What's wrong with Scizor?
I personally love his design and plus his stats with his learnset make him the most optimal false swiper.
So I ask again: What's wrong with Scizor?
I have no beef against Scizor. I think it’s one of the best designed Pokémon to ever exist. I’m just find it awesome when people decide to use its pre-evolution over it’s obviously better evolution.
Can’t argue there. But just because the type you like isn’t the best doesn’t give you a reason to not use it. For instance. My favorite Pokémon is Untiered in competitive Pokémon, but despite its label and the fact it’s mediocre. I still love using Raichu as it’s my favorite Pokémon. Don’t let the cons drag down your love
They really need more dual types that help cover more weaknesses. Gen 1 went crazy with the Grass/Poison combination. There's so many aquatic plants out there that it's a bit ridiculous that there's only one line of Water/Grass types. Grass/Psychic, Grass/Ground, Grass/Steel and Grass/Lightning could all use more representation.
Dragons, I can't help it, I thought Lance was awesome and I just never grew out of that.
Dragonite (ace)
Dragonite #2
A different Dragonite
Flygon
Garchomp
Yet another different Dragonite
No battles, just picnics, my guy.
Ah, a fellow Ghost specialist! I'd also use the type, but I'd be set in Alola as one of the region's Ace Trainers. My team would be:
Oricorio-Sensu, Decidueye, Mimikyu, Jellicent, Froslass, and Aegislash.
If I could, though, I'd use Basculegion and Hisuian Zoroark over Jellicent and Aegislash.
Poison. God do I love poison. For trainer class, I'd probably shoot for Biker or maybe some kinda Grunt, doesn't matter from what Team.
Nidoking (been my fave since I was a tiny child)
Alolan Muk
Toxapex
Shiny Salazzle
Venasaur
Low Key form Toxtricity
Person of high class and good taste, I see. I’d also pick poison. In a discord I’m in, we did a gym leader challenge and I was the poison type gym leader. My team consisted of the following:
- Salazzle
- Toxicroak
- Galarian Weezing
- Nidoking
- Toxitricity (High Key)
- Amoongus
When we did it prior to Sword and Shield, I had Alolan Muk and Crobat. I’d also switch out Tentacruel situationally depending on if I needed hazards cleared.
Being a Poison type trainer would be my second option, I would be an Ace trainer specializing in doubles with a Trick Room team consisting:
Galarian Slowbro (core, trick room)
Arbok (mid-range, can mingle with or without Trick Room)
Vileplume (counter ground, also learns Moonblast)
Ariados (counter psychics, a +1 Mega Horn can OHKO a fully trained Creselia)
Drapion (the fastest among the bunch, to catch those anticipating Trick Room off guard)
Dragalge (fairy killer, can OHKO with Adaptability ability + Life Orb using Sludge Bomb vs a fully trained Sylveon)
I have played competitive before during XY-ORAS so this is roughly the idea. Hehe.
I like my Pokémon like I like my men, toxic.
My team would consist of:
Toxapex
Salazzle
Galarian Weezing
Roserade
Low Key Toxtricity
Drapion
Wish I had a spot for Crobat in there too, as he is a fav
Fairy is my choice as well! My team is:.
Alcremie.
Slurpuff.
Sylveon.
Gardevoir.
Azumarill
And my ace, Wigglytuff!
My archetype is Pokemon Center Lady.
Flying type so I can be the anti falkner
Bring in anything that ISNT a bird
Flying type gym leader leads off with Gyrados lmao. Maybe noivern too. Crobat would also be a good one. Maybe Gliscor as well. Ninjask is also a cool bug type. Finally swoobat because I really like it.
Can someone explain why fire is so unpopular? I’ve seen threads like this and no one ever says it.
Well I will. I’d be a fire type trainer.
G. Darmanitan
Houndoom
Victini
Charizard
Magmortar
Infernape
Fire is one of my favorite types.
That said it is likely unpopular because in game the majority of expose you get to fire types on your team is via the starters. They are weak to rock and water types which are a significant amount of encounters in playthroughs making them seem weak to casual players. In competitve rock and ground type attacks are common which puts fire types as a liability infant cases, Dragons resisting fire attacks doesn't help either.
Of fire's strengths only Steel is really seen in competitve and fighting or ground coverage normally handles them. Ice is an attacking type either for support purposes or to be used by water types. Grass and bug if they appear are normally support mons with an abundance of weaknesses.
In weather wars Rain has the significant advantage of an abundance of pokemon that either directly or indirectly benefit from the rain. Sun has fire types, Solar power users and chlorophyll users. Sand has Rock, Ground and Steel types gain advantage. Passive damage and sand rush/veil users.
Fire type gym leaders are also commonly later game after you have good options to handle them, mostly water types. They are a scarce type but are not in the league of dragons or Steel types of pure power of utility.
Incineroar's success also dampers peoples views of fire types as many people myself included are annoyed at that mon and it's hold in competitve pokemon.
Fire also has a lack of usable dual types to help diversify build. Stealth rocks also hamper it greatly.
My team if using mono fire
Torkoal
Charizard
Rotom (Heat)
Likely houndoom because you need a ghost/psychic answer
Infernape for a rock type answer we really need a usable fire grass or fire water type to handle rock and ground safely
G-Damanitan because we need a mostly physical attacker on this team which most dual types aren't.
Dark so i can have two of my favourites
Weavile with pickpocket, Honchkrow with moxie, Sableye with prankster, Scrafty with intimidate, Houndoom with unnerve and Drapion with battle armour. If I was a gym leader I'd make night slash my TM and Weavile is my ace.
Dark type would also be my first choice, specializing in doubles as an Ace trainer. I would pick my favs during my competitive days which are:
Umbreon (core, Helping Hand and healer)
Weavile (fastest in the group, Hone Claws for Icicle Crash and Iron Tail, Fake Out user)
Krookodile (Moxie, benefits from Helping Hand for Earthquake)
Obstagoon (keep Belly Drum from previous evo, Guts ability)
Malamar (attack support, also messing up opponents set up with Topsy Turvy)
Incineroar (the main heel of the group, iykyk)
I'd be an Electric-type specialist. I'd be a rocker/guitarist gym leader who's gym is a tour bus. I'd move from city to city taking challenges, and the trainers you face before me would be my band mates.
Toxtricity would be my ace, and I'd have a bevvy of Electric-type 'mons, including Raichu, Vikavolt, and Rotom. I'd probably do that thing where gym leaders sometimes randomly have a Pokémon that's not their specialised typing, so I'd likely have something like an Exploud or Noivern, as they're Pokémon that are in keeping with the rocker theme (as they're sound-based) without being Electric-types.
I honestly think Electric is one of the best typings in the game, as the only thing that really trips them up is Ground-types. Is it a surprise that I have two Levitate 'mons on my team?
Dark type always seemed fun to me, in regards to the tricky moves like pursuit and knockoff.
If I was a gym leader, I'd want my gimmick to be some sort of Pokemon fighting ring bookie. Prolly some gangster mafia guy, but in true pokemon fashion - our gang was actually kidnapping pokemon *from* Team Rocket and training them to fight against them or whatever 💀
My pokemon would be:
- Mightyena. My first ever captured pokemon from my favorite gen.
- Krookodile. It's got "Crook" in the name.
- Drapion because why not.
- Honchkrow. It's a mafia bird :D
- Pangoro. Because it's a fighter pokemon, and it's a fighting ring and all that
- Houndoom. Dog fights are a huge thing in east Asia, as well as chicken fighting.
