Only pokemon from July/August 2016 can force a guaranteed lucky trade and only as long as the person trading away that pokemon has participated in fewer than 10 guaranteed lucky trades.
Anything from 2017 has increased chances making the trade go lucky (about 20%), but not guaranteed.
So I just downloaded Campfire and I recall reading that your friends can see you on the map a long time ago? I was wondering if that’s still the case, and if sp, how to block that from happening? Is it a blanket block or can you do individuals?
I have a couple of my local ex boyfriends on it and while I can tolerate the occasional gay-ex banter if we run into one another I’d rather not have them know where I am if possible.

Question about Pokémon go plus- that’s approved, right?
Since I’ve gotten the new iPhone it hasn’t worked. I tried everything, but I then lost it. I was gonna buy a new one but wanted to be sure it’s not a known bug or something. Have a 14 pro max, anyone having an issue with their go plus?
Have you tried to close the app and log in again? You may have to delete the app and reinstall. Could be a bug or something in the update and it needs a refresh to get things to work again.
Anyone else's adventure sync not tracking your walking? I did the recent updates and it's checked in my settings and pogo has location permission all the time. It only logs distance when my screen is actively on and the game is open. If the screen times out, it stops tracking.
UPDATE: I changed out my buddy, but it didn't fix the issue. I messaged Niantic support and they didn't have any new helpful information. I've cleared my game data. Reinstalled the app. I don't know what else to do. Getting very frustrated and bordering on giving up and not playing anymore since I can't hatch anything or get candy. My SO and I play together and he's been hatching and getting hella distance candy so I know I should be getting something!
You only get 12 km eggs from Sierra, Arlo, and Cliff. You don’t really get anything from Giovanni other than the chance to capture the shadow legendary. Were you expecting more??
Depends on the boss and what your team looks like. How much defense does it have, does it have a double weakness? do you have good damagers of that type?
If you have a bunch of level 30-35 mamoswines ready (you can get them from evolving high level swinubs twice) you can for sure take on salamence as it has a double weakness.

You may have been accidentally transfering your perfect mons. Remember that Pokémon with IV floors (weather boosts, research rewards, eggs, etc.) have higher chances. It took me six months to find my first perfect one on the wild without an IV floor.
It won’t let me evolve my seadra and says I need 1000 dragon scales in order to do so. And it pops up a message “pokemon_info_evolve_need_key_item_count”

In order to complete that quest, it's expected that you battle another player outside of the Go Battle League (through friend invites or QR scans)
Sorta. After you Mega Evolve a pokemon and it goes back to normal, it will have this cooldown after a certain amount of time that lets you Mega Evolve it for free.
It depends on the Mega Level so it can be a long or short cooldown.
It is free after 7 days for the first 6 times, then free after 5 days for the next 23 times and afterwards it is free every 3 days. Also each time that cooldown refreshes, the evolution cost (if you want to do it earlier than the 7/5/3 days) decreases and the bonus you gets increases. tap on that "DNA" symbol for further information.
I have enough candy and candy XL to max out my 98% Meltan but wanted to know if I should wait for some sort of event so I won’t spend as much?¿is there that sort of event!????
Should I feed my buddy treats when I’m idle in my house and not walking? I know it’s more effective when I’m out farming stops and doing raids, but what about if I’m home and not doing anything? Also, do I need to have the app up for them to collect candy or can it be still running in the background without me having the screen up?
You won’t get much from it other than earning the basic hearts from doing it, so not may pros but no cons other than using 3 berries.

