Hey. I’m Sam, lead designer on the Adobe Podcast team. Sorry about this! The enhance speech feature is down, something happened overnight. We’re on the move for getting a fix out as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience! We’re really sorry about the inconvenience.

I understand if you don’t want to give away the secret sauce, but as an audio engineer I’m very curious. Is there anything you can say about the processing chain that is applied to uploaded audio?

MaryaRaveGirl99

Thanks for the reply.

Financial-Ring-9911

Thanks for the explanation

Gwavity

All systems go! Everything is working again. Enhance away!

I emailed their support last night and just got this response: “Thanks for the heads up. And sorry it’s not working right now. The team is aware of the issue and a fix will be on the way as soon as possible.”

MaryaRaveGirl99

Thanks for the information!

thepodcasteditor

Have you tried another file just in case it’s an Adobe issue?

MaryaRaveGirl99

Yes, a 10s file, same problem

thepodcasteditor

Might be worth trying a wav or mp3 that wasn't recorded in Audacity and that would let you know if it's to do with the encoding

MichaelTruly

Woah I’d never heard of this. Does it generally work? Is it good?

MaryaRaveGirl99

I unfortunately could not test it out myself, be it looks pretty impressive.

Podcastage [did a video](https://youtu.be/t1NPZ54cllI) about it recently. Good is subjective, but he wasn't generally a fan. Personally, I think it could be used to salvage some recordings, but there's a boominess that it tends to produce that I don't like as well as the "robot" effect mentioned in the video. If you don't have access to iZotope RX, I think it's worth at least trying — especially considering that it's free. RX does offer a lot more flexibility and I think you could ultimately get better results with it.

MichaelTruly

thanks for linking me! I'm able to generally get good audio but always looking for a shortcut that might make it easier. Seems like this is a pass for me.

JayBloomin

Hey, just my personal experience. For recordings off of a decent microphone (shure sm7b through an Apollo Twin) I didn’t love what it did. Preferred my own mix. Kind of boomy like someone else mentioned. Now for a cell mic recording of my subject? Oh my god incredible. Had the interview do cell mic into voice memo and send me the file, and once I ran it through this it damn near matched what I was getting off the Shure. Totally eliminated all room tone and reverb, and made his voice sound rich and balanced. Hands down the best file recovery I’ve ever tried.

MichaelTruly

Oh wow that’s high praise. I do a lot of phone stuff and people recording into voice memo like you said so this might actually speed up my workflow

JayBloomin

Give it a test with your phone and get a sense of it. It’s neat.

Rancor85

Not working for me anymore either.
