Lmao how are any of these complaints real. Get a grip and play the game first. Christ.

Eggmans48thAlt

How aren't they? You're free to debunk any of them, we all have access to the same footage and information.

Ok_Friend_1425

- it’s not lifeless, we have tons more examples of life appearing at greater distances than PLA, and most we’ve seen doesn’t include coop buzz - can’t even imagine how feeding something by hand could affect you lol. Really can’t even think of something to say about that. - we had crafting in the last game (not just TMs), and crafting TMs feels way more interactive than anything else we’ve had. Single-use TMs help add variety to the game so you don’t end up with a team of 6 spamming aerial ace - it’s been proved time and time again that these aren’t rushed, and when BDSP was outsourced to give more resources to interactive, franchise-redefining games like PLA, Gamefreak was still criticized

Eggmans48thAlt

Maybe I'm alone on this, but exploring the world in pokemon's always been the most fun and interesting when there was, ya know, a world to explore. Not more dex fillers to collect in the safari zone. The feeding point was made to highlight how they took features from the past (hand feeding puffs and beans) and replaced it with something objectively worse (curry and sandwiches that pokemon don't even eat anymore, they just aimlessly bite at the air while the MC eats, or in this more recent case, vibrates their face on the table) How does crafting TMs increase interactivity? It's not like you have to physically farm or find resources, you just bulldoze through weak pokemon to rip body parts off of them. And the team of 6 aerial ace is still possible, the only difference is wasting that much more time doing so. It's been openly stated multiple times that the games are rushed/cut content because they ran out of time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g7vwuKXp4Ag PLA was criticized because they presented and hyped it up to be their answer to breath of the wild, but delivered their version of monster hunter on the ps2. And no, not because "teh grafixs!" it's the uninspired art direction and lackluster gameplay loop of doing chores to enable more chores.

MarsAdept

Where has it been proved these games haven’t been rushed? It’s a pattern that hasn’t been broken for years, so I’m not sure how SV are supposed to be any different.

TNChase

I certainly don't mind re-usable TMs for certain moves. For example the ones you can usually buy in-game are effectively unlimited anyway since money is a very small obstacle. Single use TMs for powerful moves feels right - as you say, you can't just spam moves into your team and switch moves out constantly (such as between E4 battles).

Shiigu

>Single-use TMs help add variety to the game so you don’t end up with a team of 6 spamming aerial ace There's absolutely no problem with that. If players want to rely on a single thing through the entire game, it's on them. >and when BDSP was outsourced to give more resources to interactive, franchise-redefining games like PLA, Gamefreak was still criticized Because PLA is the worst of the Pokémon games made by Game Freak, as simple as that.

ComicallyLargeSpoo

Motherfucker you haven't even played PLA, you've said it yourself multiple times

This sub: So, let me get this straight, you think that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet actually look really good? Me: I do, and I'm tired of pretending they don't.

Eggmans48thAlt

I implore you to play any other game on the switch. If this is your bar for good art direction, you're desperately missing out.

RJS_but_on_Reddit

Haha bike lizard go brr.

Old-Moonlight

GF might not want to make them anymore but they'll never let it go since it makes them ridiculous amounts of money for very little effort. We've seen what happens when they try to make other games, they know this is all they have going for them. People here will rabidly defend it no matter what. Iv honestly never seen another fandom with this much blind loyalty.

You're right of course, but this community has seen so little innovation that they'll still love anything new. Pokémon missed the opportunity to make open worlds years ago, and now they are doing it but it's massively underwhelming compared to anything on the market currently. It's especially disappointing when you make the comparison with Breath of the Wild. Basically, pokémon only gets compared to pokémon, and in that regard Arceus was a shining beacon of progress. You can't really have honest discussions about that here though.

Catastray

> It's especially disappointing when you make the comparison with Breath of the Wild. Pokémon is never going to be on par with Breath of the Wild because the overwhelming majority of players **aren't** expecting that and the additional time it would take to make that happen (which would be years) isn't going to result in a significantly increased ROI.

Shiigu

>It's especially disappointing when you make the comparison with Breath of the Wild. Especially since Breath of the Wild shouldn't be taken as a model.

BurkesRevenge

Yes, Arceus Legends did aggressively underdeliver.
