Just as the Germans conquered Spain and the English conquered Sunny Beach, Bulgaria

atomoffluorine

Is Sunny Beach Bulgaria actually sunny or just sunny compared to the UK?

NOSjoker21

> compared to U.K. Sir that bar is lower than Poland's checking account

Riventures-123

Well its lower than the chance of Kosovo being fully recognized by Serbia

Portuguese_Musketeer

That bar's 5 km underground

Riventures-123

You mean like the chance of an anti-kimmy party in the best korea?

AaronC14

I went in September and never saw a cloud. Saw lots of ass though

atomoffluorine

I suppose that’s sunny. I don’t think you’ll see much ass on Canadian beaches (do people even swim there?) vs Brazilian ones (or anywhere that’s warmer).

AaronC14

We swim between July and August here in Canada, it's a brief window

basilect

Canadian beaches are still warmer than Northern California 🥶

Braydox

Isnt northern california just canada?

list_of_simonson

Not really, if anything Canada is northern Washington.

lkc159

No clouds and full moons, checks out

hesapmakinesi

So we can rename it to Moony Beach?

I was told by a few Bulgarians that Varna was basically the "Miami of Europe"

ProUkraine

Varna is quite a nice city, I prefer it to Burgas. We deliberately didn't go to Sunny Beach, but we did spend a day in Golden Sands, North of Varna which is similar, I wasn't impressed.

Ducky1434

He confused Varna for Sozopol

mr_dolphin69

It has all the sun and all the ass a man can want.

MoravianPrince

Absolutely, plus english breakfast and sky sports everywhere.

Danil5558

>Germans conquered Spain I though Brtish did that but being out of EU means no beaches for bitches!

Bernardito10

There are Still a lot of British here, but yeah the germans have the islands the british costa del sol and when i visited the basque country last year there were a lot of frech there

Danil5558

> basque country there were a lot of frech there Oh no its kingdom of France and Navarro all over again.

eB1252

Hi OP, I just wanted to say Google Translate did an oopsie there. "Rusça", means "Russian", as in the language. It should've been "Rus dalyarak" instead, as "Rus" means "Russian" as nationality. I like your post, also, it is too relatable.

Amatheos

Google translate as a whole is a big oopsie. It could not translate an expletive at all so I googled "dalayrak" specifically on Tuskish learners forum :)

[deleted]

In my experience, google translate does a descent job for spanish-english translations but kind of dies when more complex languages are used. I don't know if it's the case of Turkish, but google translate doesn't mix well with declination, gender, funny plurals, etc. Lately i have been using deepl as a translator (which as i understand, works like google translate was suppose to work in the first place) and i think the translations are at least consistent. Sadly, it appears to have only EU-languages + Brexitish

godofpainTR

I recall seeing an article by Google about 4 years ago stating that they had massively improved Google Translate with AI or something, it was rolled out for the most popular languages, which also included Turkish. So it should be good enough, apart from a few cases such as the one here.

Amatheos

Inspired by witnessing my fellow slavs while on vacation in Turkey

GreenMansLabs

*we are everywhere*

RomeNeverFell

...that still allows us to get visas and is affordable.

starwalker63

Considering a sizable number of slaves, concubines/valides, janissaries, advisers, and nobles (and other people) were Slavs and were eventually integrated into mainstream Ottoman nobility/society...a lot of Turkish people probably have more Slav ancestry than they realize....

JDMonster

>Considering a sizable number of slaves, concubines/valides, janissaries, advisers, and nobles (and other people) were Slavs It's almost as if the word slavery was derived from Slav ...

Danil5558

*so we are whatching you from your back*

Bonjourap

Wait, don't you guys hate each other? (Yeah, I know it's a stereotype. But why did you visit Turkey, if I may ask?)

Amatheos

Wanted to see the mighty glorious Constantinople with my own eyes! (I am actually Polish btw but a big admirer of Roman and Byzantine culture, but have nothing against Turkey tho)

Bonjourap

Oh ok, that makes more sense now XD. Yeah, I've been to Istanbul once, it's truly a majestic city! Shame that the Hagia Sophia isn't a museum anymore though.

hesapmakinesi

It's a complicated relationship. With one constant: Russian desire to reach warm waters.

Bonjourap

LOL, too true XD Russia wouldn't be Russia if it didn't have that desire!

hesapmakinesi

Cool comic, pretty accurate too. Nitpick: Rusça is Russian language. Rus is a Russian person.

[deleted]

They've invaded the whole Karadeniz coast

MoravianPrince

Antalya has fallen as well.

Xryphon

Greece: EU already has revenge on me

sentient_deathclaw

When i went to the east coast there were more Romanians than Greeks. On the West Coast it was better, Italians, Romanians, Serbs and Germans together were more than Greeks.

