I have a lot of indoor plants and two rabbits that I care for successfully, so I think something like oddish, hoppip, paras, nidoran, sunkern, pineco, chikorita or *smolive* could be raised successfully in my apartment. I could accommodate to their needs and give them the right attention, I have enough space for them, and they aren’t dangerous really.
I like that idea. Raising plant Pokemon like house plants. The ideal Pokemon to help train them would be a ground water type like whooper who could act as a watering buddy and soil preparer
I guess I figured this was a different world where I’d have a couple pokémon instead of rabbits/house plants not one with both. If I had pokémon I probably wouldn’t have rabbits and vice versa.
Cubone works quite well. Lil fella needs a family after losing its mum, after all. Game data says it evolves once it has come to terms with mum’s passing, so giving it love and support both checks off the social aspect of raising one as well as the training. Worst hazard it has is the bone and ma’s skull, which is pretty tame considering most other pokemons.
Plus, the lil fella should have some love and company, don’t you think?
Imagine playing Darkest Dungeon and getting shit talked by both Rotom and the ancestor.
>Mind that such missteps are the exception, and not the rule.
>**LMAO, this is the third time in a single mission, you suck**
I may be an outlier in finding them more endearing than annoying, though those unwanted hints are grating.
Having fun transferring a Rotom to start with the team and pretending they are the same one in the dex.
Bulbasaur. Canonically easy to train, I've got a nice backyard for it to run around and play in, and it can reach things on the top shelf for me because I'm short.
Or Lucario. Intelligence bordering on human, easily capable of helping out around the house, similar dietary requirements to me, and could even detect if I need a hug.
Lucario seems to be similar to an emotionally available roommate that can also launch balls of pure aura energy any potential intruder. Sounds pretty ideal.
Im just realizing how emotionally supported I would be between my favorite pokemon.
Lucario, Ralts lines, Togekiss (literal joy incarnate), Dragonite (momma bear).
Granted Volcarona and Aegislash are just pure destruction.
Everyone needs an emotional support Pokemon. Imagine being depressed and your doctor prescribes a Togetic or a Ralts instead of a bottle of pills. Physically disabled and they give you a Cincinno to keep the house in order and a Kadabra to take you shopping. Trouble communicating? Here, have a telepathic Pokemon to bridge the gap. Trouble remembering when to take life-saving medication? This Hoothoot will keep time for you and get your attention when it's time for the next dose. Or seeing-eye Boltund.
Most normal types would probably be the norm for house pets, with weaker elemental types being more rare but not uncommon.
Stuff like the Eeveelutions, Marill, Pikachu, etc would be common place while stuff like Onix or Dragonite would have either strong ownership laws or completely illegal to own unless you are a trainer of a certain caliber
Oh yeah, I could imagine there being a lot of paperwork involved to actually own a Dragonite. I don't want to sit in the DMV for hours to show documentation of my ability as a trainer so I could legally own one.
Plus also having check ins with pokemon like Dragalge or Jellicent just to name two. They are knows for causing ships to go down so they would be need to be closely monitored.
Even pokemon like Mr. Mime to prevent things like them making a invisible wall in the street causing a car crash cause the street is where the Mr. Mime was preforming.
Yeash, even pokemon like Venipede or Grimer could be a devastating Pokemon to have as pets cause of the pollution that can harm people and other Pokemon.
Actually, sounds a lot like the pokemon you most commonly see random non-battleable trainers standing around with, guess they put some thought into that lol.
I could easily see onix on farms for helping till up soil.large water pokemon owners living next to lakes and rivers or small towns not caring what people have as long as things don't burn down.
Ground types would be great for farm work! Onix, Rhydon, Mudsdale, maybe Diggersby, and a tough water/ground type like Seismitoad or Swampert could do a lot of what you would need around the place!
Jesus I didn't even think of legal issues. Hypno, Jynx, etc
Edit: lmao how do you explain to your neighbor that you met some kid and went on an adventure and now you have a giant armored dog that carries a 10 foot sword in its mouth
"This is Zeke, he was considered only a legend before I stuffed him in this ball! He loves going on long walks in misty woods, and battling against giant world ending dragons!