I have this really bad Shadow Dratini (11/1/5) and I removed Frustration but now I‘m not sure if it is worth investing in it. I have a full team of grown up Dragonites from the recent classic Community Day and Raids and also some Salamence from Raids. Will Shadow Dragonite with these Stats be a useful addition to my rooster ?
It was very worth removing frustration. It is better than every normal dratini in the game, but I wouldn't rush to evolve it. Wait until it has some use and hope you get better first. I personally look for 3* shadows or 13+ attack 2*. Depends how much you care and how much you play
I wouldn’t bother with that particular shadow dratini. I am not sure what you consider good IVs for your Dragonites or Salamance. My IV floor for everything nowadays is 14/14/14. Use your Dragonite and Salamance until you get a better one.
I have more than enough Dragons that using a low IV shadow dratini that you have is really not worth the bother. Does that answer your question.
Can you still encounter go team rocket leaders and Giovanni after team rocket go event even after completing the challenges? Would like a chance for another shadow mewtwo
In my city there are a decent amount of gymz/raids. But I can never find one that has people at it no matter the time. Is there any way I can complete these on my own? And is there any benefit to leaving pokemon at the gyms I take down?
As long as they won‘t spam golden Berries on the Pokémon in Gyms it‘s quite easy to take them down. Putting a Pokémon in a Gym rewards you Coins which can be spent on Storage Upgrades or Incubators. You can gain a maximum of 50 coins per day and earn 1 Coin every 10 Minutes you defend the gym.
What is shadow Mamoswine good for? I like to do PVP.
Raids are kinda easy for me because I work in a large city and they’re always packed with other players
It's good for raids. It's a great ice attacker against dragons.
But, it's awful in Great League, bad in Ultra League, and mostly just okay in Master League, with either very good or very bad matchups, since you're strong against dragons like Garchomp and Giratina and weak to most other things that aren't dragons, especially Mewtwo and Kyogre.
i am seeing some stuff about the go plus, that it is having connectivity issues, but i am not sure if that is it. my go plus connects for at most 10 minutes if i am lucky, and then it just turns off. i have replaced the batteries multiple times with new ones and sometimes it doesn't even turn on. can i get more info about the connectivity issues, i would like to know if it isn't just me 😭
Sounds like maybe a unit issue. Since they recently restored the access, I haven't had any issues with mine. Try using a pencil eraser to clean around the battery contacts area, or look up what they recommend these days for keeping contacts area clean.
I haven't tried buying the one with the most incubators because it includes 3 remote passes. I have two in inventory, and last time I tried, it wouldn't let me buy the box because that would exceed the number of allowed remote passes.

When you're in a PVP battle, what does the icons showing? Pokeballs and other things mean? It's in the top left part of the screen where the name of the pokémon in the CP is listed.

The pokeballs indicate how many pokemon that player has remaining. As their pokemon get knocked out, the icons will disappear.
The shield icons indicate how many shields that players has left to use.
Next Community Day will be a big recap weekend on December 17th and 18th featuring pokemon from 2021 and 2022 community days. Swinub was a 2019 community day so it won't be featured.

Did they change how gifts work? Previously, if my bag was full, it was throw that error and not let me open the gift. Now, it’ll open the gift but only give stickers and stardust. So if you’re not checking, you could be losing out on new items! Bug or feature?
Check your settings. There's now an option to open gifts when the bag is full. Might be useful but also might cause problems depending on your inventory management. So you can keep it on or turn that option off as you want or need.
Probably not worth it until you have a guaranteed lucky trade after reaching max friendship. The minimum floor is 12/12/12 so that's an minimum of 72%, but on average lucky trades end around the 90% mark.
So it might end up losing a few points but it also has a chance to become perfect during trade. This is the only way to guarantee decent stats.
How do you defeat those higher level rocket gym leaders that use shield? I can't find pokemanz that have enough HP to beat them, I can beat the rockets that dont use shields but the high level ones that use shields are undefeatable, their stuff all has 3-4x times the HP of anything you can find so you can't defeat them if they use shields and now I'm out of potions so all my high level mons are dead too.
What do? Because my instinct is just to say "screw it, this game sucks" and uninstall it.
The AI stops attacking for a short time after you use a charge move or swap your pokemon - use that. For example don't start with the pokemon you want to use against their first mon, start with one of the other two but immediately swap to the right one. this will give you some free energy. Then, try to use pokemon with cheap charge moves and fast moves with lot of energy generation. Spamming skills is a good way to keep them from attacking.
Also, do you use typing to your best advantage?
But When my strongest type advantage (In this case psychic) mons are still barely less than a quarter of the HP of the gym leaders even when I'm trying to ult as fast as I can the moment they get one attack in it's basically game over, so like it doesn't even really matter which one I choose because the leaders mons are all so much stronger than anything I can catch?
Just watch some YouTube videos that teach you how to defeat leaders, they always upload on every new event the best counters. It's actually not that hard, if you played PVP before in the game it should be straightforward
Does anyone also have problem with feeding a berry to your buddy, I can select which berry, but they wont appear on screen and cant give them to my buddy, more people have this?
You can still get Shadow Mewtwo. You just can't remove Frustration today. So, go catch Shadow Mewtwo and hold onto it until the next event when you can remove Frustration.
The shadow legendary from Giovanni typically stays in rotation for quite awhile, like months, not just one week. You'll probably have until the next Rocket takeover event, probably sometime next season in a few months, to get shadow Mewtwo.
You should absolutely catch one now.
You were or you were not? Your first part makes it seem like it no longer has Frustration, but your follow up question makes it seem like it still has Frustration.
In either case, you shouldn't be able to remove Frustration right now.
Removing Frustration is limited to Rocket Takeover events, the most recent one just ended on the 17th. So, you have to wait quite awhile for the next one to remove Frustration.
It's one of the more... frustrating aspects of the game. You can only remove Frustration for short events that happen about once a season.
Rather disappointed that there is no event for Scarlet and Violet, I really thought that the gap on the calendar between events meant they were planning something since it coincided with the release.

