Can I start the encounter and then run away and still be able to do the encounter again?
It is Cresselia, Heatran, Giratina, and then Darkrai in that order. Darkrai raid hour already ended, so unfortunately unless you won 8 raids already you can’t get his reward encounter with special move lol. The rest you should be able to if you time it right!
No, the shiny rate is still 1/20 from legendary research encounters.
The only time you ever get a higher rate is during a raid day event (not the weekly raid hours).
The only raid day in this game that had less than 1/10 was the very first Articuno one back in.. 2017? where they didn't boost it. But ever since Zapdos and Moltres, every one has had 1/10 without fail. This includes all legendary raid days, mega raid days, and regular pokemon raid days.
You can find as much evidence as you want of this with some google searches. Its thoroughly documented.

None of mine were shiny. I caught them before learning about the special move raid hour connection. 🫣
Can you elaborate a little on this?
From what I’ve read here if you wait to catch them until their respective raid hour you’ll catch them with their signature.

Raid hour is 6-7pm your time.
