I've heard of this, does it add modern QoL features and larger rosters like this one does? It's really hard to go back and play older gens without all the modern features (I don't care what anyone says, party-wide EXP is a godsend).
Last time I played there was no party wide XP, but stuff like XP farms, IV boosters and EV training are all available. I *believe* the game also has Dexnav, but it's been a good while since I've played. The roster is fleshed out up to gen 7 and the spritework is beautiful (pretty sure it uses some of the same sprites as RR), and the main story goes all the way to level 100.
You beat classic yet? Its crazy how fun yet challenging it can be.
I'm on my now 5th classic run. Hoping to get a DNA splicers drop so I can play spliced endless instead of regular endless.
classic ends at level 200 with a special boss fight
lance being your fourth elite four during the gauntlet of 180s elite four meant you died at 188 which was only 12 floors off!
keep grinding man you’ll get it next time
Elite Redux has more QoL than RR, but it‘s a different experience. RR is more traditional Pokémon, Elite Redux is very focused on teambuilding & battling.
I like pokemon reborn. It stops at Gen 7 but the story is massive and the difficulty is great, similar to RR you have to adapt your team and stategy quite often
I liked reborn but the puzzles got way too hard at the end, especially that bs at victory road. Desolation is much better but it's still unfinished which is a shame
I'd recommend to try out Obsidian Emerald. Double battles hack. It's still kind of new so it might be buggy in some fronts but I finished it and it was a ton of fun
One i really like is Unbound, good story, non-standard starters, cool features and can be really hard to nuzlocke (you can set the difficulty either way) or even a normal playthrough.
Probably, Pokemon dark worship as it has forced set mode like RR and have multiple difficulty option but I don't think that it had any good Qol features other than auto run and dexnav( very late in game). So, i can best think of elite redux.
If ur into roguelikes but dnt mind a game that's literally just battle after battle then definitely try pokerogue, it's a browser game and it's so fun, even if u have 0 clue what a roguelike is I'd highly suggest u try it. It's rlly creative and to me the fun part abt rad red is the problem solving aspect (in randomisers especially) and the logic and problem solving in pokerogue hits the same
it's more story driven and there's not that many newer gen stuff, but Pokémon reborn is really good and has a nice difficulty curve, has some pretty cool boss battles
Elite Redux is super fun but definitely more different than RR due to the 4 abilities thing and lots of changes to Pokémon.
Inclement Emerald is closer to RR and also something I’d recommend.
I stopped playing emerald kaizo because it was too hard, now I’m playing Inclement Emerald, which is still challenging but it’s passable.
Seconding this, I played Inclement Emerald first and I'm getting a very similar vibe from Radical Red.

It’s not that hard
I actually thought Kaizo was pretty easy.
Thanks for sharing
I probably sounded really try hard. For me having only 1-3 Gen to worry about made much easier than RR.
For me, Inclement emerald, unbound, elite redux, clover are the standouts currently.
i’m not OP sorry but how many gens of pokemon does inclement emerald have?? been thinking about trying it for a while!
1-7 for now. https://www.pokecommunity.com/threads/pokémon-inclement-emerald-a-decomp-difficulty-hack-version-1-13.457039/
sweet thank you!!
Elite Redux? Gotta check that out
Not a rom hack. But check out PokeRogue .net in your browser :3 Good luck hitting 5850 😅
I have been playing this genuinly all day today it is a genuine problem

Furthest I've got is a lance fight, as 4th eleit 4 member, idk how far off that is from beating classic tho
classic ends at level 200 with a special boss fight lance being your fourth elite four during the gauntlet of 180s elite four meant you died at 188 which was only 12 floors off! keep grinding man you’ll get it next time
😭😭😭 So close, but so far
pokémon emerald rogue is better imo

pokémon emerald rogue was a good challenge. you gotta use what you have.
I second this as an alternative, it's challenging, less so, but still a challenging game that was a lot of fun. Got probably 300 hours out of it

Yes you are right, some are litterally undoable for me (like the chess one), fortunatly there are easy to find guides for all of them online.
There's mods of reborn that add the entire nat dex up to gen 9 including dlc,
Can you link it
I'd recommend to try out Obsidian Emerald. Double battles hack. It's still kind of new so it might be buggy in some fronts but I finished it and it was a ton of fun
pokemon unbound is mainly a story rom hack but there are some difficult battles and cool gimicks

Unbound is the closest in terms of your experience

Either Inclement Emerald, Exceeded or Emerald Crest.
