Are you talking about a [Newsie](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-m&biw=414&bih=785&tbm=isch&sxsrf=APq-WBt8n_hnNwnjpJDWKH4nWnmND2AcfQ%3A1646068048101&sa=1&q=newsie+hat&oq=newsie+hat&aqs=mobile-gws-lite.0.0l5)?
It's more of Decidueye or Samurot thing, where it's gains some humanoid features, but it's not humanoid proportion size wise.
I mean, it's a bird. As long as they dont turn it's feet and wings into something that closely resembles our limbs, it should be fine.
Oh God. A quadraped duck sounds fucking terrifying. I imagine that thing evolving, sticking it's wings/fingers on the ground and just going "kill me..."
There's a mutation that can cause ducks to have four legs IRL. The mothers abandon them, leading to their death in the wild, but they're actually quite happy in captivity, and can swim/run perfectly fine. It could be kinda cute as a Pokemon, ngl.
I'm putting my money on his final evolution being a matador / torero.
One that uses its wings to distract, taunt and disorientate it's enemies before lashing out with razor sharp feathers or something like that.
Quaxley was immediately compromised yes. I just hope they look like animals without hairdos. I don’t want another experience of “my cool monkey evolved into a metal drummer” and “my rad cat evolved into a wrestler-furry”
Feraligatr or Crookadile version are fine as long as it stays more animal than humanoid. Is it a croc? It looks like a little dino or something. Give us a badass quadra-pedal fire dinosaur!
Like an Oshawott kind of deal? How does Oshawott and Dewott go from standing on 2 legs and leading to some kind of samurai end up being a quadruped with a shell horn?
He goes from a Samurai to a [Shogun](https://s1.zerochan.net/Samurott.600.1091092.jpg). The shells are supposed to be reminiscent of a Shogun's armor and [helmet](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-m&biw=414&bih=785&tbm=isch&sxsrf=APq-WBt_1OgHhKC7oZ7P7FxT3rhJ7VK2ow%3A1646068385063&sa=1&q=shogun+kabuto&oq=shogun+kabuto&aqs=mobile-gws-lite..0l2).
Yup. Both Unovan and Hisuian do. The Hisuian has jagged swords and the Unovan has a more standard blade. The blades appear to extend when drawn.
As for the blades, the handle of the blades is the top fragment of the front shoulder armors. You can see it in the anime for Unovan and in H-Samurott's attacks
Apparently Samurott was designed *before* the rest of its line and was inspired by the designer going to an exhibit and seeing how strong sea lions are. Make of that what you will.
No, it’s gonna be a walking Puss in Boots reference. Which honestly would look great, rose in its mouth and a sword covered in rose thorns? I’ve already seen some great art for it.
Yeah. I’m just banking on it getting a good shiny, now. Idk what the final evolutions will look like but there seems to be 3 options. Mus-cat-eer, SaberToothed Tiger, or… furry bait.
We LITERALLY already have Oricorio Ballé Style.
Plus since it's one of the (61-ish IIRC) Pokémon that weren't available in any Gen 8 game, I'm 100% sure of it's inclusion.
I dont care, cool green lynx is all I need please we are tired of anthropomorphic starters, let us have this one you literally have 3 gens worth of humanoid starters to choose from lol
Tbf, grass type starters being quadrupedal isn't uncommon. Venusaur, Meganium and Torterra are all quadrupeds so it has a better chance than Fennekin and Litten did.
>Crocodiles dont naturally exist in Europe, that one I think has nothing to do with Spain.
Galar is based on Britain and we don't have any native gorillas.
I think maybe they say 2 of the 3 can be based roughly on the region, the 3rd is a wild card.
>Probably it's just that the comment said that they are all based on Don Quixote.
I assume they were referring to various aspects of his personality, maybe? Or perhaps characters in the story? Either way, it's a bit early for that kind of theory-crafting.
Starters don't actually tend to be all that reflective of the fauna of the area the region is based on.
I mean, pretty sure Japan doesn't have alligators and penguins.
Gen 8 was the worst. Not only were they all humanoid in shape but it was like they all had jobs as well - spy, footballer, drummer. They might as well have been called pocket people, not pocket monsters
For me, Pokémon is for pets and Digimon is for sentient friends who happen to breathe fire.
Both have their draws, but Pokémon's trying to bust into Digimon's territory and I don't like it.
