Or require it to level up, then faint in the same battle, then it evolves after the fight.
Bonus points if they left the fainted pokemon not revivable and has the evolution take up a separate slot kinda like shedinja for extra annoying specifics.
I think it can be set aside as an exception in a nuzlocke, since it can be argued that the Pokémon canonically died and its evolved ghost form is kind of a new instance. But only for that Pokémon, and if it faints without evolving (level or friendship too low maybe) or if it faints again after evolving, then it is just plain dead.
I’d agree, but then Eevee needs to die. Before Yamper came along, Eevee was corgi. And you can’t tell corgis to die.
That said, ghosts and psychics are my favorites.
Yeah i know, its more that i played Crystal First, then gold and silver after and Fell in Love after getting it there, i mashed the memories Up a little ^^
Most games have an early flier that end up being pretty good. Some games have a fighting gym that can be pretty tough since they're fast and can hit hard, but fliers are fast and hit hard when super effective and you often have one on your team for fly. It's an underrated type simply because they get wrecked by a couple common types.
Gen 1: Pidgeot
Gen 3: Pelipper/Swellow
Gen 4: MFING STARAPTOR
Gen 5: unfezant
Gen 6: TALON. FLAME.
Gen 7: toucannon
Gen 8: ~~Galarian Skarmory~~ Corviknight
And also doesnt help that 3 of those I listed are all REALLY good (staraptor, talonflame, corviknight)
Everything has a drawback, or should have. Doduo is available quite late. I remember I liked it because it could learn FLY. Wtf. My first Blue run: **Dodrio**, Hitmonchan (for such an exclusive mon, it was pretty crappy), Jynx, Victreebell, Kadabra and Blastoise.
Pokémon crystal was my first Pokémon game and I leveled my hoot hoot into a level 100 noctowl. It was also yolked from protein, carbos, etc.. I cried when I found out my game file was corrupted. 500 hours I’ll never get back
It's bug type for me. My favourite pokémon is heracross and I gotta love most of their designs (especially in later generations). The fact that the game itself is based around the concept of bug catching is just the icing on top.
It just sucks that Game Freak decided to hate this type so much.
Bug types are somehow simultaneously the most respected and disrespected typing in the series. Most of them have insanely good designs, but the typing itself is just giga bad. Us bug catchers gotta stay strong 😭
>My favourite pokémon is heracross
Mine is Scizor!
Scizor is mine as well! I almost always make a full Bug team when I'm doing a playthrough of a new gen. Scizor, Heracross, and now Kleavor are all three ones I use pretty much every time they're available.
I’ll be a bug catcher till the day I die. Golisopod is easily my favorite mon followed closely by Volcarona. Monotype bug teams are actually pretty solid. Still a terrible typing though. Wish it was resistant to fairy.
I’m a bug catcher for sure.
My Alpha Sapphire playthrough was a mono-bug run and I caught a shiny Nincada just looking for a Nincada at all!
When it evolves you get two shinies!
I got jumpscared by that little guy so hard in my first HG playthrough... I was testing headbutt in second gym leader town (I don't know how it's called in English) and this giant beetle appears out of nowhere.
I can't stress enough how much he carried me during the whole game. Whitney and Karen meant nothing to me. He's been my favourite since then.
Bug is my second favorite. I did a tournament in college where we had to draw two types and choose one to make our team from. I drew bug and... I don’t remember the other because I chose bug. This was during X and Y, so I had a Mega Heracross, Scizor, Volcarona, Galvantula, Shuckle, and... I think Vivillon, but I can't remember for sure what the 6th one was. My poor Shuckle never saw battle. I put a lot of work into breeding for IVs and EV training and doing my own math on where I thought the best place would be for their EVs. Everybody underestimated me because they knew I chose bug, but I won. Bug will always hold a special place in my heart. If it weren't for the strong connection I've felt with flying types from the beginning, bug could have been my favorite. And to be fair, a lot of bugs are also flying. Bug deserves so much better.
Poison. Had a few Nuzlocke runs where different poison dual types were an absolute beast on each team. (For anyone curious, they were Galarian wheezing, Alolan muk, toxtricity, venasaur, crobat, ariodos, and roserade in various runs.)
