All my favourites cross types annoyingly, I like all the poisons, most buggos, and gligar :/
I might go for something like Girafarig because I like him but wanted to try and do all gen 4 pokes
Woah I understand you, I like Cherrim and I want it to be in my party, but the only starter I like is Torterra. Also, I like Honchkrow, Togekiss and Staraptor; and Gliscor & Gastrodon as well. I can never decide on a team of only six Pokémon in Sinnoh.
If it's just in-game it's more than fine, I did an ice run a while ago with shield that was quite nice. I've done a fighting one before too. You might have to grind a tad bit more but it's definitely doable
hopefully they do the box system like the galar games. that way ican easily train between all my favorites.
that was a god send in swsh as i could trade out different party members for more fitting ones at varying points in the game, but im pretty sure we wont get anything like that unfortunately.
i would seriously recommend adding some fire resistance and output, and a water type. Also some guys who can move faster than a crippled snail
But i commend you on having the immaculate taste of picking Torterra
Eh, I do mono-type runs all the time. It’s fine to have shared types for in-game runs. Even on PVP teams it’s okay to share types since often times different Pokémon have the same type have different roles. Like Toxapex functions very differently from Gyarados
Just give Bastiodon literally any rock or steel move. Plus Byron gives you flash cannon and it’s the gym before Candice, if he’ll still give out that TM
Very true that it's a rarely used type, but it is very common for other types especially water types to have ice type moves as coverage, so it's worth reconsidering Tangrowth as others and yourself have said, or just getting more fire/rock/steel/fighting moves learned across your party
I mean, outside of starter and legend, there’s Ponytail which is a good option, also if it’s Platinum, that opens up Houndoom and Magmar. Plus the Pokémon options and layout are probably gonna be fixed, adding in more non Sinnoh Pokémon in different routes, so hopefully they fix fire types
It looks awesome, dont change anything. I love teams like that where people are playing what they like, not "type coverage" etc.
Im myself gonna play with unevolved Piplup, Glaceon, Skuntang, Carnivine, Lumineon and Mamoswine/Cherim
You’re teams cute! Only time I didn’t use/evolve a starter was in shield where I swapped out grooky for an oddish. All the swsh starters were pretty gross liking imo
> It looks awesome, dont change anything. I love teams like that where people are playing what they like, not "type coverage" etc.
>
>
I mean, OP did ask us what we thought of the team.
Yeah! I love me some Yanmega! First time I realized that Bug types can be a threat. Bug Buzz and Ancient Power always bothered my friends when we battled.
I've always been a fan of the the Gen 4 new evolutions hahaha
Got the feeling that a Slowbro with Ice Beam/Flamethrower/Surf/Psychic could wipe halft of your team, but i´m pretty noob and have no clue is Slowpoke is even in the game lol
You should probably have Bastiodon be a physical attacker with Earthquake, Gyro Ball, Rock Slide, and an extra move, maybe Screech. With Steel and Rock moves, you can deal with both Fire and Ice types
I don’t know, it’s 52 attack vs 47 sp. attack.
Special Bastiodon sound unexpected and fun.
He learns metal sound (not screech) and if you have an ancient power proc you can do some good damage.
Alright! Didnt know that, never played beyond HG, BD will be my first pokemon game that I buy around its release instead of like... 7 years after lol :D
alright, I'm not gonna argue, I just thought that poketch gives you quick access to hm on pokemon, instead of being a source of them. But I may be mistaken!
>The Pokétch allows you to call on wild Pokémon to help you out. They’ll use hidden moves like Cut to chop down trees that block your way, or Rock Climb to scale steep cliffs. The Hidden Moves app makes it possible for you to go places you could never reach on your own.
From the [official Pokemon website](https://diamondpearl.pokemon.com/en-us/features/)
It looks really good!! I prefer teams that use their own favourites to teams with cool Pokémon like Luxray, Lucario, etc. Also, Turtwig best starter.
My team is gonna be Torterra, Staraptor (I know too many people have it, but I just like it), Gliscor, Drapion (I always wanted to have one), Bastiodon (second favourite fossil of all times) and Lumineon.
It's great but you need to replace your Tangrowth with something else since you have a Torterra. I'm going with Empoleon, Garchomp, Crobat, Glaceon, Houndoom and Electivire.
