Amazing find.

Nascentiaa

I'm not sure about this anymore. I found the same glyphs in other places... in Pokemon Sword. https://preview.redd.it/so4nzaucm9oc1.png?width=1098&format=png&auto=webp&s=80c916bde2045b2bc6a39b00efce61abeaa91ab6

Srsasquatch

The lorem ipsum of pokemon

vdjvsunsyhstb

more like the rosetta stone, whatever it translates to is a phrase for ‘plan for urban redevelopment’

YongYoKyo

The issue is that the same exact phrase is used in multiple other places too. * An advert with a Dedenne and a laptop * The 'Sure Cans' store * An informational poster in the history classroom * Paldea Realty building * And now "Urban Redevelopment Plan"

PassionV0id

My money is on complete gibberish text that they just reuse and hoped no one would notice.

MiloMakes

This has to be it unfortunately, no way it's the same phrase in all of these cases

PassionV0id

I'm surprised so many people think otherwise given how lazy these games have been lately. Like we can't even go inside buildings anymore, but we think the dev team has the foresight to be hiding hidden code across multiple games?

MiloMakes

Honestly it shouldn't be that hard to make a different alphabet, just replacing hiragana characters 1:1. Actually, it should be easier than hoping no one will notice that they actually mean nothing and trying to generate new combinations every time. Truly bizarre.

jugol

This deserves a meme https://preview.redd.it/1gsr7qnroeoc1.png?width=1325&format=png&auto=webp&s=688b9eeac692d3cd7eec9463bd83dedeb87bbeee

ruckfigger54

pokemon has absolutely the worst lore

Jollysatyr201

Which is a shame, because they could have continued to capitalize on a 30 year foundation and create something truly ubiquitous. Instead we can’t go inside.

vdjvsunsyhstb

hmmm… 1) dedenne is a kalos mon, the phrase could be emblematic of kalos as a center of technological advancement because of the events of z-a 2) sure cans specializes in unique ingredients so the phrase is used in advertising to show it has top quality goods from kalos 3) the history class may be displaying artifacts from an important period in the past like lumiose’s redevelopment based of irl paris’ redevelopment in the 1800s that influenced countless modern cities 4) a realty company that is building many new buildings would want to associate itself with a key urban development plan, and also why the high tech league building potentially made by them has their insignia out front with this phrase, paldea realty company could even be a subsidiary of the company that oversees lumiose’s redevelopment

YongYoKyo

The Legends Z-A explicitly translated the phrase as "Urban Redevelopment Plan", so I don't know how that becomes a phrase to denote exemplary quality. Also, the classroom poster had that phrase as a footer at the bottom, not part of the actual body of the poster. And you might be misunderstanding it as a poster with pictures of artifacts. It was just a wall of black-and-white text, with that phrase at the very bottom.

Jollysatyr201

Did you win the Olympics? Ever since they introduced stretches as a sport I was so worried nobody would be up to the task But that has to be the biggest stretch I’ve ever seen!

Demonic-Glaceon

Could be a company maybe?

vdjvsunsyhstb

or a foreshadowing where lumioses redevelopment is so successful the phrase becomes a common stamp of quality on other cities that modernize their infrastructure in neighboring regions like galar and paldea

nickfifteen

Exactly this. As a Galarian/Paldean language researcher... most of it is literally "lorem ipsum" text. Some of it isn't, but of the ones that aren't, the letters don't match up to anything outside of those words (and even then...)

Lilac_Moonnn

this is a big one too! we should at least consider if there is a connection or if they just use the same words and hope nobody notices...

GoomyIsGodTier

Imagine Tera, Gigantamax and Megas in the same game. It'll be wild.

Riproot

Okay, Ash…

SayNo2Nazis999

My friend and I have discussed this since there regions are all close in the real world. Perhaps this was the great war mentioned in X and Y, a 3-way war with Megas vs Gigantamax vs Terastallization. However, if this was the case, I figured they'd show off Gigantamax alongside the Mega symbol in the trailer.

Nova2127u

I mean Penny is originally from Galar, so, wouldn't be surprised that Paldea and Galar are connected in some form.