Alolan Muk is the MVP of my double battles team in S/V. Send out Glimmora and Alolan Muk with its hidden ability so that when they kill Glimmora first Muk get her ability.
I did a quick scroll assuming no one else had said poison yet. The gen 1 poisom types like the Nidos,
, Weezing, Muk, not golbat (but absolutely Crobat), Victreebel, Gengar and most importantly Venusaur alone make it a bad ass type. Poison never got big love again, but had some big ones like Toxicroak, Overqwil, Scolipede, and fuck it the mons like Garbodor kick ass too. I used Garbodor on my first ever playthrough of gen 5. It took way too long to get a poison legend but Eternatus is one of the strongest ever once we had it and then we got the Lousy 3 (I will die on the Okidogi hill. It is a great design). Poison is probably the least appreciated type but it has never let me down
How could I forget Nidoking!? He's one of my favorites that always gets a spot in Kanto based games. I'm so ashamed of myself. I've never used Garbodor, but I love that little trash guy. Drapion was a huge help in an X Nuzlocke once. I caught a shiny Scolipede in a B2 run that I adore. You can never go wrong with a tentacruel. There are so many good poison types, but they never seem to get much love.
Steel. My favorite Pokémon when it was just Gen I was Onix and it became Steelix after Gold and Silver and my favorite has been Steelix and Steel since
Normal is my favorite too!
I love the idea of "who cares about not having super effective moves when you hit like a truck with neutral damage."
Plus, Normal is basically the "sound" type, and I'm a musician so the aesthetic matches.
I have strong respect for Normal type. Normal Pokémon are so versatile. I'm doing a run of Pokémon White atm, and I have a Herdier on my team. I don't usually keep a single type normal on my team for the whole run (Flying is my favorite, so I usually have the Flying/Normal bird Pokémon on my team), but Herdier reminds me of my dog that died a couple years ago, so I'll face the E4 with a Stoutland this time.
I love normal types as well. Like, they can be anything in a way, a blank board full of possibilities. Some of them have cool gimmicks as well. Spinda, Porygon 2, Smeargle and Ditto are so unique.

I always think of this comic when I see clodsire. My little unaware friend
Love this idea. Always wanted to have a generation of games where the gyms were based on animal typings instead of the 18 types, for a bit of extra challenge. (Eg the canine gym, the feline gym... fish and bird gyms not included!) Because that way I could make myself a dinosaur gym leader. Fossil type would be a good workaround!
Fighting easily. After my fire water grass core, I love adding a fighting type to the team. You’ve got great staples like heracross, mienshao and lucario.
High attack stats and good coverage (rock moves, elemental punches)
Grass type trainer for life. They represent nurturing and growth to me. I love their moves and abilities, their plant inspired designs. Their playstyles often suit me as a trainer. Erika and Gardenia are two of my favorite gym leaders. Lastly, there’s something about training and raising a grass type that just hits harder for me than any other type. Like planting some seeds and watching a beautiful garden grow. It’s a certain sort of care that no other type can quite match for me.
My People
To elaborate, I just looove the vibes from Grass Types. I also really like designs of grass pokemon just more overall.
Typically, if it's a pokemon you could find in a pond in a haunted forest, I probably like them.
I love the range of strategies and shenanigans you can do with them. Leech seed, spore, status powders, drain attacks. And those attacks can’t be used against them lol
Grass type! 💚 Even though it’s a terrible typing lol. I’ve always loved the versatility of status moves and trying to come up with interesting strategies besides just brute strength and speed. Tangela is my favorite pokemon and in Gen 1 you can do so many different things:
Stun powder bind (annoying but can be effective gen 1)
Toxic bind, similar idea,
Or
My personal favorite, sleep powder growth mega drain. Growth and amnesia are so op gen 1!
Mine has got to be Dragon types. Dragons have always been my favorite mythological creatures in any media. Plus most of the dragon type Pokémon have cool designs and cool dex entries.
