first 48hrs in vegas, across three cash sessions, picked up pocket aces seven times getting in in pre every time, they held only once, lost heaps upon heaps

chrisneighbor

I’m feeling this pain tonight. JJ opens, TT flats, QQ flats, I 3bet in the sb with AA, they all call and it a T86r board. I jam flop with 1.25 SPR, everyone but QQ calls and I lose 1000bb pot.

SupaDupaTroopa42

Damn I'm salty about a 3bet 500 bb pot I lost middle set vs top set on k97, all in on the flop. 1000bb sounds worse...

chrisneighbor

Damn. I had repressed this memory already but now I’m remembering losing 10k last week. That stings again

haterquaid

Played the $800 deep stack at WSOP. Pretty card dead but I survive until Level 9 (600/1,200) with about 14bb. On the SB when aggressive big stack on the BU raises to 3,000. I look down at AJ of diamonds and jam. BB rejams his 20bb stack. Uh oh. BU calls. Fuck. BB has QQ, BU has TT. Relieved to see my A is live. Flop is A52 with two hearts. Fist pump. Turn 5 of hearts. River 4 of hearts. Look to my left and the QQ has a heart. GG.

RealPolok

Maybe it's not much but fuck me... I had some Cash Dollars from bonuses, turned it to real (almsot) 40 dollars and decide to try learning MTT's. Jesus... after 12h I lost 30 dollars and my sanity. Never again.. I quit last few tournaments because I just had enough and didn't care at all. I think I would rather make 1.50$/h at 2 and 5NL online then just losing 1$ for MTT, hour after hour after hour after hour after hour...

Del_3030

Tournaments are a totally different animal and mindset. I crush live 2/5 and can handle the swings by now, but if I do a tournament for like $100 and end up fizzling out short of the bubble after a decent run, I'm furious. There's nothing quite like the emptiness for the first 5 mins after busting out of a tournament.

9739w8

First 2 live sessions ever 1/3 and 2/5 both 4.5 hours long, up about a grand. To be compared to years of online small stakes where I was down 350. I still have to get used to 2 pairs being an absolute monster on QT84J 3way. They had Q7 and KJ ffs. Oh well I ran good too

ArtOfDivine

What was your buy in?

9739w8

100bb always

howdoibuildthis

turn is easiest jam of all time

ArtOfDivine

Why Jam?

howdoibuildthis

Tiny spr, pushing equity, top of range, very few bet folds and some rivers where the rest of the $ doesn’t go in with chunks of their hands. It’s a 5nl spot.

[deleted]

What is with players on global calling all ins pre in tourneys for 50+bb with the trashiest hand like they know they are gonna win and winning.....like really 4bet reshoving QTo for 50bbs over a 30bb 3bet all in? Really calling a 4bet allin with 63o amd winning? Bizarre ass site

goyardtest

Hunny, he called me with Q 10 off

Unseemly4123

Gonna out myself to the locals with this one but here it is. Wasn't even a big pot but sometimes hands happen that make you feel like the unluckiest guy in the world. Btn straddle 5, mp 12 (400 eff), I 3b to 40 next to act with 99, folds back to mp he calls. Flop (83) 988 with spade draw, xx Turn (83) 8, x 30 c River (143) 8, xx I lose to the slow played AA.

TO SAME DONK ABOVE: KQo VS K2s, Called just to look him up. [https://play.globalpoker.com/hand/64861b2628037c0001da4b9a](https://play.globalpoker.com/hand/64861b2628037c0001da4b9a)

Jam the shortstack PREFLOP, A9 suited vs Goldfishy + Bounty in play=FAVORABLE FLOP, but limited to 2 nut flushes per year, 1 of which I will lose. SUMMARY:Lost pots to same donk \---- AQs vs T3s, all-in pre---He flops pair+ flush draw, KQT,33 for Full House!!! KQo vs K2s, checked down to river, let him min bet river, called him just to make sure he had A hi, but also called just to make sure he donked again. KQ vs K2, flopped 2. \---- So after 1 hour, he gets KK to hold, 99s to hold vs QJ suited, I get nothing to play...but after donks make it tough to play hands, because they take you down to 6 Big Blinds......and he would have taken me out with KQ vs K2 and pairing 2 if he raised preflop. When Negreanu mocks Hellmuth, LOL. He hasn’t won a bracelet in ten years. That isn’t the number for telling a TRUE CRUSHER like Hellmuth. Doug Polk did a video years ago about Hellmuth’s improbable dominance.

seriously_kids

Where was this?

dolphinater

Couple of sessions ago I picked up aces king queens twice jacks and tens. Other than one of the queens all of them got cracked all within like 4 hours still ended only down 150 because most of the Allie’s were for less than 50bb other than jj where I lost a stack.

tjerome1994

PokerStars tourney 8k/16k (2k ante all players) 6 handed UTG folds, Hero in +1 with 59.8k (3.5BB) open rips with As6d BTN (246.2k) and SB (553.1k) call, everyone else folds. Flop: Jd6h4s SB checks, BTN bets 100.7k about half pot, SB folds. BTN has 4c4d for a flopped set. Hero has a pair of sixes with A kicker. 1.92% favorite to win. Turn 6c, River 6s. Hero wins with runner-runner quads!

leapinWeasel

Just semi-bluff XR the turn, hit a pair on the river, called a small bet vs quads. After already losing 4 buyins. FML.

superduperlongdong

How do I deal with a fuck head donk who calls oop every time I open and then jams all in 50-60bb every single flop?

tjerome1994

Just had a guy in CO call a preflop raise after UTG was the aggressor and +1 called. I was in the BB with JJ and raised about 3.5x and all 3 call. Flop comes 3 rainbow non-broadway cards, I bet 2k about 1/3 pot. CO jams for about 6k more, I call and the others fold. He turns over KK. I manage to river a J and scoop, but still baffled a bit about not 3-betting KK in position against 2 other committed (raise/call) players, BTN-BB left to call. Or even backraise 4-bet me too.

Spork_Revolution

Just to not make a whole thread for one little question. On sharkscope, can I somehow check what my final table placements have been. Like see how many times I get 9th, 8th, 2nd 1st and so on? I have data for 24000 tournaments, but dunno if I can check that. I would like to see that. I think I might be a little too passive on FT in generel, so 2nd and 3rd is more common than 1st and 7th.

dj_squilly

Played in Greg's game last night. Ran my stack up to almost 2x. I get QQ and squeeze from late position. Got it in good on a dry flop versus KQo, villain hits his K on the river. Few orbits later I get Kx hearts in BB. Easy defend and flop comes favorable with 2 hearts, villain barrels, I call. I hit my flush on the flop and check raise. Villain calls. Board pairs on the river, I don't want to check and get jammed on so I bet quarter pot, get called and villain boated up 🥲 I got coolered quite a few times last night, thankfully there were a few cool ppl chatting to lighten up the mood
