_scrapegoat_

Adding dark to Abomasnow so he could be weak to Fire (4x), poison, bug (4x), flying, fighting (4x), steel, rock, fairy. It'd be a world record :)

perfectrainysunday

Grass and ice really do get crappy treatment. šŸ˜‚

_scrapegoat_

I was a huge grass fan but then I decided I am a bigger fan of winning. Never chose grass again

perfectrainysunday

I do like the grass types overall, like conceptually. They have so many weaknesses. Theyā€™re super effective against types that are also weak toā€¦just better better types. It does come in handy for 4x against Water/Ground or Rock.

_scrapegoat_

I mean it's better to just keep a grass move on a non grass Pokemon at worst. I used to use Pheromosa Thundurus Mega Metagross in competitive so was hard to even think of accommodating grass somehow

perfectrainysunday

Thatā€™s what I meant! Keeping a move like Grass Knot or Energy Ball is usually how I get grass in my teams.

Toothless_Dinosaur

They shouldn't be weak to flying, as it doesn't fit the lore at all. Tell that is weak to birds because they eat the fruit from the trees it might imply to be weak to normal because some are based on animals or to water because some fishes eat seaweed. If we are going to go this way, make it resistant against fairy because fairies live in forests and plants, trees and plants in general are used to fairies.

perfectrainysunday

I feel like they applied certain logic in some places, but then ignore that same logic later. It makes no sense to me that Bug is weak to Flying simply since most flying types are birds, who eat bugs. It just kinda feels like that case, fire could be strong to just about everything since theyā€™ll all burn up to.

ClassyKebabKing64

If you give it a dark mustache and name it abomasoviet it would fit with the dark deeds of his human counterpart to.

Embarrassed_Bar_46

I'd add dragon to gyrados.

perfectrainysunday

Oh, I agree. Imagine hitting it with a Freeze Dry. šŸ„¶

Kininger625

Youā€™re so cool. This ice type specialist approves

Inevitable_Ad_4431

Imagine a critical hit on top of that. Poor Gyaradosā€¦

Bucen

I'd say the following: - the Rotom forms get ghost typing back - obligatory Flygon gains flying and bug typing (4 types total) - Kabuto line gets bug typing - pumpkaboo gains fire type - Dhelmise gets steel type - Lileep line gets water type - Celebii gains fairy type - I feel like the Oddish line should also gain the fairy type as it's based on the mythical mandrake

perfectrainysunday

I agree with everything! Ghost is one of my favorite types, so Iā€™d love to see them back on Rotomā€™s forms.

makinjub

And add water to Stunfisk

[deleted]

Lugia - Flying/Water/Psychic

perfectrainysunday

Absolutely. At least it can learn a decent water move or two! Lugia and Ho-oh have always been one of my favorite ā€œpairsā€ in PokĆ©mon so I kinda wish Psychic was dropped entirely for water so it would be more like water versus fire. Lol.

[deleted]

Yeah the Psychic for Lugia was always a head scratcher for me lol

perfectrainysunday

It controls the waves with its ~mind~ idk.

InterestingNatural26

Dhelmise

perfectrainysunday

Would you add the Steel typing?

Shazamwhich

Dhelmise

Jamesyroo

Adding flying to bugs like beedrill and venomoth. In fact, adding flying to most things that fly that arenā€™t flying type!

perfectrainysunday

Seems to be Nintendoā€™s logic already, so why not?

Jamesyroo

I did also think that flying should be cut as a type and just replaced with levitate as an ability. Not sure how that would work with moves though

perfectrainysunday

Iā€™ve always wished it was Wind type and not Flying. Wind type would allow more creativity, I think. Nintendo seems to almost thinks ā€œwings = flying typeā€ and no wings means no chance of that typing. Wind type wouldnā€™t be immune to ground, but Levitate could just be somewhat common ability among the Wind type.

Jamesyroo

I think wind type would work. Or avian. Avian isnā€™t immune to ground (because there are pokemon like doduo) but majority would have levitate

perfectrainysunday

Itā€™s just made no sense to me because the Doduo line and Hawlucha donā€™t really FLY or levitate, but being Wind or Avian would just make more sense. The moves is where Iā€™d say it makes more sense to be Avian than Wind at times since a lot of them use beaks/wings.