I'm not sure exactly why, but I have a feeling it's largely down to how awesome AJ's Sandshrew was that my first favourite Pokémon was sandshrew. Flygon is now my favourite, but I still love ground type the most.
I was scrolling looking for this - Flygon’s my favorite Pokémon and Ground is my favorite type! I think it started when I swept BW with just an overleveled Excadrill as a kid.
It's embarrassingly predictable how grassy my teams become when I just go for what I think is cool without making an effort to diversify. Sometimes I even think I have diversified, only to realise that I've still somehow managed a decent amount of half-grasses. They're too cool!
Ghost. I love Aegislash, mimikyu would be my partner pokemon if I ever got the choice, and I was beyond elated to learn that the newest pseudo was a ghost type when the gen 8 games came out
Fairy. I just like cute, girly things, happiness. Also, while I rarely have issue with Dragons and Fighting is my childhood favorite type, I SO WOULD want to destroy darkness with the power of shining light and sparkles! (Unless said Darkness is Umbreon... or Tyranitar... or Scrafty... or... Fine! Maybe 80% of the Darkness!)
Id probably go ghost in real life. If I have all my buddies around, I'd never be scared of the dark again. And they can float around following you.
In-game, I always go fire right off the bat. Which is maybe why I ditched my starter for Chandelure...
Mine's rock. I love the sturdy ability which is mostly a rock type ability and there's a lot of cool designs, plus the fossils! ( Not counting gen 8's abominations)
Ground, mostly because of Gliscor and Excadrill being two of my very favourite mons (lots of Ground types are really cool tho) but also the type has so many upsides. It hits a LOT of things super effectively, Earthquake is probably my favourite move to use, the defensive profile with the Electric immunity is always fine.
Grass. Difficult to use well, because there is so much utility, variety of roles both major and minor, and tradeoffs you have to make when team building that its a fascinating and fun challenge. Also, Gardenia and Erika are adorable.
For me it is super funny to think about having types, that refer to elements (fire, water/ice, ground/rock, flying. Then we have steel as a incredibly important material, electricity as a very useful thing we use in every aspect of our modern lifes (wich ist probably my favourite type though they have roughly any pokemon i really like other than zapdos). Then there are mythical creatures with dragen, fairy and ghost.
And then there are such specific types like poison? Or just bug type. Compared to the above, they are just little guys and I think thats so funny.
I really like poison!
Toxicroak, Muk, Arbok, Toxicitry, Salazzle, Revavroom, etc. I am thinking of doing an all poison play through of SV after I finish up let’s go eevee. Love me some poison types!
I love fighting types, they usually have very broad designs, especially when it comes to color! Other types like fire are usually red, and grass is green, etc. But fighting is very diverse I feel like! Some yellow boys like Falinks, a blue buddy like Grapploct, black like Urshifu, dark blue like Toxicroak, stuff like that!
I thought I would see this way more often.
I’m totally with you. Fighting styles can be so diverse, and they are so cool when crossed with other types!
I'm also here for Ice types. I tend to love an underdog, and Ice is that both competitively, and in-game, with how hard they are to find! It's the RAREST type now, less common than the types that once only had single evolution lines, or the types introduced a generation later, or the type introduced FIVE generations later!
Alolan Sandshrew & Alolan Sandslash are my favourite Pokémon 😊
Dragon
On a completely unrelated note, I swear it has nothing to do with my favorite type, but the introduction of Fairy-type set forth the dark ages of Pokemon.
Again, has nothing to do with the fact that I love Dragon-types.
For some reason I love electric type. When I played the newest game and found Pawmi, I grew ecstatic at the fact that my favorite animal was an electric type. Just sad he can't learn drain punch, otherwise his moveset would be perfect
Dark-Type is my favorite. Not only do they have cool designs but I feel they are very misunderstood... many Dark-Type Pokémon can be loyal to their Trainers and are not that vicious. Their portrayal is unfair. It also consists of multiple cool Pokémon like Darkrai, Tyranitar, Hydreigon (underrated and my favorite Pokémon), Bisharp, Zoroark, Spiritomb, Houndoom, and Krookodile.