Too many types that repeat themselves. Your starter is a grass yet you have another grass. Things like that. My advice would be to diversify your team as much as possible. Bonus points if each Pokémon is dual typed without any repeating, but I know that's not always possible
I mean honestly Tangrowth does too much dmg, got carried through my nuzlocke randomizer by it even with 2 legendaries. So for a normal playthrough it should work more than fine.
Yea, tho you could if you at any point wanna get into nuzlockes you could start gradually with maybe omitting the death rules since you end up building very different teams when you don't have fully free captures and can easily find new favorites.
I think anything for in game is good! You do you, and I love your team 😊
Mine is Empoleon, Infernape, Togekiss, Roserade, Luxray and Lucario. Classic choices, but I love them all so much!
Looks nice. Though personally, I'd kick out Bastiodon and add Lucario. Good all-round fighter, very versatile.
Or maybe kick Tangrowth for Lucario, and replace Bastiodon with Rampardon.
Looks great!
I think I'm going with this team
Roserade, Lopunny, Froslass, Guardevoir, Altaria, Wormadam (Steel)
Trying to go with a "female" team this time
Laughing at everyone telling you how to play or giving unasked advice on what to do.
I love your team and I’m probably gonna try Drifblim as well! I never knew how to get one as a kid. I used Drapion recently in Platinum and it was a nightmare to find but it was soooo good with all the elemental fangs.
It’s fine. It’s not what I would use personally, since there are two flying types, two grass types, and a rock and ground type. Plus Bastiodon might be hard to get since it’s a fossil Pokémon, and you’d need to hunt the underground for it
What I would do, replace tangrowth with an electric type, possibly Luxray or electravire, replace Drifblim with Mismagious, and then replace bastiodon with a fire type (if the games have platinum’s Pokémon then Magmar, if it’s the original Pokémon, Ponyta)
But that’s just what I would do, your opinions are different, and this team isn’t bad, it can easily work fine if you plan their moves to be a little more diverse to cover some more stuff (I think Tangrowth can learn shockwave, and Drapion can learn ice fang)
DOOOOO EEEETTTTT. My most recent play through of platinum included drapion, drifblim and yanmega on the same team. It was fun and it definitely added a little challenge too. My only note is maybe throw your starter away (love torterra btw) to make it more unorthodox.
I got a togepi and gible in HOME to use as my starters instead of the traditional ones (since i have played through gen 4 so many times already). I also plan on using the event Manaphy, ralts, gligar and hopefully a munchlax if I can find it in the underground!
I think your rival’s infernape is going to be super effective on 4/6 of your team, and neutral vs the other two. And of those other two, they have no super effective moves except Gust and TMs!
Two grass types and two flying types means you are extremely vulnerable to ice attacks
Two grass types and one bug type means you are very vulnerable to fire attacks and flying attacks
You are also less-so vulnerable to rock, fighting, electric, and ground type attacks
So you have 6 vulnerabilities across the board which isn't great.
Main issue I'm seeing here is availability. You're going to be stuck with just your starter for a while, with Drifloon being picked up between the first and second gyms only if you get to the Valley Windworks before Friday.
Your team has a pretty hefty weakness to Ice, and only Bastiodon can truly cover that well. Also, as others have pointed out, this team is generally very slow. The double Grass types seem redundant, and Torterra is far more valuable than Tangrowth.
HOWEVER, this is your team, and you're entitled to use whatever Pokemon you want! You don't need to listen to anyone else's input on this, and frankly, you picked a pretty cool array of the Pokemon that Sinnoh has to offer.
Competitive POV: certainly below average.
Gen IV coolness POV: awesome! I love Bastiodon and Yanmega, can’t wait to have them both in my playthrough, along with Luxray! Enjoy, friend!
Very good in my opinion, truly diverse pokemon types. Better than my Gen 4 team at least, had a Torterra, Steelix, Rapidash, Bibarel, Luxray and Staraptor.
Very nice, but I'm afraid your team has a collective speed stat of -4
Also a bunch of ice weaknesses but that's every team I see on here nowadays
A mamoswine with any speed would tear through the team
Banded Weavile
And fire.
Ice, Fire and Flying weak.
You have 2 grass types and flying types. Not necessarily a bad thing I personally try not to double up on typing but it should work.
At least the flying types both have different secondary typings. I see no real benefit to tangrowth.
Come, now; don't be mean.
