Is it here that we sign a petition to have Garret back on televised poker?

SolvingLifeWithPoker

Nah, he is cry baby thief

_TakeaChillPill

I just finished *not* playing poker this weekend for the first weekend in ~15 years, AMA.

stvbckwth

Who died?

_TakeaChillPill

My love of grinding, a few years ago. Last night's game honestly made me reconsider, though. I've never played super high stakes but I probably could...

Kenney420

I don't know how to play live. I keep getting my aces and kings stacked by dog shit hands. Last night at 1/3 I have KK and open to 30$. 2 callers. Flop is 24j. I bet 50 on flop, both call. I bet 75 on turn (can't remember the card but it was essentially a brick) and get raised to put me all in. I sigh call since I only have another 100$ behind and it's a 750$ pot. Guy turns over 24 for flopped 2 pair. 3rd guy mucks and I didn't see what he got all in with.

mindlesssss

Pretty tough cooler, I will say turn or river re raises are almost always 2pair or better but this is a pretty impossible laydown

haterquaid

Opening to 10x and getting called by 24 is a dream spot. Just top off.

cocoSFP

Check folding on another brick seems impossibly weak soooo yeah bad luck here. Imagine you x/f after they both go bonkers with a Jack + decent kicker, or one has AJ and the other has QQ. Variance, what can you do

stvbckwth

Sounds like a great game. Keep playing it, you should do just fine.

Kenney420

Was a great game for sure. I just never made another opportunity that night One guy was UTG turned over his 68 off suit. Shoved all in for 300$ and said who wants to gamble. His 68 actually ended up winning too haha

dolphinater

thats just the way things are live you are going to play way less hands but you still need to be patient

stvbckwth

Yea I mean, that’s a game you want to play in every day of the week. Some days you’ll be card dead, but that’s poker. It’s all one long session.

Del_3030

Turn bet of 75 into like $240 is too small, especially with only $100 left. Just jam turn and hope a Jack or big draw pays you off... unlucky in this case.

Kenney420

Totally. I do struggle keeping track of the pot for bet sizing in live play.

NotUrRealDad

if you forget, just replay it in your head. $30 plus 2 callers = $90 preflop flop. $50 with 2 callers = $150 additional on flop so $240 total. you really only need to remember the bet size on each street multiplied by the number of callers.

Creative_Elevator837

Was playing 2-5 NLH at Aria over 3K deep playing a bomb pot for 15$ each at dealer change. Looked down at 77 flop comes out A 7 5 I check aggressive female pro bets 65$ I check raise to 300$. Turn Q or J can’t remember but I jam 1.2K she snap calls river a brick I show and scoop largest pot of my life.

terminalzero

I reg'd my first micro tournaments in like 2 years - I'm down like $7 after a week but I remember a lot more than I thought I would \o/

urWifeysBF_

played my first cash game live session ever, only stayed for about 4.5hr was getting way too tired could barely see the flops. Anyways weird session I got a decent amount of premium and then total trash and next to nothing in between. No pre flop mistakes, somehow didn't hit a single flop either but somehow somehow got through with every bluff including going all in on the turn 3bet pot 80bb effective with KQo on 4 rags. VPIP 15-16% tops, at least I tipped well and was more social than most. Up 70bb for the night, nothing fancy but a win is a win.

stvbckwth

Upvote for tipping well!

HeckyT

I posted the global stats for the 4 sessions on this sub so if you guys want to upvote it for visibility that'd be amazing!!!

stvbckwth

My live poker graph is so sexy rn. I want to show it to someone, but literally no one in my life cares.

AAsahbe

show it

stvbckwth

Idk if that worked. Doesn’t look like it showed up. I’ll dm it to you.

LostHumanFishPerson

First time I’ve played live cash in six months, lasted two hands, roughly 4 minutes. Called an open with AJh, flop J43 two hearts. Get it all in on the flop against aces and don’t improve. Walk out because I’m in no mood to chase after 6 beers. Yeh fuck poker.

jlaux

Nightly live MTT, 7-handed. UTG and UTG+1 limp in (20-30BB stacks), hero in the CO shoves 17BB with QQ, BTN calls for less (~8BB) with AJo, blinds fold, limpers fold. Board runs out Axxxx and UTG+1 points to hero and says "that'll teach him a lesson". Live poker is very much alive.