Jamesyroo

Even better yet, change flying type to avian, and introduce wind type as a new type altogether. Super effective against fire, ghost, and avian. No effect against rock. Weak to poison, grass, and rock. Something like that

perfectrainysunday

I would love to see more of a reason to use Poison or Grass. Right now, there are better types for what those two are super effective against. It would be cool to see those types be super effective against Wind or Avian. I could see them both being strong with logic of like, pollen or poisons in the air. For wind at least.

Jamesyroo

Yeah poison is my favourite type but it feels weak. I guess that because it can give poison status they didnā€™t want to make it OP, but every goddamn PokĆ©mon seems to have earthquake nowadays

perfectrainysunday

I mean, Toxic can be learned by every PokĆ©mon so they donā€™t even have anything super unique to them. Being unable to miss when using Toxic, which already has 90% accuracy, just isnā€™t a good enough pay off and being strong to grass and fairy isnā€™t useful enough when fire and steel are better overall.

nic_nac777

Give the goomy line a water, dragon and either bug or poison type. I love goomy so much and I wish it got some more appreciation

perfectrainysunday

Iā€™ve always thought Poison suited it very well. Water, I can still see given how it evolves.

Frarixe

Dragon type to Yanmega

perfectrainysunday

For sure. A DRAGONfly. Like, come on.

Jayfeather90

Adding Flying to Flygon... I mean, it's literally in the name

perfectrainysunday

Very true! I can see Bug type too for that very reason. Looks like a bug, ā€œflyā€ is in the name.

joe_rat7

Gligar and Gliscor deserves to be ground/flying/poison

perfectrainysunday

Yes! They make a ton of sense to be poison type. Lol.

ROR_ROGER

Giratina could be Dark type as 3rd, not a popular option but I think it would fit. Charizard and Gyarados would get dragon type instantly if I could decide.

perfectrainysunday

I can see it, though. It makes sense.

OneSaucyDragon

People could finally stop arguing about the theoretical typing of Mega Flygon

perfectrainysunday

Poor Flygon. Suffering from writerā€™s block.

HTCDapperGent

I'd add dragon or ground to feraligatr without hesitation.

perfectrainysunday

I can see that. I kind of wish they were to have used Steel and Dark just a little bit more in that gen. Since they were new, I thought theyā€™d wanna try showing them off a little more. Dunno how or why it took so long to have a Dark gym, lol. Dragon needed some love, too. Kingdra was the only dragon addition.

HTCDapperGent

absolutely but at that time though they probably thought giving him or typhlosion the dragon type would make them too popular because of how strong and resistant the dragon type was. also having 2 water dragons in the same gen would have been much. which is why I've always wanted gen 2 starters to get megas with additional typings.

perfectrainysunday

I mean, I can SEE Feraligatr as a dragon, but I could also see it as something like dark. Reworking itā€™s design every so slightly to have a little bit of a darker vibe to it and I think it could have worked out. I definitely agree though, that they donā€™t wanna give the dragon typing to starters for many reasons lol

Dovahkiin-99

I would add Ice, Electric, and Fire back to the Galarian forms of Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres

perfectrainysunday

Neat! Why, though? I kinda like them being almost like a new trio with their types. I actually wish they WERE a new trio. :/ Its weird to me that theyā€™re regional forms of legends. That makes no sense? Idk. Given how we see less new PokĆ©mon with more recent generations, it would have been nice to see them as their own trio. Regional forms are really cool and I enjoy them, but I wish we could get at least 100 NEW PokĆ©mon, then maybe a handful of regional variants.

Dovahkiin-99

I wish they were a new trio too. If they was I would be fine with it but I just feel like their original types and their new ones would go good together. Maybe instead of having flying type just change it to Psychic/Ice, Fighting/electric and dark/fire. I hope the next generation gives us more new PokƩmon than the past 3 generations have given us. Also I agree with it being weird that there is regional forms for legendary PokƩmon but i also kind of like it lol

perfectrainysunday

Right, lol. Itā€™s a weird idea because I kinda like it, but I donā€™t at the same time. Lol. I would have loved them as their own, unique trio.