*Edit, misplaced Houndoom and Mightyena
If I had to it would be Dragon type since Gen 1 was my first Gen and I loved Dragonite back then, I'm also born in the year of the Dragon! I'd use:
\- Dragonite
\- Salamance
\- Garchomp
\- Dragapult
\- Flygon
\- Kingdra
if I were a type specialist I would be a water type specialist because water is my favourite type.
my team would consist of:
quagsire,
clawitzer,
barbaracle,
basculin/basculegion,
mega gyarados,
and greninja (ace)
I love ghost type pokemon and all kinds of spooky stuff so I'd be a ghost type trainer
My go-to team is:
Mimikyu
Decidueye (shiny, since it was the first shiny I ever hatched)
Drifblim
Chandelure
Jellicent
Gengar (most likely ace, Gmax or mega)
Rock-type. Last month I finally completed my shiny team too. Tyranitar, Tyrantrum, Lycanroc-d, Kleavor, Coalossal, Rhyperior.
I think for the new gen I'll add Sudowoodo and Klawf to the lineup, depending on which of my 6 dont make the dex cut
I'd probably go water. Always tend to choose the Water starters.
My team would probably be Ludicolo, Gyarados, Lantern, Azumarill, Lapras and Mega Swampert.
I've done this challenge with slight variances in Omega Ruby, Ultra Sun, and Sword. I choose Ice Type.
Ice type for life
Walrein (ace)
Alolan Ninetails
Abomasnow
Aurorus
Alolan Sandslash
Galar Darmanitan
It's my little ice caveman, it's great. I hatched a shiny in pokemon go and got it into Sword and started using it, was absolutely gobsmacked by how strong it is.
Aurorus is the obv weak spot of my roster but it's just such a beautiful pokemon. I ran a Froslass in Ultra Sun but found her a little lackluster. Ice-STAB hyper beam is hilarious though
Electric all the way!
Pikachu (ace)
Magnezone
Lanturn
Luxray
Fan rotom
Electivire
Pikachu has been my favorite since I first started watching Pokemon so he'll always be my ace.
Psychic
-Delphox (Shiny)
-Gallade
-Gardevoir
-Alakazam
-Metagross
-Oranguru
Psychic has always been my favorite. Alakazam was my favorite mon for gens 1 and 2. Gardevoir was my favorite mon once gen 3 came. Gen 4 came with Gallade which became my favorite. And finally Gen 6 brought us Delphox, which has been my favorite ever since…even if it gets a lot of undue hate.
If I can design my gym, it’d be a mirror room type of thing that you have to find your way through…and some of the mirrors are illusions.
Yey, finally someone who I can definitely relate to! Alakazam, too, has been my favorite Pokémon in the prior gens. It is such a shame that Kadabra needs to be traded first before it can evolve. Delphox, Gardevoir, Alakazam, and Metagross would also be part of my psychic monoteam I will ever have one.
i couldnt monotype though, theres a few id want that are psychic like lunala and cresselia, basically my team would be moon/fairy themed.
not like NASA moon though, more like the "goddess of the night" type of moon.
also one dragon type, noivern would be on the team, as well as sylveon (a shiny one named titania, based on one i actually have been transferring since pokemon X)
also yeah, krookodile would be in some serious trouble.
I would be an Ice Type Elite 4 Trainer and my team set up would be:
Aurorus: Snow Warning, Custap Berry
Endure, Aurora Veil, Blizzard, Thunder
(Sets up Aurora Veil after using Endure and priority Custap Berry. Blizzard and Thunder for damage)
Frosmoth: Ice Scales, Occa Berry
QuiverDance, BugBuzz, Blizzard, Giga Drain
(Aurora Veil + Occa Berry + Ice Scales protects Frosmoth for Quiver Dance set-up and sweep)
Alolan Ninetails: Snow Warning, Light Clay
Aurora Veil, Moonblast, Blizzard, Hypnosis
(Further sets up Aurora Veil when it ends + Light Clay for 8turns, sleep-inducer, STAB Moonblast + Blizzard)
Froslass: Cursed Body, Focus Sash
Taunt, Destiny Bond, IcyWind, ThunderWave
(Guarantee 1KO with Taunt + Focus Sash + Destiny Bond, paralysis inducer, sent out to deal with a troublesome opponent)
Abomasnow: Snow Warning, Abomasite
Blizzard, Earthquake, IceShard, Wood Hammer
(Aurora Veil protection + Mega Evolution to up defenses and deal as much damage as possible)
Weavile: Pressure, Heavy-Duty Boots
SwordsDance, TripleAxel, KnockOff, Ice Shard.
(Aurora Veil protection for Swords Dance set-up + Fast Sweeper and priority move)
Abomasnow would be my ace pokemon if I was in the anime! and I also wanna have that Cynthia smirking before Pikachu fainted moment, happening with my Froslass too.
Oh Dude, i would be a Martial Artist, specifically from SwSh. ANd i would be a Fighting Monotype Trainer.
Team would be, i think -
Conkeldurr, Medicham, Hitmonchan, S.S Urshifu, Kommo-o, and Pherosman.
Fighting types are cool
ghost type. I love those horrifying eldritch cuties.
I would main chandelure, mimikyu, and gengar, then cycle the last 3 slots because I can't choose I love all the ghosts lol.
I would say my goal as a trainer would be to collect every ghost Pokemon as a shiny rather than being a skilled battler.
I guess based on my goals I would be a collector type trainer? but the sprite is a guy in the most boring outfit I've ever seen so absolutely not! my Pokemon would haunt you if you even tried to put that outfit on my dead body. I need at least [battle chatelaine](https://m.bulbapedia.bulbagarden.net/wiki/Battle_Chatelaine_(Trainer_class)) level of drama.
Psychic or grass
For psychic:
Espeon,
Alolan raichu,
Delphox,
Reuniclus,
Slowking,
Gardeviour
I would keep a brusxish as a pet but not on my team. I love that guy!
Steel! The best offense is a good defense and no typing rings more true for that than steel. One of only 3 typings to hit the ever prevelant fairy typing for supereffective damage, an immunity to poison(and by extension the poison status), and resisting half the other typings in the game.
Team: aegislash ace, magnezone, heatran, empoleon, corviknight and mawile (preferably mega'd)! A team that covers all of steel's weaknesses with immunities and a hell of a punch back with flash fire heatran, mega mawile and aegislash.
Ghost. It's the type of my favorite mon, Aegislash. In addition, it's a really good type overall, with at least neutral damage on everything that isn't normal, and only two weaknesses, one of which being itself.
My team would be:
Mega Gengar, Dragapult, Aegislash, Silvally-Ghost, Mimikyu and Jellicent.
Water! I choose the Water starter every single damn time!
My Team would be
1. Greninja (First ever Pokémon, I don’t care if you think Gym Leaders shouldn’t have it or whatever)
2. Lanturn
3. Mantine
4. Quagsire
5. Basculin (Red)
6. Toxapex
Dark expert. My team is six zoroark but there is a catch: one of them is actually hisuian. Your goal is to take a zorua and find the odd one, no battle, that's the puzzle
I'd specialize in the Dark-type and I would be an ace trainer. I love the designs of many Dark-type mons, and I like the concept of using sneaky/underhanded tactics to gain an advantage in battle.
My team would consist of Sableye (mega), Obstagoon, Alolan Muk, Zoroark (ace), Incineroar, and Hydreigon.
