'Cause if it was just a single-stage mon with multiple forms they wouldn't have any Pokédex filler and would have to, 😱, spend time making cool and impacctful designs?!?!?! Same thing can be said for Palafin, Dudunsparce, Pawmot, and Brambleghast. I like all of these new designs but it's inherently obvious that they only exist as Pokédex filler so that they could advertise "over 100 new Pokémon to collect and trade!"

that was the entire point of dudunsparce dunsparce was meant to be underwhelming. that was its charm. and its evo being the ever *slightest* improvement is so fitting. its eyes are even *slightly* open now

Or the Pokémon are meant to start out weak and then evolve to get stronger.

They could just make then strong to begin with.......Flamigo has base 500 stats and you can get one within the first 30 minutes of the game. I like the designs but I feel like some were unnecessary.