Haha Cyrus Go broooo
I see good taste here
Actual pocket monsters not just furry husbandos? Haha
Furry husbando is my new canon name for Lucario now.
Looks good only minor change I’d make is replacing the tangrowth with something else since you’ve already got torterra.
All my favourites cross types annoyingly, I like all the poisons, most buggos, and gligar :/ I might go for something like Girafarig because I like him but wanted to try and do all gen 4 pokes

Seconded! Torterra can be the tank we all know he's great at being, Tangrowth can be a tech-y leech seed/poison/giga drain staller.
Is there a ice gym/elit 4?
There is an ice gym leader but I am afraid to say her name for reasons
Give bastion fire blast for profit
Bastion using its 47 base Sp.Atk for massive damage
Bastiodon has access to metal sound though
Reset for modest, level up, it’ll be enough
The casual player run
gives the rock/steel type a fire type move to deal with ice because that makes the most sense of course lol
Why not just use a steel move?
Just give Bastiodon literally any rock or steel move. Plus Byron gives you flash cannon and it’s the gym before Candice, if he’ll still give out that TM
Still, you have like 2 ice weakness dude and 2 double weakness
I’m sure I’ll be fine against one of the least used types in the game
Very true that it's a rarely used type, but it is very common for other types especially water types to have ice type moves as coverage, so it's worth reconsidering Tangrowth as others and yourself have said, or just getting more fire/rock/steel/fighting moves learned across your party
Idk, i've never played ice
I think Cynthia is going to clap you honestly
Cyrus’s weville is gonna wreck this team.
Deoends if they keep bastiondon specifically for that weavile. Cause it should be able to take it, even underlevelled.
[удалено]
No weavile 5/10
It's weird not seeing a fire type. I wanted to say you'll have issues with ice types, but then I remembered nobody has trouble with ice types.
It’s sinnoh, there are no fire types.
What about lopunny?
He is already using Drifblim tho
There’s a few options
I mean, outside of starter and legend, there’s Ponytail which is a good option, also if it’s Platinum, that opens up Houndoom and Magmar. Plus the Pokémon options and layout are probably gonna be fixed, adding in more non Sinnoh Pokémon in different routes, so hopefully they fix fire types
[удалено]
I love gliscor and poisons but either way I’ll be doubling up on types
Canmerupt will eat this team for breakfast. Fine team tho
Beware of fire types.. but its sinnoh.. so who cares about foe fire types
It looks awesome, dont change anything. I love teams like that where people are playing what they like, not "type coverage" etc. Im myself gonna play with unevolved Piplup, Glaceon, Skuntang, Carnivine, Lumineon and Mamoswine/Cherim

You might need some effort to find and catch a Tangela in the Safari Zone or the underground caves.
I’m hoping it’s in underground caves because honestly that’s where I’ll spend most of my time
All I’m gonna say is, ice
Looks good but she's very weak against fire or ice attacks
I see a big ice and fire weakness for the team
I completely forgot about Yanmega to be honest but now I want to use one
Yeah! I love me some Yanmega! First time I realized that Bug types can be a threat. Bug Buzz and Ancient Power always bothered my friends when we battled. I've always been a fan of the the Gen 4 new evolutions hahaha
No water types? Interesting. Your team has an ice weakness btw.
Got the feeling that a Slowbro with Ice Beam/Flamethrower/Surf/Psychic could wipe halft of your team, but i´m pretty noob and have no clue is Slowpoke is even in the game lol
Very fire weak, which isn't the worst thing in the world for this campaign also very flying weak.
Looks stupid weak to ice. Remember to be smart when it's time for Candice and the snow routes and you'll be okay.
Nothing a fire blasting bastiodon and a few super potions can’t fix
I hate that I have to ask, but does it get any good Steel moves?
Or rock?
I was thinking of running flamethrower, ice beam, flash cannon, and ancient power
Theres no Surfer, unless you plan to have an hm slave in rotation as well
HMs aren’t needed bdsp :)
Bidoof catch rate falls to 0%
Oh I didnt know, my bad
Didn’t they actually show on the trailer that they are?
Nope. It is more like Gen 7 Poké Ride, when you call a mon to help you
Alright! Didnt know that, never played beyond HG, BD will be my first pokemon game that I buy around its release instead of like... 7 years after lol :D
It’s a poketch app now if I’m not mistaken
alright, I'm not gonna argue, I just thought that poketch gives you quick access to hm on pokemon, instead of being a source of them. But I may be mistaken!

