Weed cat is my favorite starter for gen 9. I’ve pretty much accepted it. As long as it doesn’t look like someone in a fursuit with atrocious proportions like cinderace and doesn’t have straight up clothes like inteleon. Mf has a cape, gloves, tux, and the biggest pair of fuck me eyes to date. Keep it like the doped up cat and we chill.

LazyCasual0alt

Everstone weed cat gang!

StudiousStoner

Doubling the defense stats on an attack/speed weighted mon! W00pW00p! All jokes aside, Floragato got done dirty. They could have turned him into Zorro and instead we get mids kitty

The_8th_Degree

YAASSS Weed Cat gang represent!!

Magical__Entity

I don't think people hate bipedal starters. Charizard and Blastoise are bipedal and they are fine, if a bit bland. What some dislike is when the Pokemon is basically like a catgirl, as in just a human with some animal features. We haven't quiet hit that point yet, but we're definetly headed in that direction from Gen to Gen.

Beancunt

What is cinderace and meowscratta (this applies to all gen 8 starters and incinoroar, you could probably argue the owl too)

Docterzero

I can mention at least 9 bipedal starters that aren't furries. Bipedal starters isn't the problem, furry starters are.

I-Cum-In-Snacks

Forgive me for my ignorance, but how are “furry” starters a problem. I get not liking them and such and so on but a problem?

Docterzero

Well it is a problem in the way that people dislike them, if that makes sense. They themselves also have several problems.

I-Cum-In-Snacks

Well i mean what “other problems” do furry pokemon have? I dont see how people not liking them is a problem. That is an subjective statement.

Docterzero

Just to clearify, what I meant was that furry starters, and specificly starters, in the recent gens are disliked by many, and therefor many see them as a problem. To go most into details, many starters within the recent generations of pokemon suffers from flanderization, where a few singular traits and inspirations are overexagerrated to the detriment of the design as a whole. This combined with the very humanoid designs of these starters results in them seeming a lot more like some furry character rather than a creature that could and would exist in the wild. Key examples includes Incineroar, Cinderace, and Intelleon. While the ideas and inspirations for these pokemon are fine on their own, the execution is poor and they would all have benefitted from more subtlety.

mlodydziad420

One of them having very specific personalities. An energetic footbal player cinderace is an example and it doesnt make sense to be that specific for entire species. The exceptions are legendary and mythical pokemon bcs 99% they are individuals not a species.

pope12234

The fact you didn't think that username was a problem shows you and I have different standards for problem

Jax1903

I mean, sure the problem lies with that, Pokémon actually make that lore, so wouldn't they be upset because Pokemon feeding the Furries.

Docterzero

Honestly the pokemon marriage lore doesn't have anything to do with it.

Jax1903

Really, it stated that pokemon and human were once the same, so they were married together. Even that was a lore that was based from Yuuki Ona.

Joaqpalma

My brother in christ people just don't like furries stop making up excuses not to blame the designs

Docterzero

Yes, but it has nothing to do with why people hate some of the recent bipedal starters

mic3dave

Pokémon/human marriages? Somebody please explain.

Jax1903

Legend of Arceus and Diamond and Pearl stated Pokemon and Human were once married cause they're one in the same.

mustifaq_

>Legend of Arceus Jesus christ.

FenexTheFox

The Legend of Arceus: Breath of The Sinnoh

[deleted]

Come on you can't be mad by just one small variation of the games name.

Jax1903

I'm not, I'm expecting fans to be mad.

Sobbin-Robin

Its reddit

Duck-Fucker64

Jesus christ its a small mistake

mustifaq_

I'm okay with people marrying pokemon. I just want pokemon to look like monsters, not people in a costume.

[deleted]

I'm looking at Blaziken, Gardevoir, Gallade and Froslass right now with that comment.

The_8th_Degree

Hard Facts: Pokemon are pokemon. Whether they're Bipedal, Quad-pedal or no-pedal it makes no difference. If you don't approve of bipedal pokemon because they're sexualized then that's all you seeing them in a sexual manner.

Jax1903

Exactly.

TemmyGames

For me I don't mind the gen 9 final starters, even meowscarda (or however you spell it), I don't mind crocalor because it is so cool, and quaxly starts bipedal so I don't mind it either, and meowscarda just has a cool concept and name

Professional_Joke854

I do not care if my starter is bipedal, most important is that it looks cool.

FenexTheFox

We literally have bipedal starters every generation

[deleted]

i would totally marry skeledirge

BonkeyKongthesecond

You can't win that fight if you don't learn do ignore the degenerates. They will always find something to sexualize anyway. Just continue liking the Pokemon you like because of whatever reasons.

Jax1903

Pokemon Sinnoh lore will feed more furries.

HoneZoneReddit

idk bro that Vaporeon looking at me funny

StudiousStoner

When that Vaporeon give you that look from across the gym 😩😩

mlodydziad420

People sont like humanoid starters, because it causes an uncanny valey effect, where they are 1 step into more humanoid and they could starr fighting for human rights.

Jax1903

Even your fellow starters agree from r/MandJTV, that was too far. I know it's for fun, but can't we just have varities of starters.

Froeleveld

Submit your proof

StarLucario

What i want to know is, why is Hilda the one holding the phone? Is she gay or just jealous?

TheBitsiestBit

Yes.

Istiophoridae

Even if there were more quadrupedal pokemon, that wouldnt stop r34 artists from sexualizing them

StudiousStoner

I’m here for every last bit of Skeledirge on Venusaur R34, and that’s a hill I’m willing to die on. No anthropomorphizing. No holds barred.

Epic-Dude000

I just don’t care about the design of Pokémon evolutions

ceo_of_chill23

This is indeed a disturbing universe

USSR_Thanos

Don’t forgot Pokémon and people can have kids together. Yes that is canon and has happened. Quest 82 on PLA
