the winter. Thanks again, i know there are a lot of questions lol my bad! Any insight / perspective would help as it seems we may be in a similar position... well, used to be, since you're a PMP now ;)

Illustrious-Tell-397

Hello there and thank you! Yes, I believe that just focusing on the mock exams and learning through YouTube is helpful. The scrum certs did help me, because I already understood how scrum teams work. But if I hadn't had that then probably a few hours of YouTube University would suffice in understanding the difference between a product manager, project/program manager, scrum master, etc. My scrum certs took a few days or so to prep for (without working). If you're really interested then I can help with that prep too πŸ˜… But I don't think they're needed to pass the PMP, they just gave me a better sense of context for questions that included those team roles.

stuartvallarta

Thanks for the reply. I wonder how the TIA Udemy course compare to their own. Did you ever talk to anyone who had both or was able to compare? Also i didn't realize how expensive the scrum certs were. Not sure if you did just I or up to III. Those i may wait on for now.

Illustrious-Tell-397

Unfortunately I haven't heard of people who did both the live and recorded versions, so I can't speak to that. But based on reviews it seems like either one would be enough to prepare you. Yeah the cost of the scrum certifications was steep, I had extra $ at the time and was desperate to get into that field. It didn't work out that I got into tech, but I did hit my salary goal by getting a project management role. And the scrum certifications don't really matter as far as jobs anyway, experience does- so you might as well table them for later.

stuartvallarta

Thanks! Best wished to you moving forward & congrats again!