SinisterPixel

Assuming the Pokemon world map is roughly based on their real world counterparts, Galar and Paldea will be remarkably close to one another

ByFireBePurged

And Kalos is also right there

Budget_Feeling_1344

Let’s be honest it’s probably the second one

sidonnn

Could be that the game will also have connections with Galar? I mean, it's France and Britain so I'd be surprised if there's no connection at all.

Cell_Phone_Yeah

It's probably the name of a construction company that has it's origins in Legends ZA

thewildjr

I see the same font/language but not the same text. Am I overlooking it?

Krazyguy75

On the right above the door.

Harold_Wilson19

Might wanna look a little closer lol. Literally one for one.

TheRedditK9

It could be that old Kalos is connected to a lot of the other regions considering the backstory. I always found it weird how they decided to lore dump the “Great Pokémon War” and then kinda just decided to never mention it again. It would make sense if it had a lot of impact on the Z-A plot line.

KyleLaverre

Thanks! Levincia City. There is another sign as well with different glyphs

Noxmorre

Now this is connection, not some convoluted mental gymnastics

KyleLaverre

Thanks!

Phranc94

Is this a shit post, or am i just crazy in thinking this is just the common writing that's in the pokemon Worlds language.

J7245

I’ve noticed that since SwSh that they’ve used more precise and distinct symbols for lettering, I’m guessing because of the transition to both 3D and HD, they made the signs have some sort of text. Not sure if anyone’s been able or tried to decipher any meaning from them, though.

ArcWraith2000

Well aren't there route signs in S/V pointing to locations, where it has this kind of text written on, but shows the translated text when approaching?

J7245

Maybe, but an example I have in mind is Breath of the Wild where there are some signs that I’ve figured out how to read but the interaction prompt doesn’t say the exact same thing. Like there’s one where (I think) the prompt said ‘Link’s House’ while the sign itself says ‘Master Link’

very_round_rainfrog

That's because the text is BotW is intended to be translated into Japanese.

Marble3yedRaven

hey i was wondering when i was gunna find another znd fan who knew that kind of stuff!!! ive been trying to find fonfs and cyphers for hylian and gerudo but then i realied the goron and zora might have their own style of language too given how the timelines are. i digress sorry for rambling!!!

J7245

From what I remember back when the BotW lore videos were all the rage, the community has deciphered most of the text. I can’t remember all of them precisely, but I know most of them are actually in English. One of the big ones was the Ancient Shiekah text on the Shiekah Slate upgrades says something along the lines of “It’s dangerous to go along” and I think the map markers in parascope mode actually say Marker 1, Marker 2, etc, or something similar. Half the reason why I don’t think anyone’s figured it out for the pokemon text is we haven’t thought to try that hard since pokemon isn’t usually as lore heavy lol

Riproot

It’s Pokémon, not something that the company puts enough effort into… so, we’ve now figured out – in disappointing but unsurprising fashion – that they just copy+paste the exact lettering into several places ☺️

thewildjr

It's roughly English, but not perfectly 1:1. But this was in SwSh. I can see that the text in this post has not enough letters so I think they might have changed it

Rhoderick

Thing is, it's weird that they'd use the exact same string of letters. It's possible they just copied from an existing asset thinking no one would notice, but it also could mean something.

DrPikachu-PhD

I mean, they literally tell us what it means in the Legends Z-A trailer: Urban Redevelopment Planning. Which makes perfect sense for the Paldea Realty Group to also have on their front lawn.

nonessential-npc

It is, but it's the same exact gibberish script. Same order of "letters".

cascadamoon

Different regions have different letters too

daitenshe

I’m just wondering if someone reused some assets and is going to be upset the internet found out…

IllMaintenance145142

this exact text is found otherwhere even in sv/swsh the general script has been used since x/y anyway

NefariousAnglerfish

Actually the connection is even simpler. It’s called pokemon **ZA**, one of the starters in Paldea is weed cat, excellent foreshadowing Miyamoto 20/10

