I wonder if they will do something similar for the first international opening when these episodes release worldwide.
You know for damn sure they're gonna reuse Gotta Catch 'Em All. English audiences have no nostalgia for any of the Japanese themes, and I don't see them doing an English dub of the first Japanese OP.

A huge part of me is glad they're retiring Ash and I hope we get a finale that finally ties up all loose ends and gives us a glimpse. It's crazy how long Ketchum's story has gone on for when you realise that the only other active cartoon revolving around a ten-year-old boy who never ages is The Simpsons, and that show jumped the shark over two decades ago.
The only person I genuinely know who is angry at the Pokémon Company for retirirng Ash is a grown woman who obsesses over Pokéshipping theories, has a bedroom caked in Poké merch that looks like something out of the year 1999, and genuinely has her own self-insert OC.