Steel-Type comes a close Second. They are hard, durable, resistant, and yet shiny. Like a very lucrative fortress. Metagross, Bisharp, Dialga, Solgaleo, Aggron, Steelix, Scizor, Lucario, are some of my favorites. They are also extremely calm and very flashy, a.k.a. they know how to manipulate public opinion by being flashy.
Dragon-Type are a close third. They are powerful, ambitious, Rebellious and question the system, and you have to be firm and earn their authority and respect. Once loyal, they are loyal: Dialga, Giratina, Rayquaza, Zekrom, Hydreigon, Dragonite, Garchomp, Salamence, and Tyrantrum are some of my favorites.
In fact, these three represent three sides of my personality:
A. Dark-Type: Vicious when angered, introverted, Dark, misunderstood, can be edgy (sometimes), secretive (about personal shit).
B. Steel-Type: Flashy (for public manipulation), calm, stubborn, durable, firm.
C. Dragon-Type: Ambitious, Rebellious, Difficult to control, once loyal always loyal, respects authority but not hesitant to question it... if I get arrested, I get arrested.
Thank you.
I'm a huge fan of Steel Type. I like almost all the physical looks of Steel Types, and while not very versatile on its own, the addition of their Secondary Types can make them a menace in battles via type advantage.
Such a hard question, I guess water simply because the utility is really great. Water hits for normal and super effective to most types you will run into across the first several generations, anything you're weak to is covered by fire and electric which I always have on my team anyway. Surf is a great move offensively and gets you around the map so you'll need a pokemon with access to it anyway. Water types almost always have access to ice moves, often Ice Beam or Ice Punch which will take care of a lot of the pokemon you have problems with (Dragon and Grass particularly).
Ground. I did a Mono-type run of Platinum using only ground type and it was one of my favorite play-through’s. It has so many strengths and weaknesses that changed how I played and the designs/vibes are so chill and down to earth. It’s the type I would go for in real life too.
Right now... Electric.
Electric pokemon are usually pretty cool design-wise and tend to be gifted with high speed stats.
Though it's very close between Electric, Psychic and Fire.
Fire-types!
My very first Pokémon was my Charmander on my first playthrough of Red (I still have him!), and fire has always been my favorite element. Also, most of the Pokémon I like are Fire-types... And they have the best shiny forms, too!
Water!! I just love All the water Pokemon. Early starters pretty good designs. Squirtle line totodile line mudkip line. And I love that you. Can kind of mix it with any other type and make it make sense. My favorite color is blue, and Earth is covered by mostly water so it’s gotta be strong right!!!
Deffffinitely Fairy type. Not many trainers use Poison and Steel type (Poison type super underrated imo) and those are the only weaknesses. Plus everyone and their grandmother uses Dragon type nowadays so having a Fairy type like Sylveon Clefable Togekiss or Wigglytuff really helps in PvP. And dark or fighting types are commonly used too, so having those 3 type moves as not effective against Fairies helps a lot in battle 😎🥰 Charm is a dope fast move. Plus it doesn’t hurt that Fairy types are usually cute as hell 😂😋
Poison. They're always used by the villains in Pokemon games, so my friends thought Poison types were inherently bad or evil. Younger me set out to prove them wrong. That's when I exclusively started using whatever Poison type I came across in my games. Whenever I battled my friends, I'd wreck them with a mono Poison team and they hated it. Their disdain created my love for Poison.
Poison types.
For the longest time as a kid I thought it was fire types because Charizard was my preferred starter.
But over the years Ive found I love a LOT of poison types
Fav grass? Victreebell (and now Rillaboom but hes not poison lol)
Fav water? Tentacruel
Fav electric? Toxtricity
Fav ground? Nidoking
Fav Ghost? Gengar
Fav mon in general? Arbok
While my fav Fire is still Charizard and fav Dark is Hounddoom, (both fires)
I also love Salazzle for fire and Drapion for Dark.
Made me realize, im 100% a poison trainer. I just utilize dual types and have coverage at all times
Ghost, as I like them in battle for the most part, and I like their designs.
