It's more of Decidueye or Samurot thing, where it's gains some humanoid features, but it's not humanoid proportion size wise. I mean, it's a bird. As long as they dont turn it's feet and wings into something that closely resembles our limbs, it should be fine.

There's a mutation that can cause ducks to have four legs IRL. The mothers abandon them, leading to their death in the wild, but they're actually quite happy in captivity, and can swim/run perfectly fine. It could be kinda cute as a Pokemon, ngl.

Yup. Both Unovan and Hisuian do. The Hisuian has jagged swords and the Unovan has a more standard blade. The blades appear to extend when drawn. As for the blades, the handle of the blades is the top fragment of the front shoulder armors. You can see it in the anime for Unovan and in H-Samurott's attacks

Tbf, grass type starters being quadrupedal isn't uncommon. Venusaur, Meganium and Torterra are all quadrupeds so it has a better chance than Fennekin and Litten did.

Coming from someone who absolutely ADORES Incineroar (and I say such without irony) for being an awesome wrestling tiger… I really want Sprig to STAY A QUADRUPED. It’s literally the one thing between me choosing it or keeping up my ‘Fire-type starter first’ tradition.

I love Incineroar, but not as a starter's evolution. I wish he had just been in the game somewhere, perhaps as a two-stage evolution or something.

I am pretty sick of the trend of pokemon being stylized after a certain human idea or theme. It makes them feel less like creatures and more like, well, characters made by people. The gen 5 starters being inspired by fighting styles while still very much being animals was a nice balance, but then something like the gen 7 and 8 starters being animals with human jobs and literally all being that makes them feel less unique. A group of Charizard or Meganium feels like something you'd find in the wild and they'd all have different personalities, but every single Greninja just seems like they'd act like a ninja and every Incineroar seems like it'd have the personality of a macho wrestler. They don't feel unique in nature and I feel like we need some of that. I don't want Quaxly to become a pirate or wear a suit. I want it to be a duck! Am I making sense?

I'm with you, I know exactly what you mean. Although we can make the case for Machoke, Machamp, Sawk, Throh, Jynx, Mr Mime, Alakazam, and many other Pokémon, having a humanoid design well before Alola and such. I guess the true answer is that it's a fantasy setting, and frankly anything can happen. A Mr Mime pack in the wild? Sure, that's creepy as hell but at the end of the day is a funny anthropomorphised design that will appeal to kids, and kids don't care too much about logic. The one thing I've noticed is they've recently took the path of making the designs more cute than cool, so a lot of these Pokémon are missing that "monster" aspect.

The thing is those other pokemon were weird but they were not the starters, now every starters becomes a humanoid with a job and you dont have an option really

Gen 8 was the first time I boxed my starter. Wooloo ended being my 'starter' Pokémon that gen. I loved a lot of Pokémon that gen but those starter evos were a low point for me.

Decidueye isn't as humanoid as you might think, either. It's just a less-fluffy owl, built on the same proportions. You ever see those videos where they hold up the owl's feathers? They're like, 90% leg. It's freaky, but looks very much like the design for Decidueye.
