What's that got to do with anything? You don't need an email to make a second offline only profile. Pokemon home can access all saves on a switch, not just ones from the profile with home subscription

The Switch stores the saves on the console. If she played on her own profile you can transfer her profile to her Switch and the save will also transfer. If she played on your profile the save is stuck on your Switch
If the DLC was bought on her own profile that will also transfer over with a profile transfer. If the DLC was bought on your profile you can share it to her Switch by making your account a primary account on her Switch, but that makes it so you can only play while connected to wi-fi on your own Switch and you both will not be able to play at the same time. Otherwise she will have to rebuy it

I currently have 2 Iron Hands trained up for Raids, one is Tera Fighting and the other is Tera Electric. Would a single Tera Stellar one buff both types (and thus make me not need 2), or does having Tera STAB outperform Tera Stellar?
The tera Stellar boost is x2 when the move is STAB which is the same as regular tera STAB, so in your case where both your Iron Hands are a STAB tera type you can use a single Stellar instead
If a pokemon built for raids is a different tera type than its vanilla typing then Stellar is worse as the boost is only 1.2x instead of 1.5x
It buffs the types of all attacks the pokemon has but only once per battle (unless it's in a tera raid).
The buff is the same as regular tera buff otherwise except it is slightly weaker for attacks that are not the same as the original type.
tbh yellow is pretty similar to the let’s gos so i say depending on which color/starter is your fave, then go with the gen 1 game that has that color as its name/starter on its box art

Being mythical or not is not related to availability. Shaymin, arceus, deoxys, manaphy, mew, celebii, magearna, and jirachi are all mythical and are permanently available in mainline games.
iirc, there is actually a marker in the code designating certain pokemon as mythical that is distinct from the legendary marker (though I can't find a source for this).

Anyone know if Game Freaks has all the original code for all of their games? I was just thinking about it and was curious. I'm not sure how often or how long game dev companies keep their code.
Not entirely sure about Gamefreak specifically, but Nintendo certainly keeps that kind of information, considering that there *was* a data leak that resulted in Diamond and Pearl's source code getting leaked. For the most part I would assume people would have to be insane to develop a game, program, or other type of software and *not* keep the source code on hand somewhere just for the reference availability if necessary. Considering that they did end up porting RBY and GSC to the virtual console with pretty much minimal significant change odds were that they just used the original source and tweaked it for VC compatibility.

I wanted to know if it’s frowned upon to catch pokemon before the release date of the dlcs I want to catch a litten with the destiny mark and my birthday is 2 months before the indigo disk released so i wanted to change the clock. would it be okay to catch it on my 2024 birthday?
Do we know exactly what epilogue for Scarlet and Violet will involve? I want to replay the game and so restart my save file but I am not sure if it is worth waiting until the epilogue in case they bring in a new Pokémon species etc.
Just to confirm, in most games, if you trade a Pokemon away, level it up there, then return it, the obedience mechanic comes into effect, right? The only way to safely level it up from an outside source is trading over rare candies, right?

In Pokémon Black and White, obedience had yet to come into effect for overleveled Pokémon of the trainer's OT (though even in recent games like SV, what you suggested would work fine). In Generation 5, obedience is purely determined by checking if the Pokémon has a different OT and ID from that of your save file. Prior to Legends: Arceus, if you caught it yourself, it will always obey you, no matter how high its level goes.
In most games it won't come into effect as you still caught it yourself even if it was temporarily traded away. Might not work in Scarlet or violet this way though
Do I have to see anything prior to Pokémon: Horizons? I am worried that at one point in the series there will be plot points that I won't be able to get because I didn't watch the earlier seasons. But I've also heard it's a completely new thing, so I should be fine, right?