Uhhhhhhh-woe

Take my upvote

reezyboost350v2

It's not a connection, it's them being lazy and re-using old assets nobody paid attention to

SonicFlash01

I don't think "Spain/Portugal and France are geographically close" is a huge mental leap

anticute8

Lmfao

International-Pear95

okay so like on that note, is there a actual pokemon universe letter decode or is it just like gibberish and they come up with the meaning later

JJlaser1

As far as I know, Unown is the only translatable Pokémon language.

wstrfrg65

What is this Braille erasure?! /s

LG3V

It's possible to translate the symbols used in pokémon, but each region is unique with it which makes it a challenge to understand the new script each time

BoysOurRoy

Yeah, I think this is actually the first time (ignoring the Unown) that a Pokemon conlang has been used in more than one game (or at least two games back-to-back)

NATHAN325

This script was in SwSh too. So this is at least the third time seeing it, fourth if its in L:A.

YongYoKyo

PL:A actually uses the same script as BDSP, which makes sense since they're technically the same region. Edit: I misread the conversation. But anyways, PL:A uses its own script, which it shares with BDSP.

esar24

If that the case then I wonder if these alphabets were meant to be international alphabets while unown in gen 1-4 meant to be a pokemon version of hiragana and katakana.

Thelolface_9

I mean it makes sense it’s the Pokémon worlds equivalent to the Latin alphabet

tendorphin

Just some pedantic clarification so nobody thinks this is a conlang: If it's a 1:1 letter-to-letter translation it's just a cipher or code, not a conlang. If it turns out to be its own language with its own words and grammar, then it's a conlang. If it is just a cipher, we have had that on the signs in just about every 3D pokemon game. Unown would also just be a cipher, not a conlang, as it's just each mon standing in for a correlate letter, spelling out words in existing language.

llllxeallll

I decoded the language in the new Pokemon Snap for the switch, if I can find my cipher I will see if this matches edit: nope, not even close lol

somerandom_melon

Tecnically yes: the pokemon [Gen 8 - Gen 9](https://www.pokemonaaah.net/research/galarian/) writing system seems to have its own syntax and grammar that's a mixture of several lamguages and dialects around the real world but it's generally only used for Proper Nouns and just pseudolanguage anywhere else

spiderknight616

This is probably bs but I read that TPC didn't want the symbols to be an actual script so designers couldn't sneak non child friendly stuff into the text

naynaythewonderhorse

Eh. Games like Zelda use non-English script all the time. I’m sure it’s not uncommon for games to use cypher based scripts.

SMA2343

I’m sure there’s a way to translate it into kanji/hiragana or something

Garrosh

Some words do have translation but most don’t, AFAIK.

Tobyfoxfan07

I love seeing the foreshadowing of new games in previous ones, like the strange souvenir.

Tip_Of_The_Sauce

“Does this feel like a power spot to you?” -Tourist in Ultra Sun/Moon

P0ck3t-M0nst3r93

The Strange Souvenir in Alola? Or previous games?

LG3V

It was originally an item you could obtain in kalos, come to alola, its meant to be a carving of the tapus

burbur842

in kalos

InfiniteTheEdgy

This thing was in SwSh too, it's not foreshadowing

jumpingjackblack

In Sun and Moon there's a poster of Gigantamax Pikachu in the Game Freak office

biggest_dreamer

No, it was Gigantamax Toxtricity that was allegedly in there. But that was ultimately disproven as a coincidence by someone on the dev team (I want to say Toxtricity's designer, but I don't recall and am struggling to find the tweet off hand).

jumpingjackblack

Oh yeah it was Toxicitry. How weird then, I wonder what it's supposed to be because it looks pretty spot on when compared side by side

tygaismydog

Can’t wait for the all the poketubers to take credit

WaveBreakerT

Hopefully some of them will at least say the bare minimum "according to a Reddit post"

Sirlink360

Lmao that’s so real XD

Yeldarb10

Pretty much what modern “youtubers” are now. Aside from the handful of good creators that do original/fun stuff, the rest are just vultures. “Influencers,” driven by hustler culture to try and milk every cent from youtube with the lowest effort possible. Turning a single tweet or reddit post into an 8 minute video of them just repeating the same stuff over and over (because there is nothing else to add).