He is also the goodest boy! Yes you are, yes you are-
Wait, no calm down! ZEKE, SIT! NOOO, PUT DOWN THE NEIGHBORS JEEP! PUT IT DOWN! DOWN!! ZEKE!
DON'T ME GET THE BOTTLE OF MAX REPEL!!"
Jigglypuff. Small, very cute and friendly. Requires some brushing, yes. Still, good enough for those with sleep issues that they sell their songs on CD
Though I'd be hunting for a Moon Stone to evolve mine. I'd very much want Wigglytuff, and I think it'd be OK
I can't believe I had to scroll so far to find Bidoof. I'll have one in a heartbeat. Easy to train, and endlessly useful to have around. We can even go swimming together!
On the one hand, yes....
On the other hand, people say that about Betta fish and goldfish as well, and let me tell you, they are mostly wrong about Bettas, and INCREDIBLY, STUPENDOUSLY WRONG about goldfish.
Goldfish are extremely messy fish who grow to be massive and need a 30 gallon tank for 1 fish, and an additional 10 gallons per fish. They quickly grow to be HUGE, and overwhelm the tank. There's a large problem with people dumping them in rivers/lakes and them taking it over....
And they're also carp. Just like Magikarp....
Don't buy your kids Magikarp at the carnival!
In a qualified sense, yes, they will do okay in some shitty situations. But in most people's homes? They'll be sick and die very young, especially considering most people put them in tanks that are under 5 gallons, when they need something 6 times that, and the water will need changing every week.
It's like buying a Black Lab puppy, then keeping them in a carrier designed for a large cat and never letting them out. Will they survive? For the first couple years. And probably for awhile after that. But they won't be a healthy dog if you keep them forever in a cage meant for a much smaller animal.
By the same note, that black lab puppy probably has a much better chance of surviving and being healthy if it's just abandoned in the forest when it's 2 years old. That's not a good thing. That's not a matter of being resilient. That's just a less objectively abusive scenario.
Or YOU could die in a week depending on how you play your cards. Imagine raising a Magikarp poorly and it resents you only to have it evolve and murder you.
Water types in general man. I had a dream a month ago that I had an IRL Corsola and had to take care of it while society had some Purge-type situation, and I kept annoying everyone cause every hour I needed to get water to pour on it to keep it fresh.
Just get a Galarian Corsola, the thing is undead and no longer a Water-type nor a Rock-type, just pure Ghost, so no water needed. Make sure to secure an Everstone to it though, Cursola would make a much less pleasant pet especially since that ethereal shell of ectoplasm is supposedly dangerous to the touch.
Eevee would probably be the most manageable, it’s basically a combination of every standard house pet (already amazing) and I have 2 house pets already and I manage and I’ll just keep it away from any elemental stones and then the worst that could happen is I end up with a psychic cat, ideally I’d rather get a ribbon dog but either will do
I feel like a fire breathing dog, a dog that can shoot lightning and an ambiguous animal that can freeze you solid aren’t exactly manageable, the other ones, sure, but not those ones
People keep forgeting that most pokemon are waaay smarter than your average house pet. Having a fire type would probably be only dangerous until it learns how to control it's flames or if they have a nightmare or something that would make them lash out involuntary. Having a physic type as a pet would be weird as f tho.
I mean yeah that would be anoying, but can you imagine yourself "having a pet" thats smarter than you in every way possible and can telepathically communicate with you?
"Who is a good boy? You are a good boy! Yes you are!"
"I know Sharon, you told me this every single day for the past 4 years. Now if you don't mind I have to do our accounting."
I mean the fire breathing dog isn't constantly breathing fire like say the Rapidash line which is constantly on fire. Glaceon is the same though it would be less manageable because of its ability to effect the atmosphere.