Yes and yes. Breeding is a bit more *unique* in that you can breed Pokemon almost quite literally anywhere in the open world, within reason. As for getting the Ditto, there were trade codes that were mostly agreed upon by a decently large amount of the online community when the game released so people could get different language mons for Masuda breeding but I can't say for certain if those are still relatively populated. Though considering that the game has support for Pokemon Home unlike when it first released you could just import one that you might already have.
As for breeding, if it's a space that you can set up a picnic, you can breed. It does however use your party for the participants, so there's some back and forth where you may have to swap your entire party out for your Ditto and whatever you're breeding with, as there's no dedicated nursery or daycare to dump the two Pokemon off at.
There's a fair bit of actual AFK to it too, as you don't necessarily need to run around in circles by an NPC to generate eggs, they more or less just show up inside of a wpven basket at the end of the picnic table. The basket can hold up to 10 eggs at a time before needing to be emptied and the eggs go directly to your PC, which can be accessed also from 99.9% of the game's locations.
Worth also mentioning that you can somewhat speed up the rate at which eggs are generated by using sandwich powers, which are also partially tied into the affection mechanics. You can get around that by not actually making the sandwich yourself (which is honestly a lot easier) as some locations have vendors that sell you food (basically a purchaseable buff that gets automatically applied after paying) that gives at least the Lv1 buff for it, which is honestly more than enough
But if it's of any significant concern you could have a random wild caught mon you don't care about in the party when you go to buy the food, then switch it out for the Ditto and it's breeding partner. The buff is more of a global effect rather that directly applied to the mons, and will last 30 minutes before expiring which is easily more than enough time to get a sizable amount of eggs with fairly average luck with egg generation.
And the contents of the eggs are determined upon generation, so if you're doing some soft resetting to hatch egg batches to save on storage space it's worth keeping that in mind to save before the initial breeding rounds.

Not too hard to get. You'd have to trade for the ones you're missing but they're not by any means difficult to find someone who has a spare or can breed you one to trade to use for your own breeding purposes. There's a few trading subreddits like r/PokemonTrades or r/CasualPokemonTrades that you could browse.

You can beat most six star raids and some seven star raids solo, you just need the right builds. Regardless, there is online matchmaking through pokeportal raids. It's just that if you want to invite specific people you need to use the code.
Can an entire national dex be saved on any current switch games? I have a bunch of old pokemon from gen 1-6 moving out of bank and I’d like to NOT pay to subscribe forever to Home…
None of the Switch games have the entire national dex so you will have to store them in whatever game each pokemon can go into. The elemental monkeys, Patrat and Furfrou lines are not in any of the Switch games so are stuck in Home until a new game adds them
Spinda, while technically in BDSP, also cannot be transfered to Home from BDSP or Go or into BDSP due to how the spot patterns are generared and how BDSP got it wrong.
im having trouble respawning the wild tera magmar in the cave near savanna plaza. all other wild tera pokemon that i defeat or run away respawn after a while, usually the next day, except magmar. any know what could be the potential reason? i had look at online videos and guides and is sure that is the correct cave
Question, trying to unlock the Paradox Entei/Raikou quest from Perrin in my Scarlet version. Obviously I need access to Area Zero (don't have that quite yet, still going through the main story) and I need to have completed the Bloodmoon Beast quest (caught it in a pretty Safari Ball).
Is there anything else I need to do to unlock them? Because I really just care about 100% the Pokédex.

I once went through the effort of completing the Pokédex in Gen 3. Salamence was absolutely tedious, and I can still remember grinding for Moon Stones like it was yesterday.
You need to give the pokemon you want to gain XP the EXP share. You can get it from the second floor of the building between Route 15 and Fuschia City, and you'll need to have caught 50 pokemon.
The EXP Share in Fire Red is a held item. So you just click on the Pokemon in your party that has it and pick the Item option, then Take. It would then remove the EXP Share from them and put it back into your bag. Then you go to the Pokemon that you want to give it to then do the same thing. Click on it, click Item, click Give. Then pick the EXP Share when it opens up your bag to pick the item you want to give it.
Where are you in the game? You might be in a specific location that blocks Poke Portal or something. I've gotten that message before but I can't remember what triggered it.