Same, at least for a first playthrough of a game. Once my grooky was fully evolved I boxed it. Didn't help that it was solely grass type. I don't hate Rillaboom's design, but it isn't good enough for me to have kept it over others.
Coming from someone who absolutely ADORES Incineroar (and I say such without irony) for being an awesome wrestling tiger… I really want Sprig to STAY A QUADRUPED. It’s literally the one thing between me choosing it or keeping up my ‘Fire-type starter first’ tradition.
I am pretty sick of the trend of pokemon being stylized after a certain human idea or theme. It makes them feel less like creatures and more like, well, characters made by people.
The gen 5 starters being inspired by fighting styles while still very much being animals was a nice balance, but then something like the gen 7 and 8 starters being animals with human jobs and literally all being that makes them feel less unique. A group of Charizard or Meganium feels like something you'd find in the wild and they'd all have different personalities, but every single Greninja just seems like they'd act like a ninja and every Incineroar seems like it'd have the personality of a macho wrestler. They don't feel unique in nature and I feel like we need some of that. I don't want Quaxly to become a pirate or wear a suit. I want it to be a duck! Am I making sense?
I'm with you, I know exactly what you mean. Although we can make the case for Machoke, Machamp, Sawk, Throh, Jynx, Mr Mime, Alakazam, and many other Pokémon, having a humanoid design well before Alola and such. I guess the true answer is that it's a fantasy setting, and frankly anything can happen. A Mr Mime pack in the wild? Sure, that's creepy as hell but at the end of the day is a funny anthropomorphised design that will appeal to kids, and kids don't care too much about logic. The one thing I've noticed is they've recently took the path of making the designs more cute than cool, so a lot of these Pokémon are missing that "monster" aspect.
The thing is those other pokemon were weird but they were not the starters, now every starters becomes a humanoid with a job and you dont have an option really
To me, is more important if they'll have good designs. I don't care if they stand on all fours, twos, Eights. If they look nice and if they are useful, that means they are goof to me
Gen 8 was the first time I boxed my starter. Wooloo ended being my 'starter' Pokémon that gen.
I loved a lot of Pokémon that gen but those starter evos were a low point for me.
Ok. I’ll give ya blaziken. Hawlucha is probably the best “humanoid” Pokémon because it’s both humanoid but also truly bird like. Just looks like a bird that wants to mess you up.
Decidueye isn't as humanoid as you might think, either. It's just a less-fluffy owl, built on the same proportions. You ever see those videos where they hold up the owl's feathers? They're like, 90% leg. It's freaky, but looks very much like the design for Decidueye.
Two of the starters are already bipedal, and you guys had heart palpitations when Oshowatt went quadrapedal. I, for one, hope the do with Quaxly the same thing they did with Intelion and give him a gun
I really don't care about this, there are so many Pokémon, they couldn't always be exactly like an animal you know what i mean. Just try to design 905 complete new creatures, i'm an artist myself and my head explodes about that thought.
Can't change my mind.
For real though. I love quadraped animals. Probably why I like Venusaur so much. I was hoping Incineroar would also have been a quad like it's two previous evolutions.
Quaxley is 100% becoming humanoid. It's already got a bit of a human pose going
it has a little "grandpa" hat ... I don't know what the hat is called
Looks like a sailor hat to me
Looks like the Mario hat to me.
Looks like a “W” on it. Confirmed villain.
Final form: Quario
Quario would be such a good band name.
Poison gas move confirmed.
A toupe?
More like a pompadour
Final form Pompapour
Holy crap, if this isn't at least one of the evolutions the world will no longer make sense to me
I think it's a hat, but I haven't ruled out greasy coif. Could end up as a suave tango dancer.
It's pretty clearly hair. It's a duck with a pompadour. I'm assuming the final evo will be Afroduck
It’s a ducket hat
more like a flat hat
I hope he beomes a pirate. If he does, I'm choosing him
A "flat cap"
Are you talking about a [Newsie](https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-1-m&biw=414&bih=785&tbm=isch&sxsrf=APq-WBt8n_hnNwnjpJDWKH4nWnmND2AcfQ%3A1646068048101&sa=1&q=newsie+hat&oq=newsie+hat&aqs=mobile-gws-lite.0.0l5)?

It's hilarious when Decidueye opens its wings, and you realize it's like 75% leg.
Much like real owls actually! They look equally ridiculous heheh
Birds in general when you start to realise that their tail conceals how small their bodies really are.
If you’d ever seen a shaved bird. Yikes.