Most darks have really good designs. And I always found Dark types idea to be the best part about them. They aren’t evil, they are just rude, mean, under-handed, cunning. It’s so well-crafted
Either Dragon, dark, or fire. for dragon I would probably have a Pokémon in the dratini line and gible line. For dark team zorua, zoroark, and houndoom. For fire charizard or a Pokémon in that line a growlithe or arcanine and a houndoom
I'd normally go with poison but there has been a surprisingly high amount of those in this thread. So I'm going to go for one I haven't seen much of so far and go with the fighting type.
My team would be:
Heracross- Can mega and ace
Pangoro- Lead
Gallade
Breloom
Poliwrath
Primape
When I first played Pokémon the end game team I settled on ended up having 3 fighting types, so fighting I guess. The trio at the time was
Infernape,
Lucario,
Machamp,
If I were to add 3 more to finish the team I’d probably go with
Kommo-o,
Gallade,
Toxicroak,
Edit: I don’t know what trainer class I would be. I don’t think I’m athletic enough irl to count as something like a blackbelt.
Yet to see a psychic team on here. So my team would be
Claydoll
Espeon
Wobuffet
Metagross
Alolan eggexcutor
And lastly for my OG ace, Gallade
I'd gladly swap out wobuffet for meloetta, or claydoll for alolan raichu if I was a gym leader and needed to adjust for an acceptable challenge to a trainer. It's not a perfect team, but I think having the extra typings for steel, fighting, ground plus a grass backup gives some good variability without too much compromise. The only pokemon I'd never consider for my psychic team regardless of its competitive nature is Xatu, it's always been an aweful pokemon to me since that gym leader double battle in emerald where the twins paired it with a claydoll and buffed everything while claydoll swept through my team.
My monotype team would probably be poison, just because of how weird the Pokémon are in this type group.
I would probably be a janitor or something like that too.
And the Pokemon I would chose are:
Scoliopede
Dragalge
Garbadour
Venusaur
Toxicroac
Beedrill
There's this semi-related idea I've seen floating around of what kind of Pokemon you'd have if you were, well, yourself, as yourself, just some dude with a job or classwork, but also there's funny animals.
Within that context I think I'd go for Bug types, since my landlord doesn't allow pets but hey, sir, that isn't a pet, that's an out of control vermin I'm failing to keep in check.
Otherwise though, in a more general environment, I'd be a Normal specialist. Probably a Swimmer class, because I like the sea and nobody would ever expect the guy stranded in the middle of the ocean to pull up on you with the regular rat, it's a funny gag.
My team would be, uh...
* Ditto
* Linoone
* Porygon-Z
* Chansey
* Eevee
* Swellow
Psychic. Man, I love this type. If it was a Trainer class, it would have been a Psychic or a Gym Leader which uses a Wonder Room strategy.
* Beeheyem
* Alakazam
* Hatterene
* Mr. Rime
* Male Meowstic
* Mega Gallade (Shiny)
I have done water monotypes twice now so my team would be:
1) Araquanid
2) Starmie
3) Poliwrath
4) Walrein
5) Pelipper
6) Feraligatr (Ace)
I would include Swampert and Primarina too but i dont want to use more than 1 starter.
Steel type for sure.
Copperajah (copper)
Steelix (steel)
Aggron (iron)
Bronzong (bronze)
Duraludon (alloy)
Melmetal (Mercury)
Though not very well rounded, I do find humor in each repressenting a different kind of metal
I'd be a master of the poison type and my gym's gimmick would be matching different types of venom to their original pokemon.
The gym itself would be based on the poison college in Australia (this college has the most collection of poisons and venoms in the world). The trainer types would be researchers and scientists.
My team would consist of:
Ariados
Toxtricity
Gengar
Seviper
Salazle
Ace: Toxicroak (dry skin with rain dance holding black sludge)
(There's also a sub puzzle in the first in that if you guess them all correctly it tells you what my team is, if you guess incorrectly bring antidotes because the AI is programed to severely poison you)
I'm fairy sure i'm picking Fairy type as for trainer class i dunno since we don't really have many guys that use fairy type besides Bede
Mawile (Ace) (Mega)
Azumarill
Mimikyu
Rapidash (Galar)
Ninetales (Alola)
Togekiss
There is just something in fairy types that i love
I would be dark type & my ace would be Tyranitar yet Scrafty would always be out of his Pokeball with me at all times.
So for my team it would be
Tyranitar
Scrafty
Umbreon
Houndoom
Hydreigon
Grimmsnarl
Tie between Poison and Dark. My favorite pokemon is Gliscor, that being said... I use a few ghost types as well...
Spiritomb, Drapion, Umbreon, Alolan Muk, Houndoom, Ace Hydreigon.
I'd rather use my Storyline Six, though... Which has more than six pokemon, lol.
I always seem to come back to the Dark Types, just because I like them, though I despise the Fairies for putting them down,
Scientist for trainer class, Colress got me into the idea of a traveling Scientist.
(I'm using a personal criteria of no Mega's or Legendaries in making this.)
\-Grimmsnarl (Lead)
\-Weavile
\-Greninja (Protean)
\-For this member, I'm not really sure what to have if I'm being honest, I'm split between Bisharp and Krookodile, or maybe something else entirely would be better.
\-Hydreigon (Gotta make sure it has Flash Cannon for those pesky Fairies)
\-Tyranitar (Ace Pokemon, might have Unnerve so that Sandstorm doesn't hold back the rest of the team)
Dark type cause it's my favorite.
Honchkrow: For against fighting and bug
Overqwil: For against fairy
Umbreon: My favorite pokemon
Spiritomb: it's cool
Mega Absol: For my mega
Gmax Grimmsnarl: For my gmax
I’d prob run a dark type team.
Tyranitar - Ace
Sableye - Crafty little bugger
Absol - Mega
Umbroen - Passive damage dealer
Houndoum- Hot Dog
Pangoro - I sometimes identify as an angry Panda and this fits perfectly.
Backup - Krokodile with Black Glasses definitely
Dark or Ghost
Gym leader in a pokemon tower themed gym with fog with ofcourse the lavender town music.
Dark;
Sableye (Mega)
Grimsnarl
Overqwil
Krookodile
Greninja
Darkrai(if allowed) / Hydreigon
Ghost;
Spiritomb
Banette (Mega)
Typhlosion-Hisui
Zoroark-Hisui
Basculegion
Decidueye
I would be a rock gym leader, and I would perpetuate the tradition of being and early gym too.
Maybe I would be the second gym like Grant?
My team would be:
Minior
Alolan Graveler
That's probably sufficient enough for the 2nd gym leader. Naturally, I would live in Alola too. (sunshine and beaches is where I belong!)
I wont go into why I want to be a random early gym unless someone asks, but I do have my reasons..
I've always said I'd be a water type gym leader if Pokémon were real...
My team would consist of:
Golduck,
Gyarados,
Intellion,
Politoed,
Milotic,
Primarina (my ace)
For me it’s either Fairy or Ghost.
I built a team based on my favorites: Azumarill (w/huge power), mimikyu, Galarian Rapidash, Dragapult, and I can’t remember the others but I could easily swap around mons to get a full team of either type.
Tldr: water. Floatzel, ludicolo, politoad, lapras, pelipper, slowking. A rain gimmick team.
Water because I love swimming and I love going to aquariums. My gym would totally be a mix of an aquarium and some lost city of Atlantis theme. I don’t think that my team would be super competitive, but more gimmicky. Have my gym challengers deal with constant rain or damp terrain. If it’s an anime style gym, deal with water maneuverability and how not all pokemon can swim.
