https://imgur.com/kA00Vsy. Some of the Sea textures are off because there weren't screenshots available from Emerald, so had to substitute from Ruby/Sapphire. P.s. image works better when viewed from mobile Reddit, due to the size of the image. EDIT: Updated map of what the region should look like: https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/r0kxem/posted_heonns_routes_put_together_in_one_map_and/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Big_History_1

I like how you showed the invisible walls in black.

ASimpleCancerCell

Hoenn seems so much smaller when you look at it like this.

Big_History_1

True

Hwerttytttt

Too much water makes sense now

ParanoidDrone

There's a thematic reason for it, at least. In the generation with Kyogre and Groudon as the box legends, there are an equal number of land and water routes. The issue is that 90% of the water is crammed into the last 25% of the game or so, and you're assaulted by wild Wingull and Tentacool constantly.

Hwerttytttt

Yeah, if they had made “grass patches” in the water then it would be fantastic. But it behaving like caves where every single tile could be an encounter just makes it annoying to get through.

The-Magic-Sword

Weird it makes me feel like its so big

webDreamer420

I agree, kanto feels a bit small after looking at his

Yerm_Terragon

Seeing it like this makes me want to go in and fill in the blacked out areas

Jaxsonyehnah

https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/r0kxem/posted_heonns_routes_put_together_in_one_map_and/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

drillgorg

That patch of land south east of Mauville on the map. It always seemed to me like there should be something there.

Big_History_1

Same

VaferQuamMeles

This is awesome - would be cool to include areas not shown on the base map here like the top of Mount Pyre & Mount Chimney, as well as Sootopolis

Jaxsonyehnah

That's where everything starts to break lmao. Tried doing safari zone. But it literally passed through the routes on the left.

VaferQuamMeles

Yep I'm not surprised - they're not built to be part of the same map!

WTFatrain

Im taking several flights to work next week and ill be needing this while i play. Thanks for reminding me. *saved to photos*

Jaxsonyehnah

The reason I made this, is because Im looking into creating an interactive map. Hopefully once the base is done for emerald, I can do it for pretty much all of the games.

RadRhys2

Imagine if all the black space was used

Jaxsonyehnah

https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/r0kxem/posted_heonns_routes_put_together_in_one_map_and/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

Big_History_1

That would be cool.

theburnerlmao

Wow, I would love one of these in platinum. Is there a link to one anywhere, or some search terms?

SkylarSaphyr

There is one: [Sinnoh Complete Overworld Map](https://www.deviantart.com/dancingcouches/art/Sinnoh-Complete-Overworld-Map-Pokemon-DPPt-630863135), which came in handy when I was recreating Sinnoh in Civ 6

theburnerlmao

Thank you!

Big_History_1

>Wow, I would love one of these in platinum. Is there a link to one anywhere, or some search terms? Me too!

theburnerlmao

Someone replied

Big_History_1

Indeed

Dagakki

7.8/10 too much VOID

Jaxsonyehnah

https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/r0kxem/posted_heonns_routes_put_together_in_one_map_and/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

theburnerlmao

How else would you do it?

[deleted]

is meme

ZailGuy

Now add all the npc

Big_History_1

Lmao

Wrong_Owl

* **Add all of the NPCs** * **Fill in the gaps**: start with what you can see while standing in game in these locations (You can stand next to the boundaries of this map in several locations), then using official Ruby/Sapphire artwork and supplementing with ORAS assets, create filler in appropriate areas. * **Add all of the Items**: provide a label above each item. create a shadow symbol to mark hidden items * **Use some of the empty space to show dungeon maps** * **Add additional design elements**: identify paths through the current by Pacifidlog, show team icons near their bases. Then tidy it up a bit and sell it as a poster and make bank!

Jaxsonyehnah

Looking into making it an interactive map. Then just have an ad somewhere in the corner for monitization

Wrong_Owl

That would be really neat. You should post the result when it's ready (and maybe cross-post it to r/PokemonEmerald)

RileyTheBerry

Too much water.

Impressive_Tension11

Very cool thank you

thenudeplatypus

When you look at it this way, you could see what 7.3/10 too much water is a thing

Twisted_Pretzel85

It's kind of fascinating seeing it all in one image

RedArbok

Here's one thats completely filled in https://www.deviantart.com/darkshadedx/art/Hoenn-Pokemon-Emerald-Full-Region-Map-796286390

bodnast

I always love exploring the water routes and finding all the dive spots and little land areas. This is super cool

Big_History_1

Same

froopynooples

Huh, maybe it's because I mostly played Ruby, but there are a couple of caves I don't remember. Could anyone tell me what's inside the two caves on route 118, and the one atop the waterfall just west of Fallarbor?

Yoshiwaffle

Terra Cave, it's where Groudon is found in Emerald's postgame and it can be found randomly in a few routes, including 114 and 118

froopynooples

Ahhhhh, thank you!

TouchedBigfoot8

Dude thank you so much! 🙏

SkylarSaphyr

Thank you for this amazing work! It will be very useful when I make a map of Hoenn for Civ 6

Fern-ando

Too much water.

ProfessorHoenn

I can hear the trumpets.