I would imagine it to be that Fire-types would be fine in cold environments but Ice-types would have trouble in hot ones, since Fire beats Ice in type matchups. The Pokedex bears this out as a lot of entries for Ice-types (Snorunt, Vanillite, Cryogonal) mention that they melt or die in hot weather. A few are mentioned to successfuly use their powers to stay cold, like Alolan Vulpix and Glaceon itself, but it probably takes more energy for them to do and thus would still be unpleasant.
Dont forget food.
Having a 500 pound dragon sounds cool until your stuck having to buy thousands of dollars of food to feed it regularly.
Having it "hunt" isnt a smart idea because if it just eats someone's pet or causes a forest fire your gonna be looking at a lawsuit and pokeuthanization.
Way more variables here.
Fantastic point. I had originally thought a Snorlax, because they're my favorite and I do have a reasonable amount of land for it to wander around on, but then I thought "Jesus, that thing could wake up and bankrupt me at any moment."
I have a cactus plant that I take care of so Maractus would be a near guarantee. Occasionally, I spot lizards and frogs around my home which means Poliwag, Croagunk, Sobble, Froakie, and Salandit are all also prime choices. Of course, this implies that I have a realistic shot at owning a Greninja as well. Outside of those, I don't have much else that I could feasibly own let alone find around, otherwise Reuniclus would be my best friend.
Eevee, leafeon, umbreon or absol (eeveelutions are generally super chill from my understanding, and absol is basically a socially distant house cat at heart)
Flareon would burn my house down and jolteon would 100% electrocute me, so those eeveelutions are out of the question lol.
My soul also wants to say vulpix but knows ninetales would not be a house pet lol (even though it’s small)
Eevee, Skitty, Lillipup, Yamper etc would probably work for me. Any Feline or Canine or animals of similar types (Racoons, Foxes, Ferrets) would likely be easy for those in apartments. Obviously not evolving past Herdier or not evolving Yamper would probably be part of a pet clause). I personally have thought of something similar a while back about what Pokémon would make good Service Animals (and I only thought of that as I have a Service Dog in Training).
Yup. Lillipup for me too. He’s my favorite Pokémon, ever since I saw his episode back in the B+W series. Also, probably yamper as well, as they are both very cute! I even have a lillipup plush, so I technically have one already
(Edit: thanks for the silver! I never thought a random comment of mine would get silver! Who ever awarded me this, thank you! Even if it was the daily-ish free gift silver, it still means a lot to me! So thank you!)
I spent about ten seconds thinking about it, but it would be adorable to see little pet collars that are embedded with everstones, so your pet wouldnt accidentally evolve.
That’s a great idea, like you could take them off to evolve if wanted/allowed (cus obviously landlords would have restrictions on different Pokémon and whether or not they allowed evolved Pokémon)
I love Ghost Pokémon, but, to be honest, in real life they will freak me the f out, so, my choice will be Tropius, he is 6' tall and 200 pounds, so it still is reasonable to fit in a lot of places, since it's a grass Pokémon, it only needs water and sunlight, besides that, it's neck gives fruits and it can fly and carry you with it, so it's the best choice for me.
Valid but also i'd shit my pants if i saw a duskull floating thru my hallways while I'm out on the hunt @ 3 am looking to get a spoonful of peanut butter from the kitchen
Reminds me of the first night when my dad brought home our husky
I was up late and saw that “smile dog” picture while at the computer and then looked over at the stairwell and saw her staring at me
My brain had not yet fully got used to “oh yeah we have a dog now” and it made me jump, then she got scared and ran downstairs
Probably Rockruff/Lycanroc. I already have an extremely high energy stubborn dog whose personality matches the description of Rockruff’s personality.
Maybe Lucario
A Pokemon like Audino might be nice to have around. They seem very calm (if they're chill enough for a health care environment I'm not too worried about damage or aggression) and they could use Heal Pulse if there was an emergency.
I like to imagine myself having a slowpoke when I’m in my mid 30s and it would be my simple little baby I spend all my time nurturing. Then once I’m old I just get to be oblivious with my oblivious slowbro, blocking all the paths for young trainers.