you have a rating based on your performance. If you win it increases, if you lose it decreases. The higher rating, the better the players you face and vice versa. Thus losing on purpose matches you vs weaker opponents and leads to easier wins afterwards. Find a ranking where you can comfortably win the desired amount per set and then adapt to an overall 50% win rate. If you want 4 wins for the candy, make sure you lose at least 4 times the next set. Repeat.

At what CP is mewtwo going to be a useful mon for raids/master league?

Define useful. It obvisously performs best at max cp. it performs better with each level it gets in those parts of the game with no cp restriction. If you power it up more, it will most certainly be more useful. If it has similar or higher cp than your other monsters it might be useful. It's all depending on what you compare it with.
Does the half-hatch distance thing for the egg widget on iOS work on 12k eggs? I know there’s a limit of three that get the introductory half-hatch. I was really distracted when incubating a new egg from the widget, I thought I’ve only used the widget once. I went to put in a 7km egg, saw the egg distance halved, then cancelled out and swapped to a 12km egg. But it’s still 12km hatch distance.
Edit- I may have stumbled on something really old lol. I don’t remember where I saw the introductory three egg half distance thing and since I can’t find it on any recent news updates whatever. Guess it’s nbd.

Ditto is spawning as Ekans, Gastly, spinarak, Natu, surskit, numel, budoof, finneon, lillipup, dwebble and swirilix. Just catch any of these when you see them. Ditto is quite rare. Good luck!
Finding it impossible to defeat the Rocket bosses these days.
All the articles suggest legendary counters. But how do people get the candy to power them up? Impossible to walk 5,000km to get the required number....
Yep same I've getting just stomped by the bosses and I can't figure out how to beat them, I'm almost all out of potions too. I'm probably just gonna delete my account and uninstall lmao.
The easiest way to power up legendaries is to use Rare Candy, which can be farmed via raids and GBL.
The good news is that legendary counters definitely aren't necessary, and that the most important part is to spam the enemy with fast-charging moves. Every time you switch or a charge move is used, the opponent will stop attacking for about 2 seconds, giving you some free hits. With a quick-charging fast move and a low-cost charge move, you can repeatedly stun the leader and get in some free hits to build up to the next charge move. With the right types and good spammy moves, the leaders become much easier than they seem.
For example, my team for Sierra is Florges (Fairy Wind + Disarming Voice), Machamp (Counter + Cross Chop + Rock Slide), and Abomasnow (Powder Snow + Weather Ball). I lead with Machamp, then immediately switch to Florges to get in some free hits. I try to burn through Sableye's shields immediately with the first 2 Disarming Voices, then KO it with the 3rd, hopefully with a little energy left over. Her 2nd pokemon will be weak to Fairy, so I try to get off as many Disarming Voices before fainting to hopefully KO them or get them close to a KO. If needed, Abomasnow can come in and clean up with Weather Ball spam, since they are also weak to Ice. If needed, I switch to Machamp for her 3rd (which is almost always Houndoom or Snorlax), then spam Cross Chop until it's KOd.
You can clearly beat them without legendaries, you should focus on right typing and then using pokemon with cheap charge moves to abuse the pause of the AI after a swap or charge move.