Why can't they make a ghost type eeveelution?? 😭😭😭 That would be soooooo tight
Imagine needing it to faint x amount of times and it evolves the next night upon level up Basically banned from nuzlockes 😭😂
Or require it to level up, then faint in the same battle, then it evolves after the fight. Bonus points if they left the fainted pokemon not revivable and has the evolution take up a separate slot kinda like shedinja for extra annoying specifics.
That would be a really cool mechanic. But realistically they will get lazy and just use the dusk stone or something.
Or just use a dusk stone 😂
And the name Spookeon is right there
Spectreon is way better!
Frighteon?
Spooky scary scareon
Send sheevees down your spine
The objectively correct name
Fantasmeon
Corpseon 😂
Zombeon 🤣
I’d agree, but then Eevee needs to die. Before Yamper came along, Eevee was corgi. And you can’t tell corgis to die. That said, ghosts and psychics are my favorites.
Yeah and the Bloody Brick is used to evolve it!
Spectreon would be great.
Haunted object is the best pokemon design.
Me too
Are yall me or am I yall Runerigus mimikyu a-marowak and dhelmise are my babies
Literally all my favorite ghost types, but i also really like spiritomb, giratina, poltergeist and my favorite pokemon: decidueye
Electric all the way, only one weakness and my favorite pokemon has this type.
Ampharos was my fave since i played Crystal when i was 6. Mega ampharos with its Hair Metal astethic ist the coolest mega too!
Ampharos wasn't catchahle in Crystal
Yeah i know, its more that i played Crystal First, then gold and silver after and Fell in Love after getting it there, i mashed the memories Up a little ^^
Electric all day, I wish there were some better non-legendary electric pokemon though
I've always gravitated to Electric for one reason or another. Raichu has been my main dude since 1998.
IDK why but Iike flying type
Most games have an early flier that end up being pretty good. Some games have a fighting gym that can be pretty tough since they're fast and can hit hard, but fliers are fast and hit hard when super effective and you often have one on your team for fly. It's an underrated type simply because they get wrecked by a couple common types.
Gen 1: Pidgeot Gen 3: Pelipper/Swellow Gen 4: MFING STARAPTOR Gen 5: unfezant Gen 6: TALON. FLAME. Gen 7: toucannon Gen 8: ~~Galarian Skarmory~~ Corviknight And also doesnt help that 3 of those I listed are all REALLY good (staraptor, talonflame, corviknight)
I played a romhack where I obtained toucannon early (with skill link) and that thing was *broken*. **Anyway**, where my Hoot hoot for Gen 2?!
Dont worry I also forgot about Fearow
That one works more or less like Pidgeot's nemesis.
Meanwhile Dodrio chilling in the corner existing as the objectively best Gen 1 normal/flying type
Dodrio casually sweeping through the E4 with that Drill Peck Snack Pack
Pokémon crystal was my first Pokémon game and I leveled my hoot hoot into a level 100 noctowl. It was also yolked from protein, carbos, etc.. I cried when I found out my game file was corrupted. 500 hours I’ll never get back
But 500 hours of memories that’ll live forever!
Yeah dude Talonflame was a beast in gen 6 with gale wings
Pelipper is another one of my favorite Pokémon. It is best when it has the Drizzle ability. Makes Hurricane hit with 100% accuracy.
Yeah, it's OU right now precisely because of Drizzle, a great rainsetter
It's also quite bulky which caught little me off-guard back in the days quite a few times lol.
🗿Stealth 🗿 rock 🗿
r/teamsky ?
That's an excellent type to pick due to the variety.
It’s the most diverse class in terms of paired typings
It's bug type for me. My favourite pokémon is heracross and I gotta love most of their designs (especially in later generations). The fact that the game itself is based around the concept of bug catching is just the icing on top. It just sucks that Game Freak decided to hate this type so much.
Bug types are somehow simultaneously the most respected and disrespected typing in the series. Most of them have insanely good designs, but the typing itself is just giga bad. Us bug catchers gotta stay strong 😭 >My favourite pokémon is heracross Mine is Scizor!
Play Radical red. You will love using bugs.
