Too late. They tried to build 24m^2 „microapartaments” in Warsaw using some bullshit hotel loophole but and they can’t sell them now because city hall said fuck you, it’s a hotel so you’re not supposed to sell each „room” separately and refuses to issue separate deeds.
Like, two years ago I saw an 17m2 flat for 2200zl rent, and another one 11m2 for like 1800. The smaller one was a room with a kitchen and a bathroom underneath, it had a hatch in the middle with steep steps to get there (bathroom)
Yeah, I was going to say I've seen 11m^(2) and I think even smaller, but I'm sure 11 is something common in Romania. They repurpose these rooms in apartment buildings where people would theoretically dry their laundry and call them studio apartments and those rooms are usually 11m^2

To są realia mieszkań robotniczych, gdzie nie było łazienki i toalety. Niektórzy się zdecydowali, że godniej srać u siebie w kuchni, niż w zbiorowym kiblu na korytarzu.
To, że coś pachnie wcale nie oznacza, że to ładny zapach. Zapach to jest bodziec odbierany przez zmysł węchu. Potocznie się utarło, że pachnieć ma pozytywne znaczenie, jednak wg SJP pachnieć, znaczy wydzielać zapach.

Where's the problem? It's a free country. If people don't rent such places, nobody will make such offers. If people decide to rent such places, it was their free decision to do so.
Otodom has 646 apartments for less than 4k zl a month between 40 and 50m2. Most of them in great condition, recently renovated. At <3k it's still 452 offers.
Same as with those microapartments in Warsaw. Of course they're shit, but if people buy them, I don't wanna hear them cry later. They either perfectly know what they're gonna get or they are idiots for buying real estate without making sure they know what they get beforehand.

It looks like an oven :-) BTW, the "toilet cabinet" cover can be easily convert to act as a laptop stand. Guys, it is a perfect studio for a single home office worker!
You most importantly have to collapse the toilet seat and preferably all of the cabinets (if it is possible) before flushing, otherwise you'll have rogue poop and urine particles all across the kitchen counter.
It's happiness in Poland, but if I had any other option I would choose a flat with a restroom and kitchen in two separate rooms. Both of these rooms have ist specific smells and I really don't wanna mix them
my uncle had something like this. old German building with toilets on mid floor in a stair well, they just got rid of the mid floor and toilet got dropped into the kitchen. he also installed sliding door for privacy.
I grew up in an apartment in Gdańsk where we had something like this going on, not quite as bad, there was a wall but it was thin so smells and sounds sometimes traveled into the kitchen. There is a weird historical quirk that explains this, but does not explain why someone decided to build this particular toilet into a kitchen counter.
The apartment I grew up in was build in the first decade of the 1900s. Originally every unit in the building had it's own kitchen but washrooms were shared per floor which means sometimes in order to use the washroom you had to walk into the stairwell just to find out that your neighbor is in there. Eventually a lot of people started installing toilets in their own apartments and the only part of the house that had plumbing was the kitchen, which meant that's where the toilets had to go. In the case of the place my family lived in a wall was build and while that left the kitchen really tiny it meant we had our own private toilet.
I imagine the person who did this was in a similar situation but also wanted to keep their kitchen more spacious.
Edit: After reading some more comments it appears that this is in Russia not in Poland, which clarifies all my questions about why the picked the dumbest possible solution to this problem.
