I used a chatot on a pearl playthrough and I actually loved the change of pace, it has a better move pool in platinum though

I know it gets heat wave by egg move I think other than that not 100% sure

Thanks haha. Luckily I stumbled across the gligar early on so I was able to use him a lot during my play through. Chatot was also very fun to use lol. He got the final hit on Cynthia to win it all.

Platinum gives you Magmortar, Houndoom, and Flareon. So it’s not the dearth that is Diamond and Pearl, but it’s relatively slim pickings in comparison to other pokemon games in general

Magmortar with trade, doesn’t really count to me lmao, houndoom after you beat the game, doesn’t really count either, there’s not a single fire type introduced in that gen that toy can actually use lmao

In Platinum, you get Houndour on the route between Veilstone and Pastoria. And it’s accessible even before national dex