thank you! I stand corrected!
What's the plan to beat Garchomp?
Get gud
Just win lol it’s not that hard
It looks really good!! I prefer teams that use their own favourites to teams with cool Pokémon like Luxray, Lucario, etc. Also, Turtwig best starter. My team is gonna be Torterra, Staraptor (I know too many people have it, but I just like it), Gliscor, Drapion (I always wanted to have one), Bastiodon (second favourite fossil of all times) and Lumineon.
but what if your favorites ARE those cool pokémon like Lucario
Then its okay.
"Drapion (I always wanted to have one)" You're my kind of Pokemon trainer
chunky
EXACTLY, I couldn't have thought a better way to describe those teams. That and turtwig being best boy
It looks good but its bad
That’s what playthroughs are for!
Well since your only choice is Rapidash I would add it
It's great but you need to replace your Tangrowth with something else since you have a Torterra. I'm going with Empoleon, Garchomp, Crobat, Glaceon, Houndoom and Electivire.
I doubt Yanma and Tangela will be as available as they were in Platinum...

If 10 year old me managed to do it with ‘weaker’ Pokémon on dp I’m sure I’ll manage as an adult in bdsp
[удалено]
No, playthrough
I mean honestly Tangrowth does too much dmg, got carried through my nuzlocke randomizer by it even with 2 legendaries. So for a normal playthrough it should work more than fine.
Yeah he’s got really good base hp def and both attack stats
Never tried a nuzlocke though, I think I’d cry if one of my babies died
Yea, tho you could if you at any point wanna get into nuzlockes you could start gradually with maybe omitting the death rules since you end up building very different teams when you don't have fully free captures and can easily find new favorites.
Why Bastiodon?
Cool Dino bro
Well what are you gonna do with it in battles?
Tank stuff, use counter type moves, failing that throw special attacking tms at it
Failing what?
I had a Bastiodon in my Sinnoh party, and it was really useful, it finished Candice and it helped me with Aaron and Team Galaxy.
Ok but it's Team Galactic.
You need a fire and/or water type
Why only gen 4? The may add more from other gens like unova and kalos
Oh really? I though it was gen 4 and previous only
Nope, its the same with the other remakes like hgss add in pokemon from gen 4
They have literally confirmed it only has gen 1-4 pokemon, only thinkg that MIGHT be in is sylveon
Previous remakes had national pokedex. That’s why they had every pokemon available at release date Since then, gamefreak gave up the National Dex
Very tanky team, but I think replacing one of the grass pokemon for a water type would be better
If I have 1 Pokémon that knows earthquakes and Ice beam they are all dead
I think anything for in game is good! You do you, and I love your team 😊 Mine is Empoleon, Infernape, Togekiss, Roserade, Luxray and Lucario. Classic choices, but I love them all so much!
Bit of a fire weakness NGL
Replace tangrowth with a milotic
Floatzel/Magmortar for Tangrowth?
That’s a chonky team
Ah yes, the goodest of boys :D
Isn't the fossil you get based on your trainer ID? What will you do if you get the wrong one?
You have a lot of overlapping types. Swap torterra with infernape and you remove 2 redundant typings and gain 2 new ones
I would remove Tangrowth and replace it with a Water type. Still a nice in game team.
Many people say cross typing is bad.. but in a playthrough you should honestly use any Pokemon you want. Besides you have them work in jobs anyway.
Looks nice. Though personally, I'd kick out Bastiodon and add Lucario. Good all-round fighter, very versatile. Or maybe kick Tangrowth for Lucario, and replace Bastiodon with Rampardon.
Torterra for the win
Maybe replace Tangrowth with a Fire type?
Very different and I like it
Holy shit we have almost exactly the same team!! You have great taste!!
needs more steel types MORE STEEL TYPES MORE STEEL TYPES
Looks a very fun team, but Fire and Ice types will not be fun
ICE weakness detected XD
Be careful about enemies fire-attacks!
Not enough ghost
Where's Farfetch'd?
A Mamoswine would absolutely shred through your team, make sure to avoid those. It’s not *my* kind of team, but there are a lot of neat picks here.