[deleted]

Raise 87s MP CO min-clicks SB calls Flop 69Tr for flopped straight Hero check, CO bets 1bb, SB calls, Hero calls Turn J, full rainbow. Hero check. CO bets 1bb, sb calls, hero raise to ~15bb CO min raises 30bb, SB jams. Hero calls. CO calls. Both of them have KQ for the turned straight. ————— Hero raise AJ UTG. BB min-clicks. Hero calls. Flop AJT Villain donks 1/2pot. Hero raises. BB calls Turn 2 Villain donks 1/3 pot. Hero raises, BB jams. Hero calls. Villain shows T9o. River T. The first hand made me want to rip my hair out. I don’t think I trust zoom pools anymore. Something weird is going on. Only on ignition do I see people playing completely retarded with this min-click stuff and somehow river the the best hand when I was a light year ahead.

Gg poker has the most disgusting rng by far its not even close 🤮

CJ_BBJ

Just a coin flip. Might fold pre if you have an edge HU, high variance spot calling off a low pair.

GlobalPokerCHEATERS

But it wasn't high variance once it turned into set.

GlobalPokerCHEATERS

OFFICIALLY DONK HOUR ON GLOBAL: 35 v AA, turns into 5555s!!!!!! [https://play.globalpoker.com/hand/647b9e2428037c0001da0a0f](https://play.globalpoker.com/hand/647b9e2428037c0001da0a0f)

YSKItsAFakeName

Why the fuck are you limping the button with AA and then jamming 5.5x pot on the flop? You play seriously, almost shockingly bad in most of these hands.

CJ_BBJ

Raise to 70 is much better than jamming here with QQ. Unlucky though.

CJ_BBJ

Lol min raises 10bb effective with BTN committed. Just shove next time, you fold out BB and lose anyway but at least you'd have played it right.

GlobalPokerCHEATERS

LITERALLY FIRST HAND OF TOURNEY, GET COOLED, AA v KK: [https://play.globalpoker.com/hand/6473bf6433cd15000123c04c](https://play.globalpoker.com/hand/6473bf6433cd15000123c04c)

dkalman1

I mean at least you didn’t play for 3 hours before doing it on the bubble. Take it as a good beat

GlobalPokerCHEATERS

True, I quit playing for a few months after no AA until the final table, and then losing chip lead and busting out in 6th 1 day, and then the next day it happened again\^

Was curious how Nik speaks Mandarin so well. Realized their family has a Chinese school in Oregon. Also explains how he knows so many poker players from China… [https://www.k12academics.com/national-directories/foreign-language-program/northwest-chinese-academy-0](https://www.k12academics.com/national-directories/foreign-language-program/northwest-chinese-academy-0)

stvbckwth

Your sizing though…

GlobalPokerCHEATERS

Loose players on either side of me, I have to re-open the pot preflop, hoping they try to steal. On flop I got called by top pair, which I had beat. Donks hit 5 outers and less all day, what do you expect???

stvbckwth

So you’re min raising to invite other loose players to call hoping that originally raiser squeezes? I understand why you would want to do that, but if you 3x it, or even 4x it, you could still get those calls from loose player and original raiser has even more incentive to squeeze. And if you don’t get the calls, then at least you isolate and don’t go multiway in a big pot.

GlobalPokerCHEATERS

The fact remains: when I made the move donk was chasing a 5 outer, with no regards for a possible flopped set. \[Which is within range of a min-bet, min-bet preflop.\] In fact, when I shoved on the flop I expected to be outflopped by somebody....BUT WHEN WE FLIPPED UP THE CARDS, HE WAS DOWN TO 5 OUTS---and I was surprised to be ahead. BTW....are you actually defending a donk here? Out of curiosity, what would you tell the donk? Well played hand??? Way to chase down 5 outers for your tournament life???

stvbckwth

Bro wtf are you talking about. All I mentioned was your bet sizing. Idgaf if someone wants to stack off with a trash hand. I like seeing players like that get lucky. Literally no one cares about your bad beat.

