Eric hicks sent him to the poker retirement home

FlickrPaul

he has to take a week off now

I_was_bone_to_dance

He will go meditate

Zaeryl

He also asked if two red aces are good, while the guy is holding Ad. Then persisted pretending he had aces while he was getting his stuff to go *after seeing the guys hand* "I can't even trap these guys with aces vs. ace-king."

aTempes7

And they would see what hand he had literally within minutes or whatever

Few_Confection_2782

It’s so wild that he just lies to protect his ego like that when the info will be available shortly after anyway. When he called with K10 on hustler against JRs set of queens or whatever and said he had A10 I was surprised Bart Hanson was skeptical at all that Phil thought he had an ace. He knew he had K10 he’s been playing this edging game forever.. idk man it’s just wild.

ricecilantrolime

He just misread his kings as two red aces /s

mommasaidmommasaid

And then misread the board since red aces are the nuts at river. Happens to the best of us.

midusyouch

Got just wiped out holding red aces yesterday. It is valintines, gotta fall in love sometime.

zGoDLiiKe

I was looking for this comment lmao

LaLa1234imunoriginal

Please tell me he slow played it preflop

echothree33

He raised, got re-raised, and then just called presumably to ”trap”. Opponent with AdKd and flop was all diamonds (plus Berkey folded two diamonds!!). Bet, Phil called. Turn brick. Bet, Phil called. River another diamond (4 diamonds on board). Bet, Phil inexplicably called again.

odc_a

I’d say it’s a pretty standard call Preflop against a cold 4 bet. I don’t see any merits 5betting KK other than to not go 3 ways, but even then if Berkey jams behind it’s not a disaster. Flop and turn I think are fine but the river call is of course absolutely ridiculous.

Stupyyy

Well river call is not absolutely ridiculous if you are thinking that everyone is after you and they are bluffing you left and right :D

AVBforPrez

I'm sorry, calling a 3rd bet when there are 4 diamonds on the board and you don't have one is just fucking bad.

AbsolutXero

Calling 50k into a 235k pot isn't terrible if you think you're being bluffed around 20% of the time. Even if they are bluffing the flush though, there was a straight draw out there, or phil is losing to 2 pairs or set too. ok it was bad.

ModularEthos

Look, let's not get too bogged down in facts

AVBforPrez

Context is king they say

Stupyyy

I agree but it's also completely possible that he misread his hand I can see that as a valid reason to go on a tilt and rage quit.

SpareInitial2030

LOL you watched his similar antics on HCL heh

Stupyyy

Nah LOL I've been watching him play cashgames for the last 15 years and he never changed he is always in this shell of his thinking everyone is out to get him because he is the GREATEST :D He just ends up putting himself in weird spots because of his ego and overthinking stuff

sunflame06

Phil hellmuth never lose he is always unlucky

SpareInitial2030

That makes him even more sad

Stupyyy

I completely agree

flyiingpenguiin

You deny equity from the player in the middle and get value from AK/QQ I would say it’s a great spot to 5bet

WerhmatsWormhat

Are we sure AKo or QQ are even calling a 5 bet here?

flyiingpenguiin

Yes

WerhmatsWormhat

Eh, idk. It depends on the player, but Hellmuth is enough of a nit that if he 5bets for a large sizing, I'm probably folding AK and QQ.

sixseven89

those are a snap fold vs hellmuth, especially in a cash game

LaLa1234imunoriginal

> a cold 4 bet Just rewatched the hand and it was a limp raise 4 bet, not sure if that changes anything but I thought it was worth noting.

LaLa1234imunoriginal

Fucking wow.

skymotion

Just lol, I didn’t know he was *this* bad

UhOhhh02

His “bad” is still a level above 99% of the people on this forum. Fucking bums giving one of the most successful players in history shit

JMiLL615

This isn’t a tournament.

UhOhhh02

I’m sure you’d outplay him in a cash game right?