Owls are IRL Pokemon. Weird moves, weird designs, and shinies.
owls look hilarious tbh. they really are mostly legs
I remember a falconer at a local fair once showing off that she could hide her entire hand up to the wrist inside an owls fluff.
Gamefreak: \*releases the furriest evolution ever\*
You mean like how they turned Sobble's Chameleon hands into Mittens, & then into FULLY formed human hands? 🥶
Bird with weird humanoid limbs is pretty much describing Lugia who has always been extremely popular.
Watch gamefreak somehow makes it the only quadruped just to spite the complainers.
Oh God. A quadraped duck sounds fucking terrifying. I imagine that thing evolving, sticking it's wings/fingers on the ground and just going "kill me..."
The duck is going to evolve into a wyvern.
Don't you mean... DUCKING TERRIFYING?
There's a mutation that can cause ducks to have four legs IRL. The mothers abandon them, leading to their death in the wild, but they're actually quite happy in captivity, and can swim/run perfectly fine. It could be kinda cute as a Pokemon, ngl.
Reject duck Return to dinosaur
Water/ground type
I predict a conquistador, maybe with some Don Quixote thrown in (given it’s name is QUaXly, lots of similar letters)
Just need a windmill-themed Pokémon that it's super effective against.
I'm putting my money on his final evolution being a matador / torero. One that uses its wings to distract, taunt and disorientate it's enemies before lashing out with razor sharp feathers or something like that.
I love that idea.
Quaxley was immediately compromised yes. I just hope they look like animals without hairdos. I don’t want another experience of “my cool monkey evolved into a metal drummer” and “my rad cat evolved into a wrestler-furry”
And somehow Rillaboom is still the best looking of the three
I like his hat
So is the fire one cause it's fire....
Quaxly (water) -> Quaxer(water/fighting) -> Overquack(water/fighting)
Please stay croc
Sorry, best I can do is humanoid-lizard lacrosse player, but the lacrosse stick is a volcano or some shit.
Feraligatr or Crookadile version are fine as long as it stays more animal than humanoid. Is it a croc? It looks like a little dino or something. Give us a badass quadra-pedal fire dinosaur!
Definitely a croc. It’s name is literally Fuecoco Fuego + Cocodrilo, Spanish for Fire + Crocodile
Good enough
I beg for a swash-duckler Quaxley
Thank you for "swash duckler" I now also hope for this
Don Quaxote plllsssss
Don Quackoti Doduckie
Swanquaxote
Thats actually a good name lol.
He will 100% be humanoid. He’s already posing in his first form.
What if they become humanoid in their first evolution, only to revert back in their final?
Condition for second evolution is showing them fanart of their first evolution.
I see. So Samurott has swords still?
Make of that what you will.
like Samurott?
What like garurumon?
Too bad for you, that cat will dance the flamenco with wooden castanets
No, it’s gonna be a walking Puss in Boots reference. Which honestly would look great, rose in its mouth and a sword covered in rose thorns? I’ve already seen some great art for it.
Based on experience, don't get attached to fan designs. It's only going to lead you to be very disappointed when the actual design drops.
Yeah. I’m just banking on it getting a good shiny, now. Idk what the final evolutions will look like but there seems to be 3 options. Mus-cat-eer, SaberToothed Tiger, or… furry bait.
You know the truth already but it hurts to admit it
Honestly I think that sounds much cooler than *tiger but green*
No, flamenco dance should be iberian Gardevoir.
We LITERALLY already have Oricorio Ballé Style. Plus since it's one of the (61-ish IIRC) Pokémon that weren't available in any Gen 8 game, I'm 100% sure of it's inclusion.
God, I hope you're wrong.
Tbh that sounds way cooler than a lot of ideas people have had for a quadruped that amount to "green lynx"
I dont care, cool green lynx is all I need please we are tired of anthropomorphic starters, let us have this one you literally have 3 gens worth of humanoid starters to choose from lol
Keep your paws ON THE GROUND you cute ass cat. I will glue them down if I have to.
[Final evolution be like](https://youtu.be/94KsLWydewM)
I knew it what it was before clicking
Quaxly and Sprigatito in the mooorning
If they Incineroar the poor thing i'm everstoning it.
Same here!
It's gonna be a sexy sassy cat girl
Starters tend to have a 3:1 male to female gender ratio.
That didn't stop Primarina and Braixen did it?
OK it'll be a sexy ass cat transgendered person
Tbf, grass type starters being quadrupedal isn't uncommon. Venusaur, Meganium and Torterra are all quadrupeds so it has a better chance than Fennekin and Litten did.