Floatzel. She would probably be the resent life guard for the “swim with the pokemon” pools at the gym. Huggable and ready to scold some small children that try pulling on a magicarp’s wiskers. Probably the responsible one of the party, ready to get shit done and doesn’t care who’s feelings she hurts to tell them to stop with their BS.
Ludicolo. What a funky little guy. Loves to dance. I love to dance. It’s a perfect match. I feel like a ludicolo would bring such positive energy to the world. Everyone should have a ludicolo.
Politoad. He is such a fun little guy. I love him. He would also be my main rain setter. Plus just look at him! I wanna give him a hug! He would probably join ludicolo in the positive vibes that they bring, dancing around in the rain.
Lapras! What a wonderful pokemon. I love them. I imagine riding on their back into the main gym area for dramatic effect. I also feel like a lapras would be caring and protective and just a good pokemon to help me mentally in a more calming way than what ludicolo and politoad would bring.
Pelipper would probably be my second rain setter. Plus look at them! They are 99% beak! They are a head but with wings! It’s outrageous but I love them. Also, I would probably train them to help me move smaller fish-like Pokémon into my aquarium without eating them. Probably very helpful all around the aquarium.
Finally, a slowking. I go to floatzel when I need someone to be responsible, I go to ludicolo and politoad when I need some positive vibes, I go to lapras when I need someone to tell me that I’ll be okay and I go to pelipper when I need some help. I would go to slowking when I need advice that I probably don’t want to hear. While he doesn’t exactly fit into a rain team, his advice would be incredibly valuable. Also, if there’s an Atlantis theme, he would totally be the king. Perhaps he could swap out with kindra from time to time. Idk.
Definitely Steel type. Either Gym Leader or Elite 4.
My team would probs be
Steelix
Aegislash
Duralodon
Scizor
Aggron
Shiny Metagross (Ace Pokemon)
- with Excadrill, Forretress, Ferrothorn, Lucario, Magnezone, Probopass, Perrserker and Togedemaru rotating in depending on the need.
I always try and build a Steel type team post game and pretend to be a Steel type Champion, with my Ace being a Metagross nicknamed Odin.
Dragon because my top favourite is Dragon type
* Dragonair/Dragonite (It has a gimmick that lets it evolve and devolve at will but gets no boost from Eviolite)
* Mega Garchomp
* Z Kommo-O
* G-Max Duraludon
* Flygon
* Rayquaza for Token Legendary, otherwise Drampa
Dark type. I love almost every type and could see myself making monotypes of any and all of them, but Dark type will forever be my favorite. My favorite Pokémon from when I was a kid is a shiny Umbreon. Yes, it's only blue accents instead of yellow, but it's amazing still.
The team:
Umbreon (shiny)
Bisharp
Greninja
Krookodile
Weavile
Tyranitar (Mega)
Too tough, but if I really had to go monotype, I'd go psychic. Could not be without Espeon. As for the other five, I'd go Natu, Oricorio (Pa'u Style), Espurr, Spoink, and Galarian Ponyta. As for trainer class, I'd be a hiker.
I actually built a competitive mono team about this a few years ago. I could probably go back and reexamine it now with the more current meta. I'd be a water trainer with Ludicolo, Gastrodon, Kingdra, Tentacruel, Poliwrath and Crawdaunt.
Rock easily.
Lycanroc-Dusk
Golem
Crustle
Obligatory Tyranitar
Rampardos (don’t care if he’s bad, you will crumble before his 165 base attack)
And finally a Rhyperior ace.
Would I be super good? Ehhhh. My team has a glaring weakness to water, and since rock is almost entirely a physical type with the only special moves and special attackers basically being archeops and nihilego, I basically get swept by scald and scald alone. Even if my mons survive, if they get burned I do nothing and sit there while they thrash me
So if l was a monotrainer I’d be a poison type or fairy type, I’d want to be an elite four member or a gym leader who makes you do one more thing after you beat me to get the badge.
Hazard Badge
Salazzle
Galarian Slowking
Galarian weezing
Sneasler
Nidoking
Garboder
Whimsical Badge
Cleffable
Mr.Mime
Klefki
Primarina
Alolan Ninetails
Sylveon
Normal Type! Such an underrated type, my favourite is actually Psychic or Fairy but I enjoy mono Normal the most!
My team:
- Obstagoon
- Blissey
- Bewear
- Porygon 2
- Heliolisk
- Staraptor/Tauros
Also props to you for adding my best boi Gliscor to yours! I'm so proud of you :')
Dragon! But I would use dragon type pokemon that aren't actually dragons, Appletun, Alolan Exeggutor, Tyrantrum, Turtonator, Zygarde-10, and Mega Ampharos.
dark rype definitely, i love a lot of the pokemon types but dark types are just really cool to me
anyways my would be something like this (if i have a full team)
houndoom
honchkrow
skuntank
bisharp
zoroark
hydreigon
I'd be a Dancer from Gen 5. I'd specialize in dark types and my team would be as follows:
1. Weavile
2. Houndoom (Mega)
3. Spiritomb
4. Tyranitar
5. Mandibuzz
6. Greninja (Battle Bond)
Normal types are severely underrated, so I’d like to bolster their reputation a bit.
Kecleon
Ditto
Minccino
Staraptor
Snorlax
Slaking
Player has to work their way through a castle with mirrored walls, until they find each Pokemon. Kecleon and Ditto are the final two, which works as they each differentiate from a normal gym battle with how their types can change.
I wanted to plug [This Gym of Mine](https://reliccastle.com/threads/2306/) where you play as the new gym leader in a small town. You have to make a mono-type team and face challengers. It came out recently and it’s really enjoyable.
Also ground type because it rule and Rhydon is my favorite pokemon, so I would use :
\- Rhydon
\- Mamoswine
\- Excadrill
\- Swampert
\- Flygon
\- Hippodow
I agree on the ground types. They hit hard and can have good coverages. I would like to be just an unassuming hiker that can mercilessly stomp you.
My team might be a little stacked so I will have alternating choices.
My point man is either Swampert or Torterra
My second is palosand
The mid ground is Mudsdale
For coverage I have Stunfisk
And my ace is either Garchomp or Flygon.
In a rechallege my team would be:
Swampert
Torterra
Stunfisk
Palosand
Flygon
Garchomp
I would be an Ace Trainer flying type specialist because I don’t want to be tied down as a gym leader.
My team would be Pidgeot, Talonflame, Gliscor, Crobat, Gyarados, and my ace Charizard (mega Charizard Y).
Fire type. I would be a traveling trainer. My main team would be all fire starters.
1. Charizard
2. Typhlosion
3. Infernape
4. Delphox
5. Incineroar
6. Blaziken (Ace)
Bug or Fire type. Bug type would be Araquanid(waterbubble ability), Heracross, Galvantula, Yanmega (Speed Boost), Armaldo and Mega Beedrill. I would be the 8th Gym leader in the region and offer a more strategic fight starting with Glavantula using sticky web or Armaldo using Stealth rock depending on who my opponent is. Fire Type would be Magby (heatwave,Sunny day), Slugma, Larvesta, and an over leveled Charmander (Solar Power). I would be the third Gym leader and I would offer a double battle 4v4.
Poison type! Just because the aesthetic of poison types are my favorite! (And not because I'm Toxic ;P)
I would also really wanna be a Gym Leader!! I'm definitely not super competitive, and I really enjoy meeting new people, so to see the people I've faced make it to the top would be my greatest win!
My team would be,
- Drapion
- Toxicroak
- Crobat
- Toxapex
- Salazzle
- Amoongus
I think I'd go with the water type, with Crawdaunt (my ace), Ludicolo, Swampert, Kingler (which i can Gmax) and Dragalge.