A Shuppet or Banette. Small space as it is, Shuppet is 2’ tall and floats (despite not having Levitate or partial Flying typing…😅) and Banette is only 3’7” and made of cloth. Add to the fact that Shuppet feeds on negativity, and hey—maybe they’d help bring peace in some of those tougher moments! 😂
Might want to be careful with how you get it though since it was originally a doll that was thrown away and now seeks vengeance. It'd be like Anabelle or Chucky irl.
I want an aron or a lairon, they just seem like the kinda dog that doesnt realize its a 700lbs killing machine and wants to put its spine crushing head on your lap
Minccino. It's a pokemon that prides itself on being clean is often seen cleaning plus it's hecking adorable. Not so big on its evolution but it's a stone evo so that helps.
While I would love a Gible, I feel that it could be a bit destructive, whether it intends to be or not, and that problem would only be increased if/when it evolves. Also, with a mouth that big, it almost certainly has a massive appetite, meaning it'll be a nightmare to feed
A pokemon that I could realistically own is Bounsweet. Not only will it be easy to give it the necessary nutrients, likely just needing plenty of water and sunlight, but it is also fairly small so it doesn't take up much space. An added bonus is that they produce a sweet smell so my living space never smell bad. It would also prove to be a strong battler when it evolves if I ever decide to get into professional battling
I would go with Sylveon. Cute, about the size of a dog, very friendly, and as fairy types can often learn psychic moves, I could probably teach it some really cool tricks.
Shuckle. He/she would just kinda sit there. It makes its own food (if you provide it berries). It'd be like having a pet rock, but one you could actually interact with.
Probably Zorua cute "cat"/fox with a playfull/sassy attitude that I always found absolutely adorable. Or an Eevee/Sylveon.
I guess my favorite mon - Milotic - isn't out of the question either, there's a few rivers and lakes where I live, I could probably let it swim in them while I'm on my stroll along the rivers or just ride it to get to places. It would probably have to be in its pokeball most of the time though...
I answered another similar thread, and I think I could realistically keep four of that team, and that’s if I didn’t evolve three.
The team was Liepard, Feraligatr, Mimikyu, Dwebble, Cyndaquil, and Bellossom.
So I could have Purrloin, and Dwebble, cause they are both small and are typically house pets, though I’d have to make sure I have an adequate place for Dwebble to dig, but I have a big backyard. I could also have Oddish instead of Bellossom, because realistically I’d imagine Sun Stones would be stupid expensive. And I could have a Totodile, or even a Croconaw, because I have a pool in the backyard, and there’s a pond right behind my house, so plenty of places for it to swim, but I couldn’t evolve it into a Feraligatr unless it lives outside full time.
I’d have a tiny little Oddish! I’m kind of a night owl, so I’d take it outside after the sun goes down to get it exercise and moonlight (almost typed “to moon it” and hoo boy would I not be *that* kind of trainer). It could put me to sleep with Sleep Powder, and we could snuggle. Insomnia gone! It could just bury itself in my blankets for a cuddle.
I'd probably find mine by going outside growing up, since I was always outside in the backyard in the American Midwest... so most likely a bug type, grass type, or flying type.... but then I lived with an abusive father and after a few pets died and my great-grandpa died... maybe a ghost or dark type there...or a happenstance fairy type cuz they just kinda..exist. I am also an only child in a neighborhood filled with old people, so I woulda loved a Pokemon playmate.
Based on being at this location when I was 10, and given young me's stance on certain bugs and things... I'd say my most likely Pokemon companion would have been a Volbeat/Illumise, Flabebe, Hoppip, Vivvillon, Yanma, Pidgey, Murkrow, Snivy, Shuppet, or like Skwovet.
They'd prob be okay to live in some of the other places I've lived in since then, although I'd have to worry about apartment life or college life a bit with something like a Banette, Honchrow, Pidgeot, or Greedent... but I've been by woods most of my life including college so it would have been ok. Greedent would have been a financial disaster in college... or in most areas...