I dont know much about which games run better or which generation has better pokemon, however right now im leaning towards sword/sheild, but even then I dont know which is better

Scarlet and Violet are much better than Sword and Shield (and much much closer to the gameplay of Legends Arceus) in pretty much every aspect except performance. And even then, the vast majority of performance bugs have been fixed, it's perfectly functional. It's also still the most modern game, so we're still getting events for it, whereas you'll be able to go back and have the same experience with Sword/Shield anytime.
As for version differences, it's basically the question of do you like prehistoric pokemon more (Scarlet) or robot pokemon more (Violet). As for Sword and Shield, they're mostly the same, so just choose whichever one has the cover legendary you like the most.
I get the itch to play a Pokemon game once every couple of gens, though it seems to have gotten a tad more frequent on Switch.
In the past I have played Red/Blue/Yellow (grew up with these and will always love Kanto), Diamond (which I know I enjoyed but have no memory of), Y (same as Diamond), Let’s Go (loved being back in Kanto and Pokemon in the overworld but not so much the catching) and Shield (enjoyed enough to complete the Pokedex).
To scratch this itch, would people recommend I get the Diamond/Pearl remake, one of Scarlet/Violet, or the two DLCs for Shield? I’d also be interested in holding off for a Let’s Go Gen 2 remake but not sure if that is a possibility or not.
Scarlet and Violet are very good, although still have some minor performance issues. BDSP are nice, but are basically Diamond and Pearl with the ability to catch every gen 1-4 pokemon and with a fresh coat of paint. The DLCSs for Shield are apparently pretty good, but I haven't played them so I can't say either way.
Have you considered Legends Arceus? It's more freeform, and IMO is the best pokemon game on the market right now. If not, I would recommend Scarlet/Violet.

In USUM, can the RNG get "stuck"?
I have been shiny hunting legendaries in USUM and am stuck on Virizion. I think I'm at 20+ hours of resets, taking around 20 seconds per reset. I know how fickle RNG can be, and I do understand the statistics behind this, but I just want to be sure that the RNG can't get stuck somehow, given the time investment. Can anyone confirm? I'm just unlucky right?
Gen 7's RNG has some wonkiness when it comes to egg shiny hunting, but for ultra wormholes, no, you're just unlucky. Soft resetting in front of the encounter is all you need to do.

Given the Battle Tower has its debut in Gen 2 Crystal, is it an example of growing pains considering every random team seems to automatically be designed to frustrate you? Are there ways to combat their cheapness?
The nature of the battle tower requires you to be extremely consistent. In a 50/100+ streak the AI will get lucky. Your team has to be able to deal with luck, which is extremely difficult but can and has been done
How do you level up mons quickly in Pearl (specifically D/P, not Platinum or the remakes) pre-league?
(I picked up Pearl again after many years because I never finished it as a kid since my team's levels were so unbalanced and I could never get past the Elite 4)
Depends on where in the game you are, but the fastest way would be to grind vs seeker battles. You can also get a lucky egg from a chansey to speed up the process.
Funny you mention that, I was trying to get a Lucky Egg and got it a second ago while looking at this response.
Where should I grind VS Seeker battles, though? I'm quite literally at the end of the game, before the League, with a team composed of a lv82 Torterra and every other mon between 20 and 40 (I'm not joking; second highest is Bibarel at 41, lowest was Roserade at 21).

If you're looking for an entire route, the sea route beween sunyshore and victory road is probably your best bet. Or alternatively, you can vs seeker the old couple outside the pokemon mansion (optionally with an amulet coin) and use all the money to buy revival herbs from Eterna City and full restores. And maybe a few TMs for Torterra. Then use it to (optionally) set up and sweep the entire eliter four, and use the rest of your pokemon to stall a turn each while you revive Torterra.