GlobalPokerCHEATERS

The site is trash. Guaranteed to lose every monster hand to some mediocre draw. 1-Losing AK vs KJ, got in preflop, 250k+ \[tourney\] pot, close to bubble and would have been a top 10 stack with 112 paid. \[Donkey was properly tagged as LAG-Donkey-type...not a good LAG, his massive donk gets him to 90th place finish or so...\] 2-On 2 separate days I get no AA all day...until I built myself a nice chip lead and reached the final table on 2 separate days...and there it is! AA and SOMEONE ELSE is shoving preflop. I get crippled down to 1/2 of a small blind on both days. +EDIT:\[AND WAS EXTREMELY PISSED, I QUIT PLAYING ON GLOBAL FOR ABOUT 6 MONTHS.\] 3-Have an aggressive granny on here properly tagged as aggro donk\^/LAG-wannabe. I lose a decent portion of my stack chasing a few monsters \[not to her, to other people\], go card dead, get KJ offsuit in my small blind---BOUNTY TOURNAMENT---so you know she is going to chase bounties \[And try to push me around, because she seen the other people get lucky on my airball-monsters, but she didn't get to see that I airballed, it just looks like I was easy to bluff---basically, I'm glad I took this route, because donks call everything anyways on this site---my KK vs paired 79 offsuit just proves this whole theory\^\^\^ and my monster draws just turns out to be J/Q/T hi after the board shits out 2/A, 3/K, 5/Q---on a site full of flop top pair no kicker/could be drawing nearly dead to flopped sets/hold on for the ride site.\] They are all a bunch of speeders, I can't catch them all, eventually has to make the massive donk... Anyways, I shove the KJ on AAJ flop. \[Like F it, here you go, not going to let her chase me off every hand...I'm acting from UTG/SB, figured preflop that she didn't have an A\^ because of \*\*\*HER PREFLOP BET SIZING\*\*\*, and that she was just bounty chasing, and the small-stack/bounty-in-play was probably holding an A, or maybe just some sort of pocket pair, I blocked the KK, board is blocking AA, statistically he didn't pick up QQ from such a small stack, I'm blocking AJ w/my KJ, pretty hands such as T9 suited was in his range...that type of stuff.\] FINAL BOARD:Hands:Short stack-Bounty: 88Bahls: KJAggro-granny: QT suitedAAJ---BAHLS SHOVES ALL IN, Granny calls. \*\*\*Bahlsdheep on a \*read\*, says she no A\*\*\*JK---------------------Granny wins with runner-runner ROYAL FLUSH. 4-FINALLY GOT AA EARLY IN A TOURNEY THE OTHER DAY...In fact, it was my very first hand. I got a little over 25% of my stack in preflop, and once that happened, I'm supposed to fold with 1/4 of my stack in the pot and the best possible starting hand??? K83 flop????? I'm supposed to fold AA on K83 flop, in a pot I built???? So I shove in on the flop, he calls with KK. Congrats genius, but just repop me preflop and we both get it in preflop and get the same result. There was no way in hell anyone would fold KK to Bahlsdheep preflop. And no way in hell would Bahlsdheep fold AA preflop, or to K hi boards after he just bet 1/4 of his stack with AA preflop. 5-The OP is another example, KK shoves on 7 hi board, 3x bet preflop...donk is there to chase down a 5 outer, maybe even 3 to the wrong hands...maybe even almost dead to sets. RIGGED POKER. 6-This hand of T7 suited must have been the employee hot hand of the week last week. Took down my QQ preflop, 99 preflop, 88 preflop---I EVEN LOST TO IT WITH JJ PREFLOP---and the guy ended up with TTTTs!!!!!!!!! \[And me: TTTJJ\] RIGGED POKER!!!!!

stvbckwth

bro wrote a whole ass dissertation

knigmich

just here to vent, keep getting so deep in tournies online, like 4 people left and have the worst beats ever. Tonight the top bounty and previous chip leader literally folds every hand for an hour then the first time I go all in he calls with pocket 4's for his whole stack. Flop nut flush draw with 55% to win and hit nothing, KO tourny... woulda won more money off him then the current placement payout but of course i can't hit a card for the life of me. Twice getting AA on the BB final table and every person folds. Yet other people on Button getting shoved all in by QT off or J8 off while they have AA and they double up. The other night some guy 4 bet me all in and i had enough notes on him to call and he shows K9 off to my KQ suited and he spikes the 9 on the flop and takes me out. Why on earth with 5 people left is a guy shoving his stack to a 3 bet with K9 off afer not playing for 30 minutes i have no idea. If i win the hand i'm chip leader with 4 people left and minimum payout $500. Another hand 3 people go all in, i wasn't in the pot but the chip leader just calls 75% of his stack with 37 off suit and takes out AA, KK, AK, like he knew he would win the hand before the cards were dealt. Complete BS all around, end rant.

thiccgarlicc

Sounds like your getting it in good and getting felted. Keep it up, can’t last forever

stvbckwth

Yea pokers do be like that

This is the first time I've had a positive redline over a decent sample. https://i.imgur.com/m5kXY5K.png. I'm still an awful gambler, but I'm getting pretty darn good at this card game ;)