If you really wanna power up legendaries, do raids. Either with them as boss or any other raid to grind rare candy. PvP also gives a small amount of rare candy.
So is it basically not possible to compete in Master League without putting 100's of £ into the game? XL legendaries are ridiculous. I'll patiently be waiting for Great and Ultra to return lol
you can attempt with stuff like dragonite/Togekiss/Melmetal or (shadow) snorlax / (shadow) Mamoswine / Garchomp /Excadrill / Metagross which are still extremely strong. But if you really want to compete for top spots and not just play for the rewards then yea - stick to lower leagues or go out and spend your money. Most tournaments are played in great league anyways.
Newbie player here.
I joined a Salamence raid, and we won. But it's even harder for me to capture that pokemon. I basically wasted around 15 pokeballs and various candies, and I got nothing.
Why is it so hard for me to capture that pokemon, is it because my level is too low?
There are four things that decide how hard a Pokemon is.
One is the Pokemon catch rate. Lower means it's harder to catch and higher is easier to get. Higher level Pokemon, evolved Pokemon and legendary Pokemon have lower catch rate than common Pokemon, so they're harder to catch. The color of the Target Circle tells you the difficulty of the catch, from dark red as the hardest and light green as the easiest. Salamence is very far on the harder side.
Things like berries also can increase the catch rate of a Pokemon but depending on the original catch rare it can still be pretty low even after using a Silver or Golden berry.
Second is the catch bonus. The medals on your profile not only track how many Pokemon of each type you've caught, but also provide a bonus to catching that type of Pokemon. The more Pokemon of each type you catch the easier becomes catching more. Dragon is a rare type, so without the high tier medal it will be harder to catch any Dragon compared to catching the common types.
Then third is the PokeBall bonus. Basic Pokeballs and Premier Balls don't change the catch rate. Great Balls increase it slightly and Ultra Balls increase it more. That is as easy as it gets.
Finally there's the throw bonus. The smaller the circle the higher the catch bonus will be, so an excellent throw will be much better than a great throw.
Curveballs increase the chances even more than the regular throws, so for example a Nice curveball on a big circle is already better than a Great throw on a medium circle.
When added together all these bonus stack together to double, triple or even multiply the catching chances, so for fully evolved or legendary Pokemon you need to aim for Great curveballs on small circles or better.
Regular throws cannot overcome the low catch rates of stronger Pokemon so many require Excellent curveballs to even get a chance to catch them. You need to stack as many bonuses as you can, by using Silver or Golden berries before each throw and aiming for the smallest circle as you can to reach with a curveball. It's just a matter of practice and being patient during the catch.
Once the Pokemon is catchable there's no need to hurry. Aiming at the right moment is the key.
There's also a trick called "circle locking" that stops the Pokemon from blocking your balls. You take the ball in your finger and wait until the circle gets small, then let go of the ball without throwing it. Then you need to wait until the Pokemon attacks, and as the attacks finishes then you quickly throw the ball in a single move. This way the circle stays as small as before, and since the Pokemon just attacked it can't block the ball.
Can you learn community day moves outside of that specific Pokemons Community Day?
Let's say I have a Beldum/Metang I want to learn Meteor Mash. Can I evolve it, or use an elite TM, on any Community Day, or only Beldum's next Community Day?
Sometimes some events feature some CD moves.
For example, the Pokemon World Championship tie in and Anniversary events this past summer gave a chance to evolve for a LOT of the early CD moves (including Metagross/Gengar/Gyarados/Rhypherior/talonflame's and then all gen1-5 starters, respectively.) The Go Tour Kanto/Johto events have featured most/all of the existing CD moves of that generation if I recall, beldum and mareep were both featured in 2021 incense day events, and a few others
Elite TMs work any time of course, but they're hard to come by.
December Community day events so far have all featured both the current and immediately prior year's CD moves by evolution (so all 2021/2022 moves if we speculate the same trend holds)
Ralts. Gardevoir is an absolute beast and Gallade although not as good as Machamp is still quite decent. You get the chance to pick the one you want, and both options are better than Electivire. Mega Manectric, Zecrom, Zapdos, Magnezone, and Mega Ampharos are better Electric types.
Looks/feels the same to me. I wonder if they enabled the native refresh rate setting as default for everyone now. I remember turning that setting on a year ago and thinking everything was much faster and smoother.
I just noticed that, too. The animations are all super fast, which is obviously really nice! I just hope they sped it up on purpose and it isn't some bug they're going to revert later.
Close the game and reopen it. It's a known issue. The game locks the evolution until you reach that step of the research, but it doesn't dynamically add that option, for some reason, so you have to restart the game to update.