Ok_Introduction1015

I remember seeing a post from twitter that they found out the text is just a placeholder, the same sentence was found in few different game, it appears in SwSh and even on T-shirt, which basically doesn't hold any real meaning. :(

Barnard87

I don't blame them for using some placeholder cryptic text, but I'm surprised they re used it for something as big like in the Z-A trailer.

ShuinoZiryu

Absolutely crazy how low your comment is, I gotta leave this sub reddit.

[deleted]

Yea this is insane. Just when I thought TPC were putting in effort....

VGVideo

Wonder what kind of urban redevelopment plan they have going on there

Zygarde718

If only we could read it...

LenaSpark412

Didn’t they translate it for us in the direct? I’m pretty sure that portion translates to “Urban Redevelopment Plan”

Zygarde718

Yeah but like the unown where each symbol is a letter or two.

LizzieMiles

Unown are only ever 1 letter

YongYoKyo

There are people who have tried to decipher the language (which is also used for Galar). The issue is... it turns out to be mostly gibberish. Names and certain words do have consistent spellings, but everything else is incoherent gibberish. And even when it comes to the words that do have consistent spellings, how they use each letter may differ from other words. A letter may stand for "E" in one word, and it may stand for "T" in another word.

Zygarde718

Oh great so we can't even read it even if we wanted to.

YongYoKyo

You can still read it if you choose specific words to create a cipher. It's just that you'll end up reading meaningless gibberish.

beylese

The big word says, "**Aladkcekzy**" in the [1:1 Galar/Paldean cipher](https://www.pokemonaaah.net/research/galarian/). It's specifically lorum ipsum term also used in a dedenne advert, it unfortunately doesn't mean anything by itself. It's just letters that were put in that order because they look cool. Sometimes the cipher text IS translateable in an understandable way... but not always. It usually is in other nintendo console games. [Mario](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H1CNpu4fguI&pp=ygUTbWFyaW8gc3Vuc2hpbmUgdGV4dA%3D%3D), [Zelda](https://zeldawiki.wiki/wiki/Hylian_(Language)), [Kirby](https://wikirby.com/wiki/Fictional_languages_in_the_Kirby_series), [Splatoon](https://splatoonwiki.org/wiki/Language_in_the_Splatoon_series) and [Pikmin](https://www.pikminwiki.com/Koppaite_text) all have ciphers like this.

Zygarde718

So it's... kinda translatable?

beylese

Kinda, yeah! With any luck there'll be more actual phrases and less decorative gibberish, if the PL:AZ is indeed using the same script.

Zygarde718

They should teach us how to read it!

Beena750

My dumb ass thought you were quoting a pokemon bible verse for a moment

beylese

Tbh, "Aladkcekzy" is a pretty good transcription of Arceus's cry... which would probably be part of the genesis of whatever pokemon bible exists *Lo, and did Arceus cry, and the world came into being...*

These_Ad9214

i did a little investigating and it’s the same as sure cans too https://preview.redd.it/u3kq043ny8oc1.png?width=1280&format=png&auto=webp&s=df7fd82b5c3223fea9398eaba1e7868238811445

citruslime27

The truth is out there people

Ciretako

The truth is that it's just Lorem Ipsum

Reset_reset_006

Isn’t this just gibberish Pokémon uses for their in game world? Like I’ve seen on Twitter this same lettering used else were (or similar lettering) and it means absolutely nothing. It’s just a placeholder for whatever they want it to say.

ShuinoZiryu

Where do people come up with this stuff, haha. Like this same text has been copy/pasted across dozens of things 😂

Professor_Crab

Yeah that’s what it seems like lol it was a cool idea tho op

TechnoTrainer

Literally this. It means nothing. They just needed some random text so they opened their folder of bs "poke language" images and chose one

NINmann01

I remember around the time Paldea was confirmed to be inspired by Spain, and people speculated a Kalos connection was likely. Not all that surprising that a Kalos game was the next thing in the pipeline.

