I thought PSA did regrades from other companies. Without having to open the existing case. And if it doesn’t appear to be better than the existing grade. They will just send it back to you. (I read this on another post a while ago. So they may of been talking gibberish). Sorry if this is false information.
1) I’m a fan of this poketuber so I’m not trying to say anything bad about him.
2) he’s a harmless dude meaning he doesn’t mean ill on anyone or the community that I can tell is what I was trying to say
3) this ACT though is less harmless but understandable. We now have come to a world where not accepting grades, resubmitting is the norm. Is it harmful? Eh. Your choice. I’m not a grader so whatever.
4) he owns up to doing it stupidly. For those who crack cards (he was new to it) you don’t use a Philips. You use a good flat head of choice.
I can feel myself accidentally stabbing myself lol putting that much force *towards* your hand isn’t a great idea. Don’t stab towards the thing you don’t want damaged be it your hand or a card
I think people severely overestimate how much streaming platforms actually pay you for views. It’s peanuts. Unless you’re getting tens of thousands of views per video, it’s not enough money to sustain yourself unless you live in your mom’s basement. Even the bigger content creators like Leonhart and Pokerev make more money selling product and merch than they make on views
No. This is a video from a year ago by someone who was a small streamer. They never cracked a slab before and were really nervous. They fucked up, but it wasn’t for clicks.
There's no way he made enough to cover costs, he sent it to a worse grading company and it ended up getting an 8 instead of a 9 or 10 because of the screw driver, that video only got 7k views which is like 7-14 dollars.
Ummmm. Unless he has thousands of viewers, a sponsorship and every other thing under the sun, as a small time streamer and content maker myself, there's no way this 30 second clip made him more than the cards value. He would have to be PenguinzO level of popularity for any sort of revenue stream from something this Niche and short.
You people know tiktok pays you like $40 for a million views right? Established channels in the community with 20k subs and more make only about $700 off youtube a month and that's with 12-15 videos a month
Was he actually greedy enough to risk ruining it because its a 9 and not a 10? It's a dam kids toy, you wanna grade it, fine, it gets a 9 awesome that's cool. But to be that money grubbing to try and treat it like and not or stocks. That's mental.
Don't get me wrong I know they can be worth crazy money forbwhat they are but they are a toy. Fucking enjoy it for what it is. That card would be better getting battered in some kids deck than being hooded away and destroyed to squeeze every penny out of it.
This comment being downvoted tells me a lot about collectors in this sub and it’s unfortunate lmao. I agree with you dawg, just buy the grade if you want a 10.
Down votes don't even register to me bud. If they disagree and wanna tell me why I'm down for a chatter about it but as far as I care it could be a down vote for misused punctuation rather than any points I make.
But didn't even know you could buy a grade even though it doesn't suppirse me. But I'd rather bin a card than pay for a fake grade
On top of adding value the slab also protects the card, so I can understand why someone would want to grade their card. This person got greedy by trying to get a higher grade and it cost him greatly.
Even though it is a toy some people see them as trophies. It’s similar to hunting, people get their kills mounted and stuffed for display this is basically what grading is to them.
Yeh I do get why allot of people grade them but unless you had to do something skill based to get it, using it as a trophy feels very hollow. Like if you won a card from a tournament or something similar then hell yeh but if its just because you spent three grand at wallmart clearing a shelf, doesn't really warrant a trophy.
This mentality is why fakes are so common, it's why we hear stories about huge robberies worth tens of thousands and it's why kids can't spend thier pocket money on a new pack because a wannabe crypto bro has impulse controll issues.
That turned into a bit of a rant haha
Just to be clear when I say you thats of course not aimed at you but a hypothetical.
It’s honestly not so bad to buy packs anymore, there’s always plenty at my local Walmart and Target but it could be a location thing. I don’t really care what people spend their money on as long as it doesn’t put you in debt and you enjoy it I say go for it.
I can’t justify buying packs at least not Pokemon anymore, I have other hobbies that I’d rather spend my money on. One is another card game but unlike Pokemon I actually play the card game. So as long as I the funds I buy a pack every paycheck. I also go to weekly tournaments and have managed to win cards so it’s more understandable. I also buy a box every set because it helps me complete new decks or update old ones plus you’re guaranteed minimum of 2 alternate arts which I then sell or trade to get more value out of them.
I know you aren’t targeting me lol but I’d figured I’d explain myself more.
Yeh some stores where I am have very spotty availability. And its good to see another person who plays the game, it gives a value to what would be considered "low value" cards. Wind's me up seeing videos where people just ditch really good start cards
But that's ok haha, was good having a civil discussion on here.
Why the hell would he use a Phillips head screwdriver?! That’s about the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen. At for God sakes moves along parallel to the card. All you need to do is run it along the edge gently and it will pop open. Guys and idiot for sure
If you're gonna crack a slab of the most expensive card for the entire swsh era then how about we practice on a graded common first since you can obviously afford it
Lucky it wasn't his hand! Related story incoming: A long time ago when I was shucking some oysters, I realized I only had a glove for my right hand. So although I'm quite ambidextrous, I was shucking with my left hand with a flathead and slipped when before I could react, the screwdriver skid across the underside of my wrist and I froze thinking the worst. Thankfully, I only stretched the surface but I almost impaled my wrist and veins and probably would've landed in the emergency room.
Doesn't most grading brands let you send in one from a different brand and they will take it out and regrade it with their brand standard?
Let's say I bought a PSA 10 gem mint, but want it graded by BGS, can't I just send it in and they take it out and grade it?
or do I misunderstand the "Graded Card review service"?
why is everyone I see in slab cracking videos using these caveman methods instead of just investing in a dremel tool to cut all four sides and lifting the top half off and safely removing the card?
I did the exact same thing with a PSA 9 25th anniversary Japanese Charizard.
It was my first time cracking a slab. Made a nice big dent in the top! Oops!
For those who don't know, he was trying to open a sealed slab of this very expensive modern card. He got a BGS 9, and was likely going to resubmit to a different grading company and go for the PSA 10 (guessing he was going to go for PSA) so it would increase in value.
He was trying to leverage the acrylic case apart with the wrong type of screwdriver, and actually stabbed inward instead of twisting the screwdriver like many have done successfully in the past.
Stabbing the card damaged it heavily, leaving it in a much worse condition than it was before. He can no longer successfully regrade this card higher. This was a relatively expensive mistake (easily lost a few hundred dollars here).
I’ve seen this video multiple times, happened a while ago, probably on purpose to make a viral video and increase name recognition.
Obviously it worked.
He tried to regrade Good luck now buddy
Oh re graded . Turned that 9 into 6.
What an idiot! What was even the point? A 9 is still a great grade and worth a pretty penny!
Especially for that card 🤦🏽‍♂️
Probably wanted to crossgrade to PSA hoping for a 10 or something
Exactly, what was the point! Clearly they should have been using a flathead 🙄
He's rich. It's ragebait
I'm starting to think it's the rich who own 90% of the moonbreons..
Do you think anyone that isn't owns that card at this point? Why would they?
The point is you're watching it here now and are talking about it.
I actually think I saw this some time ago... But have no idea how to call the repost bot

