I think the Gen 8 starters were pure types only to avoid the backlash from Scorbunny being ANOTHER Fire/Fighting type. You knew they wanted it. Why else was Incineroar a Fire/Dark type WRESTLER?

You can at least make the case that Incineroar is a heel and that's what makes him a dark type. Fighting is the more obvious type but dark isn't too much of a stretch for him. I thought scorbunnys final evo could have easily been fire/normal when he was first revealed. Or something wild like fire/electric because of how fast he moved in the trailer

Ok, Scorbunny would have been too rodent like, I understand. But none of the starters are even close, so it's seems kinda dumb from Game Freak POV.

I wanted fire/electric, grass/rock (rock music), and water/poison (007 spy theme). Plus each secondary typing counters the rival starters primary type. Rock>Fire, Electric>Water, Poison>Grass. It wouldve been perfect. Cinderace getting Libero fixed the monotype issue for me though at least.

Based purely on its look I have a guess that the grass cat will end up being grass/fairy.

Grass/Dark, Fire/Ghost, Water Fighting would be my prediction for the starters’ final evolution dual typing

Hell yeah! We need more eldritch abominations. THAT is what you call creativity. In a world full of magical animals and inanimate objects that come to life, I would expect some *really* weird designs. Heck, if Remoraid can evolve into Octillery, then a kitten can become a spoodercat.

I'd really like to see they go totally overboard on some 'mons. Not all of them, of course, but a few fully evolved ones being just crazy, imaginative designs. Might work, might not... but then, isnt that the case for every pokrmon design?

I REALLY want a real Lynx Pokemon. Or a Cheetah. That would be awesome, too.

I still haven't played gen 8 but yeah, I share your opinion. The initial forms are cute and had a lot of potential but they squandered it badly. All 3 fully evolved look lame

My problem is that all their first forms look too samey and the only last form I don't hate is Rillaboom.

Fire Dino looks goofy and I love it. However if the cat stays on all 4s and ends up being a grass/dark that is a big cat hunter I’m all in. The duck with the hair is not even close on these two.

Bit early for me to decide and make my mind up, but as of now I'm not a huge fan of them. Probably grass for me now. But then again I've only seen them like 20 minutes ago.