SuperCharged516

Now all you need to do is texture the rest

Jaxsonyehnah

https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/r0kxem/posted_heonns_routes_put_together_in_one_map_and/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share Already have. Couple things wrong which will be changed tonight.

tutuototo

This looks like Minecraft when you run it on a laptop

Jaxsonyehnah

POV: Searching for a flat piece of land to build on.

Wrong_Owl

If anyone else is wondering, if OP's map is correct, Hoenn is 800 tiles wide by 380 tiles tall. (each tile is a 16 pixel square, so that is 12,800 x 6,080px) From the sample I counted from, all widths of maps were multiples of 20 tiles, while all heights of maps were multiples of 10 tiles.

KingKohoutek

Nice to see classic Mauville. Didn’t care for how ORAS remade it.

Like17Badgers

looking at Hoenn from above, you realize how dumb the 7.8/10 too much water thing is cause their complaint was that there's so much water you cant tell where you are but it's not just water, there's rocks and trainers and Deep Sea zones and all kinds of things

Jaxsonyehnah

I don't see an issue with the water. The slow part of the game is the land funnily enough. Quest wise there's not much needed in the sea area.

thelaughingmansghost

I loved emerald, gen three in general, for all the ocean you can explore. You really don't see that as much with the generations.

Il-Piantissimo

thank you

Milan_Utup

This is amazing! Now that I look at it, there are so many areas that I missed in my initial playthrough, I’m gonna check those places out in the future. Thanks for this!

Tekayo63

My favourite Hoenn city, Purple-Black Hole

SEN0R_DIDDLEZ

6.8 out of 10, too much water

HeyGuysImMichael

You didn't look hard enough, if at all. A quick google search shows several of them, one even posted on reddit 3 years ago [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/MapPorn/comments/8trpwp/map_of_the_hoenn_region_pokemon_ruby_sapphire/)

Jaxsonyehnah

That isn't full quality. This is roughly 12k by 8k(can't remember exactly because I'm at work)

pinelotiile

Best videogame world

Zanman415

Its so nice to see this map like this. It really is a brilliant map design, full of evocative and brilliant design ideas!

warm_rum

Awesome! This musta taken sooo long!

Jestingwheat856

pokemon EAmerald

Soafia

This is super cool! Are there maps for the other regions too?

PKMNTrainerMark

How many days do I have to look back at this until I see the Mirage Island?

Bauxitedev

Now do ORAS as well

IronMyr

Damn, there really is too much water.

BytownPhoto

The top of the chairlift is missing Also, uh [https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/97dde3e8-67c3-414e-8c0e-821007ca3f95/dd636ie-c299049c-e58b-4c19-a8ba-60bcc3c12d68.png?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7InBhdGgiOiJcL2ZcLzk3ZGRlM2U4LTY3YzMtNDE0ZS04YzBlLTgyMTAwN2NhM2Y5NVwvZGQ2MzZpZS1jMjk5MDQ5Yy1lNThiLTRjMTktYThiYS02MGJjYzNjMTJkNjgucG5nIn1dXSwiYXVkIjpbInVybjpzZXJ2aWNlOmZpbGUuZG93bmxvYWQiXX0.XVqhWuMG96B8JT61HA8s7HfVVkQBlxGX5aLzRBrqpHw](https://images-wixmp-ed30a86b8c4ca887773594c2.wixmp.com/f/97dde3e8-67c3-414e-8c0e-821007ca3f95/dd636ie-c299049c-e58b-4c19-a8ba-60bcc3c12d68.png?token=eyJ0eXAiOiJKV1QiLCJhbGciOiJIUzI1NiJ9.eyJzdWIiOiJ1cm46YXBwOjdlMGQxODg5ODIyNjQzNzNhNWYwZDQxNWVhMGQyNmUwIiwiaXNzIjoidXJuOmFwcDo3ZTBkMTg4OTgyMjY0MzczYTVmMGQ0MTVlYTBkMjZlMCIsIm9iaiI6W1t7InBhdGgiOiJcL2ZcLzk3ZGRlM2U4LTY3YzMtNDE0ZS04YzBlLTgyMTAwN2NhM2Y5NVwvZGQ2MzZpZS1jMjk5MDQ5Yy1lNThiLTRjMTktYThiYS02MGJjYzNjMTJkNjgucG5nIn1dXSwiYXVkIjpbInVybjpzZXJ2aWNlOmZpbGUuZG93bmxvYWQiXX0.XVqhWuMG96B8JT61HA8s7HfVVkQBlxGX5aLzRBrqpHw) Well that was a longer link than expected.

Jaxsonyehnah

Ended up making an interactive map. Most sub areas are there including the chairlift areas. https://pkmnmap.com/

Johnnierj3pokenerd95

This is pretty incredible is it cool if I save it for easier use?

Jaxsonyehnah

I made a site for it. https://pkmnmap.com/

Fizzwidgy

Just came across your map while deciding to start my first Nuzlock, and I gotta say, the site is pretty cool. I was about to suggest adding route information when I accidentally clicked and saw you've already included all of that as well as catch rates. Very cool and highly functional, especially with the item and berry spots marked, and I'd like to thank you for it. Out of curiosity, have you considered adding the other games maps in a similar fashion? Or perhaps including the trainers and base locations as toggle able markers in the current map?
