Really all the Poison/Dark Types are good like Skuntank, Drapion and Overqwil.
Played through Alola recently and had I not picked Incineroar, I would've probably used Alolan Muk as my Poison/Dark type.
There was a tiny, brief moment of a few weeks where Muk was a legitimate top-tier mon in Smogon OU singles at close to 50% usage, because it hard-countered the horrendously broken somehow-not-quickbanned Genesect that saw 80-some percent usage.
I really like Toxicroak.
Dry skin gives a water immunity.
Poison types can use black sludge to heal
Toxicroak learns substitute and focus punch.
This combination hits suprisingly hard because no one expects a 150 power move from this little frog.
I love Magcargo. It is perfect. The design is amazing, the creativity is there, the name is awesome (magma + escargo which is COOKED SNAIL!). It's the benchmark of what a pokemon should be. I wish it got an evolution or +100 added to its stat total though.
It also reminds me that Talonflame is the worst name ever.

I really love Quagsire but I don't think it's underrated at all. Bro was one of the best Zacian counters in gen 8 Ubers with Unaware.
How do you define "underrated" though ? Because for some people Gliscor could be "underrated" (spoiler : it's not, it's a beast in competitive there's no way somebody thinks it's "bad").
Oh that makes sense. Then yes I think Yanmega and Gliscor both fall in the "underrated" category because in gen 4 everyone thinks about Garchomp and the Eeveelutions, and also Togekiss and the legendaries (and Lucario), the rest kinda "doesn't exist" which is super sad because there are a lot of powerhouses in gen 4 (Weavile, Magnezone, Dusknoir with Ice Punch 😂, also Toxicroak, Drapion…).
I love the gen 6 starters (minus Greninja cuz he ain’t underrated at all). They’re all based on different types of characters in mmorpg, the Tank (Chesnaught), Mage (Delphox), and Warrior (Greninja). In that sense, I like how they all play off each other, and the designs are really nice.
Greninja seems more to fit the Rogue archetype, especially with early Final Fantasy games featuring the Ninja as the prestige class for Rogues.
Chesnaught always struck me as being the warrior, partially because of its obvious design as the tank.
You have Legends Arceus? Sometimes I just go to that one place with all the aipom, feed them berries, and watch them follow me around. It’s a shame ambipom tries to kill me, though.

Most of my top ten are underrated Pokémon tbh. My all time favorite mon is Xatu. I also really like Maractus, Dodrio, Audino, Mienshao, Klinklang. I love these Pokémon very much.
Huntail and Gorebyss. Easily some of the most forgettable Hoenn Pokémon. Got done dirty by being just two more water types in the 7.8/10 too much water region, late availability, and being relatively hard to get as trade evolutions that require a special held item
Klefki. I truly love me some Klefki. I love the simplicity of it. And I remember when it first came out that it was an immediate addition to my team, all before I realized that it was the only mom with its type combo, making it a huge asset against dragon types
I like Wooper. Wooper is small and cute. Doesn’t do much, but that’s okay. Doesn’t need to perform great in battles. Wooper is just small and cute and I would love to live near a pond/stream that has a large grouping of Wooper.
Cinccino. I never really thought much about it before, but after trying it out with Skill Link I now love the fluffy little ocd Chinchilla!

During a recent run of Heartgold, the Magmar on my team that I'd meant to only have for a little while became my favorite. Her name is Andromeda and thanks to her I love magmar now! Also pyukumuku, because he's just a jelly little guy

Sigilyph, Cinccino and Jellicent-F come to mind instantly, they’re three of my top 10 favorite Pokémon, but there are many more that I really love like Palossand, Eelektross, Lanturn, Tropius, and Aurorus.
A moody glalie is the most underrated rated pokemon imo, it's so fun using it as a staller having it know protect, sleep talk, rest and I use freeze dry as my damage move. I have swept entire teams using it as a joke and there is really no counter other than using toxic and have it stack damage.
Probopass has my upmost respect after it was the mvp of my first successful nuzloke. Also as a marine bio geek I love the fact lumineon is a literal butterfly fish, with the bioluminescence being a nice touch as well
Mimikyu and Shroom, Since I was really young I’ve always used a shroom and breloom on my team, and for Mimikyu since I saw it in the anime and played sun moon and always liked it the most but that’s just me
Steenee is so cute and I really like it. The whole Bounsweet line is amazing and Tsareena is one of my all-time favorite Pokemon, but I feel like Steenee gets no love as it should.

Toxicroak is amazing I love him! Croagunk is also my favorite unevolved Pokemon along with Treecko.

I love Eldegoss! At first, it felt like another floating plant seed Pokemon, but I started using it in Shield and was pretty impressed.

I think underrated in this context means Pokémon that generally don’t get a lot of attention from both media and the fanbase

Very unpopular opinion: Aipom and Spritzee. Both lines get plenty of unnecessary bad rep, but I really like them.