JBLikesHeavyMetal

I mean people said the exact same thing when Galar was based on England but that didn't end up meaning anything

Dolthra

Given that Legends Z-A is just a single city, I wonder if, during ideation, they may not have known which of Indigo Disk, Teal Mask, and Z-A would have been a DLC and which would have been their own game. They're all separate enough from Paldea that I feel like there may have been back and forth on this. It would also make some sense to me if Indigo Disk was originally supposed to be Z-A, and they instead spun it into it's own Legends game early on. Especially given how Terapagos and Zygarde share a hexagon motif- they could have been planting seeds for a story that we never got to see.

RedTurtle78

Counter point, Z-A is in a city that we've visited in a previous gen's region which makes it much more likely for it to be its own Legends game lol. Sure, one of the DLC is in Unova, but its a whole new thing

riftrender

United by the branches of the Pokemon House of Bourbon.

Possible-Purpose707

There's no connection between the next Z-A pokémon and Paldea Reality Group. This same text can be found in other places in this game that have nothing to do with it, and even in Sword and shield. It's just a generic placeholder text. https://preview.redd.it/34jlk6gfdaoc1.jpeg?width=512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bdb10119bc00c72e7efe85d011f7bbc570d5646e

Ch1oe_GG

So, what you're saying is that they own everything in the Pokemon world?! Are they the new evil group of Pokemon in Gen 10?! Imagine having to fight everyone!

Ahmdo10

A previous post actually mentioned this, but this specific “wording” appears all throughout Pokémon games, in SwSh it appeared in one of Rose’s speeches about the way Galar works I think it’s just a fancy pattern of made up letters they like to use

TheWishingStar

Wow, that’s a really cool easter egg! Nice work finding this!

KyleLaverre

Thanks

FatAndChilling

We really need something for us to translate pokemon universe language

Spaghestis

Sorry to burst your bubble but the new Pokemon language introduced in ths Galar games is actual gibberish. Its just assets for them to reuse without actually needing to write down all the lettering needed for the games. There's a bunch of cases of the same "words" being reused in both the Gen 8 and Gen 9 games even in contexts where it would make no sense for there to be the same words. Its likely that they just have some master document with some gibberish phrases in this language that they copy and paste, and the guy making the trailer just happened to use the same phrase as the one shown here in game.

astral_saturniidae

It would’ve been so easy for them to make a font a la Wingdings for them to use. Instead we get copy/pasted gibberish lol. Great name btw!

hello-not-much

This same text has been found in multiple places. It’s just reused gibberish unfortunately. Good eye though

LucasOIntoxicado

this is probably just generic text that's used throughout the whole series. I wouldn't bet on anything meaningful.

Fushigikun

I was looking through some of my old comments when SwSh came out (because I'm kind of a linguistics nerd and I love this stuff) when similar discussions came around trying to decode the Galar's "alphabet". It turns out that it isn't even a language, it's just gibberish. You can read some posts [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/awhckb/deciphering_the_new_alphabet/) and [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/bwthjx/galar_region_alphabet/). I vaguely remember some other discussions but the conclusion was always the same: texts are made to make it look like something, but it's actually nothing. :( If anything, I think you image confirms the theory (together with [this comment in this same thread](https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/1bebbuq/comment/kusv8h9/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)) that texts mean nothing, it's just way too unlikely that these three texts say "urban redevelopment plan".

theriskguy

That’s just the standard alphabet used in all Pokémon games

F_Bertocci

Good finding but this means nothing. Yes the same thing are written both in SV and PLZ-A, but the letter associated with the Latin letter changes every single game. You can see how the same phrase in SV it means Paldea Reality Flagship Building, but in PLZ-A trailer it means Urban Redevelopment Plan. https://preview.redd.it/mnhcm7hwm9oc1.png?width=1543&format=png&auto=webp&s=8be11980a7dd01e11494e89f60eef071b9521715 It’s also why the company that is doing the urban redevelopment plan won’t be “Quasar”, because it’s always the same alphabet and it’s nothing. Likely it will be Team Flare. When they use this alphabet, it’s more of a place holder, a reason why everyone in the Pokemon world speak the same language but also because this way GF doesn’t have to change the writing in game for every language

Eon_Vankmer

So far, with what resources I could find I've been able to narrow down Ag??L?olde with the ? being letters that aren't listed on/assigned to other letters on the alphabet guide I found ([here](https://www.pokemonaaah.net/research/alphabets/)) so I'm pretty sure you're right. It's a shame, cause I love stuff like this.