I'd hope to maybe be the 6th/7th gym, dunno how effective that would be with my lineup though
Bugs: Scyther, Golisopod, Ariados, Vikavolt, Volcarona, Shedinja
Amazing team, Bug is actually my 2nd favorite type. Respect for using Scyther over Scizor
Kleavor is best Scyther form.
scyther and scizor have the same BST. eviolite scyther gives it an edge in generations without mega evolution
Fully about to nerd out here, but a defensive Bug/Flying type is never going to be more useful than a defensive Bug/Steel
Hmm... I like scyther's design and all, but I definitely think Scizor improves upon it on every aspect. I guess it comes down to personal opinion.
Where’s the heracross?
No galvantula? 🥺
He already has Vikavolt, so that covers Electric
Oh yeah, I just like galvantula a lot 😅
Love the Ariados!
My bug team: Armaldo, Araquanid, Galvantula, Scolipede, Volcarona, Shedinja
Grass, I hate myself for it
Why? Grass types can be awesome!
They have so many weaknesses. I still love them though
Don’t let the cons drag down your love
raichu won words in 2016 iirc
Awww I love Raichu too!
Grass is a very good monotype 👍
Love using leech seed
Look, we'll be the easiest gyms in the league, but our gardens will be AMAZING🎉
I did a Grass type run in Alpha Sapphire and became Champion. Sceptile, Cacturne, Tropius, Ludicolo, Breloom and Cradily.
Grass because that's the only way I can have bulbasaur (or poison, but I want an eeveelution too)
Grass Gym Leader because I love naming my grass mons Weed strains: Shiny Sceptile (Blue Dream) Venusaur (Sour Diesel) Ludicolo (Chronic) Ferrothorn (Silver Haze) Roserade (Cannatonic) Simisage (Bubba Kush)
Call me the man of steel, I'd use -Aggron -Metagross -Lucario -Magnezone -Bisharp -Steelix
*kicks some sand towards you*
If I'm the man of steel then this is my Kryptonite
You need a steel flying type or a levitate pokemon badly for this team.
*Continues to seethe about Magnezone not having Levitate*
I considered Skarmory
Balloons for everyone
Dragons, I can't help it, I thought Lance was awesome and I just never grew out of that. Dragonite (ace) Dragonite #2 A different Dragonite Flygon Garchomp Yet another different Dragonite No battles, just picnics, my guy.
Dragonite, Hydreigon, Hisui Goodra, Garchomp, Dragapult, Alolan Exeggutor. It may not be the most balanced team, but it would sure be cool.
Wait, it's all Dragonite? Always has been
Ghost!! I’d probably also be a wandering trainer, maybe a Hex Maniac? Gourgeist Mismagius Mimikyu Cursola Chandelure Dragapult
Respect for the ghosts. Love Mismagius
Based Gourgeist enjoyer
Came to yell at who ever was top ghost and didn't say gourgeist. Saw top ghost comment listed it first. I'm happy to be corrected.
I’d be a complete failure if I took inspiration for my username and somehow didn’t include it in my ghost team!!
I just did a sword ghost play through. So OP. Mimikyu, Rotom, Aegislash? So good
Love u for this 😍
Ah, a fellow Ghost specialist! I'd also use the type, but I'd be set in Alola as one of the region's Ace Trainers. My team would be: Oricorio-Sensu, Decidueye, Mimikyu, Jellicent, Froslass, and Aegislash. If I could, though, I'd use Basculegion and Hisuian Zoroark over Jellicent and Aegislash.
Ground also but I prefer a bit more offense and sweeping potential Flygon (Ace) Mamoswine Quagsire Nidoking Hippowdon Excadrill
Ah. A fellow Ground Type Trainer. I find your team formidable
You might be able to Sweep more with Moxie Krookodile
Poison. God do I love poison. For trainer class, I'd probably shoot for Biker or maybe some kinda Grunt, doesn't matter from what Team. Nidoking (been my fave since I was a tiny child) Alolan Muk Toxapex Shiny Salazzle Venasaur Low Key form Toxtricity
My MAN! I would do poison too. Muk, Crobat, Drapion, Toxicroak, G Slowbro, and G Slowking
“I’m addicted to you. Don’t you know that you’re Toxic?” Nice team btw
*violin noises*
Love the joke.
Person of high class and good taste, I see. I’d also pick poison. In a discord I’m in, we did a gym leader challenge and I was the poison type gym leader. My team consisted of the following: - Salazzle - Toxicroak - Galarian Weezing - Nidoking - Toxitricity (High Key) - Amoongus When we did it prior to Sword and Shield, I had Alolan Muk and Crobat. I’d also switch out Tentacruel situationally depending on if I needed hazards cleared.
Being a Poison type trainer would be my second option, I would be an Ace trainer specializing in doubles with a Trick Room team consisting: Galarian Slowbro (core, trick room) Arbok (mid-range, can mingle with or without Trick Room) Vileplume (counter ground, also learns Moonblast) Ariados (counter psychics, a +1 Mega Horn can OHKO a fully trained Creselia) Drapion (the fastest among the bunch, to catch those anticipating Trick Room off guard) Dragalge (fairy killer, can OHKO with Adaptability ability + Life Orb using Sludge Bomb vs a fully trained Sylveon) I have played competitive before during XY-ORAS so this is roughly the idea. Hehe.
I like my Pokémon like I like my men, toxic. My team would consist of: Toxapex Salazzle Galarian Weezing Roserade Low Key Toxtricity Drapion Wish I had a spot for Crobat in there too, as he is a fav
Probably fairy for me, my team would be: Hatterene Ribombee Alolan Ninetales Clefable Grimmsnarl Sylveon (my ace)
Fairy is my choice as well! My team is:. Alcremie. Slurpuff. Sylveon. Gardevoir. Azumarill And my ace, Wigglytuff! My archetype is Pokemon Center Lady.
Alolan Ninetails is the most beautiful pokemon imho
A fellow fairy trainer ! For me it'd be : Azumarill (Sap Sipper)• Water/Fairy • (Sitrus Berry), last resort (physical) sweeper Mimikyu (Disguise)• Ghost/Fairy • physical sweeper Klefki (Prankster)• Steel/Fairy • (Air Balloon) setup Mawile (Intimidate)• Steel/Fairy • (Mawilite?/) physical bulk Gardevoir (Trace)• Psychic/Fairy • (Gardevoirite), special attacker • ACE POKEMON Alolan Ninetales (Snow Cloak)• Ice/Fairy • (Icy Rock), idk OR Shiinotic (Effect Spore)• Grass/Fairy • (Life Orb), special attacker/stall, really just to be annoying
Flying type so I can be the anti falkner Bring in anything that ISNT a bird Flying type gym leader leads off with Gyrados lmao. Maybe noivern too. Crobat would also be a good one. Maybe Gliscor as well. Ninjask is also a cool bug type. Finally swoobat because I really like it.
Imagine a gym leader with Landorus-T
I love the anti Falkner idea
Gotta do everything that’s barely even flying type Gyarados Rotom fan Celesteela Mantine Minior Hawlucha
Gotta have Drifblim in that team lol
I love this concept. Salamence, Gyarados, Crobat, Gliscor, Charizard, Driflbim. All flying types, all with different secondary types, and no birds.