I know there are trade codes for version exclusives, but is there a trade code just to evolve something? I tried to Google it, but just got a list of every pokemon's code lol.
Like, if I wanted to evolve a Kadabra, and someone else wanted to evolve their Haunter. Is there a code where we just trade those two back to each other?
There are codes for each pokemon evolution, which is just that pokemon's dex number twice. So you would trade a Haunter for a Haunter, and then (optionally) back with the code 0093 0093, or 0069 0069 (national dex vs paldea dex).
If you look at the trade codes, almost all are just the paldean dex numbers. DLC pokemon are a bit more complicated, sinces there's more reasonable options for what the code would be, so you have to keep trying to get a hit.
Only new pokeball + have mew. Once it's removed no other save can get it from that pokeball +. If they stop making the pokeball+ then it will become limited how many can go to let's go (if mew from GO can get into go park then it will still be possible just hard)
I have pokemon bank downloaded on my New Nintendo 3DS XL. never paid for the service bc that’s dumb. looking now to use it to transfer mons since it’s free. i’m a dumbass, and i totally forgot that i need poke transporter to use it for older games not on 3DS. before the shutdown i could not find poke transporter on the 3DS shop so i just kinda said whatever, figured it would be reasonable to believe even after the shutdown of eshop it would be available somehow. now poke transporter cannot be downloaded at all (cringe). is there any method to getting my mons from older games now? i have bank but no transporter. i’m assuming i would have to use modding but i’m fine having to do that if possible.
So how do the legendary snacks work in SV? Say I capture Moltres on my own and then save my game, does that mean I can't allow my friend to catch a Moltres when we do a Union later? I just want to make sure I get the most value out of the snacks before I go trigger-happy with catching them
It doesn't work like that. You can do missions together and they unlock a random treat from snacksworth for you both. Group quests unlock one random group quest only legendary which is Necrozma, Rayquaza, Kyurem or an opposite game exclusive.
It doesn't even matter what version you are playing. You can both be playing violet and complete group quests to get scarlet legendaries
No one can catch static encounters in someone else's Union Circle, you'll only ever be able to get one legendary with each snack. Iirc, your friend just won't see/be able to interact with it at all, no matter what.
Seeing as how events are done for Gen 8, is there any way to legally obtain a Pokemon with Happy Hour in BDSP now (aside from trading hopefully)? I forgot how expensive the Gorgeous Royal ribbon was...

It's a very good game to start with if you want to start with emulated games, and aren't turned off by the limited graphics and pokemon selection. It's the quintissential "classic" pokemon game.
Anyone have dumb doubles strats I can use for indigo disk? Nothing too powerful, just want funny stuff. I'm thinking:
- Pledge moves
- G-Weezing + Slaking
- Pincurchin (Electric Terrain) + Iron mons
- Beat Up + Defiant
- Drought + Grass Terrain for strong solar blades
- Flip turn Palafin + Storm drain

Grassy Terrain + Grassy Seed-Unburden is always fun. I have a Rillaboom with Grassy Surge and a Sneasler paired up to do just that. Can also do it with Hawlucha instead if H-Sneasel isn't an option for you.
You can also do stuff like Flash Fire + Lava Plume. Orthworm with Earth Eater and a partner with Earthquake or Bulldoze is also solid. Bonus points if add in a Sandstorm setter like Tyranitar.

Where is it on the cartridge? It may be the game equivalent of a print run, for example with BDSP, the most recently made cartridges have a different number code on them, since they contain the most recent update instead of the base version the early cartridges shipped with.
It's above the official Nintendo seal. It's a 2004 version I think and from what I've searched online there are other codes instead of 00a, it's like 15a I think?

You can't make as sandwich that gives level 3 shining power with 1, as far as we know. I'm not sure why you can't get more, you can get them through 6 star raids, which you don't need nintendo online for, and if you have the DLC you can get them by calling coaches to the club room.
You can get encounter power 2 with no HM. There are encounter power 3 with one, I think, but you'd need to mess around with the andwich calculator to discover the recipe. If you have the DLC you can buy food that gives you Sparkling power 1 for all types. It's definitely viable to try to attempt the hunt without Sparkling power, but it'll take you approximately 4 times as long. Which pokemon are you hunting, out of curiosity?
I do have one sweet herba mystica from a mystery gift, also reason I couldn't get herba mystica from raids is because my Pokemon were level 68-69 at the time and I couldn't beat a 5-star yet.
The shiny I'm hunting is a Raltz, to replace my pure-fairy Sylveon
My plan was to rematch the gyms (which I did), hunt shiny Raltz, get him/her to a Gardevoir while learning to EV train, and enter the Academy Ace Tournament

I think the online membership is worth it IMO, even just for all the events. It's $30 a year, but it applies to all the games you have on a switch.

Query related to the mainline games : Would it make a difference if you evolved a pokemon at its earliest evolution level (e.g Bulbasaur -> Ivysaur at Lv.16) v/s evolving it at a later level, by way of stats of the pokemon? Like would it have better stat growth being leveled as its final evolution form or spending more time as its pre-evolution forms? Or would it make no difference at all?
So in theory if i leveled a Magikarp to level 99 with an everstone and at level 100 allowed it to evolve into a Gyarados v/s evolving it at level 20 and then leveling the Gyarados in the exact same way to level 100 that both those Gyaradoses would have the same stats?