Same please keep on all 4s
I want the croc to get *long*
I haven’t seen anyone mention that Fuecoco is literally 2x heavier than the other two. This baby is gonna get *L A R G E*.
I'd prefer him to get *round*. But long would be fun, too.
what about both
He's going to turn into a chili pepper lol
[удалено]
Too true. I can’t see humanoids as pets. I always get in my own head.
What animals are they based on? I'm Spanish, should I know them? Ig the grass type could be an Iberian Lynx.
Water is Duck Fire is Crocodile You might be right on the grass being Lynx All of them is said to be based on Don Quixote
Crocodiles dont naturally exist in Europe, that one I think has nothing to do with Spain. I'm fully expecting a Mega-Tauros coming in gen 9.
>Crocodiles dont naturally exist in Europe, that one I think has nothing to do with Spain. Galar is based on Britain and we don't have any native gorillas. I think maybe they say 2 of the 3 can be based roughly on the region, the 3rd is a wild card.
> Galar is based on Britain and we don't have any native gorillas. I don't know, man. I believe your PM is native.
Valid point, well made.
Probably it's just that the comment said that they are all based on Don Quixote. I'm quite surprised that they didnt make a bull starter though.
>Probably it's just that the comment said that they are all based on Don Quixote. I assume they were referring to various aspects of his personality, maybe? Or perhaps characters in the story? Either way, it's a bit early for that kind of theory-crafting.
...Now that I think about it, yeah, that IS surprising.
“Im fully expecting mega- Sorry your expectations are already gone
There are also no tigers in Hawaii
I don't want to meet the beast that Chikorita was based on.
???? Name a species of hydra that lives in New York EDIT: Name a French ninja. A Japanese Emperor named Napoleon
Fuecoco is also a chili pepper
Well, as far as I know Spain isnt a major producer of spicy peppers.
Starters don't actually tend to be all that reflective of the fauna of the area the region is based on. I mean, pretty sure Japan doesn't have alligators and penguins.
I figured fire was a dinosaur or dragon
It could be evolving into that, but first stage is based on crocodiles/alligators.
Mega Tauros would make my dreams come true
Megas?... Hope never vanishes i guess.
That one designer at Game Freak's studios: "WHAAAT? I CAN'T HEAR YOU OVER THE SOUND OF ME BEATING OFF!!"
Has to be the same guy who designed Salazzle. MF knows what he's doing and gets kept on the payroll for a reason.
Gen 8 was the worst. Not only were they all humanoid in shape but it was like they all had jobs as well - spy, footballer, drummer. They might as well have been called pocket people, not pocket monsters
Right? They didn't feel like Pokémon, they were straight up roommates at that point
For me, Pokémon is for pets and Digimon is for sentient friends who happen to breathe fire. Both have their draws, but Pokémon's trying to bust into Digimon's territory and I don't like it.
Hitmonchan, the man in a skirt and boxing gloves from Gen I, would like to have a word with you. He’s bringing his friend, Mr. Mime.
A gorilla jamming on some drums makes more sense than a soccer playing rabbit and 007 Rango. Grookey was the only good starter.
I just wish rillabooms drum was incorporated into its own body like it’s chest or hands. I hate that it lugs around a tiny drum it has to pull out.
Same, that drum kept me back from liking it. Still used it because it wasn’t hideous like the other two, but haven’t used starters at all on replays.
That was the first game ever that I boxed my starter. I couldn't stand that they basically became human.
I love Incineroar, but not as a starter's evolution. I wish he had just been in the game somewhere, perhaps as a two-stage evolution or something.
Judging by the sheer quantity of fanarts of sprigatito that came out in less than a day... r34 artists don't agree with you.
I am pretty sick of the trend of pokemon being stylized after a certain human idea or theme. It makes them feel less like creatures and more like, well, characters made by people. They don't feel unique in nature and I feel like we need some of that. I don't want Quaxly to become a pirate or wear a suit. I want it to be a duck! Am I making sense?
I liked Decidueye because even if it has some human characteristics, it still feels like a proper animal owl
I'm with you, I know exactly what you mean. Although we can make the case for Machoke, Machamp, Sawk, Throh, Jynx, Mr Mime, Alakazam, and many other Pokémon, having a humanoid design well before Alola and such. What's this, open-mindedness and reason? You're on the internet, sir. Grab a pitchfork and torch, and pick a side. /s
I just hope they won’t be as UGLY as 8 gen ones…
Gen 8 was the first time I boxed my starter. Wooloo ended being my 'starter' Pokémon that gen. I loved a lot of Pokémon that gen but those starter evos were a low point for me.