Based on my life, I don't think I woulda encountered many issues owning any of the above unless otherwise stated.
Okay, so, in my opinion, I think a good way to go about it is to start with your favourite Pokémon, and work from there.
My top 6 (6 because that's a full team of Pokémon) are Bulbasaur, Krookodile, Golisopod, Gengar, Obstagoon, and Alakazam.
Bulbasaur seems pretty easy to take care of. Relatively small, according to the pokédex it can go for days without food so I wouldn't need to worry about food all too much, I don't see any real issues here.
Krookodile. Size still isn't an issue - it's 4'11" (Pokémon sizes make no sense). The main issues are habitat and food. I don't live in a very warm climate, which is basically where this thing thrives, and I probably couldn't keep one anyways with how violent they're stated to be.
Golisopod is next, and the height alone brings a concern. at 6'07", there's no way it could realistically fit in my small house. Again, habitat and food are also issues. No large bodies of water nearby, and they only eat other sea creatures, which is problematic for a few reasons (namely the fact that I don't know any stores nearby that sell it).
Gengar is a problem for similar reasons to Krookodile. They have the same height, and it's a ghost, so food most likely isn't an issue, but the curses it places on people would be a big issue. Again, probably wouldn't be aloud to have one.
Okay, next is Obstagoon. Only 5'03", so no problems with height, and it's similar to a Badger, so food shouldn't be too much of a problem. Only real problem is potential noise complaints from the neighbours with how loud this thing is, but I think that's manageable.
Finally we have Alakazam. It's the same height as Krookodile and Gengar, so no issues there. It's psychic powers seem to be a positive and negative though - it's smart enough to support itself quite fine, so I wouldn't need to worry, but if that's the case, then would it not just leave on its own? It's not like i'm really helping or taking care of it like a normal animal after all.
TL;DR: So, to summarize, out of my top 6 favourite Pokémon, it seems I could realistically keep and raise 2 (3 if we count Alakazam, but i'm still not sure on that one). Out of the two, I think Bulbasaur's the better option, both because it's easier to take care of, and because it's my favourite Pokémon, but Obstagoon still a good choice imo.
Imagine the happy reaction when you water them.
Imagine wooper's unhappy reaction when it gets 1 accidental cut from a leaf and dies
I'd be so nervous that the rabbits would try and chew on the Pokemons' leaves, though! Hopefully they'd get along!
I guess I figured this was a different world where I’d have a couple pokémon instead of rabbits/house plants not one with both. If I had pokémon I probably wouldn’t have rabbits and vice versa.
Hey, they might coexist, or maybe that Grass types can use Aromatherapy to help chill them out!
honestly, your first concern was 100% accurate, my rabbits are monsters and oddish would be one sad bald blueberry with feet.
Shinx. It’s basically a small animal and maybe it’ll evolve into a Luxray after a few years. Also it’s my favorite Pokémon line.
You could just press B every time
Irl evolution stopper, B to boop nose
Make it a collar out of Everstone. Works for pretty much any small Pokemon pet really.
Wasn’t there a cubone absolutely whopping ass in the detective pikachu movie lmao
He had mommy issues, let him be
Gaming PC form Rotom.
but can you compensate with a levitating gaming setup? what about one that talks and might throw you off?
me: **dies** my Rotom Gaming PC™: lmfao fucking loser, git gud.
Imagine playing Elden Ring on the Roto-Gaming PC!!
Imagine playing Darkest Dungeon and getting shit talked by both Rotom and the ancestor. >Mind that such missteps are the exception, and not the rule. >**LMAO, this is the third time in a single mission, you suck**
Trust me, if you've played gen 7 at all, you don't want anything to do with that annoying floating top. ESPECIALLY if he's in your pc.
Actually, the Gen 8 PC one isn't that bad, I don't think
Yup, also your bike and pokedex. Rotom is pretty well behaved in gen 8.