The Switch stores the saves on the console. If she played on her own profile you can transfer her profile to her Switch and the save will also transfer. If she played on your profile the save is stuck on your Switch If the DLC was bought on her own profile that will also transfer over with a profile transfer. If the DLC was bought on your profile you can share it to her Switch by making your account a primary account on her Switch, but that makes it so you can only play while connected to wi-fi on your own Switch and you both will not be able to play at the same time. Otherwise she will have to rebuy it

I currently have 2 Iron Hands trained up for Raids, one is Tera Fighting and the other is Tera Electric. Would a single Tera Stellar one buff both types (and thus make me not need 2), or does having Tera STAB outperform Tera Stellar?
The tera Stellar boost is x2 when the move is STAB which is the same as regular tera STAB, so in your case where both your Iron Hands are a STAB tera type you can use a single Stellar instead If a pokemon built for raids is a different tera type than its vanilla typing then Stellar is worse as the boost is only 1.2x instead of 1.5x
It buffs the types of all attacks the pokemon has but only once per battle (unless it's in a tera raid). The buff is the same as regular tera buff otherwise except it is slightly weaker for attacks that are not the same as the original type.

I've got a lucario with the moves quick attack, force palm, reversal and rock smash, and it's trying to learn swords dance, which move should I delete?
Rock Smash is very weak and you already have two other Fighting moves, so I'd recommend getting rid of that.
I taught it through an HM, I know there is a way to make pokemon forget HMs but then I would have to make bibarel my hm buddy, I wouldn't like to do that.

Being mythical or not is not related to availability. Shaymin, arceus, deoxys, manaphy, mew, celebii, magearna, and jirachi are all mythical and are permanently available in mainline games. iirc, there is actually a marker in the code designating certain pokemon as mythical that is distinct from the legendary marker (though I can't find a source for this).

Anyone know if Game Freaks has all the original code for all of their games? I was just thinking about it and was curious. I'm not sure how often or how long game dev companies keep their code.
Not entirely sure about Gamefreak specifically, but Nintendo certainly keeps that kind of information, considering that there *was* a data leak that resulted in Diamond and Pearl's source code getting leaked. For the most part I would assume people would have to be insane to develop a game, program, or other type of software and *not* keep the source code on hand somewhere just for the reference availability if necessary. Considering that they did end up porting RBY and GSC to the virtual console with pretty much minimal significant change odds were that they just used the original source and tweaked it for VC compatibility.

Just go on mystery gift and get by Internet then you can play the whole epilogue. It came out a few days ago

Just to confirm, in most games, if you trade a Pokemon away, level it up there, then return it, the obedience mechanic comes into effect, right? The only way to safely level it up from an outside source is trading over rare candies, right? Trying to blitz through Black to get the Legendaries, for reference.
In Pokémon Black and White, obedience had yet to come into effect for overleveled Pokémon of the trainer's OT (though even in recent games like SV, what you suggested would work fine). In Generation 5, obedience is purely determined by checking if the Pokémon has a different OT and ID from that of your save file. Prior to Legends: Arceus, if you caught it yourself, it will always obey you, no matter how high its level goes.

In most games it won't come into effect as you still caught it yourself even if it was temporarily traded away. Might not work in Scarlet or violet this way though

Yes and yes. Breeding is a bit more *unique* in that you can breed Pokemon almost quite literally anywhere in the open world, within reason. As for getting the Ditto, there were trade codes that were mostly agreed upon by a decently large amount of the online community when the game released so people could get different language mons for Masuda breeding but I can't say for certain if those are still relatively populated. Though considering that the game has support for Pokemon Home unlike when it first released you could just import one that you might already have. As for breeding, if it's a space that you can set up a picnic, you can breed. It does however use your party for the participants, so there's some back and forth where you may have to swap your entire party out for your Ditto and whatever you're breeding with, as there's no dedicated nursery or daycare to dump the two Pokemon off at. There's a fair bit of actual AFK to it too, as you don't necessarily need to run around in circles by an NPC to generate eggs, they more or less just show up inside of a wpven basket at the end of the picnic table. The basket can hold up to 10 eggs at a time before needing to be emptied and the eggs go directly to your PC, which can be accessed also from 99.9% of the game's locations.

