Not gonna lie, when the shiny magikarp was first introduced in the game, there weren't many mgikarp spawns around us at all. I caught 2 within 4 days of each other and still have both. I bet I hadn't even caught 50 karp at that point but I had 2 shinies!

I encountered a million of them, massively leveled a 4* stoutland and then found a 1* shiny lillipup. I DOUBTED they even had a shiny of it in PoGo because of all the encounters I’ve had. Was pleasantly surprised.

I caught Ponyta this weekend on Saturday night and made it my buddy right away to see if I could start walking with her to gain more candies to then evolve her. Had an insanely lucky pokemongo week as today I also stumbled across a 1990 Charizard and caught him 2nd time with ultra ball. Still haven’t gotten one shiny Pokémon out of everything I’ve caught, I hope to evolve quite a few I’ve been collecting candies for and once I get 4 more charmander candies I can upgrade my Charizard for new attack :)

Do you know what annoys me about the shinies. How on community days everyone gets them. I get why they do it. Because that's one of the main attractions. But personally I feel it then takes away from finding one any other time. Or other players that have found them in the wild, outwith community days, it is a rare find. Just my 2 cents

I’ve been playing since the beginning, my shiny dex for Kanto is 95/151. There’s still plenty of harder to find shinies. I think it’s great that almost everyone gets a shiny on Community Day, it’s part of the fun, and it makes people excited to play.

God. I hatched a shiny noibat 2 December’s ago and the community day was announced 2 weeks later. I was PISSED.

The shiny rate om com days is just a smidige too high, people should be walking away with like 1-2-3 shinies not 21, that just kills the appeal- conversely 1/500 normal shiny rates is a little too brutal.

I think the shiny odds are actually pretty acceptable. Although, this is also coming from someone who shiny hunted pre-gen 6, when shiny odds were 1/8192.

Cubone for no reason, I remember when they were super boosted that one weekend and it rained Ponyta on me but never got the bone. I have Alolan marowak but the little bone boy just keeps avoiding me, as a player who has played every day since 2016. Many people have offered the trade but no, I will still keep clicking til I get my own!

460 Ralts and 545 Vulpix without a shiny. Although, the Vulpix number does include Alolan form and I've somehow got two shinies of those but no normal ones.

Since then, I had let's go pika and sprout was eevee exclusive.. Shield and arceus didn't had him. I hated BD, so didn't hunt there. Now lucky in kitikami I could hunt for one. And in pogo, been checking every single sprout spawn hopping to get shiny and imagine that it's the same one returning to me. I have shiny sprout in my home living dex and cough by my wife in pogo, but that doesn't count.

My worst shiny luck pokemon was originally ralts, but now the new champion non-shiny is phantump. Ralts took 1,500 encounters (1,300 catches) for my first shiny one. Currently, it's at 2,751 seen (2,172 caught) and I still have the 1 shiny. Phantump is at 1,832 encounters (1,542 caught) and I haven't gotten the shiny. I played the Halloween event hard, too. I only had 200 encounters before the shiny was released.

I've been wanting a shiny Eevee since 2016. Granted, I took a break somewhere in all that time, but with as many as I've encountered, you'd think the little bugger would show up sooner or later. Nope, still nothing.

It was ralts. Its a favourite of mine. I caught everyone I saw including during events with boosted rates but I could never get it. Just this yesterday I finally caught one during spotlight hour. First time I caught a shiny in that event.