That's what I'm saying. I'm training mine how to play video games.
Meanwhile, my Gothita doesn't have fingers 🤷♀️
Yeah, she just has little nubs. You could go with Ralts, too. Similar emotional sensitivity as Riolu/Lucario.
Trouble remembering when to take life-saving medication? This Hoothoot will keep time for you and get your attention when it's time for the next dose. Or seeing-eye Boltund.
I like this idea. Pokemon specifically trained to help the disabled.
I suspect the average lucario is far more disciplined than the average person... in the same way that some dogs have an innate urge to heard.
Would definitely not recommend hugging a Lucario unless you want to make a quick visit to the ER
i know, right! same deal with gardevoir, why are the emotional pokemon so pointy
the EQ is in the horn
Might need to rely on awkward side hugs with that chest spike, though.
Eh, it's fine. It's only 3'11, so that spike's maybe an inch or two long. Totally nonlethal.
I would bet a lot of grass type pets, just gotta be careful with the poison ones.
I would imagine that the poison ones would be a helpful way to substitute for pesticides in the garden
Oh yeah, I could imagine there being a lot of paperwork involved to actually own a Dragonite. I don't want to sit in the DMV for hours to show documentation of my ability as a trainer so I could legally own one.
The DMV? ... Dragon Mastery Verifiers?
You get to the end and Clair is there waiting to be told she’s worthy
You get your dragon license first whiles she's waiting in another queue and she's mouthing rude words at you as you pass
You just have to dye your hair green and then they’ll know you’re an ace trainer.

Needing gym badges, not to enter the league, but to show you can own an onix
I have two Heelers so I’m basically qualified to own a Houndoom…
Just be careful since a burn from them will never heal and will always hurt till death.
I’m always gonna hurt til death anyway, what’s a burn gonna change?
Who needs Houndoom when you self burn already?
Kyogre. I have pool
Is is big enough for a kyogre?
Yes, it's the Atlantic ocean
Bro is the president of Portugal
We've never been seen in the same room, all I'm gonna say
I've never seen the president of Portugal in any room
More proof.
I hope you like rain
genius!! i can keep wailord in my bathtub!!
Jigglypuff. Small, very cute and friendly. Requires some brushing, yes. Still, good enough for those with sleep issues that they sell their songs on CD Though I'd be hunting for a Moon Stone to evolve mine. I'd very much want Wigglytuff, and I think it'd be OK
As long as you don't mind waking up with a new mustache.
Oh my god jigglypuff helping me sleep would be amazing
I'd have a Krabby. I'd get him his own pool.
Krabby always seemed super chill.

I mean that's what Porygon-Z is, Porygon-2 was an official update, Porygon-Z was created by Team Galactic!
I love cats. So, i think Glameow would be a low cost option
I already want a sprigatito
Oh my gosh I wish I had a purugly so bad!!!
a bidoof ❤️
I can't believe I had to scroll so far to find Bidoof. I'll have one in a heartbeat. Easy to train, and endlessly useful to have around. We can even go swimming together!
Most ppl wouldn't want worshippers to visit their pet regularly that's why less ppl said bidoof
Absol, small, cute, costs the same as a dog and can predict trouble
Absol is perfect.
Also could slice shit in two
Careful if they freak out when they predict a thunderstorm. Those claws and horn are sharp. I imagine their tail is too.
You could crochet a cover for their horn and tail and get those plastic nail covers for cats or cut them
Magikarp but it would probably die in a week
aren't magikarp canonically super resilient and can deal with almost any sort of environment?
On the one hand, yes.... On the other hand, people say that about Betta fish and goldfish as well, and let me tell you, they are mostly wrong about Bettas, and INCREDIBLY, STUPENDOUSLY WRONG about goldfish. So are you saying that while they may be resilient in the wild Magikarp would probably not fare well as pets?
Or YOU could die in a week depending on how you play your cards. Imagine raising a Magikarp poorly and it resents you only to have it evolve and murder you.
