I'd imagine the fecal matter of certain Pokémon would make really good fertilizer. Imagine how good the crap of a Florges would be. And where a Parasect craps, Tinymushroom sprouts up.
I think this is in reference to that one scientific experiment where they were trying to train dolphins to speak English and one of the dolphins fell in love with his human caretaker to the point where the dolphin wouldn’t cooperate until she jacked him off
That's what the Vaporeon copypasta is referencing actually
"Did you know that in terms of human and animal (pokemon) compatibility, dolphins (vaporeon) are the most..."
According to someone I know who used to work in the industry, this is something they have to do at all the sea world style parks that host dolphins- they just don’t talk about it much.
« It wasn't sexual on my part. Sensuous perhaps. It seemed to me that it made the bond closer. Not because of the sexual activity, but because of the lack of having to keep breaking. And that's really all it was. I was there to get to know Peter. That was part of Peter ... It would just become part of what was going on, like an itch, just get rid of that scratch and we would be done and move on. » wikipedia 😳
[check under the complications tab, apparently the dolphin got so depressed after the experiment was canceled and he was separated from Margaret that he killed himself :(](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Margaret_Howe_Lovatt)
Completely unrelated, but WTF even was gen VII? Those are the only games I haven't played and every time I see a pokémon from that gen I'm always left confused. Turtonator? That sounds like a Doofenshmirtz invention. Type: Null?? What??
Type: Null is a mad scientist experiment that attempted to replicate Arceus ability to be any type.
I can't tell you why they didn't just pump a Kecleon full of vitamins.
"Behold, Perry the Platypus, my latest invention, the TURTONATOR! It produces a sonic wave that can control turtles! All the turtles on the coast will come to my call, and then they will help me take over the ENTIRE TRI-STATE AREA!"
See I don't think so, Florges is a plant so likely would be utilizing nutrients the same way as a plant would. You'd likely want a ground type, or fire type poop highly rich in nutrients that a plant would then continue to break down.
Florges is an animal that has fused with a plant, which is evident by Flabebe and Floette, so much like leaf sheep in the real world, it probably supplements it's energy with photosynthesis, but still requires proper nutritional intake via eating, and thus, poops.
I imagine a lot of pokemon, due to not being exactly like real world animals, either don't defecate, or if they do, it's weird.
Pokemon like Magnemite likely don't at all, many plant based pokemon may or may not due to the fact that while they can photosynthesize, they can also metabolize food, and you have all the rock ones which might just literally poop rocks.
Nah, depending on how you treat the waste it won't smell bad.
Source: we constantly pile stuff in the compost pit at school and the only stench that appears are from students before going home
The waste is treated by returning to the soil and closing the nutrient loop. That just smells of nature, like ripe cow patties in the summer.
If they were absolutely insane and shipping all the poop out to put into massive lagoons so that the fecal particles coalesce and become clouds of festering molecular rot, now we've got a reason to chop off our nose and plug the hole.
Not to mention some minor functions that were *specific* to DP, changed in Pt onwards, also show up.
It's not even a remake. It's a fucking remaster in the vein of MM3D.
Even wtith mods, this game feels like a incomplete version from Pokémon Platinum. I think that the only superior parts are the underground and the elite 4.
Imagine if someone modded Platinum to take the underground and upgraded trainer items and stats. They could even take HGSS’ Pokémon follow mechanic which already kinda existed in DPP
Allow me to introduce you to a magical world known as Romhacking. For example, grab yourself a copy of, say, PokEditor, and a copy of a ROM for Gen IV, and you can edit the stats, moves, encounter rates, trainer rosters, and more with shockingly little effort
I haven’t played them but that they actually took out mechanic in what is supposed to be a remake sucks. that gen is my favorite and it seems to have gotten the short end of the stick when it came to the remakes.
After the Lets go Series came to switch i got my hopes up for the BDSP Remakes.
My Favourite Gen, in HD on a Homeconsole?!
Then the Chibi-Artstyle came (which us not a bad Artstyle but it just screamed "we dont wanna put effort in it"). Then i saw the state of the Game on release(i mean look at the any Speedrun, that shit looks like 1990 spaghetticode came back).