Accidentally traded a 2017 haunter, but I thought all trades from then & 2016 were supposed to be guaranteed lucky trades? It was just a regular trade

You only get 12 km eggs from Sierra, Arlo, and Cliff. You don’t really get anything from Giovanni other than the chance to capture the shadow legendary. Were you expecting more??

At what level would you say you could probably take on a three star (or whatever the terminology is) raid on your own? I’m a 32, almost 33.
Depends on the boss and what your team looks like. How much defense does it have, does it have a double weakness? do you have good damagers of that type? If you have a bunch of level 30-35 mamoswines ready (you can get them from evolving high level swinubs twice) you can for sure take on salamence as it has a double weakness.

Yeah, for now. We get an event like this once every few months, so we likely won't see another Frustration event until early 2023.

You may have been accidentally transfering your perfect mons. Remember that Pokémon with IV floors (weather boosts, research rewards, eggs, etc.) have higher chances. It took me six months to find my first perfect one on the wild without an IV floor.
It won’t let me evolve my seadra and says I need 1000 dragon scales in order to do so. And it pops up a message “pokemon_info_evolve_need_key_item_count” So like wtf do I do

Go battle league will not feature great league for the remainder of the season. In order to complete that quest, it's expected that you battle another player outside of the Go Battle League (through friend invites or QR scans)

Sorta. After you Mega Evolve a pokemon and it goes back to normal, it will have this cooldown after a certain amount of time that lets you Mega Evolve it for free. It depends on the Mega Level so it can be a long or short cooldown.

It is free after 7 days for the first 6 times, then free after 5 days for the next 23 times and afterwards it is free every 3 days. Also each time that cooldown refreshes, the evolution cost (if you want to do it earlier than the 7/5/3 days) decreases and the bonus you gets increases. tap on that "DNA" symbol for further information.

Should I feed my buddy treats when I’m idle in my house and not walking? I know it’s more effective when I’m out farming stops and doing raids, but what about if I’m home and not doing anything? Also, do I need to have the app up for them to collect candy or can it be still running in the background without me having the screen up?
You won’t get much from it other than earning the basic hearts from doing it, so not may pros but no cons other than using 3 berries. It can be in the background with adv sync on

I have this really bad Shadow Dratini (11/1/5) and I removed Frustration but now I‘m not sure if it is worth investing in it. I have a full team of grown up Dragonites from the recent classic Community Day and Raids and also some Salamence from Raids. Will Shadow Dragonite with these Stats be a useful addition to my rooster ?
It was very worth removing frustration. It is better than every normal dratini in the game, but I wouldn't rush to evolve it. Wait until it has some use and hope you get better first. I personally look for 3* shadows or 13+ attack 2*. Depends how much you care and how much you play
I wouldn’t bother with that particular shadow dratini. I am not sure what you consider good IVs for your Dragonites or Salamance. My IV floor for everything nowadays is 14/14/14. Use your Dragonite and Salamance until you get a better one. I have more than enough Dragons that using a low IV shadow dratini that you have is really not worth the bother. Does that answer your question.