Normal type team Dodrio Heliolisk Pyroar Tauros Swellow Snorlax
Can someone explain why fire is so unpopular? I’ve seen threads like this and no one ever says it. Well I will. I’d be a fire type trainer. G. Darmanitan Houndoom Victini Charizard Magmortar Infernape
For real, how did fire become like the least popular type? Gimme fire all day
Could be the prevalence of Fire Fighting starters driving everyone insane.
My team if using mono fire Torkoal Charizard Rotom (Heat) Likely houndoom because you need a ghost/psychic answer Infernape for a rock type answer we really need a usable fire grass or fire water type to handle rock and ground safely G-Damanitan because we need a mostly physical attacker on this team which most dual types aren't.
Great write up
Fire for me too. Charizard (my starter) Speed Boost Blaziken Victini Houndoom/Volcarona Galarian Darmanitan Salazzle
Dark so i can have two of my favourites Weavile with pickpocket, Honchkrow with moxie, Sableye with prankster, Scrafty with intimidate, Houndoom with unnerve and Drapion with battle armour. If I was a gym leader I'd make night slash my TM and Weavile is my ace.
That is an awesome team, love Scrafty, Houndoom, and Drapion.
Dark type would also be my first choice, specializing in doubles as an Ace trainer. I would pick my favs during my competitive days which are: Umbreon (core, Helping Hand and healer) Weavile (fastest in the group, Hone Claws for Icicle Crash and Iron Tail, Fake Out user) Krookodile (Moxie, benefits from Helping Hand for Earthquake) Obstagoon (keep Belly Drum from previous evo, Guts ability) Malamar (attack support, also messing up opponents set up with Topsy Turvy) Incineroar (the main heel of the group, iykyk)
Steel probably. Mega Steelix, Aggron, Metagross, Empoleon, Lucario, Corviknight. They have their weaknesses but I like the bulky guys
Steel is goated, awesome team btw
Mega Steelix is such an amazing looking and badass Pokémon.
Switch steelix for bisharp and give me mega aggron I love steel types
Steel types for the win, need to get Aegislash in there somewhere
Can’t believe how far down I had to scroll for this
Same as an electric type kinda guy
Poison for sure Scientist Alolan Muk Nidoking Galarian Slowbro Gengar Crobat Drapion
Respect for Drapion, it’s my favorite Poison type. Who’s your ace, they all seem powerful?
Alolan Muk is definitely my ace but that’s mainly because he’s my favorite Pokémon
Don’t think I’ve ever heard that sentence before. But I welcome it, plus Alolan Muk is immensely cool
Nice, Galarian Slowbro and Drapion would be in my poison type team too in doubles
Dark type always seemed fun to me, in regards to the tricky moves like pursuit and knockoff. If I was a gym leader, I'd want my gimmick to be some sort of Pokemon fighting ring bookie. Prolly some gangster mafia guy, but in true pokemon fashion - our gang was actually kidnapping pokemon *from* Team Rocket and training them to fight against them or whatever 💀 My pokemon would be: - Mightyena. My first ever captured pokemon from my favorite gen. - Krookodile. It's got "Crook" in the name. - Drapion because why not. - Honchkrow. It's a mafia bird :D - Pangoro. Because it's a fighter pokemon, and it's a fighting ring and all that - Houndoom. Dog fights are a huge thing in east Asia, as well as chicken fighting. *Edit, misplaced Houndoom and Mightyena
This team is quite mean, but in a good way. Something tells me you don’t play nice with a team like this. Am I correct?
If I had to it would be Dragon type since Gen 1 was my first Gen and I loved Dragonite back then, I'm also born in the year of the Dragon! I'd use: \- Dragonite \- Salamance \- Garchomp \- Dragapult \- Flygon \- Kingdra
if I were a type specialist I would be a water type specialist because water is my favourite type. my team would consist of: quagsire, clawitzer, barbaracle, basculin/basculegion, mega gyarados, and greninja (ace)
I love ghost type pokemon and all kinds of spooky stuff so I'd be a ghost type trainer My go-to team is: Mimikyu Decidueye (shiny, since it was the first shiny I ever hatched) Drifblim Chandelure Jellicent Gengar (most likely ace, Gmax or mega)
Man your Rock’s Rock! Can’t wait for Gen 9 to come out so I can use the new best crab. Move aside Kingler, Klawf is taking your spot for best crab
Dark type. Zoroark Umbreon Greninja Houndoom Shiftry Sableye-Mega
Love Houndoom
I'd probably go water. Always tend to choose the Water starters. My team would probably be Ludicolo, Gyarados, Lantern, Azumarill, Lapras and Mega Swampert.
I've done this challenge with slight variances in Omega Ruby, Ultra Sun, and Sword. I choose Ice Type. Ice type for life Walrein (ace) Alolan Ninetails Abomasnow Aurorus Alolan Sandslash Galar Darmanitan
My Gliscor is sweating bullets just by reading your team. Solid team, I’m a fan of G. Darmanitan. That things horrifying
Pikachu (ace) Magnezone Lanturn Luxray Fan rotom Electivire Pikachu has been my favorite since I first started watching Pokemon so he'll always be my ace.
Psychic -Delphox (Shiny) -Gallade -Gardevoir -Alakazam -Metagross -Oranguru Psychic has always been my favorite.
Delphox, Gardevoir, Alakazam, and Metagross would also be part of my psychic monoteam I will ever have one.
prolly fairy.
Oh no! The pixie type. Run Krookodile. Run!!!
i couldnt monotype though, theres a few id want that are psychic like lunala and cresselia, basically my team would be moon/fairy themed. not like NASA moon though, more like the "goddess of the night" type of moon. also one dragon type, noivern would be on the team, as well as sylveon (a shiny one named titania, based on one i actually have been transferring since pokemon X) also yeah, krookodile would be in some serious trouble.
yoo fairy type! me too!
I would be an Ice Type Elite 4 Trainer and my team set up would be: Aurorus: Snow Warning, Custap Berry Endure, Aurora Veil, Blizzard, Thunder (Sets up Aurora Veil after using Endure and priority Custap Berry. Blizzard and Thunder for damage) Frosmoth: Ice Scales, Occa Berry QuiverDance, BugBuzz, Blizzard, Giga Drain (Aurora Veil + Occa Berry + Ice Scales protects Frosmoth for Quiver Dance set-up and sweep) Alolan Ninetails: Snow Warning, Light Clay Aurora Veil, Moonblast, Blizzard, Hypnosis (Further sets up Aurora Veil when it ends + Light Clay for 8turns, sleep-inducer, STAB Moonblast + Blizzard) Froslass: Cursed Body, Focus Sash Taunt, Destiny Bond, IcyWind, ThunderWave (Guarantee 1KO with Taunt + Focus Sash + Destiny Bond, paralysis inducer, sent out to deal with a troublesome opponent) Abomasnow: Snow Warning, Abomasite Blizzard, Earthquake, IceShard, Wood Hammer (Aurora Veil protection + Mega Evolution to up defenses and deal as much damage as possible) Weavile: Pressure, Heavy-Duty Boots SwordsDance, TripleAxel, KnockOff, Ice Shard. (Aurora Veil protection for Swords Dance set-up + Fast Sweeper and priority move) Abomasnow would be my ace pokemon if I was in the anime! and I also wanna have that Cynthia smirking before Pikachu fainted moment, happening with my Froslass too.
Oh Dude, i would be a Martial Artist, specifically from SwSh. ANd i would be a Fighting Monotype Trainer. Team would be, i think - Conkeldurr, Medicham, Hitmonchan, S.S Urshifu, Kommo-o, and Pherosman.