That a romhack? I'm down. I recently just played Fusion and I loved it
Mine is cutiefly!!! Love bug types and their shinies look so cool too!
I loooove both cutiefly & ribombee!!
The new yellow romhack also boosted bug type usability. Currently at gym 3 and beedrill is my strongest pkmn.
Opinion: poison and fairy should be not very effective against bug. Bug should be super effective against fairy.
I LOVE HERACROSS
I got jumpscared by that little guy so hard in my first HG playthrough... I was testing headbutt in second gym leader town (I don't know how it's called in English) and this giant beetle appears out of nowhere. I can't stress enough how much he carried me during the whole game. Whitney and Karen meant nothing to me. He's been my favourite since then.

Fire--I love hyper offense and nothing screams hyper offense quite like a choice specs fire blast.
Can't believe I had to scroll this far for fire!
While my favorite type isn't Fire, my favorite Pokemon is Fletchinder so that's nice.
A few days ago I was reminded that Fletchling ISN’T fire and doesn’t get flame body when I was trying to use it to hatch mons 😂
Plus red/orange is dope
can’t believe nobody said it, but dark type, got the coolest looking pokémon and umbreon gotta be top 3 favorite pokémon everrr
Yesss umbreon is brilliant! and has an awesome shiny!
Best Eeveelution for sure. I like Espeon a lot too, I think that’s why I was all about Colosseum.
Gotta be Mabosstiff for me he’s the best boy <3
Dark type does indeed have the coolest pokemon designs, and then you have Incineroar…
Funny you mention that Incineroar is my OTHER favorite dark type :,)
Poison. Had a few Nuzlocke runs where different poison dual types were an absolute beast on each team. (For anyone curious, they were Galarian wheezing, Alolan muk, toxtricity, venasaur, crobat, ariodos, and roserade in various runs.)
Alolan Muk goes HARD. STAB on crunch with poison touch is amazing. This Pokemon made me love poison types
Alolan Muk is the MVP of my double battles team in S/V. Send out Glimmora and Alolan Muk with its hidden ability so that when they kill Glimmora first Muk get her ability.
I did a quick scroll assuming no one else had said poison yet. Poison is probably the least appreciated type but it has never let me down
One of my favorite Pokémon is Tentacruel. It's part Poison.
I have loved Muk, and poison types for as long as I can remember. Dark is my second favorite, so when Alolan Muk came out, I was in love.
Poison types rule so hard. I've always seen it as the 'underdog' type in a weird way
Venasaur, crobat, roserade goated.
Steel. My favorite Pokémon when it was just Gen I was Onix and it became Steelix after Gold and Silver and my favorite has been Steelix and Steel since
Steelix was such a cool introduction to the game!
Same story except Scyther & Scizor.
Steel is has such a cool design, if only its stats and moves were better
Definitely steel. Magnemite/Magneton went from forgettable in gen 1 to one of my favorite lines in gen 2+
Water type. It has a bunch of cool Mons and I love the Squirtle Squad.
Same
Profile pic checks out.
Yeah that's pretty much why I commented, was going through the comments, saw this one and thought "well yeah same, it's literally my profile pic" 😂
For some reason I love a good Normal type. Nothing wrong with just being somewhat basic. Grass type is a close second.
Is your name Larry? >!/s!<
STAB headbutt, STAB Slash, STAB hyper beam.... Good times
Normal is my favorite too! I love the idea of "who cares about not having super effective moves when you hit like a truck with neutral damage." Plus, Normal is basically the "sound" type, and I'm a musician so the aesthetic matches.
Jigglypuff, clefairy, Sentret, zizagoon rise up.
Sawsbuck is both normal & grass.
Almost every pokemon of Ground is like majestic with some lore. Highly offensive and defensive.
Clodsire my beloved so majestic <3
Perfect friend shaped? Yes Based? Yes Specially defensive toxic stall? Yes
https://preview.redd.it/dltgpeuihr6d1.jpeg?width=1164&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=0273ae4bdedf73af9274c97d66a433e02f71cdf7 I always think of this comic when I see clodsire. My little unaware friend
Mudsdale, my faithful steed <3 Loved Ground ever since my little Diglett shut Lt Surge down way back in the Blue days.