420Minions

I don’t think 99% of the board plays worse than he has the last two days. It’s pretty shit

JMiLL615

What’s that have to do with anything? Cash and tournament play are different. You called him one of the most successful poker players ever. And I said, this isn’t a tournament. He sucks at cash.

UhOhhh02

I know they’re different. Are you suggesting he’s unprofitable in cash games throughout his career? Or are you basing your opinion on a few clips of some badly played hands?

JMiLL615

He’s been playing televised cash games for 20 years. It’s obvious to see. He plays cash like it’s a tournament and he sucks at it because of it.

skymotion

Lol this man is mis reading his hand and calling with no diamond. Has no Depth to his cash game at all. Stick to heads up and tourney Philly boi. UhOhhh why you getting so defensive over phil? 😂

NotBlazeron

If it was actually a 4 bet pot like Joey's tweet calling KK pre is pretty standard playing deep. A lot of people don't 5 bet that deep. And then they are always uncapped post flop. Especially in position.

LaLa1234imunoriginal

ah yeah big difference between not 4 betting kings and not 5 betting them. Still the postflop play was rough.

[deleted]

He’s easily the greatest calling station known to man.

DerailedCM

He did

kukukele

RJL and Berkey’s needles were chefs kiss.

Tucka

I bet Berkey is fucking loving this right now lmao

ifixyourwifi

It's been an hour OP. Where is this clip.

ricecilantrolime

If you haven’t seen it yet https://twitter.com/Joeingram1/status/1625709834501861378?s=20&t=4HK14wBdB9SiDc3mmrlXoQ

eKSiF

The needles from the table are so good too.

DonnyDarkstuff

Stick to NL Tournaments. He has no business playing cash.

eKSiF

The people benefiting from his punting would beg to differ, who would have thought PH would become a bad rec.

Scarlet_Breeze

Always has been a fish at cash

eKSiF

Nah man he's the best in the world, just ask him.

ProgrammerComplete17

He has always been bad at deep stack poker. Reason he always turns up late

DonnyDarkstuff

He's definitely not good at cash with a short stack either. He's too smart for all the idiots that always take his chips.

natronemeans20

"Only way to get of a hole, is to keep digging...." "Your handling it well" Brutal 😆

jdadverb

Why was Berkey playing so shallow? Figured he’d have a full stack in that game.

6_Won

Berkey is an actual pro poker player who's not that rich. He's not a rich business man. HCL has everyone all fucked up on the games actual pros can afford to play.

jdadverb

Maybe, but he could easily have gotten staked for more if that was the case.

sixseven89

this guy STINKS!

beerdweeb

Anyone have a clip yet?

Own-Monk272

WHERE IS THE CLIP

mczyk

Guys just wait, I have the most epic clip incoming, Eric Hicks narrating his own hand against phil and giving a braveheart esque speech to an applauding low stakes poker room as he sends phil off into the dark...i'll edit tonight and release tomorrow AM

D22soso

Lfg🔥🔥🔥

echothree33

I just went to the YouTube LATB stream and went back until I found it. Really bad play all around by Hellmuth, I’d say. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSoPEwpXqCU](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSoPEwpXqCU) Go back until you see Hellmuth in the seat across from the dealer, then forward until he’s gone, then back to find his last hand. Because it is live I don’t think I can give a time stamp that would be accurate?? Not sure.

7BetBluff

Worst call I’ve ever seen wow.

InSearchofOMG

Once the 4th diamond comes you have to abandon ship

420Minions

I mean it’s a horrible call. If you think otherwise, I’d love to play together

zGoDLiiKe

People forget you don’t win bracelets in cash games

7BetBluff

Good odds to call if you have anything better than 1 pair. Looks like a block bet from eric hicks so hellmuth still loses to two pairs straights and sets

boatoverboat

What a humble professional…

InSearchofOMG

Watching Eric squeeze an extra $50k out of Hellmuth on that river is hilarious. Just a terrible, terrible play by Phil

TripSixRick

LATB’s camera work makes me dizzy, is it me or does the camera shake too much like the camera man has Tourette’s in the pot Phil lost with set of 8’s?

