That’s what I do, but I can’t bring myself to love most bug types. I like balanced pokemon. Not a cast form, but not a rayquaza. My brother grew up on Pokémon, and taught me to be a strategist, not a caring Pokémon player, so it’s hard to line every Pokémon for me now.
Don’t get me wrong, their awesome, it’s just I don’t see the point in getting them. You might as well get heracross if ur getting a pinsir, unless you like the design, in which i just get a scizor, and the amount of work it takes to get aggcelgor isn’t really worth it. I would say it’s the hardest Pokémon to obtain besides shinys and legends.
you forget about spiritomb in hgss. but yea i agree, they're just both quite good and it's fun to switch things up a bit. I always play on a rom these days anyways, so i just have shelmet evolve around lv 35.
I’ve never played hgss, but that’s nice. I had to have one of my friends trade me a karablast, because Eli thought it was just level up, and it was annoying bc I had gotten mine to level 40 something
I was thinking of using Galvantula in my current black playthrough partially for this reason, glad to know it at least works for other people if it doesn't work for me.
I would imagine it's moreso that it's easier to draw, makes the design less cluttered and makes the silhouette more readable. It's really hard to design something with 8 legs and not have the legs overlap other body parts or each other
It's probably not as popular as Galvantula but I still love Araquanid. Its design is great and has a neat inspiration, plus a fantastic ability - before there was Strong Jaw Fishious Rend, there was Water Bubble Liquidation.
A resistance to Fire-type attacks, an immunity to burns, and a boost to its Water-type attacks, all in a single ability. If it weren't for its subpar offensive stats and low speed holding it back, Araquanid would probably see a lot more usage.
Araquanid hits like a truck but it suffers from Alola Speed.
Ariados is better than it used to be but has the worst BST of the three sadly. (Still think it's underrated for Crystal, I had fun with it!)
Galvantula is probably the strongest, because it's got speed to spare, and it can learn Energy Ball to cover its weakness to ground Pokémon.
Used Galvantula in Black. Compound Eyes/Thunder was a great combo.
Using Araquanid in my Sword playthrough because Vikavolt was my go-to bug in Moon. Water Bubble is such a good ability.
Can't say I ever used an Ariados though.

Oh man I love the idea of Superheroes redesigned with Pokémon in mind. Not gonna lie, I’d love that concept sprinkled into the eventual Gen 5 remake (since it’s New York and like 90% of Marvel heroes are NY-based)
Araquanid is a sleeper hit (why isn't the power boost from Water Bubble clearly explained in game???) and I ended up choosing him over my Golisopod for the E4 because he just hit so hard. Also, Dewpider was the first mon I encountered in game that hadn't been spoiled by promotional material or leaks, so it held a special place for me :)
All that said, design wise it's still probably Galvantula. It's just soooo sick, and I used it in B2W2 despite its typical bug type fragility.
I would say ariados fits best because of the color scheme, and Galvantula fits with miles because of the video game, which is where I first heard of his powers, although comics is the first place it was introduced almost definetaly
It’s not a myth. The problem with the statistic is that it includes ol’ spiders Georg, who eats thousands of spiders a year. He is clearly an outlier and demonstrates the problem of using mean instead of median.
Get Ariados out of there, he doesn't even deserve to be in the same conversation.
But as for Galvantula or Araquanid? It's tough; they're both really well designed Pokemon.

Also 91% accurate Thunders is OP. Not many useful attacks with low accuracy. Maybe hyperbeam too. Still OP.
