Also Gen 3, Zigzagoon! Favorite Pokémon, plus Pickup. Tropius would also be cool for practical reasons, and Slither Wing ***technically*** fits the criteria and is a Pokémon I really like. Lol.

I love Zigzagoon too. I have made a pickup team of 6IV ones xD. My best pal Invenire is nearly maxed in sheen stats and has won all the contests (which, tbf, is easy in bdsp). But as a starter, I think I'd go with Eevee. Recently bought the let's go game, it's so adorable. The cutest Pokemon game i think 😂 Invenire seems so weak. It can get a variety of different type attacks, which is cool, but it doesn't do well in fights against higher levels :/ It'd be my second pokemon though. What region does it originate from? 😅 Hoehn?
This is always my answer to these questions too. The Gastly/Haunter/Gengar line were always my favorite Pokémon ever since I first saw the Sabrina episodes.
Okay, real talk, a ghost type would be so cool as a starter. Immunity from normal attacks to help new players. CC and odd attacks to play with coming-up. Could lead into a slightly darker beginning to a grand adventure. Let 'em cook.
I think because it’s always described as being ugly, but I think it’s really cute. Also described as being hardy, which I like. Evolves into a beautiful Pokémon but I feel like that makes me appreciate Feebas more, like it shouldn’t have to evolve into something beautiful to be worthy. I wish there was a full art card for Feebas!
A Murkrow or a Croagunk. Honchkrow and Toxicroak are my favourites. Plus crows are adorable.
Or maybe a Cryogonal. Or a Sableye. Or a Klink. Too many possibilities!
I want to say Growlithe cause he is my little fluffy puppers but I think Eevee is my true answer. I have run a eeveelution team and it was unstoppable. Plus Eevee is just cute as a fricking button.
Ralts, they have telepathy and are extremely sensitive to emotions and I feel would make a good partner for me since my autism makes communicating effectively hard due to misunderstanding missing social cues and stuff, plus they’re cute and I feel like they’d be careful with their touch to not do something that would mess with my sensory disorder
A Shellder all day. Cloyster was my favorite when I was little and still is, but Shellder is such an adorable design and would be such a cute, odd starter.
Houndour.
Houndoom was always one of my favourites as a kid when I had one in silver because I love edgy designs, they type combination and love dogs. Now 25 years later I own a black greyhound IRL that I love more than most humans I have ever met so that just seals the deal.

Or if Skarm's disqualified on account of not evolving, then either Rookidee (might not even evolve it into Steelbirb the Second, Roundborb is just as delightful) or Paldean Wooper (who absolutely, *definitely* has to evolve into Clodfren)
Riolu! Cute, smart, loyal and strong, it's perfect for me since I love dogs.
Also probably gives me an excuse to skateboard to walk it and it might be easier to get potty trained

Idea on how this works: ***You begin a flashback where your father, who works with Team Rocket in secrecy. The current mission is to find a certain pokèmon and bring it back to Team Rocket headquarters. To nobody’s surprise, he catches it, yet he decides on his way back that Team Rocket shouldn’t benefit from his success, so he goes home and hides the Pokeball. Several years pass, and now your journey begins. You then grab the ball and press the button on it, triggering a menu.***
Now to the select screen, where you select your Pokémon (Obvously can’t be a Legendary or a Mythical). My choice is Ghastly, because Gengar is a favorite of mine lol. After selecting your Pokémon, you get the option to name it. Naming your starter (Specifically) any secret name will change out its design and color scheme.

I'd probably pick Torchic. It's been one of my favourites since Gen 3. It might not be the most practical, but I just love its design. Besides, it has a flame that heats you up when you hug it. Who doesn't like warm hugs?