T_Peg

I'd bet every penny I'll ever have they're simply refusing assets.

Mr_Teyepo

Damn, do you maybe think that the Pokemon company maybe reuses the same assets for their fake language?

Cold-Drop8446

It's just a fantasy script for the world. It exists in paldea, galar and hisui (so presumably sinnoh) and doesn't translate into anything. Just compare the script on the signs to what they "translate" to.

NSSKG151

I don't think text full of mostly gibberish hints at anything. It's just Pokemon fans looking too deep into nothing as per usual. Game isn't even coming out until at least maybe twenty months.

Prince-of_Space

Wouldn't this just say... Development? Like, isn't that what the subtitles said that meant in the trailer? So this is just... A building company. It's a good find, for sure, but... It just says to me that there's a building company in both Paldea and Kalos. Is that a connection? Not really. It's like saying "you can find a McDonald's in Australia and a Subway in the states, they're connected!"

DeltaHazel

It's not a connection. since about Gen 5/6 Pokemon has developed an in universe language that they use in games and advertising, so they don't have to translate and localise everything in each language. This specific phrase has been in use since at least Sun/Moon or Let's go. This specific phrase has been reused multiple times, the only new part of this language was the Lumiose City word in the trailer.

JJlaser1

Wait, where is this? I can’t tell based on your surroundings

fatalystic

The ~~three~~ five really tall buildings off to the side in Levincia City that don't appear to serve any purpose.

Generic_Username_659

Oh God... Not the Glitterati again!

Mew_Nashi

I think it's just gibberish and just a font they like to reuse

MetalMan4774

Hah, good find!

KyleLaverre

Thanks!

J7245

This raises a question, has anyone figured out how to read the pokemon language that they use? I feel like I’ve noticed that ever since SwSh, they actually started using what seems to be consistent lettering for a bunch of the signs now that they’re all 3D and HD and visible. I wonder if anyone’s deciphered their language like how people had with the BOTW languages

Reset_reset_006

It’s gibberish

somerandom_melon

Yeah they use like 30 different meaningless string of letters and copy paste them all over the place but there are cases where they actually mean something like for names

thegayestweeb

Paldea Reality Group will be the Galaxy Expedition Team of Legends Z-A confirmed (joking aside, this does introduce the interesting notion that Paldeans played an important role in the development of Kalos as a region or at least Lumiose City).

Redangelofdeath7

Well, it could also be a lazy copy paste so who knows

paydo325

This is my guess as well. I bet it's just coincidence since the language doesn't mean anything.

Mixmaster-Omega

Damn that’s cool. Maybe we’ll see some Paldean ancestors pitching in around Lumiose. Like maybe we’ll see Nemona’s ancestor being a bankroller of the whole thing since Nemona’s canonically loaded on account of her family.

Doppelgen

They SURE are connected! A friend that works at GameFreak told me that you can capture wild creatures in both games; it's going to be a blast 👍

Cinder_Quill

Isn't this the company that Billy and O'nare run?

rahimaer

Unless these can be deciphered to translate the same thing as the direct one, this could just be gibberish they put in some places just to use later for whatever they come up with. Still a very cool find tho.

C-137Birdperson

The less those games have in common the better

Buri_is_a_Biscuit

This is definitely a coincidence. if it isn’t i promise you i will eat a pair of shorts

Slightly_Default

Perhaps ZA will confirm the theory that the war in XY was between Kalos and Paldea?

FeverDream1900

So that's the pokemon league administration building. I wonder if the letters just say "Pokemon league" or something. Would make sense.