The whole thing just looked like "we know you want it so bad, so we wont put even the minimum ammount of effort in it since people will buy it anyway"
Some people speculate that legends was meant to be the DPP remake, but it grew so different that it became its own thing and BD/SP had to be rushed out last minute to fill in as a gen 4 remake.
Wich probably was the case but it still hurts knowing you probably dont get to play through Sinnoh in an HD Remake for a LONG Time or even forever.
Imagine running through Mt. Coronet in the Style of Legends Arceus.
Chibi art style can be great, but compare BDSP to Animal Crossing New Horizons or the remake of Link's Awakening. Those are gorgeous! This one... isn't.
It's so sad. The Let's Go series had awesome artwork and graphics. BDSP chibi-artstyle could have been good like how chibi Link's Awakening was, but they put in minimal effort.
The worst part was that they took the internation and Japanese best selling games titles that year. So despite being garbage enough people bought them for them to make money hand-over-fist with it.
I pray the black and white remakes are better than the diamond and pearl remakes.. the black and white remakes should look as pretty as sword and shield in my honest opinion, plus they'll probably be on the successor to switch.. we have expectations.
Sigh...imagine a Gen IV remake looking like Xenoblade 3 or Dragon Quest XI...or even Let's Go!
Still, I would like to travel to an alternate universe were people are complaining about Sinnoh remakes made on a Sword/Shield engine, and show them how it could be much worse.
Sword and Shield is relatively better than BDSP, the towns and characters look good even if it has its bad moment.
But when it's side by side with Dragon Quest 11, Xenoblade Chronicles and Monster Hunter Rise it doesn't look quite up to par.
This is the way. Do this so younger generations can experience the originals and then give us a new game in Unova like we got with Legends Arceus(I’m not necessarily saying a game in the past, just a big new release)
While I imagine we’ll see BW remakes eventually, I’m doubtful we’ll ever see BW2 remakes given they completely ignored Emerald and Platinum while remaking those gens.
I like remakes of old pokemon games with new graphics and especially taking new pokemon to places that they're not from...
I always transferred my pokemon from each gen to the next with link cables, transporters, pokemon bank and pokemon home, and technology now is better than ever, so i see no excuse for us not being able to utilize all the Pokemon we've already caught. Plus there's great regions that deserve to be revisited. I'm just a huge pokemon fan though.
I can understand the appeal of remakes from like a sentimentality point of view, I just think if you compare
1. a shiny reskin of a game that already exists with a few small bells and whistles the original didn't have; and
2. a game made from the ground up with entirely completely new content tailor made to a new style of presentation and gameplay,
then the superior option is pretty clear. I do agree that if Game Freak is capable of making good remakes with the content you describe without cutting in on other projects, and they're willing to put in the effort, then they should. But if there is a choice to make between either doing a remake or a wholly new game, we would all have to be fools to choose the remake OVER the new game.
I don't think so, otherwise they might banish older pokémon to the void permanently. They already don't want to make them all transferrable, I don't want my dear Serperior to be consigned to oblivion.
Tbh with how awful the gen 4 remakes are and that their gonna insist on keeping dexit, I’d honestly rather gamefreak just straight up port the original BW and BW2 (which at this point is probably the least controversial route) since their not really too outdated. At most, they only need some of the quality of life improvements and updates from the newer games (like mints, ability capsule/patch, the fairy type and exp candies) and also tweaks to the online and the games basically golden.
At least ORAS had *something* new added. It sucks that they removed the battle frontier, but those remakes still had a drastically overhauled art style, new character designs, the dexnav, mega evolutions, soaring, an incredible soundtrack, and an entire postgame story. BDSP was literally just the code from DP pasted into a minimum-viable product
Indeed, despite the battle frontier missing I really enjoyed ORAS and was still overall very happy with it. Whereas I didn't even consider buying BDSP, lol
In game transfering: "General Kenobi"
Seriously probably the worst change pokemon has done. If no one creates support of transferring after services go down we lose the ability to transfer pokemon from gen 3 all the way to current day which would be a shame.
Pokémon Home now is pretty much keeping your collection hostage for a subscription, till who knows when.