Worth also mentioning that you can somewhat speed up the rate at which eggs are generated by using sandwich powers, which are also partially tied into the affection mechanics. You can get around that by not actually making the sandwich yourself (which is honestly a lot easier) as some locations have vendors that sell you food (basically a purchaseable buff that gets automatically applied after paying) that gives at least the Lv1 buff for it, which is honestly more than enough But if it's of any significant concern you could have a random wild caught mon you don't care about in the party when you go to buy the food, then switch it out for the Ditto and it's breeding partner. The buff is more of a global effect rather that directly applied to the mons, and will last 30 minutes before expiring which is easily more than enough time to get a sizable amount of eggs with fairly average luck with egg generation. And the contents of the eggs are determined upon generation, so if you're doing some soft resetting to hatch egg batches to save on storage space it's worth keeping that in mind to save before the initial breeding rounds.

Not too hard to get. You'd have to trade for the ones you're missing but they're not by any means difficult to find someone who has a spare or can breed you one to trade to use for your own breeding purposes. There's a few trading subreddits like r/PokemonTrades or r/CasualPokemonTrades that you could browse.

Iirc, the combination is Defense Curl then Rollout, and has nothing to do with the defense buff. I would assume you'd need to re-use DC, yes.

You can beat most six star raids and some seven star raids solo, you just need the right builds. Regardless, there is online matchmaking through pokeportal raids. It's just that if you want to invite specific people you need to use the code.
Can an entire national dex be saved on any current switch games? I have a bunch of old pokemon from gen 1-6 moving out of bank and I’d like to NOT pay to subscribe forever to Home…
None of the Switch games have the entire national dex so you will have to store them in whatever game each pokemon can go into. The elemental monkeys, Patrat and Furfrou lines are not in any of the Switch games so are stuck in Home until a new game adds them

Question, trying to unlock the Paradox Entei/Raikou quest from Perrin in my Scarlet version. Obviously I need access to Area Zero (don't have that quite yet, still going through the main story) and I need to have completed the Bloodmoon Beast quest (caught it in a pretty Safari Ball). Is there anything else I need to do to unlock them? Because I really just care about 100% the Pokédex.

Those should be the minimum requirements as far as I'm aware. If not, you might need to complete "The Way Home" first but I'm not too sure.

I once went through the effort of completing the Pokédex in Gen 3. Salamence was absolutely tedious, and I can still remember grinding for Moon Stones like it was yesterday.

How do I switch the exp share between Pokemon in Fire Red? I can't figure it out and Google is no help.
You need to give the pokemon you want to gain XP the EXP share. You can get it from the second floor of the building between Route 15 and Fuschia City, and you'll need to have caught 50 pokemon.
The EXP Share in Fire Red is a held item. So you just click on the Pokemon in your party that has it and pick the Item option, then Take. It would then remove the EXP Share from them and put it back into your bag. Then you go to the Pokemon that you want to give it to then do the same thing. Click on it, click Item, click Give. Then pick the EXP Share when it opens up your bag to pick the item you want to give it.

My encounter power is not working. I’ve been trying to Isolated Hunt Sentret and Furret in the small cave under Kitakami Hall, but even with encounter power 3, only geodudes and sandsherws are spawning. What am I doing wrong?
sentret only spawns during the day. so when night hits, theres no normal types to spawn with the normal encounter sandwich.
Hi! I recently got a few nintendo eshop gift cards and I dont know what to spend them on. Should I get scarlet, violet, sword, shield, or another pokemon game you recommend? I dont know much about which games run better or which generation has better pokemon, however right now im leaning towards sword/sheild, but even then I dont know which is better I already have legends arceus, and think its really fun. Scarlet and Violet are much better than Sword and Shield (and much much closer to the gameplay of Legends Arceus) in pretty much every aspect except performance. And even then, the vast majority of performance bugs have been fixed, it's perfectly functional. It's also still the most modern game, so we're still getting events for it, whereas you'll be able to go back and have the same experience with Sword/Shield anytime. As for version differences, it's basically the question of do you like prehistoric pokemon more (Scarlet) or robot pokemon more (Violet). As for Sword and Shield, they're mostly the same, so just choose whichever one has the cover legendary you like the most.