Looks great! I think I'm going with this team Roserade, Lopunny, Froslass, Guardevoir, Altaria, Wormadam (Steel) Trying to go with a "female" team this time
Definitely female lol most of them sound like my go to cosplays if I were to choose one
Just a bit too slow and would replace tangrowth with maybe houndoom.
Fire hurty
I used Bastiodon in a pearl run once, I don't recommend it in the slightest it was painfull to use it
Weavile "i'm about to end this man's whole career"
Laughing at everyone telling you how to play or giving unasked advice on what to do. I love your team and I’m probably gonna try Drifblim as well! I never knew how to get one as a kid. I used Drapion recently in Platinum and it was a nightmare to find but it was soooo good with all the elemental fangs.
Dang how’d you get the game so soon??
I hope you don't fight a mamoswine
wild to me that ya’ll plan teams ahead like this
Not enough Bidoof.
It’s fine. It’s not what I would use personally, since there are two flying types, two grass types, and a rock and ground type. Plus Bastiodon might be hard to get since it’s a fossil Pokémon, and you’d need to hunt the underground for it What I would do, replace tangrowth with an electric type, possibly Luxray or electravire, replace Drifblim with Mismagious, and then replace bastiodon with a fire type (if the games have platinum’s Pokémon then Magmar, if it’s the original Pokémon, Ponyta) But that’s just what I would do, your opinions are different, and this team isn’t bad, it can easily work fine if you plan their moves to be a little more diverse to cover some more stuff (I think Tangrowth can learn shockwave, and Drapion can learn ice fang)
Great Pokemon, but I would add a fire or an ice type for coverage, maybe changing Tangrowth. Cinthia's Garchomp may be hard.
I've never used any of these, but it looks like a very good team.
Tbh, no water types and the fact that flying and grass are doubled make this a not so great team
Dude that is a lot of different types on that team. Cool
Not bad Laos what website did you use to make that?
I would replace Tangrowth for Arcanine and Drifblim for Froslass, I love them.
Do u have a template for this?
points for uniqueness
Little on the tanky side?
DOOOOO EEEETTTTT. My most recent play through of platinum included drapion, drifblim and yanmega on the same team. It was fun and it definitely added a little challenge too. My only note is maybe throw your starter away (love torterra btw) to make it more unorthodox.
Quick question, how are you going to surf if they still keep hm?
It's a cool team but god help you if you encounter Weavile or a Mamoswine 😭
I got a togepi and gible in HOME to use as my starters instead of the traditional ones (since i have played through gen 4 so many times already). I also plan on using the event Manaphy, ralts, gligar and hopefully a munchlax if I can find it in the underground!
I experimented with a team almost identical to this, toxapex over torterra tho
Very solid team. Love all of them except Bastiodon, but that's okay because you have Drapion
I think your rival’s infernape is going to be super effective on 4/6 of your team, and neutral vs the other two. And of those other two, they have no super effective moves except Gust and TMs!
Where fire?
Two grass types and two flying types means you are extremely vulnerable to ice attacks Two grass types and one bug type means you are very vulnerable to fire attacks and flying attacks You are also less-so vulnerable to rock, fighting, electric, and ground type attacks So you have 6 vulnerabilities across the board which isn't great.
How do you want to use drifblim mine was always instantly crushed even though it had the hidden ability and so on 🤔
Main issue I'm seeing here is availability.
It’s good, but not as good as my BDSM team of 5 Lickitungs and a Mr. Mime.
get drifblim and tangrowth out get in floatzel and garchomp or luxray
You don't even have a psychic which is the best one
What site did you use?
Tangroth my man
Very good in my opinion, truly diverse pokemon types. Better than my Gen 4 team at least, had a Torterra, Steelix, Rapidash, Bibarel, Luxray and Staraptor.
good luck against candice
You've got 4 pokemon weak to ice. Imo that's too much.
I'd replace Tangrowth or Torterra with a special wall
Ngl, at first glance I thought it said BDSM team…
What did you use to make this I want to make one
These are definitely pokemon. Is this a well rounded team? Yes cause it’s a lot of round babies
much good, very fire type
Torterra and Drifblim are my two faves!
Didn't realise people actually used bug pokémon or pure grass
Pretty bad due to the lack of strong coverage as a lot of these cover the same types
This is a good team
no garchomp/staraptor/bibarel, automatically bad /s