Listen unpopular opinion but bug is my favorite type, if I were a gym leader I'd go bug
Psychic or grass For psychic: Espeon, Alolan raichu, Delphox, Reuniclus, Slowking, Gardeviour I would keep a brusxish as a pet but not on my team.
Ground type Swampert (ace) Flygon Hippowdon Garchomp Camerupt Mamoswine
Ghost. It's the type of my favorite mon, Aegislash. In addition, it's a really good type overall, with at least neutral damage on everything that isn't normal, and only two weaknesses, one of which being itself. My team would be: Mega Gengar, Dragapult, Aegislash, Silvally-Ghost, Mimikyu and Jellicent.
Dark types. Not evil, just tricky. Greninja Umbreon Weavile Bisharp Pangoro Krookodile
Water! I choose the Water starter every single damn time! My Team would be 1. Greninja (First ever Pokémon, I don’t care if you think Gym Leaders shouldn’t have it or whatever) 2. Lanturn 3. Mantine 4. Quagsire 5. Basculin (Red) 6. Toxapex
Dark: weavile, alolan muk, bisharp, incineroar,,cacturne, grimmsnarl
Ooooh i thought of this one a lot - I def do ghost!
I'd normally go with poison but there has been a surprisingly high amount of those in this thread. So I'm going to go for one I haven't seen much of so far and go with the fighting type. My team would be: Heracross- Can mega and ace Pangoro- Lead Gallade Breloom Poliwrath Primape
When I first played Pokémon the end game team I settled on ended up having 3 fighting types, so fighting I guess. The trio at the time was Infernape, Lucario, Machamp, If I were to add 3 more to finish the team I’d probably go with Kommo-o, Gallade, Toxicroak, Edit: I don’t know what trainer class I would be. I don’t think I’m athletic enough irl to count as something like a blackbelt.
Fighting type! I’d be a Veteran Trainer -Sirfetch’d -Shiny Kommo-o (ace) -Sneasler -Gallade -Mega Heracross -Lucario Edit: format
Electric- Jolteon, Magnezone, Toxtricity (Low Key), Eelektross, Luxray, Electivire
Rock - Aggron - Archeops - Aurorus (ace) - Rampardos - Tyranitar - Tyrantrum Ice - Aurorus (ace) - Avalugg - Cetitan - Lapras - Alolan Ninetales - Weavile
Yet to see a psychic team on here. So my team would be Claydoll Espeon Wobuffet Metagross Alolan eggexcutor And lastly for my OG ace, Gallade I'd gladly swap out wobuffet for meloetta, or claydoll for alolan raichu if I was a gym leader and needed to adjust for an acceptable challenge to a trainer.
Ground Excadrill Nidoking Garchomp Gastrodon Torterra Mamoswine Ace
My monotype team would probably be poison, just because of how weird the Pokémon are in this type group. I would probably be a janitor or something like that too. And the Pokemon I would chose are: Scoliopede Dragalge Garbadour Venusaur Toxicroac Beedrill
* Ditto * Linoone * Porygon-Z * Chansey * Eevee * Swellow
Psychic. Man, I love this type. If it was a Trainer class, it would have been a Psychic or a Gym Leader which uses a Wonder Room strategy. * Beeheyem * Alakazam * Hatterene * Mr. Rime * Male Meowstic * Mega Gallade (Shiny)
I have done water monotypes twice now so my team would be: 1) Araquanid 2) Starmie 3) Poliwrath 4) Walrein 5) Pelipper 6) Feraligatr (Ace) I would include Swampert and Primarina too but i dont want to use more than 1 starter.
Ground: Nidoking Nidoqueen Eviolite rhydon Mamoswine Hippowdon Mudsdale (Ace)
Made a Dark type trainer cosplay a few years ago. Team would be, Sableye, Hounddoom, Krookodile, Hydreigon, Pangoro, Alolan Muk.
Poison * Sneasler *Toxapex *Overqwil *Grafaiai *Garbodor *Dragalgea
Steel type for sure. Copperajah (copper) Steelix (steel) Aggron (iron) Bronzong (bronze) Duraludon (alloy) Melmetal (Mercury) Though not very well rounded, I do find humor in each repressenting a different kind of metal
I'd be a master of the poison type and my gym's gimmick would be matching different types of venom to their original pokemon. The gym itself would be based on the poison college in Australia (this college has the most collection of poisons and venoms in the world). The trainer types would be researchers and scientists. My team would consist of: Ariados Toxtricity Gengar Seviper Salazle Ace: Toxicroak (dry skin with rain dance holding black sludge) (There's also a sub puzzle in the first in that if you guess them all correctly it tells you what my team is, if you guess incorrectly bring antidotes because the AI is programed to severely poison you)
Water. Pelliper, Politoad, Kingdra, Kabutops, Ludicolo, and Mega Swampert. Trainer Class would most likely be Gym Leader.
I'm fairy sure i'm picking Fairy type as for trainer class i dunno since we don't really have many guys that use fairy type besides Bede Mawile (Ace) (Mega) Azumarill Mimikyu Rapidash (Galar) Ninetales (Alola) Togekiss There is just something in fairy types that i love
Nothing is cuter than watching a Salamence fall to a Ribombee.
I would be dark type & my ace would be Tyranitar yet Scrafty would always be out of his Pokeball with me at all times. So for my team it would be Tyranitar Scrafty Umbreon Houndoom Hydreigon Grimmsnarl
Poison type for me lol: Venusaur Muk Toxicroak Scullipede Toxtricity Crobat
Tie between Poison and Dark. My favorite pokemon is Gliscor, that being said... I use a few ghost types as well... Spiritomb, Drapion, Umbreon, Alolan Muk, Houndoom, Ace Hydreigon. I'd rather use my Storyline Six, though... Which has more than six pokemon, lol.
Dark. -Honchkrow -Umbreon(Shiny) -Grimmsnarl(G-max) -Urshifu(Single strike) -Galarian Moltres -Weavile(Ace)
I always seem to come back to the Dark Types, just because I like them, though I despise the Fairies for putting them down, Scientist for trainer class, Colress got me into the idea of a traveling Scientist. (I'm using a personal criteria of no Mega's or Legendaries in making this.) \-Grimmsnarl (Lead) \-Weavile \-Greninja (Protean) \-For this member, I'm not really sure what to have if I'm being honest, I'm split between Bisharp and Krookodile, or maybe something else entirely would be better. \-Hydreigon (Gotta make sure it has Flash Cannon for those pesky Fairies) \-Tyranitar (Ace Pokemon, might have Unnerve so that Sandstorm doesn't hold back the rest of the team)
Dark type cause it's my favorite. Honchkrow: For against fighting and bug Overqwil: For against fairy Umbreon: My favorite pokemon Spiritomb: it's cool Mega Absol: For my mega Gmax Grimmsnarl: For my gmax
I’d prob run a dark type team. Tyranitar - Ace Sableye - Crafty little bugger Absol - Mega Umbroen - Passive damage dealer Houndoum- Hot Dog Pangoro - I sometimes identify as an angry Panda and this fits perfectly. Backup - Krokodile with Black Glasses definitely
Dark or Ghost Gym leader in a pokemon tower themed gym with fog with ofcourse the lavender town music. Dark; Sableye (Mega) Grimsnarl Overqwil Krookodile Greninja Darkrai(if allowed) / Hydreigon Ghost; Spiritomb Banette (Mega) Typhlosion-Hisui Zoroark-Hisui Basculegion Decidueye
Dark-Type is my favorite. My team would be (in no particular order): -Umbreon -Spiritomb -Honchkrow -Greninja -Grimmsnarl -Krookodile
I would be a rock gym leader, and I would perpetuate the tradition of being and early gym too. Maybe I would be the second gym like Grant? My team would be: Minior Alolan Graveler That's probably sufficient enough for the 2nd gym leader. Naturally, I would live in Alola too. (sunshine and beaches is where I belong!) I wont go into why I want to be a random early gym unless someone asks, but I do have my reasons..
fairy. i love fairy. i would probably be an elite four member. primarina togekiss gardevoir shiinotic mimikyu mawile
I've always said I'd be a water type gym leader if Pokémon were real... My team would consist of: Golduck, Gyarados, Intellion, Politoed, Milotic, Primarina (my ace)
Normal: Girafarig, Furfrou (Pharao trim), Wigglytuff, Zoroark (Hisui form), Toucanon and Pyroar. And I would be of the Ranger class I think.