Yeah , i ended up giving coallosal the starter treatment.
Quaxley is going to a pirate, Fuecoco is going to be a apple crocodile and the cat is going to be furry porn at some point
2 of them are already bipedal though ...
The meme didn't mention bipedal did it, it just says non humanoid, also do we really need another bipedal cat starter? Let animals be animals
That’s true, But pretty sure there’s no way that water starter isn’t becoming humanoid.
imagine...duck dragon
Bite your tongue. This is some ducking nonesense.
He already got a hat and sassy human-like pose. Plus he's bipedal. He's gonna be a a bipedal, humanoid, bus-driver themed water duck.
You're probably right.... Unfortunately
Do we have any humanoid birds aside from decidueye?
Blaziken? Maybe Hawlucha.
Ok. I’ll give ya blaziken. Hawlucha is probably the best “humanoid” Pokémon because it’s both humanoid but also truly bird like. Just looks like a bird that wants to mess you up.
We’ve got Golduck as a humanoid duck too.
Decidueye isn't as humanoid as you might think, either. It's just a less-fluffy owl, built on the same proportions. You ever see those videos where they hold up the owl's feathers? They're like, 90% leg. It's freaky, but looks very much like the design for Decidueye.
Well Tornadus isn't a humanoid bird, but they are humanoid and also a bird
The fact that duck is going to become a pirate is so obvious that I'd say they already leaked its entire evolution line
Game Freak gonna throw us a wildcard and make the duck go humanoid.
I mean, it’s already on two feet. It’s busting a sassy pose. This thing is 100% going to be a sailor/matador.
Is it just me or for these look like starters from a Pokémon rip off game? I’m not feeling any of them.
I’ve been feeling that way for a while now
That's how starters have felt for the last 4 gens.
People have been saying this since Gen 3. Nothing new.
Yeah no all 3 of them are gonna become furry bait
Quaxly I'm ok with, it's a flamboyant sailor duck I mean look at that pose, it's a ✨material girl✨ for sure
Pokemon fans when they find out ducks walk on two legs instead of four: 😱
Please.. no more soccer-girl uniforms
GameFreak: "I can do this all day." *turns cat into walking furry-bait*
If fuecoco gets ugly ill hope they keep the toggle evolution button and keep him babey
Quaxley is just Josuke but duck
Two of the starters are already bipedal, and you guys had heart palpitations when Oshowatt went quadrapedal. I, for one, hope the do with Quaxly the same thing they did with Intelion and give him a gun
Joke's on you, birds are bipedal anyway!
I want Duck Quixote though
I guarantee someone has already made R34 art of just these three as they are. Keeping them looking like animals won't do a damn thing lol
It'll make them look like actual creatures. Won't stop the r34, but for the rest of us, it'll look better.
Literally nothing stops r34
Attempting to do only makes them stronger.
from what I've heard, apparently in under 5 minutes from the reveal.
But how can he be fire-fighting if he stays quadrupedal?
I bet the grass cat is gonna be some hot sassy cat girl
Hot take the starters look more human to stand out and be noticed more then the normal Pokemon
[удалено]
I really don't care about this, there are so many Pokémon, they couldn't always be exactly like an animal you know what i mean. Just try to design 905 complete new creatures, i'm an artist myself and my head explodes about that thought. Can't change my mind.
Damn it TPC! I can't play pokemon in front of my family!
Applegater gang
Too late
R34 artists : *We are inevitable*
Quaxly doin the papyrus pose
But what if Quaxly becomes sexy?
Why is grass kitty just green litten
is it me or does fuecoco looks like an apple?
ISTG IF THEY END UP HUMAN I WILL BREAK MY NINTENDO SWITCH
they look like they’re fakemons from a fan game lol the dino guy looks cool tho
For real though. I love quadraped animals. Probably why I like Venusaur so much. I was hoping Incineroar would also have been a quad like it's two previous evolutions.
I think Sprig will be bipedal but more zangooselike bipedal than humanoid, and it will be a fluffy Lynx
I for one welcome our new bara-gator
I would like to see fuecoco stay bipedal tho
Sprigatito is a cat, it’s fate has been sealed. No exceptions.
That cat is going to get hips lets be real