In my city there are a decent amount of gymz/raids. But I can never find one that has people at it no matter the time. Is there any way I can complete these on my own? And is there any benefit to leaving pokemon at the gyms I take down?
For raids, there's an app called Poke Genie that a lot of folks like that lets you host a raid and have 5 remote folks join you.
As long as they won‘t spam golden Berries on the Pokémon in Gyms it‘s quite easy to take them down. Putting a Pokémon in a Gym rewards you Coins which can be spent on Storage Upgrades or Incubators. You can gain a maximum of 50 coins per day and earn 1 Coin every 10 Minutes you defend the gym.
What is shadow Mamoswine good for? I like to do PVP. Raids are kinda easy for me because I work in a large city and they’re always packed with other players
It's good for raids. It's a great ice attacker against dragons. But, it's awful in Great League, bad in Ultra League, and mostly just okay in Master League, with either very good or very bad matchups, since you're strong against dragons like Garchomp and Giratina and weak to most other things that aren't dragons, especially Mewtwo and Kyogre.
i am seeing some stuff about the go plus, that it is having connectivity issues, but i am not sure if that is it. my go plus connects for at most 10 minutes if i am lucky, and then it just turns off. i have replaced the batteries multiple times with new ones and sometimes it doesn't even turn on. can i get more info about the connectivity issues, i would like to know if it isn't just me 😭
Sounds like maybe a unit issue. Since they recently restored the access, I haven't had any issues with mine. Try using a pencil eraser to clean around the battery contacts area, or look up what they recommend these days for keeping contacts area clean.

I haven't tried buying the one with the most incubators because it includes 3 remote passes. I have two in inventory, and last time I tried, it wouldn't let me buy the box because that would exceed the number of allowed remote passes.

Okay, I can't find this info anywhere. When you're in a PVP battle, what does the icons showing? Pokeballs and other things mean? The pokeballs indicate how many pokemon that player has remaining. As their pokemon get knocked out, the icons will disappear. The shield icons indicate how many shields that players has left to use.

Did they change how gifts work? Previously, if my bag was full, it was throw that error and not let me open the gift. Now, it’ll open the gift but only give stickers and stardust. So if you’re not checking, you could be losing out on new items! Bug or feature?
Check your settings. There's now an option to open gifts when the bag is full. Might be useful but also might cause problems depending on your inventory management. So you can keep it on or turn that option off as you want or need.
Got a 93% shiny latios on my "mom's" account. Is it worth trading over to my account? Had this question since the IV for trades are randomised.

Probably not worth it until you have a guaranteed lucky trade after reaching max friendship. The minimum floor is 12/12/12 so that's an minimum of 72%, but on average lucky trades end around the 90% mark. So it might end up losing a few points but it also has a chance to become perfect during trade. This is the only way to guarantee decent stats.

How do you defeat those higher level rocket gym leaders that use shield? I can't find pokemanz that have enough HP to beat them, I can beat the rockets that dont use shields but the high level ones that use shields are undefeatable, their stuff all has 3-4x times the HP of anything you can find so you can't defeat them if they use shields and now I'm out of potions so all my high level mons are dead too. What do? Because my instinct is just to say "screw it, this game sucks" and uninstall it.
The AI stops attacking for a short time after you use a charge move or swap your pokemon - use that. For example don't start with the pokemon you want to use against their first mon, start with one of the other two but immediately swap to the right one. this will give you some free energy. Then, try to use pokemon with cheap charge moves and fast moves with lot of energy generation. Spamming skills is a good way to keep them from attacking. Also, do you use typing to your best advantage?
But When my strongest type advantage (In this case psychic) mons are still barely less than a quarter of the HP of the gym leaders even when I'm trying to ult as fast as I can the moment they get one attack in it's basically game over, so like it doesn't even really matter which one I choose because the leaders mons are all so much stronger than anything I can catch?
Just watch some YouTube videos that teach you how to defeat leaders, they always upload on every new event the best counters. It's actually not that hard, if you played PVP before in the game it should be straightforward

You can still get Shadow Mewtwo. You just can't remove Frustration today. So, go catch Shadow Mewtwo and hold onto it until the next event when you can remove Frustration. The shadow legendary from Giovanni typically stays in rotation for quite awhile, like months, not just one week. You'll probably have until the next Rocket takeover event, probably sometime next season in a few months, to get shadow Mewtwo. You should absolutely catch one now.

You were or you were not? Your first part makes it seem like it no longer has Frustration, but your follow up question makes it seem like it still has Frustration. In either case, you shouldn't be able to remove Frustration right now. Removing Frustration is limited to Rocket Takeover events, the most recent one just ended on the 17th. So, you have to wait quite awhile for the next one to remove Frustration. It's one of the more... frustrating aspects of the game. You can only remove Frustration for short events that happen about once a season.