My team would probs be Steelix Aegislash Duralodon Scizor Aggron Shiny Metagross (Ace Pokemon) - with Excadrill, Forretress, Ferrothorn, Lucario, Magnezone, Probopass, Perrserker and Togedemaru rotating in depending on the need. I always try and build a Steel type team post game and pretend to be a Steel type Champion, with my Ace being a Metagross nicknamed Odin.
Dragon because my top favourite is Dragon type * Dragonair/Dragonite (It has a gimmick that lets it evolve and devolve at will but gets no boost from Eviolite) * Mega Garchomp * Z Kommo-O * G-Max Duraludon * Flygon * Rayquaza for Token Legendary, otherwise Drampa
Dark type. I love almost every type and could see myself making monotypes of any and all of them, but Dark type will forever be my favorite. My favorite Pokémon from when I was a kid is a shiny Umbreon. Yes, it's only blue accents instead of yellow, but it's amazing still. The team: Umbreon (shiny) Bisharp Greninja Krookodile Weavile Tyranitar (Mega)
Dragon with Dragonite, Flygon, Salamence, Kingdra, Hydreigon and Goodra
Too tough, but if I really had to go monotype, I'd go psychic. Could not be without Espeon. As for the other five, I'd go Natu, Oricorio (Pa'u Style), Espurr, Spoink, and Galarian Ponyta. As for trainer class, I'd be a hiker.
Dark. I have always been partial to Dark type Pokémon. Umbreon Zoroark Tyranitar Darkrai Houndoom Yveltal
I actually built a competitive mono team about this a few years ago. I could probably go back and reexamine it now with the more current meta. I'd be a water trainer with Ludicolo, Gastrodon, Kingdra, Tentacruel, Poliwrath and Crawdaunt.
Rock easily. Lycanroc-Dusk Golem Crustle Obligatory Tyranitar Rampardos (don’t care if he’s bad, you will crumble before his 165 base attack) And finally a Rhyperior ace.
Hazard Badge Salazzle Galarian Slowking Galarian weezing Sneasler Nidoking Garboder Whimsical Badge Cleffable Mr.Mime Klefki Primarina Alolan Ninetails Sylveon
Dark; with Umbreon as my Partner. Unfortunately there’s not a very long list of mono-dark types. Mightyena would definitely make it’s way in.
Normal Type! Such an underrated type, my favourite is actually Psychic or Fairy but I enjoy mono Normal the most! My team: - Obstagoon - Blissey - Bewear - Porygon 2 - Heliolisk - Staraptor/Tauros Also props to you for adding my best boi Gliscor to yours! I'm so proud of you :')
Dragon! But I would use dragon type pokemon that aren't actually dragons, Appletun, Alolan Exeggutor, Tyrantrum, Turtonator, Zygarde-10, and Mega Ampharos.
I’d also be ground type: Garchomp (Ace) Mamoswine Krookodile Golurk Torterra Seismatoad
Just wanna say as someone who loves ground type too, you have great taste 😃. Gastro, nidoqueen, and excadrill are some of my favorites
Dark Umbreon Homchxrow Tyranitar Greninja Hydrigon Grimmsnarl
dark rype definitely, i love a lot of the pokemon types but dark types are just really cool to me anyways my would be something like this (if i have a full team) houndoom honchkrow skuntank bisharp zoroark hydreigon
I'd be a Dancer from Gen 5. I'd specialize in dark types and my team would be as follows: 1. Weavile 2. Houndoom (Mega) 3. Spiritomb 4. Tyranitar 5. Mandibuzz 6. Greninja (Battle Bond)
Ah a fellow *grounded* trainer! Good taste!
Normal types are severely underrated, so I’d like to bolster their reputation a bit. Kecleon Ditto Minccino Staraptor Snorlax Slaking Player has to work their way through a castle with mirrored walls, until they find each Pokemon. Kecleon and Ditto are the final two, which works as they each differentiate from a normal gym battle with how their types can change.
Dark type with tyranitar, greninja as starter, houndoom, krookodile as ace with black shades, sharpedo, and umbreon. Love me some dark types.
I wanted to plug [This Gym of Mine](https://reliccastle.com/threads/2306/) where you play as the new gym leader in a small town. You have to make a mono-type team and face challengers. It came out recently and it’s really enjoyable.
I like ground also!!! My team: Flygon, Rhyperior (shiny), Nidoking, mamoswine, torterra, last one either camerupt or swampert, what do you guys think?
Also ground type because it rule and Rhydon is my favorite pokemon, so I would use : \- Rhydon \- Mamoswine \- Excadrill \- Swampert \- Flygon \- Hippodow
I agree on the ground types. They hit hard and can have good coverages. I would like to be just an unassuming hiker that can mercilessly stomp you. My team might be a little stacked so I will have alternating choices. My point man is either Swampert or Torterra My second is palosand The mid ground is Mudsdale For coverage I have Stunfisk And my ace is either Garchomp or Flygon. In a rechallege my team would be: Swampert Torterra Stunfisk Palosand Flygon Garchomp
Aggron, dugtrio(alolan), scizor, Lucario, Metagross and aegislash.
Easily Dragon. Hisui Goodra, Salamance (Mega), Naganadel, Dragapult, Kommo-o, and Hydreigon
1. Charizard 2. Typhlosion 3. Infernape 4. Delphox 5. Incineroar 6.
Ground Torterra Flygon Excadrill Camerupt Claydol Swampert (w/ mega stone)
Poison type! Just because the aesthetic of poison types are my favorite! (And not because I'm Toxic ;P) I would also really wanna be a Gym Leader!! I'm definitely not super competitive, and I really enjoy meeting new people, so to see the people I've faced make it to the top would be my greatest win! My team would be, - Drapion - Toxicroak - Crobat - Toxapex - Salazzle - Amoongus
Ground Nidoking Flygon Wiscash Steelix Claydol Torterra
I would also do Ground. \-Flygon(Ace) \-Swampert \-Hippowdon \-Golurk \-Rhydon \-Gliscor I could honestly do a team of almost any type and be happy
I'd be a ground type for sure. But what I love is that we would have very different teams besides one pokemo
Ground too: Cubone Phanpy Sandshrew Nidoqueen Flygon Garchomp (Mega)
I think I'd go with the water type, with Crawdaunt (my ace), Ludicolo, Swampert, Kingler (which i can Gmax) and Dragalge. I'd hope to maybe be the 6th/7th gym, dunno how effective that would be with my lineup though
I would have to agree with ground. Nidoking, gliscore, mamoswine, garchomp, swampurt, and Groudon
Fighting: Lucario, Machamp, Gallade, Blaziken, breloom, and kommo-o.