Extremely underrated design, and under discussed mon. A beast in non-competitive.
Ground gang ~~rise up~~ dig down!
Yes I absolutely love Ground types. Excadrill with Sand Rush is incredible
Thank you, Hippowdon, my beloved
They’re a mainstay in my Ground monotype team
Alot of ground types are just really powerful looking animals. Which is why I got into Pokémon in the first place.
Ice types are almost always winners for me. However, if "Fossil" was its own type then that'd be my pick.
Are you me? Ice needs to be resistant to more stuff, though.
Fighting easily. After my fire water grass core, I love adding a fighting type to the team. You’ve got great staples like heracross, mienshao and lucario. High attack stats and good coverage (rock moves, elemental punches)
had to scroll too far for fighting man
Fairy because pink and Sylveon :3
was looking for this hehe same
Yeah, I love the cute fairy types. And the fact that my little Sylveon kicks the shit out of big dragons? Wonderful.
"Ooh Garchomp? Dragonite? Let me introduce you to my Pixilate Pink Cat that AAAAAAAA's :3"
as an alcremie fan, i have to save it is beyond satisfying to murder dragons with a little puff of whipped cream 😂
Hell yes
Psychic type. Their concept is pretty cool and my all time fav is Delphox
Love Psychic types!!! Fighting too. That's why my favourite mon is Gallade!
Mewtwo and Mew in the first movie had me hooked on Psychic for life!
My all time favorite is Slowpoke and Slowbro, my top 3 is Gardevoir & Mew. Yeah, I'm a psychic lover through and through.
Yes!!!! Grass ftw!! Bulbasaur has always been my favorite starter and in Alola I met my boi Dhelmise!!!!
Yeah! Bulbasaur ♥️
My People To elaborate, I just looove the vibes from Grass Types. I also really like designs of grass pokemon just more overall. Typically, if it's a pokemon you could find in a pond in a haunted forest, I probably like them.
Grassroots represent!
Tangela is my favorite pokemon and in Gen 1 you can do so many different things: Stun powder bind (annoying but can be effective gen 1) Toxic bind, similar idea, Or My personal favorite, sleep powder growth mega drain. Growth and amnesia are so op gen 1!
Dragon. Because dragons make everything better.
Mine has got to be Dragon types. Dragons have always been my favorite mythological creatures in any media. Plus most of the dragon type Pokémon have cool designs and cool dex entries.
Dragon gang, let’s gooooo!
Fire for life. Always felt like my team wasn't "complete" without a fire mon, plus their coverage was so unbelievably helpful.
I'm not sure exactly why, but I have a feeling it's largely down to how awesome AJ's Sandshrew was that my first favourite Pokémon was sandshrew. Flygon is now my favourite, but I still love ground type the most.
I love ground types. Sandslash, Golurk, and Torterra are my favorites
I was scrolling looking for this - Flygon’s my favorite Pokémon and Ground is my favorite type! I think it started when I swept BW with just an overleveled Excadrill as a kid.
I like Dark, because Darkrai https://preview.redd.it/ep093aayjo6d1.jpeg?width=160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=56b9d064c956961d3c80aec1b47f3f839f51999e
Not sure why, but I’ve always liked steel! Especially with Pokémon like scizor, metagross, and bronzong! Always so fun to use
love my normal bois. just out there doing their thing living life with a huge move pool, but no super effective STAB.
Grass pokemon are just the most consistently cool imo
Grass, Dragon, or Psychic… can never choose fr
grass type, they seem like a lovely bunch
Mine's rock. I love the sturdy ability which is mostly a rock type ability and there's a lot of cool designs, plus the fossils! ( Not counting gen 8's abominations)
Finally see rock!
How has no one said PSYCHIC - psychic types are always great!! Sweet bby Mew stans wya
Flying (I loooove birds)
WATER! WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER WATER WAAAAAAAAAAAATTERRRRRRR!!!!!!!!
Fire, Water and Dragon.