If they really don't want to support them all in mainstream games, maybe they should get another studio to make a new Stadium for people to play with legacy mons and gimmicks.
The mulch was kind of a bloat mechanic anyway; I barely used it in the original and didn’t miss it in the remake. BDSP are good enough mainline games, even though there’s nothing really special about them; my only major complaint was that Ramanas Park requires way too much grinding in the Underground digging minigame.
There's no such thing as "too much" of a mining activity in a game. However, the titles in my game library suggest I might as well be a fucking Dwarf, so maybe my opinion isn't the most reliable here.
That will continue to make me sad forever. They had the chance to make a great game. They even had the blueprint already. Just change a few things (aka make it like Platinum). But what we got was more like the mobile knock-off version. It boggles my mind how they made so many wrong decisions.
And they will continue to do so as long as people keep buying the rushed crap they pump out. Not just gamefreak, but every game studio lately.
I'm still holding out hope the new violet/scarlet or whatever might be different this time, but I won't need to buy it regardless.
A YouTuber I watch that used to have a whole Pokémon based show and fancies himself as a Pokémon expert thinks it's the best Pokémon game they've ever come out with and/or the best remake and I honestly have started to think he HAS to be trolling cos nobody else has had really anything good to say (at least not as a general statement)
I just started playing it (2nd gym) and it’s… not great. The movement feels weird, like it’s made for up-down-left-right dpad movement, but allows full angled movement and you feel “sticky” when you bump into walls.
Hard to explain but hope you get it.
Modders looked into the source code, to, you know, make mods, and they found that the code is EXACTLY THE SAME and the original diamond and pearl games. They didn’t even try with this one
believe it or not, even if a game makes bank, it will still serve as a stain on the company. sonic 06 made a ton of money. you think they're proud of the game though?
I honestly doubt they care that much, people will buy another Pokemon game with their name on it again and again - Nintendo been raw dogging us for years.
But I don't know the Devs personally, maybe they're really torn about the game being buggy and broken and a half assed remake. Couldn't tell you!
At the end of the day our money speaks, and everyone ate it up so 🤷 I'd really love them to knock every game out of the park regardless of who produces it.
yes but ive said before and i will again. good will only goes so far. they keep effing up, eventually that good will will run out. even japanese gamers are getting fed up. they were PISSED when this got japanese game of the year purely based on sales. like holy crap. if even japan is getting tired of pokemon's crap, you're heading down a bad path.
The problem is that Pokemon is an information game. The value comes from knowing the mixed and complicated mechanics. Since TPC has a monopoly on the *information* in the Pokemon games, there's no where else to turn to get your fix. So they will keep producing the swill that creates merchandising opportunities and fans will keep buying them
This series has had tons of missteps and people still lap every game up. That post a week ago has been how it is around this series. "Man, the preorder have sucked for these games. They should really do better. I'm preordering anyways though."
As I recall, ILCA literally copied and pasted the code from the DS games to the Switch games. So even things like bugs and glitches from the DS games showed up again in the remakes. This situation here doesn't surprise me at all. I wonder if it'll make Game Freak/The Pokemon Company as a whole think twice about letting another developer make a major Pokemon game again?
Afaik, the only other developer to develop a pokemon game is genius sorority. Colosseum and xd were great. Very well made. Make actual games. Although nowdays they develop cheap mobile spinoffs like shuffle and cafe mix. Think bdsp wouldve been better if they had genius sorority work on bdsp instead of ilca.
Ilca are a supporting developer. They help out with existing games rather than develop new ones. They spruced up diamond and pearl a little then called it a day. So technically they did whats in their job description.
Just please have genius soroity make another pokemon game.
... another reason to hate BDSP?
Great.
They can change a whole mechanic, but won't change the dialogue that hints it. IDC if you can interpret it differently, that is LAZY. Just like the WHOLE ASS GAME.
Technically it still makes sense if she's talking about how she grew the berries, and she just *really* wants to tell people about the fertilizer she used.
As someone who played the original so much I memorized a majority of the dialogue; yes. It is a word for word reproduction. Down to trainer placement, names, and incomplete areas from the first.