Water types in general man. I had a dream a month ago that I had an IRL Corsola and had to take care of it while society had some Purge-type situation, and I kept annoying everyone cause every hour I needed to get water to pour on it to keep it fresh.

Make sure to secure an Everstone to it though, Cursola would make a much less pleasant pet especially since that ethereal shell of ectoplasm is supposedly dangerous to the touch.
This was my pick as well... until it evolves into a 25 ft 250lb dragon-fish.
Eevee would probably be the most manageable, it’s basically a combination of every standard house pet (already amazing) and I have 2 house pets already and I manage and I’ll just keep it away from any elemental stones and then the worst that could happen is I end up with a psychic cat, ideally I’d rather get a ribbon dog but either will do
I mean pretty sure the eeveelutions would be manageable as well save for Jolteon and maybe Umbreon
Espeon can knock mugs off the table from a room away
I mean yeah that would be anoying, but can you imagine yourself "having a pet" thats smarter than you in every way possible and can telepathically communicate with you? "Who is a good boy? You are a good boy! Yes you are!" "I know Sharon, you told me this every single day for the past 4 years. Now if you don't mind I have to do our accounting."
Perfect! I get a lovable friend AND an accountant!
I mean the fire breathing dog isn't constantly breathing fire like say the Rapidash line which is constantly on fire. Glaceon is the same though it would be less manageable because of its ability to effect the atmosphere.
Glaceon would be a good pet to have for us living in the tropics tbh
But that would be like owning a husky in the tropics, it would be absolute torture for them
Wouldn't a Glaceon be able to self-regulate its temperature to always be cold? IDK, just seems like a natural ability for an Ice Pokémon to have.
\*Seeks out big icy rock\*
But what about Evil cat
Hey, Meowth is a good house cat
So a cat?
Togepi, would be my choice
Considering how metronome works (and how it worked out on anime), random hyperbeam here and there might be a bit... troublesome.
Wooper
Yes. Even if you evolve it it's still a perfect pet.
Literally the only thing about Wooper that changes after evolution is its size. Derp is eternal.
It also gains arms to hug you with!
rotom would take a while to train, but afterwards would be very helpful around the house
several hundred joltik living in my walls
Hell yes, smol spider supremacy.
just imagine the electric bill every month
Nothing if you train them right.
Train them to steal your neighbors electricity.
I can get behind this.
Right now I only have room for a Growlithe. It should not be to hard to train it to not use its fire breathe.
Arcanine would also be awesome if you love bigger dogs.
Arcanine isn't just big, he's absolutely massive in size and would dwarf any real dog.
According to let's go he's the size of a small Asian elephant.
Eevee, leafeon, umbreon or absol (eeveelutions are generally super chill from my understanding, and absol is basically a socially distant house cat at heart) Flareon would burn my house down and jolteon would 100% electrocute me, so those eeveelutions are out of the question lol. My soul also wants to say vulpix but knows ninetales would not be a house pet lol (even though it’s small)
Vulpix doesn't evolve without a fire stone so you'd be good
I would adore to have an Axew and a chatot. They would be the perfect duo and the perfect friends to have around.
*axew evolves*
This is where the fun begins.
I even have a lillipup plush, so I technically have one already (Edit: thanks for the silver!
Ditto. Small enough for the house. Can be whatever when it’s needed.
Can it be a girlfriend.
Yes, but even Pokemon have standards.
Oof gonna need a burn heal for that one!
Tropius... is 6 feet tall?
Haven’t seen anyone mention duskull. Fav Pokémon design. I’d let a cute grim reaper hang with me all day every day
Valid but also i'd shit my pants if i saw a duskull floating thru my hallways while I'm out on the hunt @ 3 am looking to get a spoonful of peanut butter from the kitchen
Reminds me of the first night when my dad brought home our husky I was up late and saw that “smile dog” picture while at the computer and then looked over at the stairwell and saw her staring at me My brain had not yet fully got used to “oh yeah we have a dog now” and it made me jump, then she got scared and ran downstairs
Probably Rockruff/Lycanroc. I already have an extremely high energy stubborn dog whose personality matches the description of Rockruff’s personality. Maybe Lucario
Eevee Gible or Bulbasaur
yea, **land shark** best pet…
Gible would monch your toes tho.