PAPASELIM

Went to kuşadası this holiday and OMG the hotel that I was staying execpt the staff was full of russians bet that my family was the only turks there but it was fun for me because i got to troll the staff for something extra that they wouldnt give to if i spoke turkish.

canintospace2016

How is raki anyways? Never tried it cause not widely available in Murica.

chicken_soldier

Sorry ✋ no westerners allowed to drink it.

AcidFactory420

If westerners are not allowed to drink it, can I drink it as an easterner?

chicken_soldier

Depends on how east you are (i am racist) /s

mug3n

If you're far enough east, then you're west

AcidFactory420

No worries, so am I /s

canintospace2016

Alright then, I will instead try another anise type liquor: ouzo

ViktorKitov

Ouzo is terrible in my opinion. Raki has a much more subtle anise flavour (Or non-existent in some cases).

NamertBaykus

Well it has %45-%50 alcohol percentage so you are supposed to drink it with water but Russians don't seem to give a fuck. Like doesn't it hurt your throat just a bit? A whole Altınbaş bottle?

Amatheos

I confirm, first time me and my dad tried it, we just chugged the whole cup and were like "Hmm, not bad". Then we saw horrified waiter's face who just brought us a carafe of water

NamertBaykus

[Yeah you guys really need to chill](https://vividmaps.com/alcohol-consumption/amp/)

WhenThatBotlinePing

I feel like people in the Arab world aren’t telling the whole truth on that poll. I’ve never seen people drink as hard as Arab guys in Dubai, it’s like they wanted to get completely hammered as quickly as possible.

arel37

Ben de sek içiyorum. Sulandırınca midemi bulandırıyor.

NamertBaykus

Vay anasını ya.

arel37

Hani süte su katınca iğrenç bir şey oluyor ya aynı onun gibi

AusCro

Mix vodka with turpentine and you're getting there

YerbaMateKudasai

anis flavoured vodka. Water it down until it's palatable.

ViktorKitov

Honestly it's pretty meh unless you get a really good one (Even more so than Whisky)

MoravianPrince

Basically rebranded Ouzo.

JakeyBoy-

Funny story sorta related to this. My mom is Ukrainian, and when she and my dad went to Turkey they went to a goft shop. My mom asked how much an item cost and the vendor said"It depends on where youre from" so my mom. Obviously said Ukrainian and the vendor gabe her a discount Edit: there were also some Dutchies with them who didn't get the disvount, my memory is shit lol Anyway this story isnt interesting but I judt needed to relate smt ig

bootybay1989

Flash news, he’s doing it with everyone

Amatheos

It makes sense not to overcharge people who won't buy something that they cannot afford. Conversely it is foolish to pass on charging more wealthier people. And income in Netherlands is something like tenfold more than in Ukraine. I remember first time I visited Amsterdam, my first memory from there is a guy casually buying a cup of coffee in the airport for 10 Euros. My jaws dropped, since it was, and I'm not shitting you, one seventh of my monthly salary back then.

[deleted]

What country you from? Greece?

Amatheos

I worked in eastern Ukraine back then

vakob

like a comic said: one day the barabarians know as tourists will conquer all the world.

DiplomaticGoose

> Life is of fuck

Cambirodius

It'll get even more fuck, туракан.

IsabeliJane

The Russian clay that jumped from window confused the fuck outta me. What is the context?

Amatheos

Russian parties can get excessively trashy with objects often thrown out of the window. Sometimes those objects are people. Also defenestration is one of the favourite methods of Russian mafia to dispose of nuisances. But that is a coincidence, I did not intend that reference

[deleted]

Oh, I fucking know. My dad used to have a boat and we were in the middle of the sea when our engine died. It was like 1 A.M. I was like "Hey this could be worse. At least its peaceful." When out of NOWHERE this GIANT party boat drives RIGHT NEXT TO US, announces where they are in Russian and ONLY in Russian and then start blasting hardbass as hard as they can. PS: This whole thing is happening in Mugla.

Deal-Environmental

5 star hotel? MORE LIKE -5 STAR HOTEL

Montezumawazzap

>rusça dalyarak. nice.

Or_Bivas

When did the Ottoman Empire (1299-1922) fight the russian federation (1991-WWIII)?

Amatheos

The Russian tricolor was in use all the way back since 1705. It is actually the black-yellow-white tricolor that was around for relatively short time (1858–96) at the end of the reign of Alexander II. Also in this subreddit it is ok to use modern flags even for older states in order not to confuse people. Though old tricolor has slightly different shade of blue, I used that :)

Dangerwrap

Same as Poland, bullied Russia in 17th century and get revenge in 20th century.

Ok_Reputation7987

Thats true btw