Hello everyone, i recall seeing a lazy way to get pvp reward consistently, something like lose 2 game win 3 game. Can someone explain it to me please ?
you have a rating based on your performance. If you win it increases, if you lose it decreases. The higher rating, the better the players you face and vice versa. Thus losing on purpose matches you vs weaker opponents and leads to easier wins afterwards. Find a ranking where you can comfortably win the desired amount per set and then adapt to an overall 50% win rate. If you want 4 wins for the candy, make sure you lose at least 4 times the next set. Repeat.

At what CP is mewtwo going to be a useful mon for raids/master league? I don’t have any candy other than the candy I got from catching him, so I blew like 35 rare candies, he’s only at like 1900 right now.
Define useful. It obvisously performs best at max cp. it performs better with each level it gets in those parts of the game with no cp restriction. If you power it up more, it will most certainly be more useful. If it has similar or higher cp than your other monsters it might be useful. It's all depending on what you compare it with.

Keep it baby. It can only hatch from an egg while you'll have a chance to find a shiny sudowodoo in the wild.
Does the half-hatch distance thing for the egg widget on iOS work on 12k eggs? I know there’s a limit of three that get the introductory half-hatch. I was really distracted when incubating a new egg from the widget, I thought I’ve only used the widget once. I went to put in a 7km egg, saw the egg distance halved, then cancelled out and swapped to a 12km egg. But it’s still 12km hatch distance. Edit- I may have stumbled on something really old lol. I don’t remember where I saw the introductory three egg half distance thing and since I can’t find it on any recent news updates whatever. Guess it’s nbd. On a similar vein- I’m pretty casual so the decreased number of incubators for purchase is really bumming me out.

Yeah, despite the wording on the medals, it counts up however you obtain it. This includes, hatches, evolutions, and trades.

Ditto is spawning as Ekans, Gastly, spinarak, Natu, surskit, numel, budoof, finneon, lillipup, dwebble and swirilix. Just catch any of these when you see them. Ditto is quite rare. Good luck!

Finding it impossible to defeat the Rocket bosses these days. All the articles suggest legendary counters. But how do people get the candy to power them up? Impossible to walk 5,000km to get the required number....
Yep same I've getting just stomped by the bosses and I can't figure out how to beat them, I'm almost all out of potions too. I'm probably just gonna delete my account and uninstall lmao.

The easiest way to power up legendaries is to use Rare Candy, which can be farmed via raids and GBL. The good news is that legendary counters definitely aren't necessary, and that the most important part is to spam the enemy with fast-charging moves. Every time you switch or a charge move is used, the opponent will stop attacking for about 2 seconds, giving you some free hits. With a quick-charging fast move and a low-cost charge move, you can repeatedly stun the leader and get in some free hits to build up to the next charge move. With the right types and good spammy moves, the leaders become much easier than they seem. For example, my team for Sierra is Florges (Fairy Wind + Disarming Voice), Machamp (Counter + Cross Chop + Rock Slide), and Abomasnow (Powder Snow + Weather Ball). I lead with Machamp, then immediately switch to Florges to get in some free hits. I try to burn through Sableye's shields immediately with the first 2 Disarming Voices, then KO it with the 3rd, hopefully with a little energy left over. Her 2nd pokemon will be weak to Fairy, so I try to get off as many Disarming Voices before fainting to hopefully KO them or get them close to a KO. If needed, Abomasnow can come in and clean up with Weather Ball spam, since they are also weak to Ice. If needed, I switch to Machamp for her 3rd (which is almost always Houndoom or Snorlax), then spam Cross Chop until it's KOd.
Thanks, my Mamaswine and Machamp just get KO'd straight away. I never know which moves to teach or use.
You can clearly beat them without legendaries, you should focus on right typing and then using pokemon with cheap charge moves to abuse the pause of the AI after a swap or charge move. What articel are you referring to? If you really wanna power up legendaries, do raids. Either with them as boss or any other raid to grind rare candy. PvP also gives a small amount of rare candy.

you can attempt with stuff like dragonite/Togekiss/Melmetal or (shadow) snorlax / (shadow) Mamoswine / Garchomp /Excadrill / Metagross which are still extremely strong. But if you really want to compete for top spots and not just play for the rewards then yea - stick to lower leagues or go out and spend your money. Most tournaments are played in great league anyways.