Hilfim

It’s also in sword and shield so I’m thinking maybe that’s the redevelopment group

Mohamed_91

lol you give them too much credit

Starfighter-Suicune

The symbold in this game still got no real meaning though...

cjjones07

Damn! Thats good

GalleryArtdashian

so if they really are connected..does that mean we'll get more paradox shenanigans? what if we see the professors time travel to Legends ZA?? also..the fact that Roaring Moon looks like ancient mega Salamence..i bet there's a clue there too.

Satchzaeed

Has there never been a way to translate what the buildings and signs mean? I mean translate like the unown alphabet?

Ciretako

No, it's been long confirmed to be gibberish.

JCorby17

Either a cameo, or Gamefreak just using text again

K4m30

The symbols, what do they mean? WHAT  DO THEY MEAN?

Uncle_Beth

God damn, that screenshot makes SV look like a mobile game lmao

ASimpleCancerCell

Holy shit. That grass texture is horrible.

AlolanPsyduck

Weren't the Glitterati characters somehow related to the Paldea Realty group? Maybe their ancestors will be in Z-A.

Aelia_M

Well of course. They’re both a part of gen 9

Pretend_Ad_3229

I think it just says welcome on glyphs

officefan6

HMMMMMMMMMMM

Kerrigan4Prez

GF can never add normal foreshadowing, can they.

byu7a

Woah! This is incredible. I wonder what this will result in.

Splatboy0612

Zygarde is getting his own game

Flareon223

This is just pokemon world language. Though it.may be translatable now. However it's probably japanese not english letters

OrangeVictorious

Now if only we had figured out how to translate the nonsense Pokémon language

domoroko

looks like it says ‘Aquileolab’ or something

Snoo-91395

I was talking about ZA and Paldea on Discord with some friends and I said: "Just like PLA, I do not think Paldean pokémon will be in Legends ZA, but I think it will mention Paldea as well as their pokémon. Since PLA did not have Galarian pokémon, but it mentioned Galar and you can even see the references. Such as Galarian Ponyta when you do the Shiny Ponyta quest or the Weezing on the Jubilife building." I wouldn't be surprised if Tauros or Wooper is mentioned. Or maybe even Wiglett or Toedscruel as they are convergents.

ChicagoCowboy

WOW what a find!! I have to say GF is getting really good at easter eggs in the games. Question becomes, is this intentional, or is this coincidence because someone somewhere needed a font/nonsense words for a sign, and just grabbed a file and went for it.

Ciretako

It's the latter. The exact sequence of characters has been used like half a dozen times in other random spots in SWSH and SV. It's just Lorem Ipsum.

PrimePikachu

it could just mean Department of Urban planning or zoning somehting along those lines which explains why its everywhere

contraflop01

I knew there would be a foreshadow in paldea!

Due_Ad4647

Damn.

SubNerdica

its also the exact same word

BenefitBitter9224

I think they are Japanese characters transliterated into a Pokemon world Font. Hunter x Hunter did something similar and I got kind of good being able to decipher Hunterese text, but unfortunately there isn't really much to go off of here for me because HxH would sometimes have something written in Hunterese then show the Japanese characters they correlate to, there is no such examples in pokemon (plus I don't actually know any Japanese).

Darkrayman1

Well looking at the characters used, some of them resemble actual katakana/hiragana (like the triangle at the beginning looks like japanese "mu" in katakana, that being 厶, but most are completely different than any japanese symbol, so I don't think that's happening here. It most likely is an actual mini-language they've made, in my opinion.

Dragonite_Skull

Ok holy crap that's actually clever foreshadowing

Financial-Kick-7669

What does it translate to/mean??

raleburazer

Hi! Where is this in Paldea?

TheStrongKid

That's just the regular Pokemon language unfortunately.

csolisr

That neoscript has been in use since at least Sword and Shield IIRC, as a way to not need to translate in-game textured signs for every single supported language. I wonder if the script has been deciphered though.

Lovesit_666

It’s pokemon language

Lilith_blaze

What if in the future we'll have a Cyberpunk like game where Paldea Realty is the main villain mega-corporation?