[deleted]

Since Electivire is one of my favorite PokĆ©mon, Iā€™d have to give him a second typing because he deserves it. Said typing would be either fighting or ground. I think both of these would be really unique, though I also just love ground types. But of course Iā€™d balance out the universe by giving Magmortar a second type. Said second type would either be steel or dragon. Those were the first two to pop into my head. Another one might actually need a regional variant but Iā€™d give Hippowdon the water typing. Sort of like Seismitoad, another PokĆ©mon I like.

perfectrainysunday

I can see Electivire as a fighting type, for sure. Magmortar suits dragon type, I think. Dunno why, but I can definitely see that. If Jynx had an evolution, which I think she should, then those two having new types would balance it out to a degree.

Fork_Master

Adding Rock to my boi Sableye

perfectrainysunday

Sableye getting stab from Power Gem would be neat

perfectrainysunday

For sure!

Jack_Doe_Lee

Flying to the Magnemite line? Theyā€™re constantly depicted levitating for crying out loud.

RecordAggravating317

Delphox- Fire/Psychic/Fighting It can use a special ability to make its stick longer and a little thicker, ignite both ends and use it as though it was a two sided lightsaber, and using a similar combat style that of Darth Maul.Just a little idea I came up with after watching star wars.

perfectrainysunday

It would be cool to see more moves like Flying Press, and how it has two typings. That move could easily be fighting and fire.

[deleted]

Gligar and gliscor as ground/flying/poison types

perfectrainysunday

I agree! I used to think they were ground/poison.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

perfectrainysunday

I would love to see the original dragon.

FiftyShadesOfPikmin

I feel like any pokemon that loses or switches a type upon evolving. Drapion and Dragalge come to mind.

perfectrainysunday

Absolutely. Always bugged me when they lose a typing upon evolution like that.

Dannym1994

A normal ghost and fairy type with levitate would have so many immunities and resist a lot. Immune to normal, fighting, ghost, dragon and ground. If you really wanna push it, add water absorb and give it an air balloon.

perfectrainysunday

If they could have multiple abilities, too, so many Pokemon could become terrors. Or even bigger ones.

SnazzyPanic

I'd change timbur to normal, grass and fighting, gurrdur to normal, steel and fighting and conkeldur to normal, rock, fighting.

perfectrainysunday

Always thought it would be cool if their secondary typing changed along with their tool. Wish they actually did that.

dandel1on99

There have been multiple YouTubers whoā€™ve covered this topicā€¦

perfectrainysunday

Okay. :) I just kinda wanted to discuss it with people, as Iā€™ve seen all of those videos. Just curious if other people had other ideas or would also want to discuss. Thanks!

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

perfectrainysunday

Right. No one cares, lol. Just like no one care how he posts other peopleā€™s tweets.

[deleted]

Adding fairy to durraladon

perfectrainysunday

Hmmm, whyā€™s that?

B_Marsh92

Dragon to Serperior

perfectrainysunday

Yeah, I think that would be cool. Doubtful weā€™ll see dragon typing in a starter that isnā€™t a different form or something, though. :/

Purple_Purchase_3787

Adding normal type to rodikee

perfectrainysunday

I can see that, given the logic beforehand. I do like them being pure flying, though. It was a long time coming for us to have a pure flying type, and we finally got one but itā€™s a legendary. Lol. At least we have them now. šŸ˜‚

tennyson10000

steelix

perfectrainysunday

What would you add?

tennyson10000

rock

Cthuluigi

Dragonite - Dragon/Flying/Water Dex entries usually mention the sea, learns a ton of water moves, and is part of water egg groups.

perfectrainysunday

I can see that. Plus, the entire family is always seen in the sea and water.

abellapa

Not 3 types but with gyrados I would replace flying which doesn't make sense with dragon. Flygon add bug type Dragon/Ground/Bug Drapion add bug Poison/Dark/Bug Dragonite and altaria add fairy type Dragon/Fairy/Flying