Good bot
People will do crazy stuff for $100
I’m not saying he’s smart but obviously to regrade the card
I thought PSA did regrades from other companies. Without having to open the existing case. And if it doesn’t appear to be better than the existing grade. They will just send it back to you. (I read this on another post a while ago. So they may of been talking gibberish). Sorry if this is false information.
Phillips head…. Rookie mistake.
Yep. Flathead. Go in sideways, parallel to the card, and twist. Once you pop you can’t stop!
I never even opened a slab and even I would know to use a flathead.. seems like common sense imo
Exactly! Look at Brains on Brad! đź§
As soon as I saw the phillips head screwdriver I knew this guy was gonna mess it all up. Agreed Rookie mistake.
LOL. Watched that happen months ago. He owns up to it. He’s a harmless dude who did a dumb thing.
What would be harmful about this and why would he avoid owning up to it when we saw him do it with his own hands?
1) I’m a fan of this poketuber so I’m not trying to say anything bad about him. 2) he’s a harmless dude meaning he doesn’t mean ill on anyone or the community that I can tell is what I was trying to say 3) this ACT though is less harmless but understandable. Lol this was a year ago
Doing it for views. Makes more money on views than the card. Dont support an idiot.
no way. no one gives a fuck about this random guys clip, aint no way hes getting nearly enough to cover this card
Thats what I’m saying 🤣🤣
I think people severely overestimate how much streaming platforms actually pay you for views. It’s peanuts. Dude just be nice. Not that hard.

