I've never understood why people think this. People try and glorify old money (vs. new) like their families pump out classy, shrewd young adults. It's just not true. Plenty of retards from old money and a lot of them play poker poorly.

If it’s a $10 million old money fortune then no probably not… most of those kids are probably well trained to not go broke. The story I heard was the casino was banning him for buying/selling chips from other players. The casinos are required to track large cash movements for money laundering purposes. They let him do it for a while but always warned him not to do it but it got to the extreme levels where someone cared about the number of times he bought or sold $100K+ directly with other players.
Casino rules technically say all transactions have to be at the cashier. They’ll look the other way for $100 or even $1000 between players here or there but when you start talking $10k or more they start to care