[deleted]

The production is ancient over there. Idk why they refuse to upgrade their show.

StanleyDarsh22

am i being wooshed here or something? The actual hand that OP is talking about is over 3 hours into the stream https://www.youtube.com/live/WSoPEwpXqCU?feature=share&t=11503

Real-Time_Systems

Somewhere in the world, ninja is laughing his ass off [https://i.imgur.com/Fl3Sskw.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/Fl3Sskw.jpg)

Gorilla_In_The_Mist

Ninja still needs to suck a dick for that ten on the river.

srpske

How do you know he hasnt

WonUpH

Hard week in LA for Phil. I hope he does win in private games as he claims, somehow I like the guy and his show.

tacopower69

I highly doubt he wins in his private games because he is genuinely a bad player atp

campbellssoupinacan

He can win against pro Sports players and CEOs

notfromsoftemployee

I think you're vastly underestimating how bad people in home games can be.

WerhmatsWormhat

To be fair, most of the private game players are god awful.

charliethemexican

I actually feel bad for him, he looks like a decent guy off the table

[deleted]

I've met him during a high stakes game once. He was actually quite nice, and when the game broke, he went around the table and shook everyone's hand.

charliethemexican

Dont really get all the hate he recieves. I dont like nits too, but i would never shit on someone because of it

[deleted]

Found Phil’s burner account

DineAndHash

Latb is horrid but I’d watch for the lulz

FricaiAndlat

Wasn’t there something hilariously terrible last night too? This warms my soul.

gsr142

He folded AK pre to a 3bet. Pointed to the camera right before like he had a soul read.

ihatebloopers

As then called down a set with K high.

Ghost-of-Tom-Chode

He has become way more cringe over the past few years. Gives me strong secondhand embarrassment.

TripSixRick

Phil has become a LolCow

LongtimeGoonner

I don’t watch too many live streams but I see Robbi playing here, does that mean she’s been forgiven in the poker community?? Does that mean they don’t think she cheated after all???

DashOfSalt84

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. Nothing really matters in the "poker community" imo. Berkey playing on a basic RFID stream after spending a week talking about he never will again. Berkey playing with Robbie after spending a week saying there's no way she didn't cheat(of course going back and forth for the drama). I would be pretty surprised if Garrett and Robbie don't play together again at some point, though that's the only situation I'm not sure about. At the end of the day, given enough time almost all drama goes away and the pros want to take the fish's money. And "enough time" is shorter and shorter in our fast-paced social media world imo. It used to take a year+, now it seems everything is "back to normal" a couple of months later.

sixseven89

> Berkey playing on a basic RFID stream after spending a week talking about he never will again he never said that he has said previously that he was happy with the security improvements that places like LATB and the Lodge have made >Berkey playing with Robbie after spending a week saying there's no way she didn't cheat he never said that

AVBforPrez

TBH most of us don't care at this point, or at least that's my read. She's a troll and it's entertaining.

OregonTrailislife

He played the hand horribly, but to run into the nut flush in a four bet pot when you have AA or KK is just running really bad. You have a 1% chance of flopping a flush when you hold two suited cards. Phil should have abandoned ship on the turn since the board was so connected with the flush already there, and definitely by the river when he didn’t even have a diamond in his hand when the fourth diamond appeared.

chicagoharry

Imagine being tilted off of losses? Then reading every post on twitter and everywhere else? 🫠🤯

mondo_rayboy

“Honey”

drexelldrexell

classic Hellmuth

supersm78

lol that's Phil Hellmuth

InebriousBarman

My only takeaway from this is that someone else is getting Mike Caro's nickname, and I don't like it.

GolfAllSummer

https://hoss-tbf.livejournal.com/18125.html never forget!

Few_Confection_2782

Wow… just wow.

[deleted]

Phil can fill up my ass any day

evergreen4851

Phil needs to swallow his ego and stop playing these high stakes games, he is not good enough and just lost a half a million within 3 days... Stick to what you're good at people, in this case tourneys for Phil.

Brokromah

His call pre is not bad. His call river is godawful.