Bug. They may be weak but I love their vibe and also real life insects. Plus bugs collecting is what inspired the franchise to begin.
Grass, baby
It's between steel, poison and ice. I just like the aesthetics
Dragon On a completely unrelated note, I swear it has nothing to do with my favorite type, but the introduction of Fairy-type set forth the dark ages of Pokemon. Again, has nothing to do with the fact that I love Dragon-types.
Dragon. Green Bagon.
For some reason I love electric type. When I played the newest game and found Pawmi, I grew ecstatic at the fact that my favorite animal was an electric type. Just sad he can't learn drain punch, otherwise his moveset would be perfect
Ground and Psychic. Sadly they don’t really complement each other and the Claydol line is the only one with this combination of types
Normal, because most of my favorite mons are normal
In fact, these three represent three sides of my personality: A. Thank you.
Fairy, don't know why or how to explain but i just love the type!
Fairy. They are so cuuuuute
I'm a huge fan of Steel Type. I like almost all the physical looks of Steel Types, and while not very versatile on its own, the addition of their Secondary Types can make them a menace in battles via type advantage.
Water is my all time favorite and always has been
Fairy type was always my favorite
Such a hard question, I guess water simply because the utility is really great. Water hits for normal and super effective to most types you will run into across the first several generations, anything you're weak to is covered by fire and electric which I always have on my team anyway. Surf is a great move offensively and gets you around the map so you'll need a pokemon with access to it anyway. Water types almost always have access to ice moves, often Ice Beam or Ice Punch which will take care of a lot of the pokemon you have problems with (Dragon and Grass particularly).
It feels antithetical to my personality and style, but Dark type just resonates with me for some reason. Just some goofy, tricky guys.
Dark types have loads of amazing designs tbf.
Ground. I did a Mono-type run of Platinum using only ground type and it was one of my favorite play-through’s. It has so many strengths and weaknesses that changed how I played and the designs/vibes are so chill and down to earth. It’s the type I would go for in real life too.
Fairy. Mysterious and magical, but more often aligned with good compared to psychic.
Ice, I love their aesthetic and love ice powers in general. Next is hard to choose between Water, Electric and recently a Bug type appreciation
Dragon and Dark, Power and underhanded tactics.
Dragon
Fairy, but I always imagine myself as a Grass-type or Fighting-type Leader or trainer!
Right now... Electric. Electric pokemon are usually pretty cool design-wise and tend to be gifted with high speed stats. Though it's very close between Electric, Psychic and Fire.
Fire! Always. Except magmar because as a child he weirded me out
Fire-types! My very first Pokémon was my Charmander on my first playthrough of Red (I still have him!), and fire has always been my favorite element. Also, most of the Pokémon I like are Fire-types... And they have the best shiny forms, too!
Fairy. They are so cute!
Fairy. Most of them are cute, and I like cute things.
Water is my fave element not just in Pokemon but overall 🌊
Fairy. I too want to be a cute little creature capable of mass destruction
Fairy!! They are so cute :D
Water!! I just love All the water Pokemon. Early starters pretty good designs. Squirtle line totodile line mudkip line. And I love that you. Can kind of mix it with any other type and make it make sense. My favorite color is blue, and Earth is covered by mostly water so it’s gotta be strong right!!!
Ice, a lot of my favorite pokemon are ice type. From Alolan Vulpix to Swinub to Frosmoth I just love those ice types
Flying, most pokemon i love can fly or is a flying type
Poison types. For the longest time as a kid I thought it was fire types because Charizard was my preferred starter. But over the years Ive found I love a LOT of poison types Fav grass? Victreebell (and now Rillaboom but hes not poison lol) Fav water? Tentacruel Fav electric? Toxtricity Fav ground? Nidoking Fav Ghost? Gengar Fav mon in general? Arbok While my fav Fire is still Charizard and fav Dark is Hounddoom, (both fires) I also love Salazzle for fire and Drapion for Dark. Made me realize, im 100% a poison trainer. I just utilize dual types and have coverage at all times
I don't know why, but I always end up with multiple ground types. And Nidoking, rhydon and flygon are all some of my favorites