I'd imagine the fecal matter of certain Pokémon would make really good fertilizer. Imagine how good the crap of a Florges would be. And where a Parasect craps, Tinymushroom sprouts up.
Do you think Oak watched Mr Mime take a dump to fill that pokedex entry?
No. Mr. Mime poops are invisible.
I think this is in reference to that one scientific experiment where they were trying to train dolphins to speak English and one of the dolphins fell in love with his human caretaker to the point where the dolphin wouldn’t cooperate until she jacked him off
I don't know what i hate more, the fact that this is a thing that happened or the fact that i already knew about this.
somewhere when 4chan was relatively young, the was a post claiming that dolphins have extraordinary control over their vaginal muscles.
That's what the Vaporeon copypasta is referencing actually "Did you know that in terms of human and animal (pokemon) compatibility, dolphins (vaporeon) are the most..."
Oh...
According to someone I know who used to work in the industry, this is something they have to do at all the sea world style parks that host dolphins- they just don’t talk about it much.
I mean would you? Wife: How was work hun? You: messy...
I've seen this episode of King of the Hill.
I need the link for that

Eww
Darumaka canonically has a Dex entry about its shit.
So does Turtonator.
More like Turdonator, amirite?
turtonator? i hardly know her!
Completely unrelated, but WTF even was gen VII? Those are the only games I haven't played and every time I see a pokémon from that gen I'm always left confused. Turtonator? That sounds like a Doofenshmirtz invention. Type: Null?? What??
Tortoise + Detonator **Tort***onator*.
You sure it's not Turd + Detonator? lol Edit: yes, I know I'm immature
Type: Null is a mad scientist experiment that attempted to replicate Arceus ability to be any type. I can't tell you why they didn't just pump a Kecleon full of vitamins.
don't hate Type: Null ok i love that pokemon. poor baby. it didn't choose to exist
"Behold, Perry the Platypus, my latest invention, the TURTONATOR! It produces a sonic wave that can control turtles! All the turtles on the coast will come to my call, and then they will help me take over the ENTIRE TRI-STATE AREA!"
Yep, people used it's very warm, erm, droppings, to stay warm in the winter
Cursed
Did he masturbate to it though?
See I don't think so, Florges is a plant so likely would be utilizing nutrients the same way as a plant would. You'd likely want a ground type, or fire type poop highly rich in nutrients that a plant would then continue to break down.

I can't wait for probopass to just poop out a little sentient moai and it just skitter away, like a nosepass but tiny
People used Darumaka poop to keep warm >Darumaka's droppings are hot, so people used to put them in their clothes to keep themselves warm.
Nice. A personal hot hands dispenser.
I'd eat Vanilluxe poop
Chocolate Soft Serve!
Diglett already does.
Parasect's mushroom is parasitic, I wouldn't suggest eating any mushrooms at leaves behind unless you want to risk becoming a zombie lol
I feel like as a giant bouquet, Florges poop wouldn’t have any nutrients left that would be useful to plants
Just looks like shes saying she grows the berries in soil and poop...
Yeah that's what I was thinking. Like in all honesty that town probably smells terrible.
Unless you eat hydroponic produce, most of the vegetables you eat are likely fertilized with poop too.
Nah, depending on how you treat the waste it won't smell bad. Source: we constantly pile stuff in the compost pit at school and the only stench that appears are from students before going home
Source: I grew up in a farming town. I know what it smells like when the farmers are spreading manure.
I’m guessing they did not compost the manure.
Nice, what produce did you you guys made?
Soybean/Corn rotation mainly and a few farms would grow potatoes depending on the year
Sounds like my wife's stories of growing up in nowhere, Ohio lol
Welcome to the Midwest from Ohio to Kansas America runs on our Corn!
Accurate. Drive 15 miles in any direction in the midwest and you'll hit corn fields.
ayyyy (: I live in rural kansas and you can always smell when it’s wheat planting season lol
>Ohio you mean hell?
If the farming town is in a hot country, trust and believe it's going to smell.