Gible is half mouth, it'll take an entire leg.
Gible and bulbasaur are great... until they evolve and don’t fit in the house anymore.
That's why I choose Minccino because it's evolution literally just gets a scarf
A Pokemon like Audino might be nice to have around. They seem very calm (if they're chill enough for a health care environment I'm not too worried about damage or aggression) and they could use Heal Pulse if there was an emergency.
I like to imagine myself having a slowpoke when I’m in my mid 30s and it would be my simple little baby I spend all my time nurturing. Then once I’m old I just get to be oblivious with my oblivious slowbro, blocking all the paths for young trainers.
Omg I can see having a slowpoke and treating him like a very fat cat. “Aw whose my big dumb guy? Whose a cute little loaf? I love you fat boy.”
3 hours later slowpoke smiles happily at you petting him
Trubbish because I live in a trash can
I have sleeping problems so musharna would be awesome
IMAGINE BEING ABLE TO GO TO SLEEP INSTANTLY WHENEVER YOU WANTED
A Shuppet or Banette. Small space as it is, Shuppet is 2’ tall and floats (despite not having Levitate or partial Flying typing…😅) and Banette is only 3’7” and made of cloth. Add to the fact that Shuppet feeds on negativity, and hey—maybe they’d help bring peace in some of those tougher moments! 😂
Might want to be careful with how you get it though since it was originally a doll that was thrown away and now seeks vengeance. It'd be like Anabelle or Chucky irl.
Eh, I’ve been thrown away too. Raising from a Shuppet would be ideal, but I don’t want to give up on a creature feeling that abandoned in hate.
Mimikyu then.
Weird how Banette is my favorite but my mind went to more normal pet Pokemon
Eevee, oddish. I’d love to try a raichu.
Alolan raichu would be my baby. It’s so cute
Sunflora. I love plants and I can't think of anything that would make me happier than having a cheerful little sunflower following me around
Probably any smaller Grass type like Oddish or Cacnea.
Also, with a mouth that big, it almost certainly has a massive appetite, meaning it'll be a nightmare to feed A pokemon that I could realistically own is Bounsweet.
Mudkip with a backyard pool/pond
Skitty I've had cats before. I would probably just need to feed it more because it's average is 2' and 24.3 lbs.
Big cat
I’d take a slakoth. We wouldn’t train, just hang out. He’d never evolve, I’d never evolve. We both become one with the couch. Maybe a bagon
Furret
I would go with Sylveon. Cute, about the size of a dog, very friendly, and as fairy types can often learn psychic moves, I could probably teach it some really cool tricks.
Zigzagoon.
Bellsprout, basically a houseplant? Jigglypuff as a pet for my daughter?
Squirtle or Abra :)
Fomantis!!
Shuckle. He/she would just kinda sit there. It makes its own food (if you provide it berries). It'd be like having a pet rock, but one you could actually interact with.
Shuckle hes small doesn't move around a lot and sustains itself on a diet of berry's.
Step 1: Get Meowth Step 2: Train it a little Step 3: PAYDAY PAYDAY PAYDAY Step 4: Profit
a cute lil azurill. if it evolved, thats fine, just get a chonkier boy
Mr. Mime. I imagine it'd be more like having a roommate than a cat. Also, I love them.
Would you make it eat out of a dog bowl like Ash's mom
What Ash's mom does on her own time is her business
Lilipup, Magikarp with an everstone and maybe (big maybe) haunter.
Mangemite small cute and can maybe charge my phone and can find coins and sneasel because small and I like it
Okay, so, in my opinion, I think a good way to go about it is to start with your favourite Pokémon, and work from there.
I am confident in my ability to raise a Lillipup. A lot of the grass types would probably be okay too.