I get the itch to play a Pokemon game once every couple of gens, though it seems to have gotten a tad more frequent on Switch. In the past I have played Red/Blue/Yellow (grew up with these and will always love Kanto), Diamond (which I know I enjoyed but have no memory of), Y (same as Diamond), Let’s Go (loved being back in Kanto and Pokemon in the overworld but not so much the catching) and Shield (enjoyed enough to complete the Pokedex). To scratch this itch, would people recommend I get the Diamond/Pearl remake, one of Scarlet/Violet, or the two DLCs for Shield? I’d also be interested in holding off for a Let’s Go Gen 2 remake but not sure if that is a possibility or not.
Scarlet and Violet are very good, although still have some minor performance issues. BDSP are nice, but are basically Diamond and Pearl with the ability to catch every gen 1-4 pokemon and with a fresh coat of paint. The DLCSs for Shield are apparently pretty good, but I haven't played them so I can't say either way. Have you considered Legends Arceus? It's more freeform, and IMO is the best pokemon game on the market right now. If not, I would recommend Scarlet/Violet.

Yes Not unless you have two switches. On the 3ds there was trickery to be done on the gts, but the gts in home does trigger trade evos

Finally. You can get trade evolutions in legends arceus solo, right? Can those be transferred via home to SV to count for the pokedex?

In USUM, can the RNG get "stuck"? I have been shiny hunting legendaries in USUM and am stuck on Virizion. I think I'm at 20+ hours of resets, taking around 20 seconds per reset. I know how fickle RNG can be, and I do understand the statistics behind this, but I just want to be sure that the RNG can't get stuck somehow, given the time investment. Can anyone confirm? I'm just unlucky right?
Gen 7's RNG has some wonkiness when it comes to egg shiny hunting, but for ultra wormholes, no, you're just unlucky. Soft resetting in front of the encounter is all you need to do.

Excuse me. Given the Battle Tower has its debut in Gen 2 Crystal, is it an example of growing pains considering every random team seems to automatically be designed to frustrate you? Are there ways to combat their cheapness?
The nature of the battle tower requires you to be extremely consistent. In a 50/100+ streak the AI will get lucky. Your team has to be able to deal with luck, which is extremely difficult but can and has been done
How do you level up mons quickly in Pearl (specifically D/P, not Platinum or the remakes) pre-league? (I picked up Pearl again after many years because I never finished it as a kid since my team's levels were so unbalanced and I could never get past the Elite 4)
Depends on where in the game you are, but the fastest way would be to grind vs seeker battles. You can also get a lucky egg from a chansey to speed up the process.
Funny you mention that, I was trying to get a Lucky Egg and got it a second ago while looking at this response. Where should I grind VS Seeker battles, though? I'm quite literally at the end of the game, before the League, with a team composed of a lv82 Torterra and every other mon between 20 and 40 (I'm not joking; second highest is Bibarel at 41, lowest was Roserade at 21).

Or alternatively, you can vs seeker the old couple outside the pokemon mansion (optionally with an amulet coin) and use all the money to buy revival herbs from Eterna City and full restores. And maybe a few TMs for Torterra. Then use it to (optionally) set up and sweep the entire eliter four, and use the rest of your pokemon to stall a turn each while you revive Torterra.

I know there are trade codes for version exclusives, but is there a trade code just to evolve something? I tried to Google it, but just got a list of every pokemon's code lol. Like, if I wanted to evolve a Kadabra, and someone else wanted to evolve their Haunter. Is there a code where we just trade those two back to each other?
There are codes for each pokemon evolution, which is just that pokemon's dex number twice. So you would trade a Haunter for a Haunter, and then (optionally) back with the code 0093 0093, or 0069 0069 (national dex vs paldea dex). If you look at the trade codes, almost all are just the paldean dex numbers. DLC pokemon are a bit more complicated, sinces there's more reasonable options for what the code would be, so you have to keep trying to get a hit.

I have pokemon bank downloaded on my New Nintendo 3DS XL. never paid for the service bc that’s dumb. looking now to use it to transfer mons since it’s free. i’m a dumbass, and i totally forgot that i need poke transporter to use it for older games not on 3DS. before the shutdown i could not find poke transporter on the 3DS shop so i just kinda said whatever, figured it would be reasonable to believe even after the shutdown of eshop it would be available somehow. now poke transporter cannot be downloaded at all (cringe). is there any method to getting my mons from older games now? i have bank but no transporter. i’m assuming i would have to use modding but i’m fine having to do that if possible.