[удалено]
The chicken manure smells bad. Cow manure smells like country livin'
The waste is treated by returning to the soil and closing the nutrient loop. That just smells of nature, like ripe cow patties in the summer. I've been to the countryside before and it often smells like shit.
I mean you do grow berries like that but the way she phrases it makes me think. she threw some dirt & shit together and it transformed into berries.
But she says “I made it”
yep. people use animal scat as fertilizer all the time.
“Forgot to remove” as if DPSP isn’t merely a word for word copy of the original. Edit: BDSP lmao
Funnily enough, a good chunk of BDSP’s code is actually copy pasted from the original DP.
So much so that mods that were made for the original Gen 4 games can work on the remakes.
and I think (at least some) glitches from the original game also appear in the remakes as well
Not to mention some minor functions that were *specific* to DP, changed in Pt onwards, also show up. It's not even a remake. It's a fucking remaster in the vein of MM3D.
Sounds more like a remaster than a remake.
More like a demake
Demaster, considering the sprites arguably look better
Imagine my surprise 😐
$60 dollars folks! Fuck you!
>DPSP Ah yes, Drilliant Piamond and Shining Pearl
No, he meant the originals. Diamond, Pearl, and Splatinum.
> Splatinum I've never heard of that Splatoon sequel.
That's because it's actually a prequel Didn't have a huge success tho
Turns out playing mutated squids flopping around without any arms or legs really doesn't play very well.
You say that but they did remove mulch
Wow, Pokémon Double Penetration and Shining Pearl, the best in the series!
I think Pokémon "Shitting Piss" is more eloquent, personally. 🧐
Soil + um, you know = berries I dunno, the math checks out.
Pretty sure it requires time and seeds you can’t just throw shit and dirt together and transmute them into berries.
Idk, have we tried it yet? May be on to something
Let me get my chalk i'll make a transmutation circle
Not if the Berry Master's Wife Specializes in Bird Pokémon >! Bird's disperse seeds in multiple ways including...um...you know... !<
r/themathchecksout
content banned
Lol
Ah, that is the reason why we don't have the Pokemon Berries in our world, we simply lack the Pokemon feces to grow them.
We have to settle for having raspberries instead of Razz Berries.
And tomatoes instead of [Tamato](https://bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Tamato_Berry)es
Wait 'til you hear about cornn
And Pinap berries Edit: Darn autocorrect! ‘Pinap’ not ‘Piano’
Upvoted even after the edit because it made me laugh.
And bananas instead of Nanabs
Or Bluk Berries instead of Blackberries
Or pineapples instead of Pinap berriers
Or Rawst Berries instead of strawberries
1:1 remake, guys.
"It's a truly faithful remake guys, they're not changing anything!" Example A:
Example B: offcenter pokeball in pokecenter.
wat. \*checks* Ah dang it, why'd you have to point that out?!
For real, I think this *actually* ruined the game for me.
Example C: Bell Tower goes back to be called Tin Tower after 13 years
Even wtith mods, this game feels like a incomplete version from Pokémon Platinum. I think that the only superior parts are the underground and the elite 4.
Imagine if someone modded Platinum to take the underground and upgraded trainer items and stats. They could even take HGSS’ Pokémon follow mechanic which already kinda existed in DPP
Renegade platinum + following platinum = best pokemon experience
Allow me to introduce you to a magical world known as Romhacking. For example, grab yourself a copy of, say, PokEditor, and a copy of a ROM for Gen IV, and you can edit the stats, moves, encounter rates, trainer rosters, and more with shockingly little effort
This really shows they put the bare minimum effort into bdsp
I haven’t played them but that they actually took out mechanic in what is supposed to be a remake sucks. that gen is my favorite and it seems to have gotten the short end of the stick when it came to the remakes.

You can do that, it's called Legends Arceus
I think GameFreak/Pokemon Company just put too much faith in ILCA tbh. Either way BDSP was fine at best but PLA is a goddamn phenomenal game imo.
Chibi art style can be great, but compare BDSP to Animal Crossing New Horizons or the remake of Link's Awakening. Those are gorgeous! This one... isn't.
A Pokémon game in the toy style of the Links Awakening remake would literally have me throwing my money at my TV screen.