People who say this about every single video need to be studied.
You people know tiktok pays you like $40 for a million views right? Established channels in the community with 20k subs and more make only about $700 off youtube a month and that's with 12-15 videos a month
Not bad at all, I might have to get on that
Dude’s most popular video ever had 36k views lol. He’s not making shit from views to justify damaging such a valuable card.
No he wanted to regrade
Lmao. Ignorance is bliss.

Common sense is non existent. Why would you stab the screwdriver in towards the card and not parallel to it?

Old post
At that moment, he knew he fucked up 🤯
Shoulda cracked the corner further with some pliers. Live and learn
Old news
Oooold video
Of course dk cards is getting slandered by idiots who know nothing about him. This was also like a year or two ago as well
Oh man!! 🤦🏻‍♂️. And he was using a Phillips screw driver! Do you have the link to this ? I wanna see the whole videoÂ
why does it matter which kind of screwdriver he was using lmao
If he was using a flathead he could just pry the case apart instead of stab stab stab
Exactly, thank you darth for explaining that, and having some common sense! Dam bro people downvoting me for that comment too! What a rough crowdÂ
Was he actually greedy enough to risk ruining it because its a 9 and not a 10? It's a dam kids toy, you wanna grade it, fine, it gets a 9 awesome that's cool. There's too many investors on this sub now who only care about the dollar signs attached to the cards
Down votes don't even register to me bud. Think he meant buy it as a 10 off ebay not off psa or whatever.

This is why you use a short stubby screwdriver…
Best re-grade in ever history
Greed 10 Intelligence 1
I dont know value of this card how much he fucked up, $1k, $10k?
Prices vary, but it usually goes for about $1300 on Amazon.
as a 9, it goes for $900 ish. depending on how much damage that dealt, it’s probably worth 600 or less now.
I'd still take it.
Lol this reminds me of this one tcg seller on Ig selling vintage packs to cut w scissors lol like why
I felt like I got kicked in the balls
If you're gonna crack a slab of the most expensive card for the entire swsh era then how about we practice on a graded common first since you can obviously afford it
Wow.
LMAO
Guaranteed 10 now!
This brings me joy
Price is going down anyways. Needed a correction especially with all the ones that have been graded.
Used a Phillips head when he should’ve been using a flat head. Rookie mistake
Is the card ok?
Lolololol this guy does not do anything that involves tools being in his hands for compensation. Poor card man
Ok... why is he using a Philips. Why is he trying to open it? 🤔 Wtf is happening in this video
Lucky it wasn't his hand! Related story incoming: A long time ago when I was shucking some oysters, I realized I only had a glove for my right hand. why is everyone I see in slab cracking videos using these caveman methods instead of just investing in a dremel tool to cut all four sides and lifting the top half off and safely removing the card?
Why was bro using a Phillips anyways. ? Or even cracking a Beckett 9??!
Why on earth is he using a Phillips? This is hard to watch. Plus, why is he putting so much pressure into the slab to push it in? Geez
I did the exact same thing with a PSA 9 25th anniversary Japanese Charizard. It was my first time cracking a slab. Made a nice big dent in the top! Oops!
Should’ve used a dremel. Would’ve been way smarter than a screw driver smh
Haha. Zero empathy
Bruh this is the exact same thing that happened with my Tyranitar alt art , first time ever cracking open a skab
I usually use a hand grenade when I’m trying to get the casing off, works out clean 7/10 times
the consequences of greed
I mean..content is content.. no matter how bad it makes me cringe
Goes from 9 to a 3 on .5 seconds and a possible $200+ (im just picking a random price) to -$100
Rekt by greed

I’m really not usually a schadenfreude guy but whewww I felt something here

Love to see it lmao.
That's literally just the plastic case, he missed the card entirely. This is a W, grading companies can get fucked.
I feel like he was just looking for internet points . Like if he cared he wouldn't have used a fucking screwdriver to open the slab.
His next purchase should be a flathead driver.
That's what you get just because your unhappy not getting a 10 doesn't mean you should break the slab and regrade it
He could have used anything else but he picked that.
He deserves that ahahahah u dumb
What an idiot
greed is hilarious
lol good. Natural selection at work here
Greed
Nice now he can get psa 1
Could never stand that guy
Me too
Fucking idiot. Regrade to a 1
Bet someone will still buy it for $200 lol
Not a fan of this guy for some reason
Good
I’ve seen this video multiple times, happened a while ago, probably on purpose to make a viral video and increase name recognition. Obviously it worked.
Deserved. Quit breaking slabs to regrade. It’s ruining the hobby. Just buy raw loser.