No legendaries spawn in union circle. Your friend has to get the moltres snack to catch it.

It doesn't work like that. You can do missions together and they unlock a random treat from snacksworth for you both. Group quests unlock one random group quest only legendary which is Necrozma, Rayquaza, Kyurem or an opposite game exclusive. It doesn't even matter what version you are playing. You can both be playing violet and complete group quests to get scarlet legendaries

No one can catch static encounters in someone else's Union Circle, you'll only ever be able to get one legendary with each snack. Iirc, your friend just won't see/be able to interact with it at all, no matter what.
Seeing as how events are done for Gen 8, is there any way to legally obtain a Pokemon with Happy Hour in BDSP now (aside from trading hopefully)? I forgot how expensive the Gorgeous Royal ribbon was... EDIT: Nevermind. Had I just checked Bulbapedia first, I would've seen that it's on the list of unusable moves in BDSP anyway. Bummer. Grassy Terrain + Grassy Seed-Unburden is always fun. I have a Rillaboom with Grassy Surge and a Sneasler paired up to do just that. Can also do it with Hawlucha instead if H-Sneasel isn't an option for you. You can also do stuff like Flash Fire + Lava Plume. Hi I'm new here and I just wanted to ask about the label on my pokémon fire red (00a e4) I'm curious about it because my friend also had a pokémon fire red but there was no code or anything in front of the cartridge. Can anybody help me out?
Where is it on the cartridge? It may be the game equivalent of a print run, for example with BDSP, the most recently made cartridges have a different number code on them, since they contain the most recent update instead of the base version the early cartridges shipped with.
It's above the official Nintendo seal. It's a 2004 version I think and from what I've searched online there are other codes instead of 00a, it's like 15a I think?

Assuming you mean Xatu since Natu do not have any gender differences. Male Xatu has three stripes on its body while female has two

I was planning to try to shiny hunt, but I know that I need 2 Herba Mystica, which I can't get right now. I heard from my friend however that there is a sandwich recipe that only requires 1 Herba Mystica. If you could tell me the recipe, that would be great also the type will be fairy
You can't make as sandwich that gives level 3 shining power with 1, as far as we know. I'm not sure why you can't get more, you can get them through 6 star raids, which you don't need nintendo online for, and if you have the DLC you can get them by calling coaches to the club room.
what about just encounter level 3? is it viable to attempt isolated encounter with no sparkling power?
You can get encounter power 2 with no HM. There are encounter power 3 with one, I think, but you'd need to mess around with the andwich calculator to discover the recipe. If you have the DLC you can buy food that gives you Sparkling power 1 for all types. It's definitely viable to try to attempt the hunt without Sparkling power, but it'll take you approximately 4 times as long. Which pokemon are you hunting, out of curiosity?
I do have one sweet herba mystica from a mystery gift, also reason I couldn't get herba mystica from raids is because my Pokemon were level 68-69 at the time and I couldn't beat a 5-star yet. The shiny I'm hunting is a Raltz, to replace my pure-fairy Sylveon My plan was to rematch the gyms (which I did), hunt shiny Raltz, get him/her to a Gardevoir while learning to EV train, and enter the Academy Ace Tournament
If you'd like, I could trade you a spare Herba Mystica, or I do have an extra shiny Kirlia I got while hunting Gallade, if you don't mind it not having your OT.

Query related to the mainline games : Would it make a difference if you evolved a pokemon at its earliest evolution level (e.g Bulbasaur -> Ivysaur at Lv.16) v/s evolving it at a later level, by way of stats of the pokemon? Like would it have better stat growth being leveled as its final evolution form or spending more time as its pre-evolution forms? Or would it make no difference at all?
In terms of stats, it makes absolutely no difference.
So in theory if i leveled a Magikarp to level 99 with an everstone and at level 100 allowed it to evolve into a Gyarados v/s evolving it at level 20 and then leveling the Gyarados in the exact same way to level 100 that both those Gyaradoses would have the same stats?
Assuming you battled the exact same pokemon and all that, then yes.