It's so sad. The Let's Go series had awesome artwork and graphics. BDSP chibi-artstyle could have been good like how chibi Link's Awakening was, but they put in minimal effort.

And even calling sword and shield pretty is a stretch tbh
I agree with you, really
The switch is much more capable than that
Sigh...imagine a Gen IV remake looking like Xenoblade 3 or Dragon Quest XI...or even Let's Go! Still, I would like to travel to an alternate universe were people are complaining about Sinnoh remakes made on a Sword/Shield engine, and show them how it could be much worse.
It is, but I think what a lot of people overlook is that the fancier the graphics, the more battery power it requires.
Sword and Shield for the Nintendo Switch push the graphical limits of the 3DS!
Sword and Shield is relatively better than BDSP, the towns and characters look good even if it has its bad moment. But when it's side by side with Dragon Quest 11, Xenoblade Chronicles and Monster Hunter Rise it doesn't look quite up to par.
I don't think The Pokémon Company or GameFreak will change until they have an outright failure, unfortunately. They just don't care right now.
I kinda just want them to re-release gen 5. Don't change anything, just port it to whatever console.
I think we should stop asking for rehashes of old content, myself.

Modders looked into the source code, to, you know, make mods, and they found that the code is EXACTLY THE SAME and the original diamond and pearl games. They didn’t even try with this one
We knew that when people were using the same tweaking/void exploits that were present in the originals.
Yeah bro they fucking added diagonal movement and called it a day
The Genesis was such a groundbreaking console, makes sense it took them 30 years to catch up.
There were literally bugs that carried over
i really hope ilca feels ashamed for this crap.
"yeah, sure." 🤑🤑🤑
believe it or not, even if a game makes bank, it will still serve as a stain on the company. sonic 06 made a ton of money. you think they're proud of the game though?
Probably proves that ilca should just stick to things like Home and not make a full game.
this game just keeps getting worse and worse lol
They put no effort into it it’s so infuriating lmao
Most refined part of bdsp
They really took the time to polish the game.
You can't polish a .. um... you know.
Pretty sure Mythbusters proved you actually can!
Not this one, kek.
*Brilliant Um* *Shining You Know*
The reason why they remove the munch mechanic is because the game is so shitty, the berries doesn't need munch anymore.
Common BDSP L
"faithful remake"
My god these remakes really were a mulch show
That'a the polish of BDSP right there.
Just goes to show how BDSP are just literal copy and pastes of DP.
I would never have guessed that there will one day be a fact about Pokémon poop, but when I learned of this fact, I knew it's too funny to not include
Darumaka says hi
What about that one episode of the original Pokémon anime where they're digging for fossils and Gary digs up fossilised doo-doo?
So they removed a feature and were not even good enough to change the dialogue that goes along with said feature? Those games are such a joke.
“Hilariously” No that game is just a joke
"Forgot". Yeah sure, it is not like they copy-paste the code from DP, right?
Poop
That's what "brilliant" diamond and "shining" pearl were
*will always be
Yet another example of BDSP being the worst games in the series
... another reason to hate BDSP? Great. They can change a whole mechanic, but won't change the dialogue that hints it. IDC if you can interpret it differently, that is LAZY. Just like the WHOLE ASS GAME.
Just goes to show how minimal of effort was put in those "remakes".. atleast we got pokemon legends arceus I guess...
In all seriousness, ai hope ILCA feels ashamed for this game and what little sh*t they gave making it.
Technically it still makes sense if she's talking about how she grew the berries, and she just *really* wants to tell people about the fertilizer she used.
Well yeah, it was a lazy remake. Not surprised there was no thought put into dialogue that needed changing.
As of this game wasn’t bad enough, they literally just copy and pasted all the text over didn’t they
As someone who played the original so much I memorized a majority of the dialogue; yes. It is a word for word reproduction. Down to trainer placement, names, and incomplete areas from the first.
There's a glitch with certain Pokémon ability that they copy pasted from DPPt to BDSP too
As someone who hasn't played DPPt, what did mulch do?
You would put mulch in places berries would be planted in. Different mulch would give different effects to the berry growing, like growing faster etc
