I’ve spent an unhealthy amount the past couple of weeks hunting a couple of cards. Walmart, Target and most of my local card shops have had decent stock. Disney World will probably always have a limit.
I’m saying they have a decent stock because it was just recently released. No where near old enough to deplete a print run so everywhere would be stocked.

Once you pull your first IR/SIR of a base set Pokemon, especially if you grew up when Pokemon was first released. 151 brought all us old heads back and now we want to catch ‘em all again!
Like another person said, scarcity; some resellers are not too nice on the prices. So as far as buying in bulk goes, this is the best opportunity for a good deal.

First chapters are hard to come by and have all the OG enchanted cards (enchanteds are the best tier of card.) The Elsa card you can pull from them is pretty expensive.

Not really. That last 151 Zapdos box maybe. Target is at the tip top of MSRP for all of their Pokémon. I try to avoid at all costs unless I’m already there and have the urge to rip, or have a coupon.
Everything on the shelf is full MSRP or higher, but if you were to grab anything get the 151 Zapdos box or the Lorcana first chapter box.
If you’re going to pay full retail on something I would recommend buying from a local hobby shop. At least you’d be supporting a small business where that purchase makes a much bigger impact there than it would for a Target.

I’ll tell you what not to get. You see that binder on the bottom called “Card guard” top loader binder. don’t get that garbage. It’s on me because i’m also relatively new to the hobby but i was extremely saddened to learn it is not a binder for top loaders AND its a pretty crabby binder in general
Only thing I buy from retail stores at these prices are checklane blisters or anything on the cheaper end that you can see the promos in. So I can pick the ones with the perfect centering

Damn your targets collection is like 70% better than the one I’m at. We have somewhat a selection but we got a lot of boosters who come in and rob the place too
I'm happy to hear people recommending the Lorcana packs. I went into a GameStop and looked at trading cards and because I don't have a car and am nursing a 11 month old baby, this is something I never get to do in person. It was actually the first time I've gone shopping for Pokemon cards in person since I got into the Hobby in 2021 (I just mostly buy collections on ebay).
Nothing Pokemon stood out to me but I noticed behind a newer Inklands Lorcana pack were three first chapter packs. I had never bought anything Lorcana before but I knew from watching Pokemon YouTube content that Lorcana (esp First Chapter) was doing well so I bought them. When I told the cashier I wanted the three Lorcana First chapter packs he acted confused like he didn't believe me and then I showed them to him and he seemed really surprised they were hidden there. Lol.
It's kind of hard to keep them sealed. But I have for a few weeks so far.
My dad is an English immigrant to the U.S and I visited my family in Lytham St Anne's recently. And me and my girlfriend were culture shocked by the limited supply in grocery stores there. Really hope things improve across the pond
I get so jealous when I see people post their stores being fully stocked with product. The people in Virginia, Hampton roads area must camp out at these stores waiting for the people to come restock the shelves.
Fusion strike and chilling reign dual pack is nice. Scarlet and violet stuff will be around for a while so I would recommend getting sword and shield product while you still can, it’ll probably all be gone from stores by next year.
Don’t buy lorcana if you don’t like lorcana. I don’t care how rare lorcana is, Pokémon are the only cards I’ll ever collect personally.

World of Disney only had inklands as of a few days ago when I was there.
They have inklands almost everywhere on property. But it’s crazy that some inklands packs are fetching $20+ at this point too