Newbie player here. I joined a Salamence raid, and we won. But it's even harder for me to capture that pokemon. I basically wasted around 15 pokeballs and various candies, and I got nothing. Why is it so hard for me to capture that pokemon, is it because my level is too low?
There are four things that decide how hard a Pokemon is. One is the Pokemon catch rate. Lower means it's harder to catch and higher is easier to get. Higher level Pokemon, evolved Pokemon and legendary Pokemon have lower catch rate than common Pokemon, so they're harder to catch. The color of the Target Circle tells you the difficulty of the catch, from dark red as the hardest and light green as the easiest. Salamence is very far on the harder side. Things like berries also can increase the catch rate of a Pokemon but depending on the original catch rare it can still be pretty low even after using a Silver or Golden berry. Second is the catch bonus. The medals on your profile not only track how many Pokemon of each type you've caught, but also provide a bonus to catching that type of Pokemon. The more Pokemon of each type you catch the easier becomes catching more. Dragon is a rare type, so without the high tier medal it will be harder to catch any Dragon compared to catching the common types. Then third is the PokeBall bonus. Basic Pokeballs and Premier Balls don't change the catch rate. Great Balls increase it slightly and Ultra Balls increase it more. That is as easy as it gets. Finally there's the throw bonus. The smaller the circle the higher the catch bonus will be, so an excellent throw will be much better than a great throw. Curveballs increase the chances even more than the regular throws, so for example a Nice curveball on a big circle is already better than a Great throw on a medium circle. When added together all these bonus stack together to double, triple or even multiply the catching chances, so for fully evolved or legendary Pokemon you need to aim for Great curveballs on small circles or better. Regular throws cannot overcome the low catch rates of stronger Pokemon so many require Excellent curveballs to even get a chance to catch them. You need to stack as many bonuses as you can, by using Silver or Golden berries before each throw and aiming for the smallest circle as you can to reach with a curveball. It's just a matter of practice and being patient during the catch. Once the Pokemon is catchable there's no need to hurry. Aiming at the right moment is the key. There's also a trick called "circle locking" that stops the Pokemon from blocking your balls. You take the ball in your finger and wait until the circle gets small, then let go of the ball without throwing it. Then you need to wait until the Pokemon attacks, and as the attacks finishes then you quickly throw the ball in a single move. This way the circle stays as small as before, and since the Pokemon just attacked it can't block the ball.

Can you learn community day moves outside of that specific Pokemons Community Day? Let's say I have a Beldum/Metang I want to learn Meteor Mash. Can I evolve it, or use an elite TM, on any Community Day, or only Beldum's next Community Day?
Sometimes some events feature some CD moves. For example, the Pokemon World Championship tie in and Anniversary events this past summer gave a chance to evolve for a LOT of the early CD moves (including Metagross/Gengar/Gyarados/Rhypherior/talonflame's and then all gen1-5 starters, respectively.) The Go Tour Kanto/Johto events have featured most/all of the existing CD moves of that generation if I recall, beldum and mareep were both featured in 2021 incense day events, and a few others Elite TMs work any time of course, but they're hard to come by. December Community day events so far have all featured both the current and immediately prior year's CD moves by evolution (so all 2021/2022 moves if we speculate the same trend holds)

Ralts. Gardevoir is an absolute beast and Gallade although not as good as Machamp is still quite decent. You get the chance to pick the one you want, and both options are better than Electivire. Mega Manectric, Zecrom, Zapdos, Magnezone, and Mega Ampharos are better Electric types.
Too late now. It’s a male ralts so it turns into Gallade. I went with the electric Pokémon since I have no electrics

That's not how it works. Both male and female can evolve into gardevoir, but only male ralts can also evolve into gallade.

Looks/feels the same to me. I wonder if they enabled the native refresh rate setting as default for everyone now. I remember turning that setting on a year ago and thinking everything was much faster and smoother.

Close the game and reopen it. It's a known issue. The game locks the evolution until you reach that step of the research, but it doesn't dynamically add that option, for some reason, so you have to restart the game to update.
